The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Deathstar walked through the crowd with her hand over face as if she was slightly embarrassed of her appearance. She dodged the party guest and reporters and jets off into the limo with the others. Once in the limo she rest her head on the headrest releasing a long awaited exhale "This is the last time I'm doing a mission in a dress" she said to the others, "So did we get what we came for Raina?" she asked while kicking off her high heels in car.

ooc: Sorry for the delay lovelies, please forgive me!
ic: Raina was sitting in the limo scanning the USB drive on a laptop selfishly thinking to herself about just how much she'd like to go to a ball like this with Luke when one after the other DS and Luke joined her in the vehicle. "You got away alright? Good, Im glad." She turned her attention back to the files that were downloading while she flipped through them at record speed.
"So many things here are labeled about the fair treatment for mutants and human alike..." she groaned. "I'm not seeing anything that would be suspicious yet." she clicked about for a few moments. Then her eyes went wide. Really wide. "Oh my God." she scanned the screen several times to be sure she was seeing this right. "There's a lot here..." she said knowing DS could read right over her shoulder but Luke wasn't going to be able to start reading computer screens anytime soon.
"They've been siphoning out funds.. but where to and why... what are you hiding from us?" before she'd even retrieved her answer her mind was already ripe with the possibilities and wonder what exactly this "Charity Ball" was funding. She could feel her brow sweat a little. "It looks like all the funds that were taken are being re-routed to something called "Black Ops Team" I'm going to see what I can dig up on that..."
She started thinking back to the Resistance during the Registration Act, to the Sanctuary, to the Kabal... all these people that had their own ideas about how humans and mutants could live together. This was scary.
"Oh man... this isn't just something they developed Luke..." she said for his benefit since DS could read. "this group that they've got has already gone on missions. From these credit card statements it looks like as far as Afghanistan and South America. And they aren't going on peace treaty missions..."
She pulled up a jpg file for Death Star to see. It was a series of images of prevalent military and political leaders - some who were known for less than heroic deeds. Many were associated with Genocide and torture of both mutants and humans... Raina even recognized some main pencil pushers from the registration act. She quickly narrated to Luke what she saw.
"Some of them are X-ed out..." she explained. "In red. There's a word document with the same name as the file I'm going to open it up..." there was silence for a moment as Raina read. "The Black Ops group has been taking these people out. The one's Xed are the ones dead. This word document details how they covered each one up and is keeping track so they don't kill too many at once or in the same way. They don't want to be associated..."
She stared into the limo for a moment. These were awful people. Really bad people. A second glance showed her Dr. Che was on this list though she wasn't about to point that out to Luke. At least right now. Didn't these people sort of deserve to die for what they did? If there were any justice in the world wouldn't they get the death penalty? Suddenly she regretted being with DS and Luke while discovering this information. Now she'd have to be accountable. "it's got a list of their known locations- for the living ones." she said breaking the silence. "What should we do?"

(OOC: Very nicely handled Raina. Good post. )
IC: As Raina slowly unfolded the story by opening computer files and reading them out loud, Luke sat quietly just listening. They had known that there as something strange going on with this organization, otherwise they wouldn't have been sent to collected information, but they hadn't known exactly what was going on.
"Black ops team..."
Governments were supposed to have secret teams of military personnel to handle top secret situations but who in the world had ever heard of a charitable organization having such a team? What could even be their purpose for wanting such a thing? The very idea of a black ops team meant that for some reason this organization had decided to take some sort of situation into their owns hands instead of waiting for the government and policy makers to try and change things.
"Assassins..."
The pieces were beginning to fall together. An organization dedicated to the humane treatment of all people had to eventually get fed up with what they saw around the world. For years they had campaigned for something to be done to help the helpless victims and though some small advancements may have been made the over all outlook for the world remained relatively unchanged. Certain countries that had been known for their persecution of both humans and mutants were still committing the same atrocities that had been going on for years.
"What should we do?"
The words seemed to just hang in the air as Luke tried to wrestle with what decision would be the right one. On one hand the organization was only taking out people that were perhaps some of the basest humans and mutants that existed on the planet. They were men and women that seemed to take actual enjoyment from inflicting pain and persecution on the helpless. On the other hand, the organization was committing murder plain and simple. Even though these people may have been some of the worst on the planet they still deserved the chance to face a judge and jury.
"Is it really our call to make or do we need to discuss it with the other X-Men first?" Luke asked quietly after a few moments of thought, "If its our call then I think we have to deliver the information to the Justice Department. No matter how much we may want to applaud them for their actions, they're still breaking the law. Are they doing it for the greater good? Maybe, but I can't really say for sure. To put it bluntly, this is out of our league and we need to hand it off to someone else."
(ooc: I sincerely apologize for the late post, school is taking all of my time sorry)
IC:
Deathstar tilted her head slightly in the direction of Raina's computer, She didn't quite grasp the massacre of what unfolded in front of her eyes. Deathstar followed the words as Raina read out loud for Luke's sake, poor guy not being able to see the world around him, maybe that's a good thing, with the world today so violent and full of hate I think its best for good guy like him to not be corrupted by his environment like myself. Deathstar lost her place in reading as thoughts ran through her mind, She gives up and decides to listen.
"Oh man... this isn't just something they developed Luke..." she said for his benefit since DS could read. "this group that they've got has already gone on missions. From these credit card statements it looks like as far as Afghanistan and South America. And they aren't going on peace treaty missions..."
"What the hell? wait a minute!!...you mean to tell me there are assassins taking people out and the government doesn't know anything about this, I'd say why bother, those bastards deserve every bit of hell thats coming to them, but then again they do deserve to go in front of a judge, and I want to see their faces when they get trialed and punished", Deathstar never got over the camps, she still had ill feelings toward anyone that had involvement with the registration act.
"What should we do?"[/b]
"I'd say we talk it over with the other X-men, this seems to be too big of a mission for us to take on alone, whatever we decide to do, we don't want to bring too much attention to this matter", Deathstar put her fist to her chin thinking of a quick solution, but no thoughts is storming up for the moment.

Raina hesitated sitting feeling really torn. She was embarrassed for feeling that way. A year ago she wouldn't have argued about this sort of thing in favour of peace when it came to the camps. Had she really been jaded so much since then?
"I guess you're right..." she said to both of them. "We will take it back to the xmen. See what everyone thinks, But we have to be careful with this information. If the Sanctuary or the Kabal get ahold of it we're in trouble." she nodded curtly to the others as she brought the privacy window down and instructed the driver where to go.
