The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

This was it she had, had enough of the wasting the discomfort the time she had been in the mansion just wasting time and her patience and so she went to complain to the only person she knew to the man she had met when she arrived she had not spoken to him in a while. And now that she was good and angry it seemed to be perfect time to bug him. Weakness during the day extreme discomfort at night there was no reason she could not do that on the outside. Of coarse there was a chance she could hurt people but at that point why did it mater they where the one who would stare at her in the first place. Dragging her claw along the wall as she always did when she was upset she approached the offices. When she got to the door she seemed to begin to lose momentum tum heading there her fist where clenched her eyes where red but now she could not seem to muster up the courage to walk in. When she came here she had found some thing odd it was that she was unable to deal with silver. It was weirdly just like the stories but why she wondered. And it was likely that fact that put her on edge about talking to him once again. The whole silver aspect of him seemed to make her uneasy but why she wondered to herself silently. Taking her hand away from the wall she looked down hall and saw what she had done she was always so quick to do that. Even without knowing it this happened and it happened a lot these guys either did not care or they had deep pockets because things like this concerned no one."...It makes no sense to come here and then stop i have to walk in and at least see if he is in..." it was completely possible that she could go see some one else about her problem but she trusted no one else as of yet and therefore he would get the brunt of all her issues first. Before placing her hand on the knob she took a good look at herself she had to make sure she walked in looking at least half decent. Pulling her wifebeater down and her shorts up she tried to give her appearance some attention for the first time in a long time. After her clothes where situated she pulled her hair back creating a pony tail with one hand and using an elastic from the other to hold it in place. Confident that she was okay in the way she looked she grabbed the door knob. Taking a deep breath she though of all she would say for it felt that she had a lot she wanted to say.

ooc: Loup you gotta add a signature PM me if you dont know how.
IC: It wasn't Streak who was in the office today. Though Streak, Steel, and Raina were all greeters and recruiters... Raina was the guidence councellor and today she had had a few appointments. Though that wasn't to say Streak or Steel might not show up.
She was sitting at her desk going over a program plan on her laptop. She was dressed pretty average with a pair of blue jeans and a green top. Her short red hair glistened under the florescent light. She had just stopped typing and gazed out the window wondering when winter would end when the door flew open and a young desgruntled female mutant stood in it's frame. Raina blinked. She didn't think she had any other scheduled appointments. Could she have forgotten? She glanced down at her agenda. Nope. This was spontanious.
"Hello." she said looking the young woman over. "I'm Raina, I'm the guidence councellor." Raina was 23 years old and looked a bit younger until she put on her profesional face. Raina had a lot of training and education- it was one of the reasons she landed the job at the mansion. "I don't believe we've met yet... which is obviously my loss for being so busy. But please, come in and sit down." she motioned to the comfy chair adjacent to the desk. "You look upset. Can I get you some tea?"
the girl did indeed look upset. Part of her wondered is Sam had hit on the poor thing or something. She tried to hide her sarcastic smile at the thought.
Not happy to deal with any body at the mansion Loup strolled into the room her shoulders rolled up and her head sunken low. With a Stern look in her eye she looked around to see that the Silver man was gone and in his place was a red head she had never met before. Not ready to let all this built up fury go to waste Mir stomped over to the chair the woman had pointed to. Seeing how it would make her fell better to break some thing she quickly place her left hand on the chair before lifting it off the ground. With the lightest of tosses she sent it flying to the wall. Pointing a claw to the woman she prepared her self to ask one very simple question. She was going to see the silver man but she was almost a bit pleased thats she would not have to deal with him. There were just to many things about him she found she did not like and she barely knew him.
Growling before she spoke she made her intentions known she was tired of her curse running her life and so blowing off steam by yelling at some one besides her pillow helped."Where is the SilerMan this is his office right...why is he not here...he is suppose to be here," she said almost snorting in between words. Like and any anxious Animal she pace a bit in front of the woman's desk. She had to think for a moment the silver man knew all about the way her power worked he had to deal with them first hand. Could she really blow up at some one who had no idea why she was in there in the first place? Sadly that answer was yes there was just to many days of absolutely hellish pain, to many days of hanging in the danger room over night. In the end if it was not the silver man it would be her to have to deal with Miracle's problems.

