The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Everything seemed to be going fine, Wraith had scouted the area and Hyde was moving in to eliminate the two on the roof. Yet, this flawless execution was soon doomed to failure when a shot could be heard in the distance and then Wraith spoke over the line saying Hyde had been hit. I should have known, Ivan would be prepared! He has to have a infrared scope on a rifle.
He knew there were two options available. He could try to run four blocks and reach Hyde while Wraith found who had the detonator. It was obvious that the detonator would not be one of those on or in the building, but they would be n visual range of the house. Wraith would have to find it before the Ranger reached Hyde and the Ranger would have to reach Hyde before a Ruskii did. The other option was to let Wraith pick up Hyde and reveal his involvement thus removing all secrecy in any approach.
He took a deep breath, he had decided. A risk had to be taken but if Wraith was successful and the Ranger moved fast enough it would work. The Ranger turned and started running towards his house as he spoke to Wraith. "If you pick him up, we lose all of our ability to covertly move around. If I approach the house it will be detonated. The detonator is most likely not in the house but nearby in visual range. Knowing this I am moving to Hyde and have to reach him before he can be brought inside. More than likely they would want him alive for the time being to get him to say where I am. Before I get there you have to find the detonator and incapacitate it's holder, covertly if possible, otherwise he will detonate it and kill both Hyde and I."
His feet pounded the pavement as he now had three blocks to go, his power now enhancing his speed. He was not about to let Hyde die, and he would not let Ivan destroy possibly the whole block.
Hyde was moving in and out of the present. The bullet had grazed his temple. Another inch and he would have not been getting up...ever. Everything was so hazy, and the world was awash in red. A second later there was blackness. Sometime after Flynn opened his eyes once more and there were streaks of proper colors along with the red. Moving his hand across his mask, the wetness came off, smearing itself along his hand and arm. He tried to rise and smacked his head on the undercarriage of the Hummer2. Blackness reclaimed him for another few minutes.
He awoke flat on his back this time. His back wet and slippery from the bloody mess the head wound had become. He prepared to roll out and tried to go invisible; but he was just too pained for it to happen. Flynn decided to roll anyways. As soon as his arm moved out to get himself some leverage, a bullet shot from the roof cracked the concrete just shy of his third digit. Flynn hastily pulled it back in. He couldn't get out from under here and soon enough either someone would come for him or perhaps just throw a grenade under the SUV and end it all in one big bang.
Flynn was running out of options. Ivan had definitely done his homework this time. He grabbed up his ear piece and reached down to his belt for the phone. Damn, It was shattered in the fall and rolling, useless to let his allies know his situation. Popping a member of a group and leaving him pinned down to try and draw out others in the group was a tactic as old as the hills. He hoped his friends weren't trying anything foolish.

"Copy Ranger." Wraith responded as he quickly dismounted his motorcycle and headed for the nearest fire escape. Breaking into a run, he charged upward as he gritted his teeth in concentration. Extending his sonar farther and farther, he made a full 360 degree sweep for 100 yards all around. Maxing out his power like this already had his head pounding but Wraith didn't care. He could "see" Ranger running down the street toward where Hyde was sheltered under an SUV. Up on top of the building the sniper and his spotter remained ready, focusing on the man they had shot earlier.
"But where the hell is the detonator?" Wraith's eyes knitted closed as he ran out onto the roof top. There were people here and there but none that looked like the apropriate target. Continueing his earlier pace, Wraith ran across the roof and then lept over the alley way, clearing it with practiced ease. He was heading the same direction as Ranger, but on a much different path. Suddenly his sonar focused in on what he was looking for. About twenty yards past Hyde was a man that was suddenly looking very intently up the street. Reaching in his coat the man pulled out what looked like a small remote control and Wraith knew that was his target.
Ranger had sped up and was quickly out distancing the other man but Wraith just knew that he had to get in range to take out the control with his sonic blast before Ranger was close enough that the other man chose to detonate. Increasing his speed, Wraith was running all out. The blood was pounding his ears and his breathing was beginning to quicken but he refused to stop. The man was 60 yards away... 50... finally 40. It was his maximum range but that was all he needed. Skidding to a stop on the edge of the roof, Wraith tried to calm his heart rate as he brought his sonar into tight focus on the man's hand. Already he was lifting his arm and his finger was descending to press the button but his movements just couldn't compare to the speed of sound.
The invisible wave lashed out, slamming into the man and his control with all the force of a truck. The remote itself flew back, smashing into a hundred pieces against a nearby wall while the man flew back against a light pole and then collapsed to the ground unconscious.
