The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Even though they weren’t at this little scenario as long as he would of liked Sam felt confidante about repercussions it had on Lee, she at least learned that she can find someone if need be and she was able to follow him despite how many kids were in the hallway, “Off the top of my head Lee, I would have to say anywhere from fifty to sixty. Depends if a few of the regulars decided to skip class or not.”
Walking over to his desk and leaning against it Sam smiled and said, “I have one more idea for testing your power but that towel is going to have to cover your eyes again,” Sam walked over and took his Ipod and said, “I’ll take that” and he put it on his desk and said, “If you wouldn’t mind stepping in the middle of the office I think we can get started.”
Grinning and walking behind his desk Sam said, “I’ll be walking around the room and at various locations I’ll stop and from there I want you to use your radar to guess how close I am to you, pretty simply right?”
All Lee could do when she heard how many other people had been in the hallway was blink at Sam. There had been 50-60 people in the hall there with her, and she had still somehow managed to keep track of Sam, was still able to make out his energy as being separate. Of course, that was probably 50 or 60 people total, but still, it was shocking.
"There were really that many?" Lee asked, still shocked by the idea.
Lee watched as Sam walked to his desk, leaned against it, and said that he had one more idea that'd he'd like to try in testing her powers. He wanted her to cover her eyes again and stand in the middle of the room? Well, it did make sense, at least the covering of her eyes, she was trying to be able to make more sense out of what she was feeling, trying to be able to actually use her siphoning. She'd even closed her eyes for part of that first test to try and focus better.
So Lee stepped into the middle of the room, but didn't put the towel around her eyes yet. Instead, she waited to hear what his idea, this test, was.
And then Lee smiled. That was something she herself had decided a while ago that she had to work on, something that she had actually tried on her own, but wasn't able to do a whole lot of considering the only time Tarin was really far enough away from her to have it work, without them being out in a crowd somewhere, was at the shop when he was in the back room, and she knew exactly where he was then, exactly how far away he would be.
Nodding her head in agreement with Sam's plan, Lee raised the towel to her face again and tied it over her eyes. Once it was secure, Lee closed her eyes behind it just to be on the safe side and took a deep breath, calming herself. She could feel Sam, feel his energy, coming from where he had been standing behind his desk. That was what, about ten feet away from her?
Lee just hoped that she wasn't taking more energy than normal while she was focusing on it like this, she didn't want to be taking more than she had to from Sam.

She was ready and so was Sam. He wasn’t sure exactly how much good this would do with just one person in a room while Lee tracks them but like his powers distancing was everything. She probably needed to figure out where he radar ended. His power only stretched thirty feet but like Lee he had to work on it every day to make himself that much better at what he did with ice.
Letting out a small sigh and started to move. Putting ice under his feet Sam silently moved around the he started off behind his desk and worked halfway around the room then shot to the opposite side to where Lee’s back was facing. Conjuring up and ice golem about his size on the other side of Lee.
Using his powers as the puppet master Sam made the Golem reach over and tap Lee on the shoulder as a form of distraction. “Where am I Lee?” Sam asked as he stood behind Lee a few feet away from her as the golem was in front of her poking her on the shoulder.
Lee felt Sam standing there across the room from her. That much was for sure, but had he started moving yet? Lee wasn't entirely sure; she figured that he would be moving slowly, testing her that way to see if she could point out those minuscule changes. Either that, or make really fast, drastic changes to see if she could find him again.
Finally Lee was sure that Sam was moving. It was hard to tell as it was happening, he must have been moving fairly slowly, but he certainly was not standing where he had started out.
Slowly, Lee felt Sam moving around behind her, but she stayed still, standing facing the same direction she had started in. But mentally, she was tracking Sam around the room.
And then Lee felt someone tapping her on the shoulder, and she must have jumped about three feet in the air. Sam was too far away from her to be able to tap her like that. Plus, he was behind her, and it felt like the tap had come from in front of her.
Once it felt like her feet were back on the floor, Lee started moving backward, away from where the tap had come from and toward where she had felt Sam.
"What the hell?" Lee asked, noticing as she was speaking that her breathing was a tad faster than normal from surprise, and the slight scare of being touched by someone she didn't feel there. She must have been only about a foot away from Sam now, and she half turned, tearing her blindfold off as she did, looking at him first, then over at where she had been. To see an ice figure standing there.