ooc: uggh I made such a good post and my account decided to log out when I pressed post reply. Darnit!
ic:
Raina stood unmoving without the slightest hint of fear in her face. She managed a blink. She wasn't going to pay this tempertantrum any attention... afterall if she thought the girl was a real threat she could freeze her in place instantly. It was funny... because the girl reminded her of a certain wolf girl she already knew. If Raina had known the young woman's ability she'd have relized how spot on she was. Maybe it was a canine thing.
"The silver man, the ice man, and I all share this office." she said resorting to what the young woman had called them doubting she'd remember any names. "They both work as greeters and recruiters for the school but like I said, I'm the gudience councellor... if you're angry about something I'm the main person to talk to about it here. " she turned to grab the two mugs and pour hot water over the tea bags. She turned again and placed one across from the young woman and one for herself and then sat down stirring them and letting them steep. "Since you didn't want a seat..." she started a little agrivated that the young woman had ignored all of her questions. "I'll have to ask you to stop destroying mansion property. If you feel the urge to break something we can set up a danger room session for you... but for now you're stuck telling me your problem." she motioned once more for the young woman to sit.
She wasn't getting out of this. Raina was the person to talk to and she wasn't about to let a loose cannon walk out of her office. "If you think you're the first person to walk in here because of their power..." she was making a bit of a leap of faith here... though afterall most mutants were desgruntled because they were mutants. "you'd be wrong. This entire school is devoted to people messed up over having powers. So why don't you sit down, tell me your name, and tell me the problem."
Her eyes stared into the young woman. Raina may be a happy-go-lucky lady most of them... but she was a forced to be reconked with
The reds calmness was a bit strange but Mir had built up to much aggravation to just simply sit and talk out her problems. It had been basically ignored the last time she mentioned just how horrible her curse was. Huffing and puffing a bit Mir listened intently she wanted to hear just what the red was going to say to her. She explained how she and the Sam where there to help her as well as the silver man. Though she offered her services Miracle greatly doubted the help this one could give on her own. Standing up straight now Mir cracked her neck twice once on each side as she always did when she began to get annoyed. Seeing hos she smashed the chair there was not to much a point in calming down now she had already started why force herself to stop now. The smell of teabags setting hot water bothered her only because it was there and for no other reason.
Having an almost out of body experience Mir saw herself lift her fist above the tea mug Before unballing it and wrapping her fingers around it. As the woman went on she seemed to sound less concerned about what was bugging Mir and more about shipping her off as the next mutant with troubles. The danger room was where she spent most of her nights so the very utterance of this place cause her to squeeze the cup tighter and tighter. Cracking the cup she listened to the woman continue and keep telling her that she was not the only one to have problems. The only problem was that she had come into the Mansion expecting to get some sort of release from the pain of her constant shifting cycle. Seeing how she had been there a while but nothing has been done yet, her trust in her hosts was beginning to fade a bit."You don't hear my problem at night? You can't see it... at night when this place falls silent. Well allow me to explain I am cursed with a rather extreme case of Lyncanthropy" she growled as the mug exploded in her vice like grip. Though this one had very little to do with any of her problems she was there and she asked what was wrong and so she would get all that was wrong at that point in time.

It was obvious to Raina that everything she was saying was falling on deaf ears. She knew the young woman- who still hadn't told her name- was uncomfortable and upset about her mutation. As far as Raina was concerned every mutant had a right to be upset. They were different. But Raina had no time for mutants who came to the mansion looking for help but insistent on doing things their own way. The mansion wasn't about being headstrong and thinking you knew best. The mansion was about asking the people who knew best for help and guidance, being open to help, and understanding change doesn't happen over night.
