The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Alexandra sighed at Sam’s comment on her powers. Maybe she had gotten dangerously close to blowing her cover up since she wasn’t supposed to have much control on her powers. Her mind began to work at high speeds, pulling out an explanation for the sudden display of powers. “ Well, I did had volunteers for experimenting this one and I never got it this far…” she said with a shrug, her eyes quietly scanning the four unconscious mutants’ bodies scattered across the field. “And I’m not manipulating air, just pushing oxygen molecules away from them. And it’s not as easy as it seems since I’m controlling four different areas.” Alexandra added with a tired frown.
Her eye color was flicking from the shiny dark blue to the cerulean blue of her contact lenses as she was losing concentration. “It’d be easier if I pushed all molecules away instead of letting small amounts to keep them alive but since what they’ve done isn’t that bad…” she said in a jokingly tone. She decided to let go on the control she held over the oxygen. She didn’t want to pass out on the mansion fields and she, Sam and Luke would surely be gone when they woke up. That if, is the x-boys weren’t planning to stick around till they woke up.
She gladly took Sam’s hand and completely agreed to let the boys there. If they ever wanted a rematch, it would have to wait. The quick getting up made her feel a bit dizzy, black spots dotting her vision. She stared at Sam’s shirt, that being the closest thing in her visual area, as she tried to regain her focus. Moments later, she decided to let herself to be a victim of the dizziness instead on focusing on pushing it away. Maybe that would fix up the sudden control thing. No, she still didn’t want to faint there, but instead welcomed the light-headed feeling that soon had her unable to stay on her own feet. She grabbed whatever was within an arm’s reach. Whether it was an arm, a shirt or whatever it might have been, Alexandra didn’t care. Nor see, as her eyes were now shut tightly.

The conversation was going well between the three but there was something off in Alexandra's expression. Focusing his sonar on the young woman just a little bit tighter Luke's expression became a touch more concerned. Small muscle twitches in both her face and body were sending him a signal that he had seen on a few people over the past several years. She was tired almost to the point of exhaustion though apparently she was fighting it off with shere willpower. It increased his impression of the young woman while also making him more concerned about her.
"Uh... Ale," Luke began to say but it was already to late. Suddenly her legs seemed to give out and she pitched toward CS as her eyes closed.
"Alexandra!" Luke said, the volume of his voice making his concern obvious. Moving over to CS quickly, Luke reached out and carefully searched her neck to make sure that her pulse was still strong.
"Here," Luke said as he quickly pulled off his shirt and handed it to CS, "Ice this up and use it as a compress then bring her inside. I'll run ahead and get water for her and some pillows on the couch so you can lay her down."
Without any hesitation Luke suddenly took off at a dead run. While not as fast as some of the mutants out there, the blind man's training had definitely given him a speed that was beyond what must humans could maintain. Now if he could just get what was needed and get back to the living room before CS arrived with their unconscious friend.

Now both standing up Sam listened to Alex as she explained her power tests, “Volunteers or not that's a dangerous, that will just be added to the list on why I don’t want to upset you…” Sam said with a laugh as he imagined how much energy it took for him to focus on a wide scale area like Winter Wonderland but in four different locations and just focusing on the individual molecules of oxygen. “Must take a toll on you, I don’t even think I could do that…”
Sam said as he scrunched his eyes slightly trying to focus his energy in to a few fixed locations that would make an attempt to slow. Half way through Sam decided to do it for another time seeing he was running on empty as is. If he was going to do it he figured having Doc Prof near by just in case he passed out from the large amount of power he would be expending.
Like most potential heroic moments for Sam time seemed to slow as Alex fell into him, unfortunately not all heroic moments required some daring feat some just required standing in once spot and catching something that falls, this time however that something was Alex. “Al!” Sam yelled as Luke tossed him his shirt and said to use it as a compress.
Sam was about to call after Luke but he was already booking it into the mansion. Looking down at the shirt then to the from the looks of it semi-here, semi-not Alex, “Waste of a good shirt…” Sam sighed as he put the shirt to her forehead and iced it slightly as he picked Alexandra up in a cradle carry.
As he entered the mansion Sam looked down at her wondering if she could hear him, “You know I think I might start charging you every time I save you… But then again you do save my but in fights…” he let out a small laugh as he entered the Mansion’s living room. Finding the most comfortable coach in the room Sam gently set her down and looked at his shirt where Alex’s head was resting, “I am either lactating or you're a drooler…” Sam said as he sat down on the floor, which put Alex directly behind his head. “Now where is Luke…” asked Sam.
She was actually beginning to think that Sam should take a full job protecting her from whatever dangers were lurking by. Like drowning in a computer – controlled room that was supposed to protect her or suddenly falling on the ground. She wasn’t feeling that bad, but opening her eyes caused the dizziness to return. The rest of her senses were working perfectly fine. So she clearly heard both men calling out her name and Luke telling Sam to ice up his shirt while he was setting up a couch. She soon felt the icy cloth onto her forehead and frowned. “Seriously Sam, I’ll be fine, there’s no need to-” She was swept of her feet and cradled into his arms. Sigh. She wasn’t being listened to. While he began to move away, Alexandra put her arms around his neck and burrowed her face into his chest. “This is so embarrassing…” she mumbled against his chest as she opened and closed her eyes. The dizziness was almost completely gone, instead she felt very sleepy. She couldn’t wait to be in her room and let herself take a nap.
Alexandra closed her eyes, as she began to picture the bed and soon enough she let herself being drawn into the relaxing unconsciousness. She was hearing what Sam was saying, every bit of it and in her own mind she imagined she was actually replying to him. Well, she was actually nomming on his shirt. Quite a lot she would say. Her lips formed a pout as she was being pulled away from her fluffy pillows. Hmmm, they felt so nice. And warm. “Mhtn. Back mha nice pilloah.” she mumbled, asking back her nice pillows. What she was being set down she frowned again. It was comfy, but she didn’t have her nice and warm pillows. “Chld.” she mumbled again, unhappy.
” I am either lactating or you're a drooler…”
Like she said, she was perfectly hearing Sam speaking and she imagined herself speaking with him as well. “Ha. Ha. Hahaha. Lacta-” Waaait. What did he just said? Drooler? She stopped her maniac sleepy laughing as her eyes widened and focused on Sam’s shirt. There it was… the proof. Her jaw dropped as she couldn’t believe she had done that. Her hand shot up directly to her opened mouth, body straightening up on the couch in the same time. All tiredness had evaporated as she was starring in shock at the drool on Sam’s shirt then at his face. Her cheeks began to turn to a very lovely shade of red. “Oh my god!” she gasped, her hand still on her mouth. “Tell me I didn’t do that!”

