Kealey just smiled and shrugged when Jacen pointed out that he’d have been stereotyping if he’d have acknowledged the Irish and their love for alcohol. Was something a stereotype if it was true? It was a simple fact, the Irish loved their drink. They also loved confessing when drunk. Confessing as loudly as was humanly possible. ”I’d never thought to accuse you of being insensitive Jacen..” Maybe too sensitive at times... He was awful worried about her and what she’d think some of the time, Kealey couldn’t help but think as he retrieved his cowboy hat and slid from the booth.
Kealey took Jacen’s hand and slid out of the seat, looking up at him, and then glancing down at her boots. ”Best dancing shoes this side of the Mississippi.” she said, winking and kicking up a heel as she put on the most exaggerated American cowgirl accent she could manage. Jacen sent a smile her way that may just have been every bit as challenging as her previous one and it made Kealey smile even more, ”Of course I can keep up…” she said as they made their way to the small dance floor, ”Whether or not I can do it in time with the music is the big question.”
There were lots of other people and despite the fact that she really didn’t have a clue what she was doing, Kealey had a feeling that she’d innately perform better than some of the people. The nuns had berated her at times for walking down the hallways like she was on a runway instead of in a church. The music had a heavy but quick beat and Kealy could always feel the compulsion to tap her toe in time with the music. Jacen spoke again and Kealey’s confidence wavered a little bit, there were steps in some of these dances?
The second part of Jacen’s question was even more difficult to answer, though, and as she looked up at him she laughed out loud even as she shook her head. ”Not unless you count the dance productions my sister and I used to put on for our parents to Disney soundtracks. I’m not sure that could be considered dancing though…” Kealey was almost positive that didn’t count, so she looked expectantly at her dance partner as she raised her arms to his shoulders like she saw the other woman on the floor doing with their partners, ”I’ve been told I’m a fast learner though.” she grinned. ”Let’s go.”
"Yeah, there are steps to some of these dances." Jacen replied with a chuckle once the two of them were out on the floor, "Remind me to take you line dancing sometime. You'd have a blast with that."
Once she was in his arms and she had her arms on his shoulder, Jacen began to give her instructions. "For this kind of basic partner dancing the key is to just go with the music. Imagine the music being something completely physical that just moves through your body and then just start to go with the rhythm." For a moment, Jacen just let the two of them sway back and forth in time to the music and then he began to slowly move her around the floor. Thankfully the band was playing one of their slightly slower songs to this type of dancing fit quite well with it. If Kealey was as quick a learner as she bragged then maybe she'd be able to handle it when the band picked up the pace.
Even though Jacen was focusing on the dancing, another part of him couldn't ignore the sway of Kealey's hips as she moved along with the music. Dancing was lots of fun but it was also intimate and it was extremely difficult not to imagine Kealey moving to other rhythms in other situations.
"No... don't think about that." Jacen told himself sternly as he flashed Kealey a quick smile of encouragement, "We're to friendly for any sort of one night stand and there's still Lori to consider. Focus on teaching. I'm the teacher, she's the student... but what a student!"

Kealey was relieved when Jacen confirmed that no, there weren’t any particular steps for the dance they were currently involved in. Kealey was confident in her ability to move with the music, but her confidence didn’t extend to a dance that actually involved choreography. Jacen wanted to put her in that situation though? Kealey shrugged her shoulders, ”Let’s see how this goes, then I’ll decide if I’m going to remember or not.”
Once they were situated in the proper dancing stance, though, Jacen started to instruct. What he said made sense, and Kealey had heard similar things before in movies where people were learning to dance. It was just as easy as it sounded, too. Instead of tapping her foot in time with the music, Kealey tried to do what Jacen said and feel it. To someone so intone with feeling it was easy. It almost filled the silence left by the absence of outside emotion. Soon Kealey was grinning at Jacen, following his lead as they swayed to the music. As she’d thought before, she wasn’t having any trouble at this stage, even if to the dancers eye she looked unschooled.