Dropping into a crouch, Wraith allowed his head to drop as he focused on just breathing and regaining control of his own body. It was up to Ranger to get Hyde out of danger.
Just ahead of him was his street, and on that street Hyde was in trouble and as the Ranger ran he loaded live rounds into both pistols he carried. The Ranger moving his swiftest rounded the corner onto his street and drew both of his pistols. The Ruskii's may be using this to draw him out and that meant he would have to act fast and with extreme force. He moved for the H2 on the street his pistols raised up towards his house. Please God let Wraith have stopped the guy with the detonator!
Mere moments later he saw the flash from the sniper's scope and following a gunshot a bullet nailed the pavement behind the Ranger. I won't be accurate enough to down him from here but I can provide Hyde cover, and I hope the cover he is behind is the H2 and he knows how to hot wire a car.
A second after the sniper squeezed off a round the Ranger acted, he fired off two rounds at the sniper and then yelled, "Hyde! I sure as hell hope that H2 is your cover! I will lay down some fire, you need to hot wire it and get some distance!" The command assumed that Hyde had at least learned how to hot wire a car in his military training or in his civilian life or this will get real bad real fast!
The sniper then leaned back over the roof and was taking aim but then quickly pulled back when the Ranger fired three more rounds at him. Yet, an AK-47 was now sticking out of a window on the second floor and firing at him. To make matters worse he had been running to long and was now growing tired from the drain his power was making on him.
Since no explosion had gone off it was safe to assume that Wraith was successful, the gunfire made it to hard to know if Hyde had heard him. If he had he more than likely needed the cover the Ranger promised, but with guns pointing outside that would be impossible.
"Wraith, make sure Hyde gets out of there okay and keep an eye out for a large bald Russian with a beard. I'm going in to draw the fire away from Hyde completely. If I can make it to my big guns I'll be good." He barked into his headset as he charged the door firing 4 rounds at the hinges breaking them off. He then drops the plowed into his front door busting it down and as he rolled into the living room knocking the gas can placed behind it over. He held out his right hand and fired at the Russian's in the kitchen knowing he would soon be out of live ammo.
Hyde heard the shots firing from the side. At first he thought it was someone coming after him from inside the building. He could still barely see ;but the stars at least were finally retreating. His mask was drenched in blood, soggy and clingy. Drops would run in front of his face every so often, momentarily blinding him. Then he heard Ranger calling out orders. His training didn't include the hot wiring of newer cars that had the chip embedded inside that matched up with a key so hot wiring would be out of the question.
He looked out and up as Ranger popped off another few rounds toward the roof and saw the baddies ducking back in. He rolled out and ran up to the side of Ranger's building, flattening himself against it. He realized that his blue tooth was still active when he heard Ranger shout out thru it to Wraith. 'Good,' Hyde thought to himself, 'I can still contact my friends and give them my situation.
"I'm OK. It's just a flesh wound. Wraith, can you call me out when to move so I can get out from here and take out those rooftop snipers. I'm going to go up on the dining room side so I'll need to know when no one is around the Family room window."
Flynn pulled out a handkerchief from one of his pouches and wiped his wound with it. He was really lucky it hadn't cracked his skull. The ringing in his ears just wouldn't go away but he wasn't letting the other two know about that. He grabbed up his flask and poured some of the alcohol onto the rag and reapplied some pressure. He took a little nip to help dull the pain and put the flask away. He tied the handkerchief around his head to help soak up some blood and waited for the go order.

"Ranger!" Wraith barked, trying to get the man's attention but it was to late. He was already rushing the door and disappearing inside the building. Gritting his teeth Wraith pushed himself and took off running again, quickly mounting the fire escape that would take him back down to ground level.
Doing his best to concentrate and focus, he brought his sonar into a tight stream directly right toward the sniper rifle that was currently causing so much havoc. He couldn't hit the rifle without hitting and probably killing the shooter but he could sure make them duck for cover. Releasing once condensed blast, Wraith sonic blast slammed into the parapet, raining the two men with chunks and sending deep cracks through the surrounding concrete. Immediately the spotter and sniper both dove for cover, shouting in shock about the attack that had come out of nowhere.
"Move Hyde!" The order was shouted out as he broke from the shadows, racing across the street and toward the warehouse. Already a man had jumped up into the front window with a submachine gun in hand but he wouldn't have a chance to fire it. Without slowing down Wraith sent another sound wave racing toward the man, shattering the front glass and sending the man flying backward into the opposite wall.
