Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

MRO is an intermediate to advanced writing level original character, original plot X-Men RPG. We've been open and active since October of 2005. You can play as a mutant, human, or Adapted— one of the rare humans who nullify mutant powers by their very existence. Goodies, baddies, and neutrals are all welcome.

Cold Reception for this Internet Video

A recent video posted to a popular internet video sharing site has many in the city talking. The video shows long-time friend of New York's finest, and a prominent leader of the X-men, Cold Steel, being viciously attacked. Sam Johnson, also known as 'Cold Steel', is presumed dead. The X-men have yet to comment on these claims.

The reception for this video has been frosty by many. Friends of the X-men (who aren't at liberty to speak for them) have decried it as 'horrid' or 'fake'. Ray William Johnson has also called the video a forgery. An anonymous woman we interviewed who used to date Mr. Steel had this to say about the video's authenticity: "If it's real, good." She declined to comment further on what exactly she meant.

It's unknown who posted the video. The account that posted it has no connections. The account's e-mail utilized an alias, and the account was created for the sole purpose of posting the video.

We here at the New York Inquisitor are hoping for information. A confirmation, a denial, something. We've contacted the police, but they haven't offered us anything more than the statement that they were investigating the video's origins. The video has since been flagged by the site for its content, but has yet to be taken down. Technically, the showing of violent content in videos on the site isn't against their terms of service. Until the claims have been investigated further, no actions will be taken.
