The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Mega looked up at the building before him with a sort of quizical look on his face. Despite having a cybernetic implant which allowed him to think ten times faster then the average human, he still felt like he hadn't run through enough scenarios of what could go wrong. Then after a moment he took a deep breath, and instead considered the possability that there were to many possible things that 'could' go wrong and that he shouldn't worry about it.
No sense in worrying about something that hasn't even happend yet. With this in mind, he boldly walked through the grounds gate and up to the door where he gave it a couple strong knocks. Metal meeting wood should be loud enough for just about anyone to hear... but just to make sure he looked about for a doorbell. Finding none he realized how absurd it seemed that a school of this kind would have a door bell.
Finding no answer yet, he knocked alittle harder which shook the door on it's hinges...
Tricity shuffled through the halls in her black, fuzzy slippers when she heard the doorbell ringing. She sighed, now that the guest would be taking her away from the hot chocolate she was dying to have. Turning the corner, Tricity was startled as a loud banging followed a few moments after and just before she put her hand on the doorknob to open the doors. She turned her head to the left and used the surge in the wall to gather electricity in her body in case the visitor wasn't going to be friendly. She cautiously opened the door and looked out toward the figure standing there, pulling her satin robe tighter around her.
"Yes. Atleast I hope so," Mega began, a red glow coming to life just behind the white of his eyes for a breif moment by his infared sensors scanning for anything usual. Thus far he only detected a rise in electromagnetic energy radiating from her. "This is Xavier's institute for gifted youngsters... correct?" he inquired arching an eyebrow quizically.
"Yes, this is the place," she hesitated. Tricity saw the glow from the young man's eyes and a possible electric current coming from him as well, though she couldn't be sure.
"Please, come in." Tricity pulled the double doors open further to let him inside and into the front hallway. She turned to the side table and picked up one of the several 'new resident' packets from the pile and handed it to him. "These are a few papers to fill out in order to stay here. It's manditory for everyone..." She beckoned him forward further into the mansion and then stopped and turned to him. "I have to ask you an important question and I need you to explain thoroughly. What is your mutation and is it dangerous to anyone else or even yourself?" She was thoroughly intrigued with this young man. 'What's with him? He's so...strange.'
"Of course," Mega started as he began to fill out the needed forms mechanically. Hearing her other question he promptly said, "Essentially, I can manipulate any and all technological devices. Such as change the channel on the TV without having to use the remote," he started before turning a page over to the next one.
"And it can be deadly to me... only if I were to use my brainwaves to cause the cybernetic implants in my brain to suddenly explode or the like. It can also harm others with a pace maker I suppose. I have control over it so I don't see that happening," he concluded, pausing from his writeing to look about at his surroundings. Then he went back finishing the rest of that page.
Tricity eyebrow raised a bit as she listened to his explanation of his mutation. 'Much like my own,' she thought. But when the mention of cybernetic implants came to her ears, Tricity suddenly put a hand up to stop him.
Mega looked up for a moment and said, "I'm not entirely certain..." he said blinking for a moment trying to remember if there was something the base was called. "A government facility... that is all I can give you. They were going to also add something to control my mind... but lets just say that didn't work out for them," he said in a melancholy tone of voice.
Curious, he ventured and asked, "Any specific reason why you wanted to know?"
"Because that sounds like one of the problems we just dealt with...A man named General Whitmore and Fusionist. Presently, we are still trying to find all the people working for them because they are doing experiments on mutants just like the ones you've mentioned," she explained, continuing down the hallway. "I'm guessing you lost your memory then?"
"Only some of it. Much of it was lost during the surgery to put the implant in my brain in. My real name for instance... and my family if I had one are missing from my memory," he replied, feeling a sense of sadness cover him breifly. It wasn't visable in his face, but his eyes would say differently as he finished filling out the forms; reading over what he wrote for errors on his part.
"Just so you know... the implant in my brain is what causes me to be able to manipulate TVs and other manner of technology," he added as he held out the finished forms for her.
"So...what makes you a mutant? Did you have some healing ablility that helped your survive the surgery?" She asked, taking the forms from him and holding them in her arms.
Mega blinked and was mentally caught off guard by this question. He hadn't thought about it, but his implant was only responsable for his being able to manipulate technology on a indirect level. "Actually... it was the thing that mutated my brainwaves to be able to manipulate anything. Was meant only to boost my reflexes and thinking capability, but for whatever reason I developed the ability soon afterward," he replied finally.
"Which only prompted them to add infared sensors and other eletrical equipment..." he muttered wincing alittle.
"So, I'm not sure I quite understood that, but ok," she said with a slight laugh. "Well, anyway...you can pick any empty room that's on the second floor to the left wing. That's the boys' side of the dormitories. To the right are the girls and the center is for the older adults and also has the infirmary in case you're ever sick or hurt and what not. Um, do you have any questions?"
"I'll keep that in mind. Thank you," Mega replied with a smile. "On another note... if you need something fixed or fine tuned, just let me know," he added as he headed for the stairs to find a room for himself.