The sound of gunfire was coming from the house but Wraith still didn't hesitate. Gloves and helmet firmly in place, the man race through the front door and dove into the nearest enemy combatant he could find. Two swift punches left the man unconscious on the ground while Wraith dove behind a sofa for cover.
"Ranger! Don't EVER rush in alone like that!" Wraith yelled as he swept the house with his sonar, trying to re-establish where every person was, "If you work with a team then you bloody well work with your team!"
Jumping to his feet, but keeping low, the Ranger moves toward bar. within a step or two of the bar he straightens up and fires the last few rounds of live ammunition he has on him and slides over the bar pulling a chefs knife out of a block as he slides over. Landing on the other side he can hear people running and shouting all throughout the house. It didn't sound like anyone was in the dining room so this would be a safe place to reload, but only with tanq darts.
Hearing someone burst in from the garage the Ranger stands to fire as another runs down the stairs. At this moment, unexpectedly, the Ranger watches who he assumed to be Wraith, based on the biker apparel, rush in pummels one of them before diving behind the sofa.
"Ranger! Don't EVER rush in alone like that! If you work with a team then you bloody well work with your team!"
"Copy that Wraith." The Ranger responded as he fired a dart at the Ruskii who came from the stairs and then ducked back below the bar. Knowing that he only has a limited supply of darts and a larger number of Ruskiis currently are in his house he has to get into his cache in the kitchen.
"Wraith, I am going to move for my weapons cache here. Let me know if someone is coming from the right as I won''t be able to see that way." Then, looking over the bar he fires a dart at another Ruskii who had entered the living room before moving towards what to the uninformed appeared as faux cabinets. Yet, before doing anything else he stuck the knife he had grabbed out into the dinning room and used it as a mirror. No one presently in that room, but that could change fast so he would have to be faster. He then moved to slide his hand in between the refrigerator and the wood of the cache's hiding place and grabbed the padlock on it. Not having the key he grabbed it tightly and then pulled, hard. His power kicked in and as his muscles enhanced the lock snapped off pulling the wood back and opening it like it was a door.
Behind it was a lead-lined steel gun safe which was locked by a mere single dial lock. The Ranger turned the combination and opened the safe revealing a few sub machine guns some pistol ammunition and flash bangs.
When Wraith gave the go ahead, Hyde moved. He was still trying to clear his head from the bullet grazing he had received. The hero moved to the side of the building, then around it with haste, heading past the door Ranger, and then Wraith had entered. He moved fluidly around and to the side of the building, finding the fire escape so prevalent on these types of city dwellings. Moving quickly he made his way up to the roof, finally regaining enough of his senses to use his ability. It really was tough not being able to make a sound when he was invisible; but in certain cases it worked out to his advantage. Even if the guys could tell he was there with Thermal viewers; if they didn't look his way they certainly wouldn't be able to hear him.
He made it right up next to the two on the roof. Shooter and spotter, although they didn't seem to be as military as Flynn was expecting. That was food, because military training would have dictated a claymore or something near the perimeter to keep things such as Flynn sneaking up on them to a minimum. Two darts to the side of their necks incapacitated them in seconds. He heard the shots from inside the place and moved to the rooftop door.Just as he grabbed the door handle, a loud KWATHOOM sounded from behind him. Flynn turned and looked to see a yellow bolt of electricity move toward and then thru him. The pain was exquisite. Every electrical device he had on him was burned out in an instant, sending a screech of loud static coursing thru the phone setup and into his allies ears. That was the only warning they might have had; that Ivan had arrived. Flynn slumped into unconsciousness. He had been shot in the head and now nearly electrocuted. The mutant would clearly think long and hard about his career choice when he awoke.

Ranger was still working like a loner and Wraith had to just grit his teeth in frustration about the whole situation. THIS was the reason he normally chose to work alone or with people he trusted. He and Sam had a good repoir and he was even willing to work with Hyde but he was deffinately going to have to think about it before he agreed to work with Ranger again.
The other man rushed over to some cabinets and with a crunching sound snapped a lock and then wrenched open what was obviously a gun safe. "Guns... why do people like those things so much?" Wraith muttered under his breath as he reached down to pick up a large piece of broken glass from the front window. His sonar had let him know ahead of time so the machine gun wielding enemy popping through the doorway was no surprise. Without any hesitation the glass was airborne, slicing into the bicep on his gun arm. As he let out a scream of pain, Wraith closed in and punched with a quick one/two combination that sent the man to the floor.
"You almost done there Ranger? We've got more on the way." Wraith called out as he crossed his arms and leaned up against the wall next to the doorway. Before the other man had a chance to respond, a screech of loud static suddenly shot through Wraith's earpiece. The pain was excruciating and he gritted his teeth as his hand moved up under his mask to snap away the offending piece of electronics.