The run was accomplished in short order and thankfully the kitchen was empty. Luke didn't make a habbit of running around bare chested unless Raina was somewhere nearby and this was deffinately not one of thsoe times. However, in the midst of a crisis he had chosen to offer his shirt up to help the suffering of another. That was the true mark of a hero... wasn't it?
Quickly grabbing four bottles of water out of the fridge, Luke made a quick detour by one of the storage closets to pull out two pillows. Jogging down the halls he dodged through a few students, ignoring the comments and jokes that were being made as he just focused on getting to the living room.
"Oh my god! Tell me I didn’t do that!” Alexandra's voice seemed to echo through the room just as Luke jogged in.
"Well at least you're conscious. That's a good sign." Luke said with a quick smile, deciding that it would probably be best to ignore whatever he had just walked into the middle of. Walking over quickly he set the two pillows down on the couch so the young woman could lay on them if she wanted while tossing one bottle of water to CS and then crouching down beside the couch while offering one of the other bottles to Alexandra.
"Drink." He ordered quietly with a slight smile to make the order a little easier to take, "We don't want you passing out on us again."

Reaching up his hand as the water bottle was tossed his way he said to Alex, “You didn’t do it?” he repeated her statement only turning it into a question so it would seem that it wasn’t a big deal. From the sudden burst of life in her he assumed she was now fine so he didn’t really put his input when Luke told her to drink. Sure she could have been parched and she could have been a tad dehydrated seeing as his shirt on the left side had been soaked in he drool.
Grabbing the shirt he handed it back to Luke and said, “Think she will be okay all she needed was a nap…” he smirked as the wet spot in his chest lit up with a reflection of light as ice formed up to get rid of the wetness. He never pictured Alex as a drooler but then again they are often the ones you don’t expect that surprise you the most.
Falling backwards on the couch to where Alex was now straightened up, “Think I might need a nap…” Sam said with a yawn as he took a sip of water and looked to Luke, “She is a drooler…” he said with a smirk, not sure if Luke could tell why their was ice on his shirt.
Her mouth was still opened in shock when Luke walked in with the pillows and the bottles of water. She removed the hand from her now closed mouth and accepted the one he was offering to her. “Thanks.” she said. She wasn’t that thirsty but Luke was right. The water will keep her awake until she got to her room. She quietly glanced back at Sam and wondered if he was mad at her for drooling on him. Mental note to self: Do not, I repeat, do not fall asleep when someone is near you. You might scare everyone away.
“She’s a drooler.”
Alexandra sighed and looked at Sam. “Oh yeah, further embarrass me, please.” she said in a joking tone. Her head turned back and she let herself lean on the couch. Placing a hand on her belly, she stared at the ceiling with a slight yawn. Some day. Add this to the most embarrassing moments of your life. Hopefully, they won’t be too many. Alexandra straightened up, before falling asleep on the couch.
“Well, I think I might need to head to my room before falling asleep. I might drool on Luke too.” she said with a smile as she turned around to see Luke. The shirtless Luke. “Which might not be such a good idea.” she added as she got up.
“And Sam, you’re my hero again. And you seem to drag Luke to this job too.” she added with a slight grin on her face. “And with the trouble magnet I tend to be I might need you to hire you boys permanently.” Personal bodyguards. Hot personal bodyguards. Not that she minded that. Too bad they were X-Men. “Well, I’m off now. Thank you again, to both of you.” she said taking a playful bow. “And sorry for getting you in trouble. See you later!” she added then turned around, heading to her room. Some day, she repeated to herself, as she walked out of the living room, at a slow, tired pace.

