The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

We go left when the doors open." Luke murmured quietly, "There's what appears to be an office, first door on the right. If that doors locked there are bathrooms right across the hall that we can duck into temporarily."
Deathstar felt a bit anxious when Luke used his powers to scan the hall, shivering with nerves, she made way quietly to the left as the elevator doors opened. Deathstar's stride seemed a little paranoid, she was constantly looking over her shoulders as if a she was trying to escape from a prison, "your powers is going to take a lot to get used to Luke" she whispered.
The office was now a few steps away, she took a last look at her surroundings before her nerves made her jet off to the office door feeling a sigh of relief, "Damn!, it's locked, don't worry this is an acquired skill of mine" she said turned the nob the first time. Deathstar curly pinned up hair fell on her shoulders as she pulled a hairpin from her locks, "cover me!" she said as she attempts to break into the door. The first attempt failed, and the office door was not budging at all "Uh!, this is not as easy as I thought, it might take a few minutes" she said as she looked at the others, moments later with a couple of failed attempts Deathstar finally opens the door, "Voila!", but Deathstar private celebration ended as footsteps echoed from the far end of the hall.

Raina stood nervously feeling her heart beat in chest as the elevator doors opened. What Luck- they were clear like Luke said! They made a mad dash for the closest door- which was locked. Her blood froze in it's veins and her mind started evacutaion mode but Deathstar pulled her hair down and produced a pin. She started picking the lock. Raina could feel sweat on her brow as the seconds seem to tick on. Her eyes were large and wide as she scanned the area- even though she knew Luke would be the first one to know if someone was approaching.
Deathstar's first few attempts failed and Raina's brain was in full panic mode by the time she got the door open. She gave the girl a shove- not to be rude but to get them out of sight- shoving deathstar with one arm and yanking Luke with the other in a move that would be comedic in any other setting Raina manouvered the group inside the room and shut the door silently just as foot steps and quite chatting was heard.
She leaned against the closed door on the inside of the office room trying to be quiet though panting a little. Her body relaxed a bit and her eyes searched her partners while she waited for the footsteps to echo in the other direction. When all was quiet she dared to speak. "That was too close. Any ideas for getting past them? The office we need is at the end of this hall."
Raina wasn't used to being a group leader... and she felt suddenly all too under qualified for the job. She needed some input.

As Deathstar picked the lock, Luke stood waiting, his cloudy eyes staring forward unbelievingly even as his sonar continued to sweep the hallway. Hadn't he said there was a bathroom right on the other side of the hall that they could hide in? Hadn't he said there were guards coming? What in the world was she doing?!
Right when Luke was about to grab a hold of both woman and pull them toward the door that was always unlocked there was the click of tumblers moving back into the correct places. Before he could react Raian had grabbed his sleeve and half pulled half dragged him inside before closing the door before the guards could see that anything was going on.
Breathing his own silent sigh of relief Luke leaned up against the locked door, takign a deep breath to calm his racing heart. They were on the right floor but they still had to get to the end of the hall. Great... just great.
"If we need to I can get caught." Luke offered somewhat grimly, "At least if no other ideas look viable. I'm the blind playboy so they wouldn't be surprised to find me wandering around somewhere. I'd rather not have to do that but I will if necessary."
As he spoke, Luke's mind was racing, trying to come up with a plan that would work. "As for getting to the end of the hall... we either make a spring as far as we can as soon as this guard clears the way or we just take it one door at a time. Patience is a virtue after all."
Deathstar felt a Blondie moment come on when she realized she unlocked the wrong door, all that for nothing....she thought to herself as leaned against the door.
"If we need to I can get caught."[/b]
"NO!" she out loud quickly putting her palm over her mouth breathing deeply as if she was in trouble, She turns her ear against the door so she can hear if any guard was alarmed by her outburst. "No Luke, we are only sacrificing ourselves as a last result" , she repeated this time in a faint whisper.
Deathstar felt she was overstepping her boundary as a team member, she didn't want to offend Raina in any way, shape or form. "Raina you are the leader, and I apologize if I may undermined you" Deathstar felt a little down after apologizing, she was never a I'm sorry type of girl, she rarely apologizes when she's dead wrong. "Whatever you want to do next, I'm all for it", there you go girl, that wasn't so bad was it?, Deathstar paid close attention to what Raina had plan next.

"No worries DS." said Raina with a half grin. "I'm not exactly used to this either. We're all flying by the seat of our pants here!" she stood silently for a moment. "We may need to take out the gaurds. But we don't want them hurt... and we don't want them to draw attention downstairs." she thought carefully. "The bathroom is across from us right?" she thought carefully. "a leak might catch their attention enough for us to get to the room down the hall... and if them see us after we get down there I can always freeze their feet til we leave... but hopefully they wont see us."
she thought it over and weighed the options in her mind. "Alright." she listened outside the door and hear nothing so she dropped to her knees by the bottom and sang a shrill quiet note under the door in the direction of the bathroom. She visualized what she wanted to happen- hoping her aim was true.
Inside the bathroom one of the pipes in the first sink began to freeze. The pipes rapidly expanded and it wasn't long before they heard a pop and the spray of water. They couldn't see it but water started spraying everywhere in the bathroom in a frenzy and started to leak out into the floor. She mentally thanked herself for purchasing water-proof mission shoes.
She heard the security guards swearing and muttering, then yelling to each other over the noise of the water once inside the bathroom. "now!" exclaimed Raina pulling the door open. The two men were nowhere to be seen - she was right they were occupied in the bathroom. Raina moved her hands in the direction of the last office. It was time to get a move on.

