The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"....because people thought I was mental." Riruki said. "I preferred it better than boarding school, honestly. The girls there were so mean." she thought for a minute.
"People think that you go to schools like that and you become a lesbian because the girls are so nice. I think I may have become one because they were so mean." she quipped.
"Well that's reverse physcology for ya." She shrugged. "Yea, I haven't found anyone out in this world yet, but I'm sure that now that I have a home and friends and I am actually socializing with people instead of talking to myself, that might change here soon." She layed back on the grass, putting her hands behind her head as she gazed out into the sky.
Riruki smiled. Usually mntioning she was a lesbian got the other party to come out or stay in. She avoided making a fool of herself. She sighed and leaned against the tree.
"I really do hope you fit in here. Home is a very vital tradition." she answered in heartfelt honesty. "Family is necessary for human development."
"I survived, but I don't really think I developed." She sighed and itched her head. "But now the people here at this school are my family." She smiled as the word rolled off her tongue, "family", what a beautiful word.
"How nice of you to be able to accept that so quickly. Even I do not consider this my family or my home. I am just here for a short while. I lost a friend a couple of years ago and I hoep he is still in the city." She shrugged.
"But it is very nice here and I am very grateful."
"Well, it's the only good place that I've lived. Why not go ahead and call it my home?" She smiled. "What's your friend's name? I have not talked to that many people in the city long enough to learn their names, but what's the harm in seeing?"
"Yea, that's definately a name that sticks without a last name." She shrugged and thought back as hard as she could, but she didn't remember ever meeting someone with that name. "Nope, sorry, doesn't ring a bell."
"Yes, I know. No, it is fine really. I have extreme patience and I believe that we are such close friends that, if anything is wrong, I would feel it in my own body."
She sighed and Hina popped into her mind.
"Perhaps we should get lunch sometime? I enjoyed speaking to you, but I must go now." She stood and bowed before walking off in the direction Hina had taken.
*Tricity ushered them onto the lawn so she could close the gate. After it was closed, she motioned them to follow as she sat down on one of the iron benches.* "Damn, I need to get cushioned seats out here. So, what are your names?" *She asked, looking over the two newbies.*
"This is Setsuna, and my name is Ruben Lambert. Doctor Ruben Lambert." he said extrending a hand and smile. Though he wasn't really a doctor, he knew he was robbed of his license and felt no guilt in introducing himself as such.
"I was hoping your institute could use a doctor. My .. mutation allows me to heal others quite well and my medical knowledge speaks for itself..." he said as he searched his backpack, pulling out a folded up paper dossier of his records. If this had been a job interview, he could easily have been laughed at. But having lived on the streets for the past while, he hoped his files would say all enough to his credit.
"Perhaps I could work may way for room and board." he smiled shyly, looking Tricity over.
"From the looks of it you're about 8 months in." he said with a smile. "Do you know if it will be a boy or a girl yet? Or do you want it to be a surprise?"
"AH! Don't tell me!" *She said, putting both her hands over her ears and smiling.* "I want it to be a surprise...you're pretty good. And don't worry about the room and board business. You don't have to pay to live here. Though, we always need another hand in the infirmary. Our head doctor if the DocProf. His mutation gives him the ability to see how patients were injured and curing whatever the problem is. He could use more hands though." *Tricity looked away from him and at the Asian woman who seemed very...intense.* "Set..suna, was it? That's really pretty. What is your mutation?"
*Kilala saw a petal from the tree of the cherry blossom she was standing under slowly fall to the ground. She created a field in front of her just as the flower passed by her chest. It fell into the field and immediately slowed its descent to the earth.* "I can create forcefields that slow time. Whatever is inside of them, slows down. I can sometimes stop time in them, but I'll most likely pass out from the amount of energy I put into it." *The leaf reached the end of the field and hit the ground a moment later.*