"So you're a Lycan at night. I bet that's troublesome. Reminds me of a few mutant friends I've made here. You haven't met Ted he's been away for awhile... but anytime he gets angry he turns into what we'd call a werewolf." she thought moment. "And of course, there's the Lupine sister. All three of them turn into different canines." she paused paying no attention to the cracking mug. "Of course, your change only happens at night. You could be like my friend Sara- stuck in the body of an animal for the rest of her life. You can hide yourself away at night if you so choose. Sara doesn't have that luxury."
She wasn't going to let this mutant get all self pitiful- that was going to lead anywhere. "I don't know what you think happens here..." she started standing up. "But we're not going to 'cure' you. Try turning into a stinky smelly half fish every time you get wet who can't breathe the air." she was talking of course about herself. "I understand more than most people you're going to meet here what it's like to have a curse." Raina knew more than anyone that there was no such thing as a cure. She wore the scars all over her body that reminded her everyday. "We're here to help you control the transformations. That's not going to happen in one night. it's also not going to happen if you're not in control of your anger." she looked down at the young woman as seriously as she could muster. "Mutations are often tied strongly to our emotions. If you want to get your ability in check... you need to get your anger in check. Other wise I can't see how there would be a place for you here. This isn't a school for temper tantrums. It's not a clinic that's going to fix you either." She thought for a moment about Victoria. "I know a girl who literally falls to pieces when she gets upset. Before she can control how her body dissembled and re-assembles she's learning to control her emotions."
She hoped that would be a good example for the young woman of just how many people have similar troubles. Maybe once she calmed down Raina could introduce her to some of the girls. "For now, why don't you tell me in detail what happens when you transform? What do you remember right before? What happens right after?" she pulled out a pad of paper and a pen looking intently at the young woman. "And are you going to tell me your name?"
Hearing of others with similar problems did not have an extremely positive effect they had been here and they were no where to be found . This made Mir worry a bit if other shifters had come through here and then left she wondered why she was there...was it just a stop on her trip to ceasing this pain. Dropping the mug Mir felt her self return a bit to the control of her actions and emotions."Its not just at night its a Moon obsession I know what phase it's in no matter what day it is what hour it is...First minute of the day of the day I look out of the first window I find and I know what phase the moon is in." It was slightly harder to talk about herself when she was not yelling. Speaking around the ever growing lump in her throat Mir spoke of her problem in more detail then she preferred to. " Ever wake up with a gun shot wound and the crushed skull of the man you had killed just a few hours ago?"Turning around as she spoke she hid her face from view for the duration of her question. stepping back she took a seat on the woman's desk next to the slightly spilled tea she had dropped a few seconds ago.
Though she was speaking and asking questions she did not want an answer or reaction to any thing she had said she wanted to say all she had to say before there was any sort of comment made. Pushing her arms back she bent her back back a bit and relaxed a bit more before she continued to the next thought."Every thing seems to trigger my very painful slides into the beast...The moon is the most powerful trigger and I can't control or fight those slides but happy gains me a wagging tail, angry grants me claws, and just about any strong stresses." she said as she looked around the office trying to seem more relaxed but as she spoke she knew every thing she spoke of was painful."And another thing I doubt most of the others that have been here have the nice little issue of watching their ribs shift while paralyzed in pain...I hate to say it but Miracle here has a few issues" she screamed louder and louder as she went on, her voice cracked several times as she force out every that was on her mind.
Dragging her claws away from her host and toward her she pushed her self off the desk before she turned round. She had explained enough now it was time to see what the woman had in mind. She had, had so much to say but it seemed she did not really have the solution she was looking for. It felt like she was going to just be made to deal with it. She had been trying to learn to deal with her problem for about a year now so she doubted any more time would help her get over the loss of self and the pain.