It seemed that Deathstar had a very strong aversion to sacrificing a team mate in order to accomplish a mission. That was good information to have and it made her a great team mate in some situation but Luke would have to remember this. If they were ever sent on an extremely dangerous mission then DS might not be the best team mate to have around. Sometimes the mission was more important than the individual and that was something everyone had to consider.
Standing silently by the door Luke waited until Raina gave the OK and then he opened the door and took off down the hall along with the two ladies. Cranking up the power of his sonar, he swept the hallway in front of them making sure that there weren't any more guards heading their way. Off in the distance he could see a couple of guards but there was plenty of time.
"You're up DS." Luke murmured quietly as he crouched near the door, continueing to scan the area, "As long as the guards don't come out of the bathroom you've got about 60 to 75 seconds."
"Wish me luck", Deathstar said under her breathe, she jammed her into the key-hole as if she stabbing her Nemesis. "Just..a...little..longer" she said desperately trying to unlock the door before the guards notice the three spies, she panic a little as the little bit of time they had flew by, sweat dripping down from her forehead indicated she wasn't focus due to Luke's sonar ability, "Damn it!, it won't open" she said breathing heavily while yanking and twisting the office door knob.
The pressure mixed with anxiety was a deadly combination for the narrow mind of Deathstar, quickly brushing the hair from her face with hand, she refocused and attempted to break into again while steadily looking toward the guards who was busy dealing with the water break. OK, calm down , you can do this she said mentally prepping herself to deal with what seem to be an impossible mission. Deathstar jammed the hairpin in the keyhole again this time blocking all pressure, OK, turn your hand this way.....no, no, no, I gotta pull back a little, I can do it, I can do it, mentally coaching herself she rejoiced quietly as she finally unlocks the door "yes, I maybe a little rusty but all I needed was time".
Deathstar instantly notice the guards getting the water contain , "hurry! get in" she forcefully pulls Luke and Raina inside the office closing the door behind. "So now what?'"

Raina felt that overwhelming sense of panic envelope her like earlier when DS had trouble with the door. Her mind was racing with back up plans when it finally gave a click and they all rushed in. She took a moment to calm herself. They had a few minutes at most. "We need files from that computer." she said pointing to the only computer in the room. "I'm not sure what they'll be called so we may be copying a few. I might need a destraction from you two if the guards get wise... but so long as we make no noise they have no reason to check in here. They're busy with the water."
She pulled white gloves out of her utility belt and pulled them on her graceful fingers. She pulled out a USB stick that would help her crack the comp's password and ensure there was no trace of themselves on the computer left when they leave. She sat in an oversized office chair and began to work plugging the usb in the port and watching the screen scroll through numbers and letters like the matrix until it beeped an alert that it cracked the password. "I'm in."
Now it was time for business. She leaned haunched over the table looking into the computer screen moving as quickly as she could. There were hundreads and hundreads of files. She had no idea what the one they'd be looking for would be labelled so she did a search for anything with specific keywords like "mutant" "plan" "project" that sort of thing. She copied all her results onto the USB and prayed to God that the one they were looking for was on it. "It'll be one of these." she said trying to assure herself. "But we don't have time to check them here. We have to get out... there's a laptop in the limo. We'll check them there." she clicked the computer off and tucked the USB into her belt. She gave the gloves a snap. "Ready?"

