The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Hyde came to on a stretcher. The micro mesh Kevlar had saved his life, not allowing the three bullets to pierce into his stomach. Of course, he would be sore for days; but being alive worked in a pinch. He saw that Ranger had taken care of the bad guy, the leader of them all. As soon as Hyde was in the ambulance and the paramedics turned their heads, Hyde went invisible. He worked his way back out. He couldn't take the chance that his past could catch up with him.
Hyde had given Ranger his throw away number so he could wait for his call. He couldn't stick around now. If Ranger had contacts, well good for him. He wished he could make other people invisible, so he could allow Ranger the anonymity he could achieve. Hyde moved invisibility and silently into the area right outside the gate, now open because of Emergency Response Teams and Police Officers. He took out his flask and had a sip as he watched it all go on.
He wanted to see how Ranger worked the crowd. He needed to see if perhaps Ranger would be a good contact with the people of the city. Having met Wraith and now finding another super powered individual; Flynn was thinking of putting them together in some sort of grouping. A fledgling organization that could combat Evil in it's myriad shapes...it's plethora of possibilities...it's untold suffering that such a group could combat. Yes...perhaps this was one.
And what might Zahira think of such a thing. Would he even tell her of his dual life. How would she take it. Flynn wondered if it might spook her from being around him. It was finally, and rather quickly in the thought of how long he had worn the costume, time to decide if it should be kept from his friend or not. The decision would weigh heavily on Flynn in the time to come.
Wraith had some quality that made him a little bit more to the hero. Flynn wasn't blind, he figured that much, He couldn't quite place his finger on it; but he knew there was something. He knew Ranger had abilities. The two of them might actually get along, which was definitely a plus. It would be nice to find someone with some range or invulnerability, to at least bullets, to make a good squad. Well, maybe one of them could help find someone who had such qualities, if it came to that. Either way, he would learn from seeing how Ranger handled this situation here ad now.
After the Ranger is lifted into an ambulance the paramedics begin their work on fixing up his arm and assessing his vitals. They have been instructed to stay on the scene unless their patient is in dire condition. As they work Kurt climbs up into the ambulance and, staying out of the way of the paramedics, informs the Ranger of the situation and what is going to follow.
"Well that is one mess you and your friend left here. Hard to believe it was just the two of you, but I guess with that gift of yours and your combat skill it'd take an army to take you out." He chuckles. "But seriously, that is amazing that you took down Ivan. We have been trying to get to him for months!"
The paramedics finish with their bandaging and test and Kurt motions for them to leave. When they have left he leans in and talks much quieter.
"Here is the thing, even if I make it look like you and your friend weren't here it would still look bad to have some random person here. I need something I can show to make it appear someone was here that their actions, and use of firearms, are allowed within their position."
The Ranger reaches into his jacket pocket and grabs the tan beret and hands it to Kurt. "Say it was a pair of army soldiers, at least one of them a Ranger." Kurt takes the beret and nods his head.
"Alright, that'll work. Now about Ivan, he is not dead. Yet, he is in a transport convoy at this moment, they just left, and he will be taken to Guantanamo Bay until it is closed at which point he will be moved to Syria where he can be subjected to enhanced interrogation techniques to force him to squeal on his whole organization." He puts his finger to his ear listening to a message over the radio. "It appears your friend has vanished."
"Heh, yeah. He does that." The Ranger sits up. "And I guess that will work, I had hoped he had died but I guess this way intel can be procured from him."
"Now, you need to get out of here with as few people seeing you as possible. Only a few have seen you and as far as I can tell only I have met you before. Lets keep it that way. And by the way, don't get in to much trouble in the future, I am only so far up the command chain."
He thanks Kurt for his help and then gets up and jumps out of the ambulance. After landing realizes jumping was a bad idea, he may be bandaged but still far from healed. He looks to his left and can see the emergency workers and FBI taking care of the situation, thus keeping their attention off him. He looks to the right and can see no one so he sneaks off toward an alley. He ducts into the alley and begins to make his way a few blocks down to where he had parked his bike. On the way he takes out his phone, somehow it still worked after todays events. He disabled the scramble application and called Hyde thinking, I guess he has earned the right to my number.
"Well, I said afterwards drinks are on me. Up for one?"
