The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Water. The chemical substance that is essential for the survival of all known living organisms and covering 71% of the Earth's surface. The element associated with life because no living creature can survive without it and the ocean was where life started in the first place. Despite the prejudice going on in the world between humans and mutants, one thing for certain is that our roots both come from the sea and with out precious H2O, none of us would be here. Water is symbol present in all cultures. Mostly associated with healing, cleansing, purification and also tied with passion and emotion. While water grants life it can easily cause death and destruction. One minute a river is flowing and calm and the next, it can raise, washing through the land drowning and crushing anything in its path. It is unpredictable and variable and Arielle was gifted with the ability to become this element. The power to flow through the tiniest crevices and go anywhere she desired. The power to torrent and crush anything and anyone that got in her way.
For awhile, Arielle had been taking her abilities for granted. After having been frozen by Sam during his battle with Aiden, she kind of believed her powers to be sort of pathetic if she could be put out of commission so easily by Jack Frost. That doesn’t just go for ice manipulators? Suppose she was to face someone who could manipulate heat and she get evaporated? And she didn’t even want to discuss electricity. It’s true that everyone had their weaknesses, but she wasn’t one to put up with defeat well. A lessoned learned from almost being killed by that brat with the aura blades. Another reason why she hasn’t been so gung ho for action. However, one can only hide for so long and if she ever wanted to be a full fledged X-man, she’d have to get her shit together and get herself back on course. Aiden returning was a very good start because she wasn’t stuffing herself with ice cream and watching Lifetime anymore. Her spirits were high once again and now she was ready to continue on with her training. It had been weeks… a month or more since she even had a good work out and there was no way she would get stronger by waiting for it to happen. The girl knew she had to start putting in work again. Everyone else did and were getting stronger with their powers and hell to the no, she wasn’t about to be the runt of the X-men litter.
One way to start to beef up her powers was to study her element and herself in motion, so Arielle suited up for a work out. Nothing fancy, just a black tank top, black short shorts, a pair of black fingerless gloves and some sneakers and her curly black hair tied back into a pony tail. Entering the Danger Room, Arielle immediately made her way up to the control room. Hopefully, the couple sessions she did have in it had been recorded and she would be able to view the tapes. She found the one of her first ever Danger Room session, the capture the flag simulation she had with Nathan, Ghost and Shin. She hit the play button on the screen and started to view it.
“Heh, wow…” she chuckled to herself as she saw Shin and herself walk into the session Ghost had already in play. Shin being knocked in the gut by a droid and her being knocked in the back of her by a flying piece of debris. She grinned watching the Shin’s glass shards shred through the robots and Ari herself dealing crushing blows with her water form. She used to wonder why she couldn’t just manipulate water instead of becoming it. When she thought more about it, becoming a crushing tidal wave was much more interesting than just making one. Looking at the screen she watched more as the robots dealt what would have been death blows to Arielle had she not been it liquid form. Another plus to her power was that aside from the few weaknesses she did have, she was pretty much unable to be physically harmed and unstoppable apparently by the way she was slicing through the bots with her whipped, high steamed limbs and how she was pounding the bots into the danger room walls. She stopped the video, having seen enough and decided that it was time to do add new footage to the awesome that was named Arielle Monteiro.

Leaving the control room, Arielle made her way down into the main room, taking a seat on the cold metal floor. It was always important to get a good stretch in before a work out, even if she was probably the most flexible person in the mansion because of her gift, she didn’t want to risk pulling a muscle in her human form should she need to revert back to it during her exercise. She laid her back with both knees bent and your feet flat on the floor. Taking one foot off the floor, she brought her knee to her chest, pulling it gently with both hands and repeated with the other leg. A few more routines to get her limbs loose and the water elemental hopped back on her feet, ready for some action. She paused for a minute however wondering if training alone without supervision was a good idea. I mean, there was no way she would die during a simulation…as far as she knew anyway.
“Nah, I’ll be fine.” She said setting a hand on her hip. She was tough and would be able to handle herself alright. Cracking her knuckles and then her neck and deep breath she was ready to start, but had no clue on what scenario she could try. “Computer…umm…surprise me! Difficult setting!” she said in a chipper tone confident that she’d be able to take on whatever the Danger Room would throw at her. Her surroundings changed, as she felt the temperature immediately rise. The setting she stood in was very familiar, but then again it wasn’t. Arielle found herself standing in the middle of Times Square, though it wasn’t the busy tourist hot spot it normally was. In fact, there were no people around at all. The buildings were crumbling apart, streets littered with debris, vehicles flipped over, and bodies dangling from the broken windows and flames trailing along the side walks and flickering from atop, inside and surrounding structures. The scent of blood and seared flesh lingered in the air along with the smoke rose from the fires.
“Seriously…when I said surprise me, I didn’t mean send me to hell…” Arielle sighed pinching her nose for she didn’t particularly care for the smell of what seemed to be Armageddon she was standing in the middle of. That or a zombie apocalypse. Expecting the latter, Arielle waiting for a bunch of mindless walking corpses to come scurrying out to nom on her brains, or try to. She heard foot steps alright…but not the kind she was expecting. These foot steps…shook the entire block. Enough of a warning for her to go into liquid form and so she did. A bright flash of red streaked through the sky and collided with Hard Rock café building, sending it ablaze and its contents exploding and its debris flying out in all directions. The ‘Hard’ portion of the sign went barreling through the air and smashing into the humanoid liquid figure.
During regular circumstances when this happened to a regular person, it would result in their death, but hurray for being completely made of water for instead of going into the after life, Arielle’s liquid particles merely splashed in across the city’s streets. Nothing serious, she was a okay and she wasted no time literally pulling herself back together. Though she was also pondering on what exactly was the cause of that explosion? It was obviously a laser, but what fired it? And the giant food steps? She could hear them getting closer as the ground shook harder with each step taken. No human could walking could cause the ground to rattle like that…unless they were freaking huge. It reminded her more of a monster movie, like Godzilla or something. The closer the foot steps came, the more Arielle began to realize that they weren’t being made by an organic creature. She heard clanking, metal striking the earth. In fact, it was terribly familiar and as she began to register what it was…a look of worry came over her face. Metal foot steps, lasers, crap blowing up...
“Oh god…” she said looking up and could see it coming into view. That same thing she had faced during her final trial with Streak for her test to become a trainee. One of those jacked up, fugly megazord gundams…or as Streak called it: A Sentinel.
