It was nice to feel this close to someone, Kealey couldn’t help but think as Jacen reiterated that he was glad. Trust was always a fleeting thing for Kealey because people usually proved themselves untrustworthy. The blond supposed that the same could be true for Jacen, but she was slowly starting to realize that even if a person felt a certain way, didn’t mean they necessarily acted on it. Jacen said that he hoped someday she’d be able to forgive him for what he’d done and she shook her head.
”No more apologies.” Kealey said, ”What’s done is done. The present is far more interesting. ”
Jacen continued speaking, and as his hand moved, Kealey squirmed slightly against him. How was she supposed to listen with his hand drifting like that? He smiled as he talked, and Kealey took that as confirmation that she’d probably said the right thing. His revelation about how he’d felt as he found out the different things about himself was interesting to Kealey and she sympathized with him, to a point. Kealey could barely remember a time when she hadn’t been different, and the realization that she was a mutant had been mild compared to everything else she’d discovered in the same period of time.
Jacen said that there was one important thing that he knew, and Kealey was just about to ask him what it was when he rolled. Before had been one thing, it had been heated and intense and there hadn’t really been room for conscious thought while everything was happening. Now, Kealey was very conscious of the feeling of skin on skin contact as Jacen effectively pinned her into the mattress.
Smiling up at him, Kealey heard his words and gulped a little at the way her heart leaped into her throat when he said that he’d found somewhere to belong with her. She didn’t have a chance to respond, though, because Jacen was kissing her again and it was hard to think about anything, let alone suitable responses to something like that when he kissed her. She did echo the sentiment, though, and settled it into her head to find a way to say or show it later.
Jacen’s kisses moved and Kealey squirmed beneath him, a little mewling sound escaping her lips at the path of the kisses down her neck and over her shoulder. He was talking about the movie, and the strawberries out in the other room. While he was doing that? Truth be told, Kealey didn’t want to go anywhere and she turned her head letting her hands roam as her own lips found the spot between Jacen’s shoulder and neck. ”Well…if you’d rather watch the movie…” she said softly, then returned to her previous actions.
Funny enough, sometime later the strawberries in the living room remained uneaten, the movie unwatched, and the clothes that had piled on the floor completely unused. All these things made it obvious that the path of movie watching and strawberry eating had not been the one taken by the two people still in the bedroom.