Apparently she was doing well, because Jacen smiled at her in a way Kealey could only call encouraging. Dancing was fun, and for someone like Kealey who had a tendency to shy away from physical contact, it felt nice, easy, an excuse for close proximity with someone she was comfortable being close to. She liked this bar, she decided, even if country music had never been her favorite. The pretensions of the other bar weren’t here and she hadn’t seen a creep yet. Then again, she was obviously there with someone this time and the last she’d been seemingly alone.
The slower, comfortable song they’d started dancing to came to an end and Kealey laughed as people clapped for the live band. Then the singer said something about livening things up and a new beat started. It was faster, but not what Kealey would have considered blindingly so and again, she didn’t have any trouble finding it, but she looked questioningly at Jacen, ”Did I pass muster? Or did I just embarrass us both and think I was doing alright?” she asked, with a grin, peeking out from under the brim of her hat. Then she looked up at the band, and back at Jacen, “Does this one work the same way? If there’s still no special steps I think I can handle it.”
OOC - Um…I know less about dancing, especially to country music than Kealey does…so feel free to GM whatever you want. I’m clueless and following the lead. J
(OOC: lol. Well I guess we're in the same boat Juli because I don't really know much about western dancing either. I think I'll just kinda gloss over the dancing itself.)
IC: Kealey did amazingly well for a first time dancer and Jacen was genuinely impressed. Sure he was no expert himself, by any means, but he could tell that really Kealey was a natural. She had an affinity for the music that let her moved with the music in a way that few could imitate.
All to soon the first song was done and the two of them were joining in the rest of the dancers as they applauded the live band. As the first notes of this new strong echoed through the room, Jacen turned his attention back to Kealey.
"You did great and yes, this one works the same way. Pretty much all the dancing we do here will be, well, something akin to freestyle I guess. Pretty much do whatever you think feels good." Jacen replied with a laugh as he slipped his arms around Kealey once again, though this time a little more loosely so that they could enjoy the music.
For the next thirty to forty minutes the pair continued to move around the dance floor along with the variety of songs that the band was playing. Really they fit in pretty well with most everyone else on the floor so there was no need for either of them to feel embarrassed or out of place. Finally as the band began to wind down the two of them shared one more slow dance.
This was the part Jacen had been worried about. Moving slowly around the floor with his hands on her waist and their heads really close together it was hard not to think about the heated kiss they had shared on their previous date. Kealey's eyes were so blue and while they sparkled with happiness Jacen could still see them filled with heat.
Suddenly the music ended and Jacen took a slight step away, clapping along with Kealey for the band. Once the applause was over he gently gripped her hand and led her back over to their table where their drinks still sat waiting for them.
"Are you sure you haven't done that before?" Jacen asked, teasing the young woman slightly as he tried not to think about anything more intimate, "I'd say you're pretty much a natural."

Dancing, Kealey decided, was something that she could get used to doing on a regular basis. Especially if it was with Jacen. If if she didn’t think so, over the years she’d gotten very good at concentrating on one thing completely while doing others at the same time. It was the only way she’d ever gotten anything done. It was for this reason that moving in time with music while listening to it seemed easy. The music was almost pure feeling put into sound, too. Kealey had noticed this before, with classical music especially, but it was here too, but this music was just fun.
The faster song didn’t prove to be too difficult to keep up with, but Kealey found herself having to keep track a little more as they moved around the floor. She didn’t fail to notice that Jacen was pretty good at the dancing himself and Kealey almost laughed. It wasn’t exactly something she’d expect from a rough and tumble military type. Then again, pretty much nothing she’d seen in Jacen’s personality suggested that he was a trained fighter. The only glimmer she’d seen had been at the other bar when that creep hadn’t seemed to understand the words, ‘back off’. If anything, that had been dashing.
As they danced, Kealey couldn’t help but think about the last time Jacen had wrapped his arms around her. That had been a much different situation though, and a much different activity happening when it occurred. It made Kealey blush to think about it, and it made her wonder if more of that was in store. Jacen hadn’t said anything to indicate that it would or wouldn’t, other than his compliments on her outfit... But he’d always done that. Kealey didn’t know what to make of it, and decided it was far too confusing to deal with when they were supposed to be having fun dancing.
