The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Well that sounds wonderful I'd love to meet mister.. DocProf." Ruben nodded. He looked over at Setsuna for a moment as he thought many thoughts, none of them he would share in public.
"That's it?" he asked Tricity. "We're just... allowed to stay here?" he smiled, surprised by the uncanny hospitality. "Not that I'm not greatful, miss Tricity... or is it Mrs?" he asked cautiously, offering a hand to help her up from the bench.
*She took his hand and stood up, stretching her back. Her stomach lurched a bit when he asked for a suffix, but she smiled and ignored the creeping thoughts that were surfacing.* "Tricity is fine, thanks. And you can drop the Mister on the DocProf. It's actually short for doctor and professor. He's a teacher at the school and obviously a healer, hence, DocProf." *Tricity nodded toward the mansion so they could start to head inside.* "So, there are plenty of empty rooms for you guys to choose one. We don't really have a special section for couples or anything, so you can just pick any room. Most of the adults, including me, stay on the far end of a hallway on the second floor. Oh, are you two sharing a room?"
*Kilala didn't say anything when Tricity asked, but looked between the both of them as they also looked at her while continuing to head inside. Not that she minded sharing a room with Ruben, but she didn't want to answer for him so the only thing that came out of her mouth was...* "Uuuhh..."
Ruben felt his temperature raise as he realized he'd hit a sensitive topic. 'Been here five minutes and already I've managed to make a fool of myself.' He thought as he followed Tricity up the road towards the mansion.
He gave Setsuna a look that conveyed his feeling like an idiot as the two walked behind the young headmistress. Taking a deep breath, Ruben almost choked when the question of rooming arrangements came up. He looked at Setsuna, trying to read her eyes but maybe it was her ninja training that would've made her perfect for poker. He couldn't read into her at all... deciding it would be less awkward, Ruben spoke up.
"Uhm no, Tricity. We're not together... I mean..." he fumbled over his words, not wanting to hurt Setsuna or make her think she wasn't becoming special to him. "Separate rooms please. I'd like mine near the infirmary if that's possible." he added, keeping his eyes forward towards the mansion, afraid to see Setsuna's reaction as he tried to be a gentleman.
*Tricity felt a bit awkward. She didn't want to put the two in a weird situation, so she smiled and opened the huge doors for them to come inside.* "I'm sorry. I assumed, that was wrong of me. Like I said, there are plenty of rooms to choose from."
*At Ruben's answer, Setsuna's stomach turned a bit. She didn't mind not sharing a room; it's not like they knew each other for very long. But to hear the 'We're not together' part was tough. Setsuna obviously knew they WEREN'T together, but it was still hard on the ears. She kept quiet. As Ruben went ahead, Kilala smiled at Tricity as she walked passed her, and into the mansion. Looking around the hall was like a dream.* "Wow..."
"Wow indeed." Ruben said as he looked around the most expensive home he'd ever seen. "Well I don't really have much to move... just what's in my backpack. I guess I'll just follow you to whichever room you deem best suited for me." Ruben smiled gently to Tricity.
As the two followed the woman, he gave Setsuna a look of 'what do you think?' with a smile as he reached for her hand and gave it a small reassuring squeeze.