Raina listened intently and made a few notes as 'Miracle' explained her power. It was obviously distressing ad distracting. And Raina would bet her bottom dollar it was grounded in her emotions. "A lot of mutants who come here have violent pasts." she commented after Miracle had finished and she'd waited a moment in silence. "It's hard isn't it? Hard to escape when you know you've hurt other people." she nodded as Miracle stood up. "We work as a team here at the mansion. One person- like Streak, isn't going to be able to help you deal with all the issues you're having... but we all take what we're good with. If you'll let me, I'd like to give you someone to talk to about all of this. That would be me. A place to vent where you wont be judged. And I'd like to help you work on your emotions. I think Streak and Cold Steel would be perfect people to help you work on the physical aspect of things in the danger room and getting your power physically under control. And if you're willing to meet a few others... I'd really like to introduce you to some of our other shifters." She was glad Miracle had calmed down but it was clear the young woman could pop at any moment.
"We can't all understand your power Miracle- no more than you can understand mine. But we do all know what it's like to be a mutant. We do all know what it's like to be in pain. And we do all know what it's like to have hurt people whether we admit it or not." she reached across the table and unflinching she put her soft white hand on Miracle's clawed one. She left it there only a moment and drew it back.
"So, I'm thinking for now it might be good for you to come see me a few times a week. We can talk about the transformations and how they make you feel. We can talk about some things in your past. And I'd like to work on some techniques to help you with your emotional triggers. I can imagine how getting happy and growing a wagging tail would be quite embarrassing at parties and around boys." she giggled a bit.
Words filled with calming resonance and soothing tone seemed to just flow from her lips. She knew how to do her job well it seemed. There was one thing that lingered on Miracles mind As the red head spoke, and that was if this woman was really this empathetic or if it was because it was part of her job. Not wanting to appear to vulnerable in front of some one she did not know all that well caused Miracle to him all smiles smirks or faces that would imply she was no longer angry. She was going along nodding her head as the Greeter mentioned points that were all pretty valid and relevant to her situation. This nodding and agreeing was until she talked about Miracles power...did she honestly call what was afflicting her was a power. She and her Family considered it a curse since it showed up in their lineage. Though the story had only told of the curse showing up in males it seemed that Miracle was the exception to the trend."I don't think a psychiatrist will be the solution to my problem but if you want try it you are more then encouraged to get right into it," she said with a grin that revealed her slightly sharper than average canines, she had hated the school consular who tried not so long ago to get Mir to talk about why she was so angry. There had been three who tried to help her in the past they failed so she was not so thrilled to get three more who wanted to make her deal with her slides rather then eliminate them all together.
"You know I talked a lot about my self and well...I don't like talking about my self with out know whom I am conversing with," she said as she looked around the office once more if she was going to be round here more often it would be good to get a feel for the place. She wanted to know more about the woman whom she was telling her inner most secrets to. She had seemed so helpful but there had to be a reason behind it what was her power. If she was a shifter then maybe she had a few things in common with her, but if she was not there was not much she thought she could do."Well if you think all of this consoling will help then I will go through it but honestly if this does not work I can even tell how mad I am going to be." she said with a slightly annoyed tone. It could be debated whether she was joking or not and if she wasn't that could be bad. If there was help to stop the slides she was going to take it even if it did not stop the full moon slides hopefully it would stop the day time abnormal things that afflicted her, and in the end that was all she wanted.

Raina grinned seeing Miracle calm down. She seemed to be sincerely thinking things through- that was a good sign. "You're on." she said. "Talking to me isn't going to fix the problems you're having... but it'll give you a support network. It'll help you with specific issues. Just talking to me isn't going to stop your transformations... but I do think it'll help." She was relieved that for the moment Miracle was attentive. She knew what is was like to be in her shoes, more than she actually realized at the time. She and Miracle had an awful lot in common.
When Miracle said, ""You know I talked a lot about my self and well...I don't like talking about my self with out know whom I am conversing with," Raina smiled.
"That's fair enough. Well... I'll tell you a bit about me then." she said.
"My name is Raina. I came to the mansion after my powers scared my family. I'm a first nations person which means I'm an Arctic indian if you wanna put it that way" she laughed "We call ourselves Inuit. Though most Inuit peoples are just as modern as anyone else I came from a tribe that had detached itself from the main group... they really wanted to keep our old ways ... anyway..." she knew she was starting to ramble. "There are legends in my tribe about people who could control the elements. So you'd think one day when I opened my mouth to sing and ice came out that my tribe wouldn't be so surprised! But nobody knew much about mutation and they were scared thinking I was some tyrant reborn again or something. They cast me out because they were afraid I might hurt someone or myself. I know it sounds awful... but people do awful things out of fear."