She didn’t know how long they danced, but by the time Jacen grabbed her hand and led her back towards their table her cheeks were flushed and she was laughing and holding onto her cowboy hat. Sliding into the booth and taking a long drink of water, Kealey listened to what Jacen said and grinned, shaking her head. ”I told you…the last time I remember consciously dancing was when my sister and I made up dances to Disney movies.”
Jacen said she was a natural, and Kealey’s mind drifted to the way that she had felt when she’d found the beat, she shrugged, ”I think it has something to do with my powers…” she explained, tilting her head at Jacen as she thought, ”Obviously not directly…because of you being here…but I was thinking about it when we were dancing. I can really feel the rhythm, deep down.” Kealey shrugged again, ”It’s easy to let my body follow when the rhythm feels instinctual like that.”
Kealey shook her head, not having a clue if the words coming out of her mouth were making any sense at all. So she switched the topic to Jacen, ”What about you though? I get the feeling you’ve done this fairly often.” Kealey grinned teasingly, looking up from under the brim of her hat and across the table, ”You’re a man of many talents it would seem. Rescuing damsels in distress in bars, dancing like that, kissing, is there anything else you’re incredibly talented at that you’re not telling me about?” At her bold words, Kealey blushed, but she kept grinning. Why not?
"Fairly often, no, but often enough." Jacen replied with a slight grin as he sipped at the remains of his beer. Waving over the waitress he held back a chuckle at Kealey's last remark and ordered himself a glass of water since his alcoholic beverage was now empty. Once the waitress had checked to see whether Kealey needed anything else, Jacen turned back to his blond friend and gave her his most winning smile.
"I try to be a jack of all trades." He answered, his tone just a touch suggestive. The sight of the slight blush on Kealey's face made his grin broaden slightly as he continued. "Although rescuing damsels and kissing are probably where I've put in the most practice. But I also worked at mastering my massage technique. Not quite up to professional standards but it's still quite relaxing I'm told. Feet, shoulders, and back are my specialty."
There was nothing wrong with flirting. At least that was what Jacen kept trying to tell himself. It was just to easy to slip back into this mode with Kealey, even though he knew he was currently seeing Lori. But even as he tried to lie to himself the very words he was speaking betrayed him. They very reason he'd practiced massage was because it was a good way to get women to at least partially disrobe. After all, massaging through clothing was completely different than massaging bare skin.
"No... she's just a friend. Keep things on the level. Don't put her someplace where either of you could get hurt!" Jacen tried to lecture himself but it was so hard to listen to even himself. Kealey just looked to innocent and sexy all at the same time. How could he not think impure thoughts?
"What about you? Any hidden talents I should know about?" Jacen asked with a grin, "If you're so good at feeling the music maybe you should lay aside fashion and think about exotic dancing." He teased with a quick wink, "Then you'd really have a special talent."

Kealey shook her head at Jacen when he commented that he didn’t go out dancing enough, ”You should always make time for the things you really enjoy. If you like to dance, then cut something else out and dance!” It was advice like that particular tidbit that always had people rolling their eyes at Kealey. She didn’t understand why people insisted on pursuits that made them less than happy, though. She knew that things like jobs were necessary, even if they weren’t always present, but a person’s free time should be spent doing things they enjoyed.
Jacen went on to explain the other things he was talented at and the smile on his face and the particular talents he chose to share made Kealey wonder if he was doing it just to get a reaction out of her. She couldn’t help the dark blush creeping up her cheeks, but she simply took a drink of water and raised an eyebrow, nodding her head slowly. ”A jack of all trades, but a master of none?” she said, that same teasing glint still showing brightly in her eyes. ”Well, I can see how all those things together would prove to be a useful skill set. You can save the damsel in distress, take her dancing, give her a massage after she’s all worn out and tired, and then get a goodnight kiss.” she said, still doing her best to take everything in stride, but wondering exactly what that massage would feel like. That made her blush darker and she gave up on her end of the verbal quips. Jacen didn’t seem to mind when she flirted though, so she wasn’t quite embarrassed, just shocked at how bold she was getting.
