The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"For as long as good and evil contradict, there will be battles between the two opposing forces. That only leaves the question: who is fighting for good, and who is evil?" Some groups fought for a cause they thought was good, but was occasionally quite an evil plot. Really, it depended on how one was brought up. Fade's understanding of right and wrong was much different from many other Mansion residents, but that did not make her evil. "I fight if what I am fighting for is worth so much to me, that I would die for the cause," ((FORESHADOWING tehehehe)) she said, a bit solomly.
Of course, her invisibility was useless in the Danger Room because it could still read her location and every move, but when she was training with someone else, she had quite the advantage. "Well, invisibility doesn't work in the Danger Room, but phasing does," she shrugged. The Danger Room would be a lot harder if she did not have those phasing claws. Thank God she had that climbing technique down or she would be doomed! "Practice outside of the Danger Room, sometimes adrenaline can cloud your judgement of obstacle."
The e-mail / letter thing surprised her a bit. It didn't matter if she preferred an e-mail or a letter because she did not know how to write it either way. A few things she did know was what to set the Danger Room difficulty on. That's right, Shana must be bi-lingual. Now that was cool, Fade had enough difficulty with one language, it would be a skill to have two down pat. "So then do you speak a different language then? Speaking English is fine for me, it's spelling it that I have some difficulty with." Lucky for her, she had spent enough time sneaking around and observing people to learn proper English, just now how to write it.

"I can not believe their is true evil out thare, everyone does what they do because they believe it is somehow the right thing to do, even if that thing is wrong in the eyes of all others. Good and evil are just labels we use to group others with opposeing beliefs, and let's hope things never get so bad, it comes to ones deaths, certainly not yours" She said really hoping no one had to die in the conflict that was all around them. She still clung to the belief that harmony could be found if people would just work hard enough towards it.
"So the danger room can detect invisible people?" she asked guessing their really was no hay to hide from hatever the danger room was once you were in it. Shana had trained with her powers simply by picking things up and moving them. She was curious about the dnager room even if the name made it sound well dangerous. Still she agreed that adrenaline could cloud one's thoughts so that they would do things they might never do otherwise. "adrenaline clouds one's thoughts while most never see the veil that comes over their eyes" she said nodding to fades words.
"Speaking and spelling are much the same, just speaking we already use the letters we need in writing, the rest is just assigning a sound a symbol. The hard part with english spelling id their can be letters that make no sound at all, but influince the sounds of other letters. It is a lot like when you wake up and you can identify the smell of what's been cooked for breakfast, your mind associates the smell with the food. With letters their are 26 to understand" She tried to explain all the while having forgotten her fear and her usual nervousness cuased by that fear without even realizing it.
"Everyone has their own sense of right and wrong. I think evil can not always be blamed on a point of view. Someone destroying the world for the sake of saving it, I'd say that's evil, no matter what they claim it is for. Taking away anyone's rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness is evil to me," lucky she had seen that movie The Pursuit of Happyness, or she would not know what the hell that meant. Everyone had the right to live equally, no matter how different they were. Now if they took away someone else's life, their liberty should be taken away, of course.
A small smirk crossed her face. "Oh yes, the Danger Room has been the only one to have me all figured out. It can follow my every move, but I am working on my powers so I go invisible to inorganic senses too. Right now, it's sight, smell, sound, touch, and taste, although I don't know anyone that would want to capture me by tasting me..." she laughed. Odd thought. "Adrenaline is the best natural drug. The Danger Room does not much scare me because it will not kill me, it can't, but real fights, now that is where my judgment can be clouded.
All of the speaking and spelling analogies confused her. What the hell? You can smell how to spell? "I get assigning a sound a symbol, they're just all confusing. Like I heard you have to put them all together, like the word the is not just a letter, it's like three letters, right? I know a couple, like the th sound and that stuff, vowels, but I don't know complex words. I can spell: C-A-T, cat. F-A-D-E, Fade, M-U-T-A-N-T, mutant, but that is just because it is on the news all the time. I can't actually write it yet though, I don't know how to draw those weird symbols."

"I can agree with that,, if more people agreed with that line of thinking though then their would be no need to fight, but then it seems as if one thing people seem to be good at, is taking others lifes away. Maybe we mutants are meant to show humanity a new path, one without all the violence and hatred, to guide people to that happiness" She said thinking to herself, the idea seemed kind of absurd, even to her, she was unsure humans would ever stop the useless fighting. It seemed to ingrained into the culture and certainly some of the major music types.
It seemed fade had the power to become almost undetectable to the senses, she had to giggle at the idea of some one finding fade by tasting her. "Yea i would think the only way some one could find you be tasteing you, might be if they acidently kissed you" she said considering it would have to be completely on accident. She had figured the danger room could not kill, after all some of those she had seen here were quite young. Still it releived her to know that no one could truely be killed in the room, though it did seem like a place to learn to fight.
"I see" she said, fade was clearly not as far off from mastering things as she thought she might be, which was good, it meant she did have terrabley far to go. She smiled as she heard fade spell some words, really the rest was the same way, seeing and copying how each word was spelled. "Exactly, just as c-a-t spells cat, taking the letter M and putting it in place of the C we get mat a new word, writing it is a bit harder and may be some thing to wait on, but when you watch the news, look at the words you already picked up from it, those symbols are the ones to copy, for example" she said and looked over the ground, standing up, she looked down to the ground, using her power to make several sticks float in the air. The sticks quickly arranged themselfs, forming the letters, M-A-T in the air. She was trying to show how the letters formed.