It was going smoothly, he could tell that lee knew where he was because she was calm; he figured she would be the type to freak out if she was wearing a blindfold and not know what was going on if she couldn’t see him. He was slightly impressed with her radar. There was so many times Sam wished he had the an ability like that, having eyes in every direction would have saved his but from so many bad situations he got himself into. He would never have to worry about so one watching his back when he could d the watching himself.
When he created the golem and made it tap her he knew she was startled, she must have been focusing so intently on him that she wasn’t sure what happened. The jump startled Sam as she got closer to him and away from the golem and then she started to back up getting even farther away from the golem. The golem didn’t move but stood frozen his hand outstretched as he waited for orders from Sam.
As soon as she ripped her blindfold off and breathing heavily Sam was already upon her. He put his hands on her shoulders and said, “Relax, nothing to worry about…” removing his hands from Lee he walked towards his golem and turned to look at Lee, “Figured it would be to easy for you to find me unless you had a distraction of some kind and seeing as I work these and they shouldn’t have any energy on their own I figured this would be perfect for you.” His eyes narrowed and said, “He isn’t that scary,” said Sam in a playful tone as he put his arm around the ice minions shoulder as he patted it’s head, “He is completely harmless less I tell him otherwise.”
Grinning to Lee he asked, “So would you like to continue?”
The moment that the blind fold was off her eyes, Sam was there, his hands on her shoulders, telling her to relax. Relax? How could she relax with that thing standing there?
A thing that Sam was walking toward and putting his arm around its shoulders a moment later. Seeing that, hearing Sam speaking, Lee's shock and slight fear was turning into a bit of anger.
"You try relaxing when something you can't see suddenly touches you," Lee pointed out, her voice still anxious. "I've been feeling someone around me, someone who's not actually there, and you thought that having something I can't sense suddenly touch me while I can't see was a good idea?"
Lee took a deep breath and walked part way across the room, in the opposite direction from Sam and his...friend? After about five steps, Lee stopped and turned back to face him, a confused frown on her face. "I thought this part was about fine tuning, not about if I could sense you?" She asked. She didn't need to test to see if she could sense Sam when it was only the two of them in a room together, she knew she could. She'd been able to with Tarin in the shop and the apartment, too. The question she had had was whether she could pinpoint where he was.

After what seemed to be Lee scolding him about using his golem to help her train. “I used him as a tool of distraction, you could already tell where I was you followed me through the entire hallway blind and deaf.” He paused as he flicked his ice golem, “This guy hear was to act as a distraction making it more difficult for you, like I said, from the looks of it there isn’t much of a challenge for you if it’s just you trying to pinpoint where I am.” He frowned slightly he thought it was a good idea, it certainly served its purpose as a distraction.
Watching a slightly agitated Lee turn her back and walk to the center of his office Sam snapped his fingers as his ice golem shattered into small bits of ice. Shrugging slightly Sam said, “It is, you could already tell where I was, I figured if you’d have a distraction of some kind it would be more difficult for you and later down the line you’d be able to pinpoint someone in a situation which puts a lot of stress on the mind.”
Shrugging again Sam said, “But if you feel more comfortable without the distraction we can do it your way.” Sam moved a few inches to the left silently as he waited for Lee to either resume the training or do something else.
Sam thought it had been a good idea, a good distraction since because she had been able to follow him through the corridors (and she still wasn't exactly sure how she had been able to do that with how many other people had been there), that she knew where he was and that was good enough. Yes, she had known without much trouble where Sam had been in the room, but part of it, at least she had thought, was trying to figure out how far away he was, as well.
"Pin pointing is more than just direction," Lee pointed out to Sam. "I know I can tell the difference between 5 and 15 feet when I'm feeling both of them, but I'm not sure I can say for sure that some one is 5 feet away from me, or 10 feet, or 15...Wouldn't it be better if I'm not being distracted while I'm trying to figure out what those feel like?
"Maybe later," Lee allowed after a moment of thought. "After I know what I'm doing, when I know how it all feels and can tell exactly where someone is, then it might be useful to distract me, but how does it really help now?"
Taking a breath and shaking her head slightly, Lee stepped back into the middle of the room where she had started this exercise, and moved to put the blind fold back on. She was appreciative of Sam's help, he was just being a little too helpful.
"Yeah, I think for now," Lee said as she finished securing the blind fold. "I'd prefer to try without the distractions. I want to make sure I can do this, first. So could you move somewhere else so I can try and tell where you are and how far away you are?"

Letting out a calm sigh Sam shrugged and moved as Lee moved to the center of the office. This was after all Lee’s training session and if she wanted to learn a certain way who was he t say no, she wasn’t a student or a resident. Sam was only doing this as a favor to a friend. A friend who had a husband in a coma so as a friend it was his job to try and make her forget everything that was going wrong for the time being.
Until the time she was ready he would hold his comments and suggestions to himself. After all each one of his students had a different learning style, some needed to be coddled while others need the harsh tough teacher that would push them to go farther. Lee isn’t a student but a friend, so if anything she shouldn’t have to get the tough teacher that Sam loved playing.
Watching her as she was now blindfolded Sam silently slowed, as he was sure she couldn’t hear him stop. He knew that she could tell where he was but she herself said pinpointing was different from direction. Turning towards her he bent his knees slightly and breathed waiting for Lee to determine how far he was from her.