She was just taking another drink when Jacen suggested a career change for her based on her apparent affinity for music. It was all she could do to not spit the water at him across the table or choke on it. Kealey managed though and she pulled her face together much more quickly than she’d have been able to manage just a few months earlier. She was learning. Instead of gasping in shock or gaping as she might have at one point, she just smiled slowly in spite of what was apparently going to be the permanent blush on her cheeks.
”Hmmm. Maybe you’re right. I’d make a pretty penny more doing that than working in the library.” she said, then feigned thought, propping her elbow on the table then dropping her chin in it and staring into space for a moment before looking back to Jacen, locking his eyes with hers. He thought he could shock her, huh? Well, she wasn’t going to play the offended school girl tonight.
”Who says I need to give up the fashion though…maybe I could design my own outfits. I think I’d go with the whole Irish theme…green sparkles maybe. Shamrocks. What do you think?” she finished, peering out from under the brim of that cowboy hat again, ”Or maybe I could just stick to the job where I keep my knickers on. All of that design and dancing might be an awful lot on my plate with fashion school. What do you think?”
"Oh, I like to dance but it's not as much fun to go out and randomly pick a girl to dance with." Jacen replied with a grin, "As soon as I find a steady dance partner maybe I'll do it more often, but until then I'll just try to keep in step as they say."
Kealey's comment about his 'jack of all trades' comment brought out a laugh from the man. He had actually been tempted to say that exact same phrase but had decided that he shouldn't. "Master of none describes me pretty well." He replied with his own mischievous grin, "And you've got the steps right though not necessarily in that order. After all, I saved you from the emotions around you, gave you a good night kiss, and then took you dancing. Haven't even gotten to the massage yet."
Was that an offer? Had he just offered to give Kealey a massage? Maybe he had, and maybe he hadn't. That was up to her to decide and for him to either enjoy or regret as soon as she made her decision. How in the world had he let those words out of his mouth anyway? He was seeing Lori for crying out loud! LORI! The hot blond, magnetic manipulator. What was he even doing here right now?
Suddenly all thoughts of regret were completely blown away as he listened to Kealey describe a possible dance costume. Without any warning his imagination was suddenly running rampant with images of Kealey dressed in skimpy green outfits with large Shamrocks covering all the right areas.
"Control... control..." Jacen tried to say over and over in his mind even as his eyes picked up a touch of heat from the vivid images flowing through his mind.
"Knowing you... a job where you keep your knickers on would probably be better, though I have to admit, I'd probably be front row and center stage if you did decide to try something like that." Jacen replied, still teasing the young woman even though it was now tinged with a bit of honesty. How in the world had he gotten himself into a situation like this?

Kealey just nodded when Jacen explained the reasons he didn’t dance more. It did make sense, after all, it would be odd to do something as innately intimate as dancing with a complete stranger. He mentioned doing it more if he could find a steady dance partner and Kealey grinned, ”I wouldn’t complain about more dancing in the future. Especially since you seem to think I’m a natural.”
Jacen pointed out how Kealey had the steps wrong in their particular situation and Kealey laughed. She hadn’t been talking about them, but it really did fit, right up to the part about the massage that hadn’t happened…yet. Kealey just stared at Jacen for a moment. Wow, if she’d thought the dancing was intimate...the idea was not unappealing though. She shrugged, ”Well, the order isn’t written law…it doesn’t matter as long as all the steps are there.” she said with a slight smile, leaving it at that. Kealey was, as always, already shocked by how bold she’d been. Jacen seemed absolutely talented at bringing that side of her out, though, and Kealey was starting to really enjoy it. She trusted Jacen, and that made it easy to trust her feelings, even the ones that the kisses and talks about massages brought to the surface.
Kealey grinned almost smugly at the reaction Jacen had when she acted like she was considering the idea of dancing exotically. The look on his face said that he hadn’t expected her to play along. In fact, knowing the way he tended to think about her, Kealey wouldn’t have been surprised to find out he hadn’t thought she’d even know what he was talking about. Take that. Naïve and stupid were two very different things. As unworldly as she was, Kealey hadn’t grown up in a cardboard box. She knew things. This just proved it, then Jacen spoke and Kealey’s eyebrows rose almost to her hairline.