While Raina and Deathstar took care of finding files on the computer, Luke stood sentry by the door, his sonar focused only on the hallway outside. There was no way he wanted to be causing any nervousness on this delicate part of the mission and his ability came in most handy for spotting trouble before anyone else realized it was heading their way.
"They have the water turned off." Luke spoke quietly as his sensitive hearing noticed that the sound of rushing water could no longer be heard, "And a guard is waiting by the bathroom while the rest go back to patrol."
Squinting his eyes closed the blind man's sonar increased its powers as he focused on the situation just outside the office. "Three minutes and all the guards will be clear except for the one stationed by the bathroom. If we can work up another distraction we can get back to the elevator." He was the epitomy of calm as he spoke and tried to think of the best option to get them back to the elevator. People had seen them enter the party so it would be far better if people also saw them exit but if necessary they could get out a different way. "Or we've got the option of heading one door down the other way in the hall. It's the roof access. I've got climbing wire so we can always slip down the back of the building if necessary."
"I guess I'll distract them, I will tell you when the hall is clear so you guys can get away" Deathstar said responding to Luke's idea, she slowly opened the office door stepping into the hallway one foot at a time. "OK!, here I go, I'm out in the hallway, remember to quickly leave and head toward the elevator when I say go" she spoke into the electronic ear piece that picks up sound waves when she speaks. Deathstar notice the guards arguing with each other about the water break, she quickly ruffles her hair and tweaks her dress so she can resemble an intoxicated party goer, "HEY! do any of you handsome guys know where the......" she fakes a fall to the ground followed by laughter that was so loud that everyone on the floor can hear her.
The guards quickly rushes to her aid obviously confused how this woman got here, "hey, you don't belong up here, you do not have access to this floor, how did you get up here?" the guards asked a series a questions to Deathstar as they helped her to her feet. "I don't know, I just go where the party takes me, woo! hoo!" Deathstar surprised herself on how good she was at acting. "I'll take her back downstairs immediately sir" the lesser guard spoke to his superior, "Don't let this happen again or else", the superior guard said, trusting his comrade he speeds away checking the other floors for any sign of intruders. "So....what's your name handsome?" Deathstar asked with slurred words, she had one arm around the youthful guard stumbling as he helps her toward the elevator door, "I....I...I can't tell you that in-formation" he responded with a slight speech impediment. "Good!, I don't like the names of my victims, the guard sharply turns his neck facing Deathstar with a confused look on his face, Deathstar eyes fades to black as she grabs his face pulling him into a vacant room while absorbing his life force until his body lay unconscious on the ground, "sleep tight".
"Coast is clear, hurry up before the guards... uh!,...just come on", Deathstar said as she spoke into her earpiece, she caught herself as she was about to reveal what she did the innocent guard, she didn't want to leave a bad impression on the other two. she press the elevator door open as she waits for the others.

ooc: LOL DS.

Raina waited anxiously alone with Luke for a moment while Death Star took off to do what DS did best. As a strait woman Raina could still admit how strikingly beautiful DS was. She'd make an excellent detraction. For a moment she wondered if Luke thought she looked pretty in her dress before it became a suit. That reminded her- she needed to get that skirt back on before they left. "I hope we got the right files." she said out loud to Luke. "I guess we have to wait to see. I wish I could teleport or something. That be so much easier than going fish." she snorted a laugh.
When DS gave the word into the ear peace- Raina again thanked God the woman thought to bring them since she as leader did not- Raina took off toward the elevator door waving for Luke to follow. If DS has made a mess she sure as heck didn't leave it around. She saw no evidence of the guards and that gave her a sinking feeling but she ignored it. DS wouldn't do anything too bad... right?
She crashed into the elevator along side Death Star. "Alright.' she breathed. "Going down!"

Luke moved out right behind Raina, his sonar sweeping the whole floor once more just to make sure that none of the other guards were going to be appearing any time soon.
"Nice work ladies." He congratulated a few moments later as the elevator doors closed, sealing the three 'thieves' inside, "Now for the escape." They had a few minutes until alarms were sounded due to the unconscious guard. Perhaps even as much as half an hour. They key would be for them to get out before any such alarm could be sounded since it was quite likely that guests would be monitored even more closely once the break-in was discovered.
"What's the plan? Mingle and then head back to the mansion?"
IC: "What's the plan? Mingle and then head back to the mansion?" [/i]
"Raina?", Deathstar asked her fellow x-man, for the first time Deathstar didn't have a clue on how they were going to escape and not set off an alarm, she hoped their leader would have a plan.
"We must hurry, since I was discovered by the guards, they are going to be a little more cautious, and if they see me again they will know its not a coincidence" Deathstar said in a frantic mood thanks to Luke's sonar.

Raina's eyes darted between the two as the elevator came to the bottom floor and opened with a ding. She led the way out and scooped up her skirt that she'd stashed and hobbled about trying to put it on. She could hear the party going on- see the lights, even smell some food. Her stomach rumbled. She was hungry. "Unless Death Star wants to play the dumb drunk all night I think we stand a better chance heading back to the limo and then to the mansion. We can debrief on the way and check this thing out. But I think it would be too big a risk to stay and mingle. We should leave separately though maybe.. as to not cause suspicion."

Ah yes, the guards that Deathstar had so easily disposed of. That one in particular would be waking up eventually so it probably was a good idea to get out as quickly as possible.
"Deathstar you go first since your the one that could most easily be identified by any of the guards." Luke decided quickly, "Raina will go second and I'll go last. I'm the most used to these kinds of parties so if one of us does end up getting caught in the crowd, I'd come across as the least suspicious."
While Deathstar made her way out of the hallway and eventually to the limo, Luke turned back to Raina and gave her a slightly wicked smile. "You know, sometime we're gonna have to go to a real party together and not just a mission oriented one."
Just before Raina prepared to exit the hallway Luke gave her a quick kiss for luck and then the waiting began. Mentally he was counting down the amount of time he would give the two ladies before once again slipping out into the party. Finally, when he felt the time was right, Luke walked back out into the party and immediately mingled with the crowd. Even though the exit was a little bit of a slower process for him because so many people were calling out his name to say a quick hello, Luke made it through relatively quickly and effectively made his exit out the front doors. Most of the reporters had already left to get their film developed and write their bylines for the following days paper so the steps were almost deserted as he made his way back down to the limo.
"Well, that went pretty well." Luke observed as he climbed into the stretch vehicle and took a seat, "Hopefully we got what we came for."