She stood back and decided to give Mir a little demonstration of her powers. She let out a high sung note and a little ball of ice lept from her tea. Naturally it was brown from the tea but it shifted as Raina sang to it into a little brown ice dog that ran around the air in front of Mir. She continued singing until the ice dog was hovering back over her cup and then she stopped the note. The ice dog turned back into tea mid air and fell into the cup. "Kinda neat eh? Too bad it didn't stay that way. " she began
"I came to the mansion after traveling the world for a while, I wasn't sure what I was looking for coming here. I guess I just wanted to meet some other people like me. But instead just after I got here the registration act was put into place. I got slammed into a camp like all the other mutants and since my mutation was based on my voice they put an electric collar on me so I couldn't speak. Of course... I still tried." she pulled her collar of her shirt down to show Mir the circle that ran around her throat burned in from the man times she tried to speak through the electricity.
"The funny thing about mutation is that most people don't have just one. They have secondary powers. Here I was from the stress of the camps all the while unknowing that my secondary power was developing. It sure was an awful day when I got splashed with water and grew a fish tail and gills. I couldn't breathe and it hurt like hell... plus I kinda smell bad." she laughed.
"So of course you know the registration act was lifted and I was permitted to come back here. But as a Canadian my travel visa expired so the assistant head mistress gave me the job as a councilor and music teacher because of my educational background so I could stay in America and at the school. But now whenever I get wet... even from crying... it's fish tail city. I need to get myself to water fast or get dried off fast because I get gills and can't breathe. It's rather embarrassing - you should have seen some of the stuff that happened when I went on dates!"
She laughed thinking of Luke. Of course, she hadn't told Mir everything. Not about Rupert. Not about being shot. Not about the miscarriage.
"I wanted to be like everyone else though. I felt like my mutation was a curse. So I let myself be fooled by a doctor who said he could 'cure' me. He just wanted me for his own scientific gain. I fear I've made a mortal enemy out of him." she thought back to the events in Paris.
"it's not easy being a mutant. That's something I know. But you find things to help you, people you care about, and reasons to stick around. It's not always easy to be a mutant... but it's worthwhile." her eyes glazed over for a moment as she reflected.
"Anyway, why don't you tell me a bit more about yourself Mir? I'm sure there's more to you than a tail that pops out when you get happy." she grinned.
Seeing how she was going to be coming to talk to this woman more often hearing her story was good. IT had some similarities to her own but it was the red heads struggle and you can not compare some one else's struggle to your own. It was nice to meet another native but this one was a bit more out of the way then her. She had come a long way to get here while Mir had been in the general area. Like Red she had also been cast out of her home to life with her father because of her curse. Her story then suddenly ended with a high note which cause Miracle ear to twitch a bit. Ten with no warning the tea in the cup before her took on a life of its own and began to dance like she had never seen before. It had the shape of a dog but was made of ice and it floated through the air. Amazed Mir eyes wide open gazed as it returned to its cup and place of rest.
It was clear from that display Mir got her power from the bottom of the barrel of fun. There were so many better powers out there and she ended up with an uncontrollable curse. Instead of focusing on her lack of good features she shifted her attention back to the red head to hear the rest of the story she had to tell. The registration act had very little effect on Mir's life sadly because she had not even know she was a mutant then. The burn on her neck show just how many time she spoke through the pain. Life was just not fair all around and some people just get the short end of the stick.
The topic of secondary powers was one she could relate to. She had learned not to long ago that there was very little that could honestly keep her from healing up really quick. It was her power she had mentioned earlier she was the one that got all fishy like in her brief description. Nodding along as she spoke Mir was taken back to some of her past experiences as a mutant. The woman had quite a history to her she looked rather young but her road was long and full of forks it was amazing to see how she ended up here when another choice could have lead her any where.
