The winter as passed and now it is spring. Form the dance Kasumi has not been wearing her sweat shirt. She closes her eyes as she feels the sun on her skin it feels nice. She has on a white tank top that is right above her belly button showing off her spots. She has on tan saddles as she looks at a big tree she soon smiles as she nods to herself she has been looking at the tree for a while. This is going to be the day to clime it. She did not care if she was seen. Her hair is down today.

Soon she slips off her saddles she moves as she bends back some popping her spine as she smiles more. Kasumi closes her eyes even with her powers climbing this tree will take a while and that is something that she wanted. She closes her eyes as she nods.

Soon Kasumis hands rests on the truck of the tree. Soon she starts to clime the tree. With in an hour she is half way form the top as she smiles and looks up. This is not to bad. She moves up more well something happens to her that she did not know.

Kasumi is now on a breach that is way out she hears a odd cracking sound. She looks around as she blinks soon the breach gives under her feet. Kasumi feels her heart beating fast as she starts to fall she has nothing to grab on too. Oh this is going to hurt she thinks to herself. She turns her body in mind air so she can land like a frog she has nothing to do but to land like this right now.

The day had started out like most others, see what was going on around the house organize this or that and see what the other card carrying members were up to, not a lot was going on today so he went jogging to work on his agility something he could admittedly use some work on. He went to his room and put on a black jogging suit that had little white lines. He only had one and wasn’t sure if he liked it.

Abyss was out playing a little game called scar the locals it was easy enough when you were six foot nine Red and had a tail. He wore a black jogging suit and was jogging through the park. That’s all it took, every so often someone would round a corner and jump clear off the path when they saw him, he would laugh and keep on jogging. It was simple, and fun, lots of fun.

He continued down the path and slowed a little as he heard a slight crack, he tilted his head jogging in place. He stopped all together then listened al little closer. What was that sound?

A few days into his stay in New York City and Bear feels like he's on top of the world, he has a place to stay, a possible job in the future and a good friend in Meld and a new friend in Calley. It seemed, as Bear would have it, that this very day was a good day to go out and explore a little, take in the exhaust filled, fresh air of New York City. A deep breath, followed by heavy coughing and gagging and wheezing, bad idea to take a deep breath in the middle of the city. Somewhere where there was fresh air? "Central Park!" Bear exclaimed loudly to himself, startling the people around him. "Heh..." He looks around sheepishly before walking down the street and heading in the direction of Central Park.

After a while, Bear arrived just outside central park, he looked around slowly, seeing the many trees and a smile crept across his face. He slowly began his trench coat wearing trek into the park, a few minutes and a couple hundred feet in, Bear saw something he never expected to see... Back home... A man in a jogging suit with a freaking tail. A little closer to the rather large jogging man and Bear could tell one other defining factor, he had a tail AND WAS RED. Bear couldnt believe his eyes, laughing lightly to himself, he turns to leave and mind his own business when he hears a cracking sound off in the direction of the big red guy. No way, he must've like punched the tree or something...

Bear turns around slowly to check on the big guy, only to see him jogging in place and looking up, Bear's gaze followed his up, only to see a girl falling out of the tree. "HEY WATCH OUT!" Bear tries to run over to save the girl or the guy, whichever one needed to be saved, but with a lack of pain, Bear wasnt going to be fast enough to get there in time.

Kasumi soon makes her landing she mutters to herself "Damn evil tree trying to kill me.." Then it dawns on her she is not on thr ground she is on someones shoulder. A big red guy she is stunned. Kasumi lets out a high pitched squeak "I am so sorry.. I was trying to land on the ground. Are you ok?" She is sitting on his shoulder like a frog would.

Soon Kasumi starts to blush as the state of shock starts to set in. She did not mean to land on him she really did not mean to. But she kind of did. She does not know what to do right now. She is just sitting there. Some of her long red hair hangs over her eyes as she looks at him with her eyes the teal green eyes as she speeks in a high pitch voice "I am so sorry please forgive me.." She has no idea what to do she has never landed on anyone in her life. This man will be the first.

Soon she sees another man oh great. She just wants to crawl into a hole right now and die. She did not know this was not going to happen to her. She would not of got out of bed today. All Kasumi can feel is her heart beating in her chest. She is still stunned and shocked right now she has the deer in the head light look at this time.

**"HEY WATCH OUT!"

Abyss looked left then right and then sent a puzzled look at the man running at him and then finally it dawned on him to look up. He wasn’t the type to dodge thins, if something wanted to make the mistake of hitting him well, it woud have the pleasure of finding out what it ran into. He tensed his legs slightly just incase the off chance someone was using a bulldozer or a wrecking ballin the park, maybe cutting down the tree?

