The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Mike had heard the back alley rumors for a while now but never once believed a place like this existed. He was to old to attend a kiddie school anyway but after the recent run in with those insane Friends of Humanity he figured there was safety in numbers not to mention he might learn a thing or two about his powers and a method to control them even when he got upset. Mike flinched at the memory of his last encounter with a local band of thugs, it hadn't ended pretty leaving one of the young boys with no right hand as the pipe they where holding blew up.
Mike had called 911 to get the boy help but he left before they had arrived on scene. He knew the way most reacted to a Mutant involved in a fight where a non mutant got hurt. It was lynch first ask questions sometime in the next twenty years, he had seen it several times back home and three times since he left. It annoyed him how easily the normal humans considered mutants beneath them, something less then human and so easy to kill.
As the memories were slowly unburied his hands clenched into fist and the gloves on his hands began to glow. It was the faint red glow that shocked Mike back to the present as he quickly discharged the glove back to being harmless a trick he had only recently discovered when a playing card he was fooling with charged and had to be discharged or else he would hurt himself badly. Mike sighed at the memory "God I hope this place is as good as the word says it is." he said aloud to himself before he pressed the buzzer next to the gate.
As Tricity rested in bed, her radio began to crackle. The Doc Prof looked over at her with disapproval, but she wasn't able to sit in the infirmary and not do anything about meeting the new people who planned on living in the mansion. She picked up the radio and buzzed back to Johnathon.
"Hey, John. What's up?"
"How are you, Miss Tipper?" came Johnathon's reply. She could hear the concern in his voice.
"I'm fine. What's up? Someone at the gate?" Tricity turned around toward the window behind her bed in the infirmary and moved the curtain aside to see a figure that was indeed in front of the gate. "Can you meet up with him and bring him upstairs?"
"Not a problem," he replied. Johnathon clipped the radio to his hip and stepped out of the small security center, toward the front doors. He crossed the lawn and saw the newcomer at the gate. 'He looks about my age,' Jonathon thought as he yanked open the doors. "Hey, man. You lookin' for a place to stay?"
Fade was walking around the mansion, completely bored out of her mind. She put her hand infront of her face and turned it visible, then invisible, then visible, then invisible, then partially visible...yes, she was having too much fun. However, her short-lived attention was quickly adverted to a man out at the gates. She didn't recognize him, but then again, she hadn't met everyone from the school.
Curiousity overwhelmed her and she began walking towards the stranger, looking for something to do, someone to talk to. As she got closer, she saw another, Johnathon, walking towards the new guy as well. Dang it! She was going to be the first one to welcome him. She sighed, seeing that Johnathon was walking faster than her.

Mike began to look around for a few moments before John had reached the door taking in the surroundings of the school. He was amazed at the beauty the place had all around it and felt slightly envious of those that lived inside. As John reached the door Mike's attention was once again snapped back to the present here and now and he greeted John with a smile.
"Yeah actually I am." He said his tone light and relaxed as he smiled "My name is Mike Angel." He said holding his gloved hand out to the newly arrived individual. As Mike looked just past John he saw a youn red haired women approching them, his smile extended to her "Hello." He called out to her as she neared.
Fade smiled and replied with the ever-famous "Hello". <<Well, he's friendly>> she thought before walking up to the two. "Sorry, just wandering around, didn't recognize you, thought it's worth a look. My name's Jenny, but I go by Fade. And I take it you are new." She concluded, seeing as he had shook Johnathon's hand. Hand shakes are for first-time encounters. So of course he was new.

Mike smiled at her "Hi Jenny" he said "I'm sorry I mean Fade." He said with a little laugh at his mistake "My name's Mike Angel, but you can call me Desolate." he said with his smiling fading as his cheeks turned a few shades of deeper red. "Yeah I am new." He admitted to her. "I heard about this place before but I always thought it was just a rumor."
"Yeah, it took me time to come here too, but I did and it's never let me down. It's my home." She smiled. Oh man, it had been a while since she was new...or at least it seemed like it. SHe remembered when she first came to the school. She was skiddish and would sneak around, invisible for fear that they wouldn't accept her. However, since there were telepaths and those with hightened senses here, she found that her power was useless here. However, she became comfortable with the other mutants and soon found that it was ok to show that she had raptor-like claws. Since then, she hasn't hidden them and has had no worries, so long as she is here with the other mutants.
She looked over at Johnathon and smiled. "You want me to take it from here? Or you got questions for him?"
Johnathon took Mike's hand in turn and shook it for a welcome. He leaned against the gates, taking the newcomer in and trying to decide if he was a threat. After a couple lookovers, John nodded for him to come inside and to follow him inside of the mansion as they crossed the large lawn.
"The Headmistress isn't well, but you can see her in the infirmary if you'd like. She's waiting for you once you've settled into your own room," Johnathon pulled open the double doors smiling at Fade as she came up the stairs. He checked her out and looked over at Mike with a smirk. "I'd show you around, but I think Fade might like to do it. Don't forget to see Miss Tipper in the infirmary when you're done!"
And with that, Johnathon gave a comical bow to the two and made his way back to the security center.