”You would, would you.?” she said, the blush she thought she’d finally banished resurfacing with a vengeance twice what it had been. She couldn’t help but imagine the situation, it almost made her dizzy. It was hard to speak again for a moment, then she shook her head and laughed, "Well, I'll have to let you know if the idea ever comes to fruition. You'd want to get there early, before the seats filled up." Kealey almost felt the need to fan herself, the things Jacen said sometimes were so…unsettling. He finished the statement with a comment that knowing Kealey she’d be better suited picking the occupation that kept her knickers on. That was true, very true. Kealey wasn’t the type of girl who’d do that kind of thing for just anyone. Maybe a particular someone…the idea was tantalizing and she looked steadily at Jacen as her emotions rolled through her, changing by the moment.
Kealey frowned slightly at the thought, looking at the table for a few moments and wondering exactly what kind of road she was taking herself down. Her emotions and her physical being were positive where they wanted to go and her mind was fairly resolute as well. Except that Kealey still wanted strings, but how did one go from joking about exotic dancing to something like that? She looked up, tilting her head at the man across from her, looking at him intently, ”So what now?” she asked, not really knowing which of the thousands of variations of the question she meant. Jacen's answer was sure to be revealing in one way or another, depending on how he interpreted it.
"I'll have to keep you in mind the next time I want to go dancing." Jacen replied with a grin and slight chuckle, "You make a good partner that can handle good conversation too. Plenty of good points there."
Kealey seemed to be going right along with his suggestion that a massage might be in the cards next but she didn't address the question directly. Instead, she seemed quite content to just let the innuendo hang in the air, waiting for one of them to make a final decision about it.
It was amazing just how sexy Kealey could look, even when she was blushing. The redness of her embaressment was so much like the flush of physical exertion that it made Jacen's mind once again rush to the gutter. Even as he tried to bring his thoughts back under control, he was thankful that Kealey couldn't read his emotion. Otherwise she'd just think he was a pervert like so many other men that she'd met before.
"If you decide to do it, I'll make sure to book a private show." Jacen said slyly, the heat in his eyes growing ever so slightly. It was entertaining and tantalizing to think about Kealey shedding everythign but her 'knickers'. It even brought up the question of what kind of under garments she would be wearing. What were the normal ones she had in her drawers? Did she prefer something a little more modest or did she like the feeling of being risque underneath her more conservative clothing?
"So what now?"
The words seemed to hang in the air, and for a moment Jacen was seriously toying with giving in to temptation. A massage and some kissing could quite possibly lead to his discovering exactly what kind of 'knickers' Kealey liked to wear, as well as what was hidden beneath all of her clothing but would it be worth it? Was it worth it to having the physical pleasure while knowing that he would be hurting two women he genuinely cared about?
"Well, since the band seems to be wrapping up, I guess we can get out of here." Jacen replied with a smile, temporarily putting off the decision that he knew would have to be made in the near future, "So... do you have a CD Player at your place? We could always get some music and keep on dancing by ourselves."

Kealey simply grinned when Jacen pointed out that he would keep her in mind the next time that he wanted to go dancing. ”Sounds like a plan…and if I don’t hear from you soon enough I might just call you up and drag you out here myself.”
Kealey spent a few moments looking at the dancers, then turned back to watch Jacen for a few moments. She always had so much fun when she was with him. In fact, it was the only time she really had fun. As she sat there, she wondered if that was simply because of his power, then dismissed that notion completely. If Jacen had been a different person, she probably wouldn’t even be here. There was something about Jacen though, Kealey had to think about it for a moment to recognize it, though. He pushed her. Jacen took the lead, made her do things that she’d never thought about doing. Kealey had to admit, it was good for her, and she liked it.
She couldn’t help but wonder exactly what he was thinking about as he looked back though. Jacen had that look in his eyes, almost the same one he’d had the last time they’d been together. Kealey couldn’t do anything other than stare right back. Then Jacen spoke again, mentioned a private show and Kealey’s jaw dropped slightly. It felt like her heart was going to jump right out of her throat.
