The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Tythan stepped out of his new room having deposited his few belongings in a pile on his bed and snatching up his notebook and a pen. He walked aimlessly through the floors of the mansion searching for an open chair, a spot of sun, or a place that just said 'creative writing'. He passed a few of the other residents in his quest but payed no regard to them. He was on a mission, the writing spot he chose could determine his entire writing career...or at least the next few hours of his writing career.
Finally he found it. A chair that oozed comfort in a patch of sun from a window that overlooked the grounds and part of the expanse beyond. The perfect spot. He eased into the chair, his imagination reeling with possibility, flipped open to the last page he had written. And put his pen to the paper.
That was when the difficulty arose, not with knowing what to write, rather, he couldn't hold his concentration. That was odd in itself seeing as usually he was able to tune anything out, but that apparently didn't apply to the noises of a new life. Noise drifting up from the grounds, echoing through the halls, and the music that was randomly playing in his head soon had him doing nothing but staring at the page and examining his handwriting.

Raina had just walked out of her office and was heading to her dorm room with Star at her heels. The young Husky Pup was still small and loveable- though at times quite annoying. He was getting much better at sneaking up on people so Raina had equipped his collar with a bell. Anyone in the vicinity would hear the bell jingling before they even saw Raina coming.
She hummed to herself without thinking and the air temperature dropped just a little as she rounded the corner.
There was a young mutant sitting in a chair in the sun that was spilling in from the window. He didn't look familiar so she figured he was CSs or Streaks recruit. Having missed all this time at the mansion while away in Paris and then Canada Raina was surprised at how many new students there were.
"Well hey there, writing are we? I hope they haven't gotten you loaded up on homework yet." said Raina as she approached. Star sniffed around his feet with his tongue hanging out drooling and blinking his multicoloured eyes back and forth. "I'm Raina, the music teacher here. I don't believe we've met!" she extended a hand
ooc: hope you don't mind me jumping in, I know it's been a few weeks so PM me if it's a problem.

A bell jingled in the distance, coming closer. Then the air became slightly colder, and finally someone spoke, ""Well hey there, writing are we? I hope they haven't gotten you loaded up on homework yet. I'm Raina, the music teacher here. I don't believe we've met!" "Huh?" Tythan replied turning to face the speaker and noticing that the dog, a cute little husky that was stil growing into the his feet, was sniffing around him. "Oh, hi. I'm Tythan. I just got here, like, 2 hours ago." He said accepting the outstreched hand, "I've been travelling for a month or so now. i heard about this place before i left so....uh...sorry, i'm rambling. I tend to do that sometimes. What's this fellows name?" He said changing the subject and indicating the inquisitive puppy.

"This is Star." she said with a smile as Star continued sniffing around in a semi-interested way. Raina was at least relieved that he wasn't jumping like a maniac, and it was also nice to here that Thythan hadn't been here that long. So it wasn't like she wasn't doing her job! She'd been beating herself up lately for being so late with the new comers. "You must have a room set up then." she observed. "it's such a mansion from the outside but it doesn't seem nearly as big on the inside when you fill it with people." she laughed. "Have you been registered? Given the tour and all that by anyone?" she wasn't sure if CS's or Streak had gotten to him, or anyone at all for that matter- either way she always liked to make a good impression on the new students. "And don't worry about rambling," she teased "everyone here will love to get to know you and you'll be bombarded with questions! The students get so excited when someone new arrives."

"Uh, no, i haven't been registered quite yet, but i have the form right...," he rummaged through his notebook. It was where he put anything important because while he sometimes forgot his backpack, he never forgot his notebook. He pulled out the form in a semitriumphant manner, "...here. I just have to fill it out. And no, i haven't gotten the tour yet. I think i was lucky to be able to make my way to this spot here."

Raina nodded "Do you remember who greeted you if anyone?" she didn't want students to start falling through the cracks. She took the form from him for a moment and eyed it to be sure it was up-to-date and handed it back. "Yea, it's really important to fill it out as soon as possible. We treat everything with confidentiality but for safety reasons it's really important you be as detailed as you can with your powers. Mansion staff wont tell anyone else about your powers it's up to you if you feel like talking to them with the other students... but it's very important you give us as much info as you can." she paused hoping she didn't sound like a broken record.
"It's good you've got a room. We've had a lot of people coming and going." she added. "When you're ready for a tour my office is just down the steps and to the right." she rummaged around in her bag and pulled out a mansion map "or you can do things the old fashioned way." she grinned and handed it to him "by trial and error!" she winked. Star gave an approving yip

Tythan glanced at the returned form that until now he had done little with but shove into his bag. He hated filling out forms, but this one didn't look too bad,"One second, i can can fill it out right now." He said grabbing his unused pen and fiilling in the blanks. Name: Tythan Iles Age: 15 Mutation: Merging and Phasing ...
Luckily it didn't take that long, he wouldn't have wanted to keep Raina from other things she needed to do. He filled in the last space and handed it back to her, "Here you go. And as for a tour, i'm fine with going on my own. I've been on my own finding my way for about a month already, i might as well continue that way."

Raina smiled from ear to ear. She liked Tythan. He seemed like a good kid. Polite, respectful, didn't come in guns a blazing. She could respect that. "Well thank-you." she said taking the paper back. "If you ever need to chat about anything, you'll know where to find me!"
With that she gave a little bob of her head and scooped up Star and headed back to her office.

Tythan stuffed the map into his bag as the pair headed back down the hall. he then turned back to his writing and started scribbling away, he could concentrate now, for some reason. And his wonderful skill of tuning others out took hold. The noise still was all around him, but he was in his own little cocoon, intense on his writing, oblivious to all else. Well maybe he was just a little too intense. In the middle of turning a page, he suddenly realized that he was no longer looking at the book, but was looking out of it, Oh, crap. Not again He thought and set about attempting to free himself from his own mistake, failing miserably. He really needed practice. And i was just getting to the good part!