He managed to give a little to make it so that he took some of the landing an not making it just as bad or worse on the young woman as hitting the ground would have been. A loud smack occurred when her little hands and feet smacked up against his bright red flesh. It didn’t hurt so much as it stung. And there was the factor of surprise. He blinked his eyes. And then he grinned, she had gotten him, he was now one billion surprises to one surprised. He was out startling humans and this little woman had managed to get the better of him. She also managed to stick the landing, he was about to flail about to try to catch her but it was unnessacary.

~~"Damn evil tree trying to kill me.." "I am so sorry.. I was trying to land on the ground. Are you ok?"

He noted the lovely tale tale signs that spotted across some of her flesh proclaim her a mutant. “I am fine, are you? Didn’t sprain anything?”

~~"I am so sorry please forgive me.."

“Forgiven. I am Abyss, and you are?” he held out a large hand to shake her own tiny one. It was a bit awkward to shake the hand of someone on your shoulder.

He turned toward the man who would have made it just too late and nodded and said a small “thanks.” The guy wasn’t so bad, pleny of newyorkers wouldn’t have bother with either of the mutants hoping that it went bad enough to take out two birds with one stone.

Bear got there just in time to watch the girl land firmly on the shoulder of the big man, both of them surprised in their own right but neither seeming to be hurt. Bear let out a light sigh of relief as he relaxed a bit, hoping he didnt have to try running into a brick wall or something. Said brick wall being a 7 foot red monkey man, wow, what a coincidence.

What? Is he trying to be rude or a prick? No... Of course he isnt... It wasnt said in a snide way, he probably meant it, if only a little. "Yeah, no problem, you two are alright... Right? I mean... No broken shoulder or broken hand or anything like that?" Bear couldnt help but mention the hand after seeing the sheer size difference between the girls hand and the monkey man hand. Wait, that name, it sounded familiar, that's right, Bear had been reading up on Mutant Activities and watching the news, Abyss... Abyss... Gah he couldnt place it... WAIT! He's one of those mutant activists that doesnt.... Like.... Humans... Much... Bear blinked lightly and took a couple steps back, trying to get out of the big mans space, knowing he looked a lot like the things this man was fighting against.

"Well... Uh.... Y'know... I've read about you a bit... Dont you think the way you're handling things is wrong? I mean... You are killing humans that havent done anything yet... What's up with that? You just simply hate humans for no reason? Also, what have you acheived so far? I havent seen anything... I mean, you do all this stuff and make NO progress towards mutant rights... Heck, you're almost negating any progress that mutants have made in general with some of the blatant attacks you're making.."

Kasumi looks at Abyss as she smiles and shakes her head "I am fine you can say I am use to falls like this but not landing on anyone." She smiles more soon she takes his hand. Goodness her hand is so small "Nice to meet you I am Kasumi.." She smiles more "I better get off of you.." She soon does a black flip and lands on her feet softly "You can say I have the powers of a poison tree frog. I was climeing the big tree when a big branch gave away under my feet."

Soon she looks at Bear and smiles to him "Thank you for caring." Then what is what is being said. Oh no a fight she did not like the way that this is going. She was not sure what to do. As she stands there kind of stunned. Soon her eyes looks back to Abyss he does not seem like the kind yet she just met him. She knows some mutants do not like humans. She speaks "It could be based on Abyss pasted. You have no idea what the humans did to him. Why say such mean things to him?"

Kasumi will stand up for other mutants she herd of what happened to other mutants. They was not good things so they had there rights to feel like that twords humans. If that happened to Abyss then he has every right to his feelings. Humans does not like mutants just becomes they are not the same. Kasumi hated that and she will not other judge people that they do not know also.

~~"I am fine you can say I am use to falls like this but not landing on anyone."

“Oh, well No harm done here.”

~~ "I better get off of you.." "You can say I have the powers of a poison tree frog. I was climeing the big tree when a big branch gave away under my feet."

“ah, well be careful, it’d be unfortunate to hurt your self.

“Yeah, we’re good.” Geez, there is no problem, quit with the frickin trying to give first aid.

Abyss ears perked and he held his tongue and stayed his hand. Maybe this little human had something positive to say.

SO, Disrespectful. the white knuckles on his left hand that were typically red loosened an his hand raised an with a flick of his wrist, that was relatively gentle, he back handend the man. The small slap and ease that he did that with churned out inhuman strength. The petty blow easily equated out to being hit by a few line backers at full force. He was being merciful. He turned away from the dealt with human and faced the frog girl.


“I apologize Kasumi for acting so within mere seconds of our introduction, I am afraid I have very little tolerance for Fools.” He paused as if it were the most natural thing in the world to have to bring others to justice and cause them to heel to your presence. “ So Tell me Kasumi, How is New York treating you, well other than the trees.” He said the last with a coy smile.