"I can't say I have ever truly wanted to be like every one else...To be honest I have never been like any one else. I have been the best athlete in my age group for as long as I could remember. From early in my childhood I like most of my relatives were mutants but the craziest thing was we had no idea we were. This was until one every few generations one of us would inherit the curse. There have been other Werewolves in my family but often they are male I am like the second unlucky female, "She putting her hand to her chin her, some times it was hard to pick up her own memories through the holes created from the slides." Being decedents of Moshup means most my particular family are rather tall and strong...But sadly there is some other tribal curse mix into my lineage because some one slept with the wrong person or some thing. Their curse leads to me and my gigantic Wolf transformations. So yes there is more then a tail to my curse," she said with a slightly sarcastic smile.
"Let me see most of what I know comes from what I was told about my self during the transformations. First for the sake of all around here I don't think people are on the menu....but hen again I'm not super sure" she said leaving a bit of a pause at the end."Alright now that that matter is out of the way...I think that for the few nights when the moon is nearing full is when I'm am at my worst. Only because those days i have very little recollection of what happens even when the sun is out. Alright beside that I have found that i have one more power and it is one that has helped a lot. I Can heal from most injuries relatively quickly...except those inflicted with silver which is weird because if you cut me with it right now i would be fine but the second I get a little furry it would not only hurt like hell but it would also not heal for a while," She said taking her hand away from her chin she had said just about all she knew about her powers so far.

ooc: Sorry for the delay Loup! I've been sick, busy, injured, and well basically tied up! PM me if you have anything else you want to get out of these threads so I can include them!
ic: Raina listened again as Mir interacted with her. She spoke to Raina about how she never really wanted to be like someone else and Raina replied, "you're lucky then Mir. And a stronger person than I am for not looking at others with want." she went quiet again as the woman continued talking.
"You're lucky to at least know some of your family heritage. That's important and can be an important tool for us assessing you. Especially when you know a lot. And you clearly know your physical state well. That's a hard confrontation for many with visible mutations. So I'm proud of you. "
She paused "I think I know everything I need to know. I'd like to see you again. And please, if something bad happens or you feel like you're stuck I'd like to be the first to know. We've got a little while before the next full moon so I think we have enough time to work on a few things and perhaps take a few precuations to make you feel safer during your next transformation. I can't promise I'll be able to do much for what you physically go through during your next transformation but if I'm able to safely observe you I think I'll be able to offer some insight for the next time. Like I said... this isn't going to happen in just one cycle. But I'd like to help... if you'll let me" she grinned
ooc: Maybe we can do another thread later with Mir going through a transformation!
Nodding Mir felt rather relaxed but the lingering thought of what would happen next still held sway in her mind. With her mood improved she could process what her next step would be clearly. Sadly she was not filled with the emotion she though she would get from this little talk she wanted a definite answer some thing that could end her doubts. It was unlikely she would receive the answers she wanted but she did get some thing far more frightening then any one of her fears she had walked in with. She was given a taste of some thing that bitter a medacine often hard to swallow. Hope that was the gift handed to her this time. With this single valued object in her posseson she could go on and maybe achieve control."My family history is not some thing I that has helped me much but I'll keep that in mind," she said her wit and sarcastic personality finally shining through. When she was her she could throw wit around like no other
"We will see about those I think if some thing happens the first person to know will who ever is closest but hey I will definitely come to you when I feel I have a problem you can solve," she said before she started to play with her nail. There was a hint of dirt under it and she could not get it from under there." How I feel during the slides is what I hold important. I hate the feel of it i hate what it does to my clothes I hate what I become...I don't like the pain if you can figure out some thing that would cut out those factors then I will be impressed with you guess," she said looking up from her nail. she really wanted to stop the slides if she could do that then she could lead a mostly normal life."I will give you a shot but I warn you you are not the first who has tried to help and so I will be skeptical of what you can do till i see real progress. Sorry to say but people have jaded me a bit," she said grinning right back at her host she did not was to have to find a new place to search for another person who could help and so she hoped that this was her last stop.