”You…you’d want that?” she said. Geez why did her voice sound so strangled? She smiled though, beyond the flush and her heart slamming against her ribs. She was surprised, and more surprised that it was pleasant surprise. Kealey had never enjoyed comments like that. She knew what feelings would be behind something like that, but it wasn’t scary or offensive. It was nice, more than nice.
Jacen asked if she had a CD player and Kealey nodded her head slowly, still smiling. Leaving sounded like a good idea, ”Believe it or not, I do have a CD player. I don’t have a TV and I need something to do. I think getting out of here and dancing by ourselves sounds like a great idea.”
OOC - Feel free to GM them going/doing wherever/whatever...as usual. Car rides are boring to read! :-D
As soon as Jacen knew Kealey had a CD player he was fishing in his wallet to pulled out the money for their food. After quickly settling the bill, the pair was off to once again go to Kealey apartment. As much as Jacen was trying to mentally assure himself that his reason for going to Kealey's apartment was different than it had been several nights before, a part of his brain wasn't buying it. Whether he wanted to admit it to himself or not, the idea of getting a chance to try and seduce Kealey again was intriguing but he knew if anything was to happen she had to be comfortable and secure. Where could she ever feel more safe than her very own home?
"I'm sure we can find something in your collection that'll work for dancing." Jacen offered with a grin after parking and stepping out of the truck to help Kealey also disembark, "How about you pick something with some beat, your choice on the genre, then we can kick off our shoes and try some dancing with just the two of us."
The walk from vehicle to Kealey's apartment was short... to short for Jacen to begin rethinking his decision but not so short that he was feeling rushed. In fact, a part of him was beginning to look forward to this time when they would both be able to just act on whatever desires and impulses came their way.
"What about Lori?" The stray through popped into his mind but Jacen chose to ignore it as he stepped inside with the beautiful blond. The chance to see Kealey barefoot and maybe wearing something a little more relaxed and revealing. It was an opportunity he just couldn't pass up.

They left quickly. Kealey almost wanted to giggle at how quickly, but she didn’t. Giggling girls were not suave. Not at all, so she refrained, then grinned at her own restraint. She was getting good at dealing with her own emotions, no matter how intense they felt when they were the only ones around. It had been two trips out with Jacen since she’d acted silly about something that she had experience when they were together. She was learning, Kealey Quinn could be a normal twenty-six year old woman. It was a reassuring thought after the last fifteen years.
The car ride wasn’t any longer than it had been on the way to the western bar, but Kealey was eager to get back to her apartment. Dancing in a room full of people had been a blast; she could only imagine how much fun dancing alone would be. She realized as they drove though, that her dance music collection probably left more than a little to be desired. When she was home, she usually needed to mellow out and relax after a day of jumbled emotions and stress. Most of her music was seriously geared towards that. This was worrisome and Kealey frowned at the dashboard as she tried to find a solution to that specific little problem. There was always the radio, but then there were commercials to deal with.
Jacen seemed to be reading her thoughts, though, as they pulled into a parking space in the little lot near her apartment. Kealey shrugged her shoulders and grinned and said, ”I’ll see what I can do.” when he said that he was sure there was something in her collection that would work for dancing. Jacen mentioned something with a beat and Kealey’s brow furrowed even more, it was looking like the radio was going to be their best bet. She nearly rolled her eyes at herself for not thinking about that problem sooner…but there it was.
Getting in the apartment was easy enough and Kealey set her cowboy hat on her kitchen counter and turned a few lights on so they could see where they were going, but not so many that the artificial light was glaring. It was a bright night out and all of that was unnecessary. ”Help yourself to a drink or make yourself comfortable…” she said to Jacen with a grin, Then it was to the closet.
Pulling open the doors, Kealey bent, pulling out first the CD player, which was in reality a little boom box/CD player that she’d picked up at the pawn shop downstairs. Then came her little tote full of CD’s. Some were new, some were older, and a few were soundtracks from Kealey’s earlier years, including the Disney Soundtracks she’d mentioned making dances to earlier, she didn’t dwell on them, though. It was too easy to think about what it was like to look at the tiny box of personal items they’d gotten for her from the house before the bank had taken it. Besides, Kealey was still too worried about her lack of dance music.
