The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The meeting with Luke went better than expected. Thigs would be installed very soon and he would be able to test it out. Of course it would take longer for him to get everything set up because Luke was only going to be setting up a few obvious things. While Streak himself would be setting up the more subtle aspects of the new security system.
Perfect weather for setting up a security system. The sun was shining and the wind was blowing just enough to keep it comfortable outside. Streak was waiting outisde the on the mansion ground for Luke to show up with the required parts. Once they started, Streak could only imagine that things would go fairly fast. Shawn looked at his watch and thought. He should be here any minute.

In most companies, putting a blind man behind the wheel of a company vehicle would be an outrage. A suicidal tendency that would most likely kill both the driver and any chance of the company ever having any type of vehicle coverage any again. For 'Jacobs & Jacobs' it was just par for the course, though noone really knew about it. The fact that Luke would occasionally drive a company van for instalation purposes was something he didn't broadcast and didn't figure he ever would. After all that technicality of being blind kind of procluded him from getting a valid drivers license.
With sunglasses firmly in place and the driver window rolled down, Luke was enjoying a chance to get out in a vehicle. The air was crisp and cool, but not cold and the sun was shining brightly. It was a good day to just be alive and he was going to enjoy every bit of it even if he was working. Thankfully an advance crew had gone to the mansion a day or two before to make sure he would have the correct number of cameras and wall sensors so it should be a pretty quick install.
"Hey Streak!" Luke called out to the man that was standing near the mansion gate as he pulled up, "Delivery for you. Ready for it?"

"Yup bring it on in." Streak said to Luke one he'd pulled up. The other supplies they needed were mostly here already. That made things easier. Streak helped unload the remaining things that Luke had brought out of the truck and set them near the gate. After everything was unloaded they would start the work on the cameras and wall sensors. "Luke you'd better lead the way because I don't know how this stuff is set up, or how it works." Streak admitted to him. He was excited to start the work and waiting outside for Luke was just showing his impatience.
Streak started absentmindedly sorting through the piles of of wires, lenses, sensors, cameras, and everything else that was there piled near the gate from today and the day before. "So where do we start?" Streak finally asked looking throughlly confused. All this was beyond him. He would eventually figure it out but he needed it to go up today and as fast as possible with as few people knowing about it as possible. "The faster this goes up the safer this place'll be." He said more thinking outloud than anything else.

After unloading the van Luke reached inside and grabbed out a tool belt with wire cutters, wire strippers, screw driver, and a power drill. Quickly fastening the tools around his waist the blind man walked over to where Streak had been sorting everything out.
"Well the guys yesterday ran the main wires from the mansion out to the junction box over there." Luke said as he nodded towards a small metal boxed fastened to the wall right near ground level, "The wires are buried and the junction box is out of sight from where most people would look. After we're done with the install you might think about planting a bush or two in front of it just to further disguise it."
"We'll focus on getting the cameras up first and then we'll do the sensors." He continued as he picked up a box of cameras, "You've already got the gate itself covered wither intermitant coverage along the wall so we're just going to focus on strengthening your wall video coverage so that there won't be any more blind spots. Sound good?"
As the two began to walk down the wall Luke suddenly had a thought. "Should I bring my ladder or do you just want to build us one when we need it?" Luke asked with a grin in Streak's direction, "Probably easier if you do it so we don't have to carry anything else."

Luke had been more informed of what was going on than Streak had been. He knew that Luke's men had been out here the day before but they wouldn't tell him what sort of work they had done. He was glade that the men had done so much of the work already. That meant less work they had to do today. Streak then replied to Luke. "Sounds great man. I'll just make a ladder for wherever we need it. It'll make things go faster"
Streak piked up some of the camera's and parts as they started to make their way to their destination. Once they were there, he set down the box and started setting up the cameras in places where people wouldn't normally look. Some of the older cameras were a little obvious. But that was ok because if you couldn't see any cameras people might get a little paranoid. What people wouldn't know is that if they were to still be seen even if people didn't think they were being watched, people would do things that were more reckless and easier to get caught. "I'm guessing this is the easy part right Luke?" Streak asked as he finished setting up a few of the cameras.

