The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"It'll take more time than you're used to but I still believe you'll get your sight back." Luke said quielty, trying to remain as encouraging as possible, "Your body has endured lots of trauma but never has it been forced to deal with internal damage like you experienced with that bullet bouncing around inside your skull. For all you know the bullet short circuited your healing factor a little bit to. Just don't give up."
Watching the cat once focus on catching the annoying fly, Luke fell silent again. There would be plenty of time for more talk and encouragement at a later time. For now she needed to focus on learning how to use her hearing in a brand new way. Though she fumbled at the beginning, once again sara was successful after several minutes of work.
"It just take practice Sara." Luke said with a nod, "You've already seen me practicing with my new ability. I can't handle it right from the beginning and you can't learn how to use your hearing in a brand new way right from the beginning."
“Thanks Luke” Sara said though she didn’t really believe it.
Sara rubbed her fingers together as Luke continue his encouraging words. Then going on about his new ability and something in Sara’s head clicked. Something she really should have warned Luke about weeks ago.
“It’s good you’ve got a power that’s offensive now. A few months ago I ran into someone who was imitating you on the street. He called himself the Staff.” Sara tapped her cane absent mindedly as she went on.
“You might of heard a news report on him. He posted for the news van and every thing. Told people you were the impersonator and challenged you on TV.” Sara chose to skip a lot of the details about when she had confronted him. “He’s a mutant who seemed to be able to teleport objects. He deals with explosives, and he thinks your supper hero name is now Vector. It was the next closest name I could come up with on the spot, to describe your abilities.”

Luke froze as Sara began to fill him in about an impersonator that was apparently out to challenge Wraith. As she mentioned his teleporting ability the memory of a rooftop battle with a costume clad figure suddenly sprang fresh to his mind. Apparently he had impressed the thief in that battle because not it sounded as though the man were out to battle him with explosives as his main weapon.
"Wonderful." Luke muttered in obvious annoyance, "I finally reach a point in my life where I have a steady relationship, the courage to take over my family's company, and the where with all to come out as a mutant and this joker decides to throw a wrench in my plans."
He had thought that his life was finally on track. He was in love with Raina and after his spirit guide thing up north, he actually felt like he had a clear picture of where he should be going with his life.
"I wish you would have had a chance to tell me earlier." Luke said with a sigh, "Of course, if I'd known I probably would have stayed here to deal with that situation instead of going up north so maybe it was for the best. He didn't happen to tell you a time or place that he wanted to 'challenge' me, did he?"
“It’s better that you went to Canada with us. Raina needed it if nothing else.” Sara reached out where Luke had spoke to find his shoulder and give him a light squeeze. “The man didn’t give a time or place he just bad mouthed you in front of some news cameras. You could probably look it up on you tube or something.”
Sara’s eyes blinked over the liquid golden iris. The slits of her eyes were still too thin to look like they were even there. “It’s a stupid challenge you shouldn’t have to deal with.” Sara said. Plus it was too dangerous. He made too dangerous with the explosives. As it was Sara had done some healing that night, thanks to him. Sara wasn’t completely happy with her friends going after normal criminals. Herself included in one or two cases, but Staff wasn’t in the normal criminal category.
“Look, don’t go looking for him. He doesn’t know a thing about you other than the fact you have a feline friend that just happens to know you as Vector and can kick his butt if he puts a toe too close your way.” Sara just gave away that she’d gotten herself involved there. but she didn’t really care. Staff or what ever his name was didn’t know enough to do anything.

"You tube... of course. I should have thought of that." Luke said rather dryly. He hadn't thought about anything like that because he had never been able to actually 'watch' movies or videos. That meant that in most cases you tube was basically useless but perhaps he would make an exception in this case.
"And I won't go looking for trouble but if he decides to show up where I am then I won't have much choice." Luke said with a slight smirk, "If he wants to start trouble I'll do my part but at least, thanks to you, I know what kind of abilities I'll need to deal with."
It was kind of amazing to hear that Sara had stepped up to face an imposter that was apparently out to ruin his reputation. Sure she had helped to protect his life at previous times but most people wouldn't bother to stick their necks out for someone else reputation. The fact that she had was rather touching.
"You tube... of course. I should have thought of that."
“You know most you tube does have sound…” Sara sensed the slight hostility in Luke’s voice about the you tube site, for obvious reasons and she knew exactly why. Being blind sucked.
Why stand up to the Staff? Sara didn’t have that much to loose. Luke did. So what if Sara stood up to someone. Frankly she stood up to people all the time, just this one time had a better reason than the others.
Sara sighed. “It’s not a problem.” Sara started heading in the general direction that was the door to the Dangerous room. She was already starting to try and keep what things were located where in her head, even with the sparing she’d done with Luke. “I think I need to catch up on what Doc Prof says I need. Rest. I’m told I’ve been set up with a small dorm here. At least for the next few days.” Though Sara really didn’t know how long she would choose to use it. “Call again if you need help with that ability.”

"Computer, close program." Luke ordered as he and Sara began to make their way to the exit door. Immediately the room reverted to its status as just a big empty space. Once they were out in the hall Luke continued along with Sara until they reached the elevator or stairs that would take her to her room.
"I'll definately give you a call when I need help." Luke said with a slight smile, "You do the same. I'm always around if you need a friend."
With quick goodbyes Luke turned back on his way and headed off to wander the mansion for a little while. If he bumped into Raina then they would have a chance to chat and if he didn't then he'd be making sure that everything was secure before heading up to his own dorm room. Just to be on the safe side he wanted to stick close to the mansion in case Sara needed him again.