Over to the little desk that served joint duty as a night stand she went, bending once more to plug in the little boom box, then off came the boots and Kealey tossed them in the general direction of her closet as she started rummaging through the CD’s.
Yeah, this was bad, besides two New Kids on the Block CD’s and a Flogging Molly album she’d picked up after coming to New York, her collection was limited to soft jazz and classical music. Not exactly the best for dancing…at least not if she wanted Jacen to stick around. So, she stood and flicked on the radio tuner, moving it back and forth until she found what she was looking for.
” New York’s z100, top 40 hits and dance music all night on the weekends…up next…” Kealey tuned it out, she’d found the station she was looking for and if nothing else could be said about the song that started playing, it had a beat. A beat that Kealey had no idea how to move to, but it was a beat. She turned to look at Jacen apologetically, ”Sorry…” she said, one hand moving to toy in her hair, ”I realized once we got here that I’m pretty limited as far as my music collection is concerned…you said beat…this is the closest I can get. If this doesn’t work I’ve got lots of Jazz and some Flogging Molly…” Frankly, Kealey didn't care what they danced to, she was really game for the whole dancing idea in general...or maybe it was just the close proximity that the dancing required. Either way, there was plenty of room with the bed put up for a makeshift little dance floor and Kealey was ready to go.
While Kealey went about pulling out her CD Player as well as music collection, Jacen did take the liberty to get a little more comfortable. He pulled off his boots and left them by the door, then set his cowboy hat on the kitchen counter. From the sound of her fiddling with the radio dial it sounded as if her CD collection wasn't really offering what she thought would fit.
Turning, Jacen padded across the floor in his white socks as Kealey made her apology. Music with a beat really wasn't necessary, it had simply been a defense mechanism that would have forced them to have a little more room between them while they danced. Dancing to something like Jazz would be a lot intimate and sensual.
"Jazz would work just fine." Jacen replied with a smile as he felt a slight shiver move up and down his spine. How in the world was he supposed to maintain control when he would be holding Kealey that close? He was supposed to be resisting but if that was true then why did he keep putting himself in temptation?
"So, tell me about yourself." Jacen said teasingly as he took Kealey into his arms after she had started one of the CDs, "Do you come to this place often? I don't think we've bumped into each other before."
Roll playing, yes, roll playing could be good. If he started to think of her as more of a stranger and less of a friend then maybe... ah, hell, who was he trying to kid? He was starting to get out of his depth and could mean disaster if he wasn't extremely careful.

Jacen preferred the jazz to the top 40 station that Kealey had put on the radio. To be completely honest, the blond was relieved. The music that was playing was catchy but Kealey wouldn’t have had a clue how to actually dance to it. It only took her a moment fishing through the bag of CD’s to pull out on of her favorite Jazz selections and get it into the player. Soon the smooth sound filled the apartment and Kealey looked up to see Jacen much closer than he’d previously been.
He took her into his arms and Kealey moved easily as they started to dance. The jazz was slower, even easier to move to than the country music had been at the bar and Kealey almost closed her eyes as she relaxed. Then Jacen started talking and Kealey couldn’t help but grin. He wanted to play a game, did he?
”Here?” Kealey said when Jacen asked if she was a regular in the current establishment, ”It’s almost like home.” Then, to the question about herself she thought for a moment grinning. Getting to embellish was so much better than the truth, “Well…I just don’t know where to start…” Kealey said, a slow, wide grin spreading across her features as she looked up at her dance partner. Her eyes held his and a teasing glint creeped into them as she thought, then spoke, ”By day I’m a fashion student…but by night…”
Kealey feigned looking around the room as if there were crowds of people instead of just the two of them, then lowered her voice, leaning closer as if to keep anyone else from hearing. ”By night…and I don’t tell just anyone this…I’m a masked performer at one of the adult establishments in town.” She could barely keep a straight face as she brought up the joke from earlier, but somehow she managed, then she shrugged nonchalantly as they danced, ”You know…a girl’s got to protect her reputation in a town like this.” She looked at Jacen, eyes wide and that same slow smile spreading across her face, ”I trust you with my secret though. Now, why don’t you tell me about yourself?”