The weather was relatively pleasant and Luke was enjoying a chance to talk with Streak. He had of course been around the other man at different times, including his joining the X-Men as well as Raina's party, but he hadn't gotten to know much about the Mansion Head of Security. Other than some basic perceptions that Luke had gathered, Streak was still pretty much a mystery man.
"This is deffinately the easy part." Luke replied with a laugh as he connected the apropriate wires to the next camera along the wall, "The hard part is actually responding to intruders if anyone decided to try and get past your security."
Climbing back down from the latest silver ladder he had ascended the two men continued walking along the wall, stopping at aproximately standard distances in order to put up the next camera and fill in the various coverage gaps. "So how'd you come to be here at the mansion, Streak? Did you come here as a student originally or did you show up after you were already out of school?"

Streak to was enjoying the time spent outside. He didn't know much about Luke except for some obvious hints and tings that he'd picked up on when they'd spent time together. Apparently Luke thought that this was a good time to bond with Streak. He didn't mind, afer all who doesn't spend hours on end setting up security systems with their team mates. Streak started to answer the question.
"Well I came here with the intent of taking classes, but things didn't exactly work out as planned. I took my time deciding on whether or not to take classes. I finally decided not to since I'd already graduated. That's about the time when things started to get hectic and they raided the mansion for mutants to throw in their camps. After that I decided to stay here and help out as much as I can to prevent something like that from happening again." Streak said. The memories of the chaotic times came back to him as if they had happened yesterday.
Streak moved on to another area and started to put up another camera. They were moving along quickly and neither of them needed to be a genius to figure out how to set up the cameras. After the time that passed he didn't mind talking about some of the things and he was sure that it'd only get better with time. They were almost done with the cameras and would soon be able to move on to other things that would be harder to place. "I don't think I'll have any trouble responding to any attacks once we're done Luke." Streak smiled. He was open for any more questions that Luke had for him expecially since he'd told many of the stories over and over again to various people.

"Yeah, I was one of the lucky ones when it came to the camps." Luke offered his story as he and Streak began to work on the last few cameras, "I came over from Europe after graduated college and had only been here for a few months before the Registration Act was put in place. Being a law abiding citizen I went in and registered and once they found out exactly what my power was they decided I wasn't much of a threat. Sure I had to wear an arm band to monitor my movements but they left me on the outside."
It had been a strange time and Luke always wondered whether he might have done more good had he been in the camps instead out on the streets. Maybe he would have met some of these mutants in those camps and become friends long before they actually had. Maybe he could have been there for Raina when she was going through so much turmoil and could have helped her through the whole situation. So many 'what ifs' that he would never know.
"I expect anyone that attacks will be quite surprised by your rapid response time." Luke said with satisfaction as he connected the last camera. Climbing back down to the ground the Luke began to head back toward the main gate along with Streak in order to collect the sensors that would be the next part of their installation, "So were in you in the camps or did you end up being part of the resistance outside of the camps?"

Streak looked at Luke probably a bit colder than he intended. It wasn't his fault. It was the memories. Shawn then looked away and continued his work as he answered. "I was in the camps with Raina and Neena and a lot of others here. That's where I got these scars. I guess they aint as apparent as they used to be." The scars were definitely apparent to him, whether he was using his powers or not. Streak had to suppose that they could be seen easier when he wasn't using his powers.
"Well you were a lucky one I guess. It seemed more like anyone and everyone they could get a hold of ended up in the camps. There were even some there that registered that were thrown in the camps." Streak said to him. "If anything, being in the camps made people more paranoid and hateful of humans than they were before. Heck when this place reopened I didn't answer the door for a while without using my powers. Mainly because I didn't want to be caught unprepared again. So did you help the resistance?" Streak asked Luke as he connected the last wire to the camera he was installing.
"Well I think that's the last of the cameras." Streak finally said looking around. "What's next?" They were on a roll and he wanted to keep it going.

"Next are the wall sensors. We'll install those in sort of random distances from each other so that it won't be so predictable that people could avoid it easily." Luke replied, choosing to answer the easier of the two questions first. For the next several minutes he was silent as the two men collected yet more boxes out of the van and then began to make their way along the wall once again.
"To be honest, I didn't even know there was a resistance until after everything had gone down." Luke said quietly after he finally decided that the silence had stretched on to long, "I helped fund the lawyers that eventually were able to overthrow the Registration act but that's was all I did. I was to much of an outsider at that point and not even other mutants really wanted to trust me. They'd never seen me involved with other mutants so I'm guessing they didn't even know me or the suspected I might be a spy."
It was strange to admit out loud a thought that had gnawed at the back of his mind for some time. Had it been something as simple as noone knowing he even existed or was it a complex as other mutants truly believing he was a spy? Luke never thought that he acted in such a way that it would make it seem as though he were a spy but maybe he did act a touch more suspiciously than he realized. After all, he was so used to living the life of Wraith that maybe he did play his cards a little close to the chest. "Maybe I'll ask Raina about that later... get her opinion."