"Well I'm j-" At this moment the back of the hand of the monkey man comes across the face of Bear, the strike is hard and cruel, any mere human would not be getting up from this hit. The hit having sent Bear tumbling head over heels, slamming into a large tree and stopping him dead in his tracks. The pain is immense in his face and the rest of his body before it slowly dissipates and he can feel himself getting stronger, he plants his hands on the ground and pushes himself up to a kneeling position. "Abyss!" Bear growls lightly under his breath, hoping to stop the pair from walking away.

Bear gets up quickly and turns to face the pair of fellow mutants, he rubs his jaw simply out of habit and walks up to the two. "I was just saying that because I want mutant rights as well... And I figure there's gotta be a better way to go about it... That's all... Well, fighting is the ONLY way, but... I dunno..." Bear grumbles to himself a moment before letting out a sigh, hoping not to get attacked again.

Wait, was Bear admitting to being a mutant again, he couldnt believe the words coming out of his mouth, the things he was saying seemed very frightening for some reason. "Err... Uh... I mean..." Bear looked away from the two, suddenly not wanting to admit to what he was again. His brain and his heart always fighting with each other for control over his mouth, his brain telling him being a mutant was bad, and his heart telling him being a mutant was perfection in and of itself. The permanent victor would be apparent within a matter of days for Bear, and for all mutants who could use his abilities, it's only a thing of hope that his heart wins the battle.

Kasumi stands there stunned and kind of shocked and what just happened. But Bear was asking for it also. She does not see Abyss out of place. Soon she shakes her head as she smiles some "That is alright." She nods some as she keeps on speeking "I rember when my powers just came out and a man attacked me just because I was mutant. My father was ready to keep me safe that is when we found out about my poison. To my father she thought that man should of died. Even if my dad is human he does not think that hate will work for bring mutants out in the open.."

Soon Kasumi hears Bears words "You are a mutant also? Then why say things like this? There is alot of humans hate us just becues we are mutants. We did not ask for this yet we are and they think that they have a right to attack and hurt us becues we are not "normal"! We have a right to keep ourselves safe that is what I think. Bad things have happened to some mutants I have herd some very bad things... Things that would make you hate humans... That does not give you the right to attack someone that has got hurt in the past."

She narrows her eyes Kasumi starts to let her poisons go out of anger and fear she does not know why she is scared. There is a part of her that will always be scared of the humans and be hurt by them. She has been attacked alot by them "You have to understand they will not take use for who we are no matter what good we do.. I mean they will see us as mutants not like them.. We are worse then they are." She shakes her head as she looks down "Even if my mom and dad says that my powers are a blessing I wounder what good I can do if people do not want help with them?" She looks back to Abyss with her eyes as she nods to him "We can not let others think bad of use. We are black sheep and we have to make our own herd." Kasumi soon smiles that is what her mother told her and she will carry that with her.always.

~~"That is alright."

~~"I remember when my powers just came out and a man attacked me just because I was mutant. My father was ready to keep me safe that is when we found out about my poison. To my father she thought that man should of died. Even if my dad is human he does not think that hate will work for bring mutants out in the open.."

“An unfortunate truth. But will they change their minds if simply pull them out of there sorrows? Time after time they hate us for helping.”

**"Well I'm j-" "Abyss!"

“intriguing, he glanced at the marks in the dirt where the grass and ground where ripped up by his minor attack. That is impressive.” He complemented hios for and mre so he just kept on talking as if it was water under the bridge.

** "I was just saying that because I want mutant rights as well... And I figure there's gotta be a better way to go about it... That's all... Well, fighting is the ONLY way, but... I dunno..."

** "Err... Uh... I mean

“You contradict yourself, Mr ?” He put his hand out waiting for an introduction. “Tell me of this better way and I will tell you when I tried it and it how it failed.”


~~"You are a mutant also? …~~…make our own herd."

“This is true, so true that even though the wolves are busy preying on the white flock, we must still stay vigilant against the wolvs and show them we are not mere sheep but rams as well. The three of us stand here free as the next person, up until someone notices that we are mutants, something imidiate for the pair of us, perhaps that is why you have the luxury of hope.” He spoke to bear now cordially.

"Yeah... I guess I do contradict myself... My name is Bear... Call me Bear..." He let out a sigh, looking around the park, knowing no normal human would have gotten up from a blow to the face by Abyss. "I guess I'm not too comfortable with being a mutant sometimes... I mean, I know I can hide unlike you two, I can walk around normal and people wont notice me... But, I'm afraid that they will... And I'm afraid of what's going to happen if they do..." Bear lets out a light sigh, shifting his feet around beneath him as he listens to the young girl talk.