Mike noticed John had been looking him over to see if he was a threat, the thought made Mike smile a little as he could have easily blown the gate off it's hinges with a tap. He looked back from John to Fade as John left them giving him the location of the lady in charge. "Thanks." He said as John left being sure to thank him for all his help.
"So were to first?" He ask with a comical grin as he relaxed a little more now that the stern eye of John was gone. He had learned from the time on the streets with other mutants that appearances meant nothing when it came to personality, most often the beautiful ones were the ones to watch out for. Mike blushed a little as the thought played through his head, he had not meant to think that fade herself and anyone else was not beautiful or anything like that. "So..." He said the blush still evident on his face "How long ya been in for?" He ask with a slight mid southern accent he let back into his voice from time to time without thinking about it.
A smirk formed across Fade's lips as she noticed just how much his cheeks changed colors. "Well, we could start with a tour, or whatever." She smiled. "Oh, actually, I came here in April, I believe. So I haven't been here too long, but it seems like I've been here all of my life. I guess that is because I've never lived anywhere for this long, 'least not since I was like 8 I think."

Mike glanced at Fade for a moment and knew she had caught his blush 'd*mn' he thought to himself embarrassed at his inability to hide it. "A tour sounds nice." He told her smiling a little more his blush quickly fading back to normal color. "Well six months would be a life time when at a school." He pointed out with a little laugh.
"So why exactly do you go by Fade?" He ask curiously though he figured she had a power that worked in with the name, most mutants picked up street names going off their powers. His street name was more for the results of his ability rather then the powers themselves.
"Alright, a tour. Well, let me begin by taking you inside, wow! That was a step in the right direction, huh?" She joked around as they walked inside. "Well, you see, I haven't gone by Jenny in a while, unless people call me that by nature, never bothered me too much. It's just that because of my past lifestyle, anytime someone would say Jenny, it was because the cops had found me or someone recognized me from those Missing Persons Milk Cartons. You know? I dunno, Fade was a street name for me, kinda like a safe name, because, well, I can turn invisible and no one on the streets and none of my friends on the streets called me Jenny. So when the name Fade was mentioned, it was generally a friendly person that I knew, but if it was Jenny, then I knew just to freeze and turn invisible and get out of there." A chuckle escaped her lips as she thought about just how absurd that sounded now that she had said it out loud. "So what about you, got a street name?" She asked, only half joking.

"Desolate is what everyone calls me after a while." He repeated the name for her. "So I normally just go by it nowadays." He told her still smiling at her with kind eyes. "Street names normally reflect powers I guess mine reflects what happens." He told her his smile fading slightly.
"Well since you told me your power I guess I can tell you mine." He said to her grabbing something from his pocket. What he pulled from his pocket was a leaf, a reddish orange colored leaf from a maple tree. "This is what I can do." He said the leaf began to faintly glow red but before long the glow grew brighter engulfing his hand in a red tint. "I can charge objects with Kinetic energy and cause them to go boom." He said saying the last in a childish tone before he discharged the leaf, the toll of the discharge clear on his face. "Its a little harder to discharge then it is to charge." He told her keeping a faint grin.
"I make things go boom, so destruction is a side effect of my power so Desolate is a fitting name I suppose."
"Oh, that's right, I didn't know if maybe your nickname was Desolate...I dunno where I was going with that. Feel free to ignore it." She chuckled. When he presented his power she smiled and looked at the leaf with fascination.
"That's pretty neat. I mean, you're actually able to protect yourself, my power is mainly only good for running away, nothing more." She sighed. She did at times, wish she was able to do more in a fight than sneak up on her enemy, but that was not possible, so she let it go.
"I can take you to see Miss Tipper. Do you want to do that?" She asked as she didn't know what room he needed to go to or any specific stuff like that. She just lived here after all.

He laughed a little as she told him to ignore what she said. He decided to ignore the whole misunderstanding and move on with the conversation. As she admired his power he gave a soft grin knowing most people did find it neat but he often wished he had different powers. "I don't know about that." He told her with a smile.
"The power to vanish is cool, I mean in a fight or something it would be one of the best powers to have." He told her "How is your enemy gonna hit you if they can't see you." He told her "And at least yours is controllable, mine can be a little to much on the friendly fire side." He told her looking displeased with that subject.
"Go see Miss Tipper?" He repeated for her thinking on it "Well I guess it would be ok, I mean I do need to find out where I will be staying after all." He said trying to lighten the mood up again with his smile.