Streak followed Luke to the van and helped collect more equipment. "Sounds good man." He said as he started heading back towards the fence. Finally LUke answered his other question. He didn't hold it against people if they didn't help with the resisitance. In fact, he wasn't all that surprised that the resisitance was hard to find. He personally would have thought that someone who registered was a traitor. He still thought that in some cases because he was sure most people weren't happy about it and if they did they had something to gain from sending people to the camps.
He started to insert a wall sensor and hook it up. This was a lot harder than setting up the cameras and he was having a hard time geting it all set up. After a little grunting, groaning, and maybe even a little bit of cursing, he'd managed to get one of the sensors running. He took a few deep, exaggerated breaths before saying, "So do you have any more questions about the camps or something else?" He picked up another sensor and moved along the wall.
They would be the only ones that would know where these were going to be placed. Not even the other X-Men would know. But that was all for the better. They would also have to know certain things about determining the seemingly randomness of their placement of the sensors. Just to make it harder to decifer a patern there were two people setting up the sensors, therefore they'd have to know that before they could avoid any of them. Good luck getting around this stuff. Streak thought as he worked on another sensor. It was going to be fun to see how well it all worked.

Streak didn't seemed to have any comments about Luke's absence from the resistance but that honestly didn't surprise the blind man. Quite often people would get uncomfortable with the idea of a suspected spy. The fact he hadn't fought in the resistance was one thing but the fact he had willingly registered was most definitely something else entirely.
"I think that'll probably cover it for now, but I'll let you know if I think of anything else." Luke replied with a slight chuckle as he turned his full attention back to working on these sensors. The silence wasn't really awkward at all but instead was the comfortable silence of two men working together to achieve a common goal. Once this work was finished they would be able to monitor the area for intruders far better than at previous times. When intruders were detected it would be a simple matter to evacuated students into the mansion while activated the electrical pit falls that would be randomly spread across the grounds. During the day they would be off so that none of the students could accidently fall into them but at night or when activated from the control room they would be the perfect surprise for any uninvited guests.

"Ok." Streak said. He was happy with the answers that he'd provided Luke with. He was also content with Luke's answers. Some of the answers begged a few questions but he didn't want to press any issues. He also wanted to turn his full attention to the security task at hand. He would be very happy once they were finished with this. Of course once Luke and him were done he would still have some other security measures to install. Those would go much slower because he would be working on them alone and he would be working on them during the night so that he wouldn't be drawing attention to himself with the other residents.
Since the two mutants had stopped their conversation things seemed to be going a lot faster and both were making a lot of progress on the sensors. Streak looked at his pile and noticed that there were only about two left. He took a step back to look at his work. The sensors were small and the wires were even smaller. When he looked at the wall as a whole he couldn't even see some of the sensors. He could see a few of the others because he knew where they were and he had just finished installing them. He stepped back up to the wall and continued putting the sensors in.

The fact that there were two dedicated people working to achieve a common goal made the work seem to fly by. In relatively a short time the last of the sensors were in place and both Luke and Streak were standing back admiring their handywork.
"Random enough that it won't be obvious to anyone coming near the wall but still tight enough to give us full coverage." Luke said with a smile as he unbuckled his tool belt and just hung it over his shoulder for the moment. Turning toward Streak he offered a hand to the other man along with his grin, "Looks like my work is done for now. I guess I'll get the van and equipment back to the shop. Give me a call if you need help with any of the rest of the stuff."

Streak shook Luke's hand and smiled. They'd done good work together and he was glad that they'd finished so quickly. "Yup sure looks like it. I'll finish this stuff up and probably call ya to have it tested or I'll find someone here to do it and call ya so you can watch." He handed his tool belt to Luke and waited for him to leave. Streak still had some more security measures to install that he'd gotten from Luke's business. "Well, thanks for all the help man, but I've still got some things so set up before were completely ready to go. And if I don't get started now I'll probably never get started. It was great talking with ya." Streak said to Luke.
He then headed back indoors to get the equipment that he needed to finish putting in the drop pits and other things that would make this place hard to break into and also hard to surprise anyone there. He'd make sure that everything worked before he called on anyone to test it out. Of course there was still a lot of work that needed to be done.