"I guess you're right..." Bear pauses a moment and looks at the girl, not really giving it a second thought until this very moment. "KASUMI! Oh hey! I remember you, remember me? From the bar?" Bear smiled lightly, tapping on his chest, as if that'd help her remember him... "I got that gash on my arm, remember?" Bear smiles lightly, at least he was talking to someone he had already met before, aside from this Abyss character who alone had a very demanding presence. "But yeah... I dunno... The make your own herd thing... I see that's what The Order is trying to do... But all I've seen lately from them is a lot of violence and human killing sprees..." Bear cringes and braces for a hit. "I guess the reason I said the things I did, Abyss and Kasumi, is because I want to see the order make more progress than they have the past couple months." Bear sighs lightly, "I dont want to be afraid of being found out for what I am..." At that moment, the adrenaline began to wear off from Bear's anger at being hit and he drops to a knee, holding his head in his hands as the pain from the hit rushes into his head all at once, he lets out a stomach curdling scream of pain, not having realized how much it really hurt to have Abyss hit him.

Kasumi looks to Bear and nods "Yes that bar fight with the drink guy that can turn into a cat.. I got slapped.." She shakes her head and smiles "But we have out own way of doing things.. That is what I am saying I can not side with what they are doing but I am not standing around and doing nothing also. You sound not Bear.."

Kasumi looks at him soon the scram comes she runs to him. Soon she is at his side she blinks a few times "It is alright." She rubs his forehead softly. not sure what to do about this tears comes to her eyes as she looks at Abyss "What do we do?" There is fear in her voice as she speeks soon she looks back to Bear. She holds him in her arms as tears runs down her cheeks. She hates to see others in pain and she can not do anything about it "What can I do?" She thinks over and over in her mind she can not come up with anything.

Abyss argued. “there are a couple of things I strongly disagree with. They have you thinking that walking around mutant isn’t Normal. It is. It is more then normal it is natural. They can’t handle it and that is their problem not yours, friend. More so apparently you have little to fear indeed. If you can take a swing of my arm well I don’t know that humans with weapons could do much worse.”

**"I guess you're right..." "KASUMI! Oh hey! I remember you, remember me? From the bar?" "I got that gash on my arm, remember?”

Abyss raised his eyebrows in surprise, how he was just noticing and recognizing the pretty little thing near him he didn’t know.

“You have little reason to fear me now, I have more respect for the opinion of one of us evn if misguided. I suppose none of the media you were reading mentioned that the majority of those so called sprees were initiated by anti mutant extremist groups that got in too deep and didn’t like the result of facing off with their betters..”


** "I guess the reason I said the things I did, Abyss and Kasumi, is because I want to see the order make more progress than they have the past couple months." "I dont want to be afraid of being found out for what I am..."


~~"It is alright." "What do we do?" "What can I do?"

“Bear If you’ll agree to it enter the void, the pain will recede temporarily and by the time it returns I should have you to our resident healer. Kasumi you are welcome to join us and in te void if you like..”

He opened the void and offered what he could as an apology, he also had some questions as to why Bear was as informed as he was to the order. If he was a dangerous source well perhaps he might just stay in the void until he was properly reeducated..

Bear groaned lightly, clutching at the side of his face, he felt like his skull had be crushed in and couldnt believe he didnt feel it in the least. He heard something about a void as Kasumi was rubbing his head, he gave a sigh before lurching forward and falling into the void that Abyss was talking about. "I feel pain after the fact... I can take a...." He lets out a groan again. "Hit, and it will hurt a bit for a few moments but then it will stop hurting and I can get up... And fight if need be..." Bear could feel the pain in his head lessening as he laid down in the void, agony spreading over his body.

"I get stronger with damage done to my body but that hit, it feels like broke my jaw or something.... It hurt so bad... It always hurts bad for the first few moments after my lack of pain wears off..." Bear closes his eyes and thinks back to all the times he's had this stuff happen to him. He's trying to keep his mind busy, the tiger falling on him, the ability wears off and he collapses, the knife in his shoulder, the ability wears off and he's in agony from all the hits he took prior. It was like, any damage he took while in a fight was still damage, but he couldnt feel it until after the fight... When he was calmed down... Then, at that point, everything hits him all at once, causing the immense amount of pain he constantly goes through when this stuff happens.

"I dont know the full extent of my ability, never really got the chance to check it out fully... It's just something that I have used in the past when I had problems... People jumping me and my friend, stuff like that... I dont know what it's all about or why I have this ability, I just know I do..." Bear sighs as he rests in the void, waiting to get to the healer to get patched up.