Accepting the shirt back from Sam, Luke had to wince ever so slightly. Even though it wasn't iced solid the fabric was definitely cold enough that he didn't particularly want to pull it back on right now. No, even though the bare chested look might make some people uncomfortable it was far better than making himself miserable with icy fabric.
“She’s a drooler.” Sam said with amusement and perhaps a touch of satisfaction after taking a seat on the couch next to Alexandra.
“Oh yeah, further embarrass me, please.”
"I wouldn't be spreading that kind of information to much." Luke said with a grin as he stood upright and opened the water bottle in his own hand, "I happen to recall my sonar picking some pretty good size ice formations hanging off the edge of your mouth and cheek whenever you woke up while we were up north."
Was it a lie? Completely. Was it funny? Most deffinately. Smirking slightly, Luke took a large sip of his own water. He didn't feel particularly thirsty but after exertion like what they had gone through outside it was normally a good idea to make sure that you were well hydrated.
"Nope, I'm afraid you wouldn't be allowed to drool on me Alexandra." Luke said with a grin as Alexandra stood up, "Only Raina has that priveledge should she want it but I'm sure Sam here will be glad to take care of you anytime you need him."
After saying a quick goodbye, Luke sipped at his water as he watched the young woman make her way out of the room and apparently off to bed. Now there was a real question that was begging to be asked.
"So... CS," Luke began as he flopped down on the opposite end of the couch from his ice-mancer friend, "it really has been quite a while since you spent time with your girl, hasn't it?"

As Alex got up and left the room Sam smiled, “Hero work is what I do, you happen to be a great Damsel in Distress, even when your not trying to be…” he let out a small laugh as he rubbed his eye trying to distract himself from his small laugh turning into something that he shouldn’t say that could possibly get him in trouble with the girl. As she left the room Sam raised his hand slightly and waved her good bye.
Hearing the question being as his sight impaired in friend decided to take a seat Sam’s eyebrows raised as his heart rate quickened a little. “What are you trying to say Luke?” Sam asked as he took a sip from his water bottle as his heart rate slowed to its normal place with a deep breath. Sam had a hunch where Luke was going with this, “Mindless flirting, I do it with everyone even Raina,” Sam said as he continued, “Alex and I are just friends…” said Sam trying to sound convincing as possible.
Taking another sip of water Sam looked at the ground and said, “It has been a while, she has been going out on occasion late nights not answering my calls, don’t think she would do anything to ruin our relationship but… Getting me a little nervous… Something like the calm before the storm.”

"It's true that you do mindless flirting with pretty much every attractive woman here... even Raina." Luke said with a slight chuckle, continueing to stare straight ahead even as his sonar continued to monitor Sam's expression, "But there's one problem. I hate to break it to you but that was a little more than mindless flirting."
Falling silent, Luke took another sip of water as he listened to the other man relate what was going on with Leila. While it was true that Luke hadn't seen a whole lot of his girlfriend over the past sevearl weeks he didn't even have the slightest question or suspicion about her. The very fact that Sam was getting worried spoke volumes but Luke really didn't want to be the one that pointed it out to him.
"Just some friendly advice," Luke said as he rose to his feet and finally turned his face to look at Sam, "make sure you know your feelings before you or someone else gets hurt. You're a good guy Sam and you deserve the best but only you know what that 'best' is."

‘More than mindless flirting?’ Sam asked himself as Luke said it, ‘is it really?’ he asked himself again. Maybe Luke was right, the lack of Leila had become apparent and people had been commenting on that fact that her absences in the mansion was becoming quite noticeable. Sam knew what flirting was and he had been called one all his life but it was always meaningless, so why was it now that Sam had seriously been considering what Luke had been saying? “I don’t know what to say man…” said Sam as he ran his fingers from his hair then froze the contents of his water bottle and then thawed it quickly in his hands trying to help him focus on something.
The silence was saying more than what Luke was saying before. It was becoming clearer and clearer that the lack of Leila was taking its toll on the relationship. Sam didn’t want to give her an ultimatum or anything but if things didn’t change someone was going to end up hurt. Someone hurt was the last thing on his mind.
Standing up and meeting Luke’s gaze Sam took in every word that came from his sight-impaired friend had said, “My feelings are always the hardest to understand.” Sighing and shrugging, “But you’re right, I do need to get a hold of this…” patting Luke on the shoulder Sam turned and waved, “I’ll let you know how it turns out man,” Sam was aware that he would probably see Luke before he saw Leila and he ignored the fact and tried to stay positive as he left the room he quickly tried to gather his thoughts on Leila and now the new resident Alexandra.

"I'll see you later Sam. Take care!" Luke called after the other man as he dissapeared into the hallway. Taking another sip of his bottle of water the blind man turned and headed for the kitchen and the nearest recycling bin. After tossing his now empty bottle into the correct container he made his way upstairs to see about getting cleaned up and on to his other activities for the day.
"Watch yourself buddy... don't let yourself or anyone else get hurt." Luke murmured to himself, his mind still dwelling on Sam's situation even as he grabbed up his change and clothes and headed for the shower.