The gun safe opened the Ranger ejected the magazines from his pistols and quickly reloaded the two of them. Setting the two sidearms in the safe he drew out a G36C with a strap attached to it and slung it across his back with the stock behind his right shoulder blade and the end of the barrel down near his left kidney. Then he grabbed a pair of flashbangs out of the safe and slid them into the pockets of his cargo pants, as the Ranger saw it having the ability to incapacitate an enemy would be invaluable when fighting Ivan and his alleged new power was still unknown. Finally he grabbed his pistols as he heard Wraith handle another Russian who had made the mistake of coming after the two of them inside the house.
"You almost done there Ranger? We've got more on the way."
The Ranger holstered one of the two pistols as Wraith asked him the question, and just as he was about to respond he heard a loud, staticy blast come from his earpiece. The sound was similar to when a line is cut, but much louder. The Ranger grabbed the earpiece and threw it off,
"What in **** was that!" The Ranger turned to look at Wraith, he assumed something had happened to Hyde...something bad. "Wraith, I think that something happened to Hyde. Since you can see the whole area of operation what course of action do you advise?"
((OOC: Just as a note, in the end I want the building to be destroyed by one means or another))
<Since I'm out for a bit, I figured I'd get us to the main battle>
The lights dimmed for a moment all within the building. A second later they all began glowing brighter and brighter, until each exploded into a hundred glass shards trying to handle the wattage being forced thru their vacuum seal. All the appliances started up as well. The TV began getting louder and louder as it switched between channels. a blender in the kitchen could be heard whizzing about even though there was no one to turn it on, nor contents in it's plastic casing. A computer started up for a minor moment before the CPU burnt out from the power overload. Everything built to a deafening crescendo; and then one by one, all the appliances burnt out until all that was left was silence.
As soon as Wraith and Ranger had relaxed for a second though, the walls themselves started popping. Electric current followed the various wire lines behind the drywall , burning from the inside out. The electrical combustion started encircling the two, herding them both closer toward each other. Out of a socket in a wall, Lightning shot out, whirling about onto itself and coalescing, solidifying, into Ivan.
"Ahh Comrade Michael, we meet once more. This time will be your last I assure you. What is it you Americanizes say? Ah yes, the third time, it is the charmer." He held up his hand and electrical energy crackled and hissed. "I have put down your invisible hunter, I see you have gained more of the costumed heroes for allies that this city is noted for. They will no help you. I will be taking your lives now comrades." With that, Ivan's upper torso turned into pure electrical power, and he pointed his arms toward each of his enemies...and shot bolts of electrical energy at them both.

"Why in the world did I ever get involved?" Wraith berated himself rather viciously as he turned to face Ranger. It wasn't because he was afraid of a fight, or even afraid of dieing, but he was used to working with people that worked together. Hyde and Ranger did everything but work together. If they had been working together they would have stormed the building as a trio taking out enemy agents along the way. Once on the roof they would have disabled the snipers and it would have been wrapped up in a nice pretty package.
It was tempting, oh so tempting, to make a sarcastic comment but Wraith refrained. Narrowing his eyes in concentration he extended his sonar to envelop the whole building, sweeping the area. "Hyde's on the roof either unconscious or dead. The rest of the targets are leaving the building for some reason. Why in the world..." He asked out loud as he tried to process what he was seeing. But then, what he was seeing didn't really matter.
Every electrical item in the house suddenly went crazy until one by one they blew out. Moments later the walls began to burn, the acrid smell of toasted drywall and metal wiring filling Wraith's nose before something suddenly lept out of a socket in the wall. Before he could really understand what he was seeing, the mysterious substance solidified into a man with a very bad Russian accent.
"Ranger... you owe me when this is done." Wraith muttered as he turned to face this new enemy. Already he could hear the sizzle of electricity and see the power that arced back and forth from the man's fingertips. This was an enemy like nothing Wraith had ever seen or dealt with before. "And my communicator is back out on my bike... wonderful." He thought to himself as he went into a crouch, ready to react no matter what happened.
Suddenly power soared through the air, frying air molecules and making the room stink like burnt ozone. Diving to the side, Wraith once again found himself taking cover behind the couch. "Ranger! Get to the kitchen if you can!" Wraith yelled as an idea popped into his head. Suddenly rising from his crouched position the costume clad figure dove through the doorway out into the hallway, barely avoiding the lightning bolt that was just behind him, "NOW!"
