The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Davon had spent the night on the roof of a hotel, since it would have been stupid to try to do anything while everyone wsa sleeping. He could be seen behind the front gate, on the street side.
What the hell is going on here? Soldiers? Pointing guns at... students?
He gripped the bars of the gate as his anger swelled. He hated the persecution of mutants, and soldiers pointing guns at students of a 'retard facility' really pushed his buttons.
The bars of the gate bent slightly in his grip. He weighed his options of flying in daylight, and didn't like what that meant. He could barely make out what was going on through his sunglasses, but he defintely didn't like what he was seeing.
*tricity smirked and release some of the electricity in her body as he head began to swirl. in fact, a lot of the energy was leaving her that her eyes turned back to green and she began to stagger. she quickly regained herself, but thought how her pregnancy was really affecting her mutated strength. general whitmore looked at cassiel in disgust.* whitmore: "Don't toy with me boy. You don't know who you're talking to." *tricity looked over the general's shoulders and saw davon at the gates. he was gripping the bars very tightly so tricity closed her eyes and concentrated to shut the power off. the gate swung open and davon was able to walk on the grounds. the intruders did not see this as they kept their attention fixed on tricity and mike.* "General, your tactics of forcefully coming on this property to get information will not persuade me to let you talk to any of the residents here. I know why you want the stones. Do you even think I would let you talk to any of them, knowing your intentions?"
He was surprised when the gates opened by themselves, but that alleviated one of his problems. Doing his best to be quiet, he stalked purposefuly to get behind the helicopter. It was all he could do not to run up and just start slugging the first soldier he came to, but he managed it.
"No, General Whitmore, I know who I'm dealing with. The headmistress has told you to leave, and you seem to think you can force the issue because of rather privelaged information that you don't have business knowing in the first place. However, right now, I'm her lightning. This is these children's home. They will be safe here." A noticeable aura of fear came over the gathered group, with the notable exceptions of Tricity, Cassiel, and Demon if he chose to approach. "You should make sure that the same can be said of your men, General."
Mike felt the urges in the back of his mind, the personality of the guardian and avenger, pushing itself into the forefront of his mind. He only fought it halfheartedly.
"Welcome to hell, buddy. Don't start anything, but be ready for these idiots to," Mike thought to Davon as he stepped through the gates. He knew Davon's reaction to all this, and honestly didn't disapprove, but he didn't want the situation escalating needlessly.
His anger solidified and went into near full rage. Picking on kids is one thing. Picking on Mutants was something else entirely. He stepped around from behind the chopper with the full intention of picking up the man in charge by his spine.
*general whitmore stood his ground firmly and the soldiers raised their weapons.* whitmore: "I don't plan on shooting, but would you risk having your children taken away from you? Wouldn't you rather just talk peacefully?" "Do you think I wouldn't like to? Of course I don't want them to be in trouble. I know the reaches of your power, General Whitmore. If I had any information, I would give it to you." *tricity explained.* "I don't know where the other stone is."
"Yes, this is a mutant school. Do NOT attack that man. Yet," Mike thought to Davon.
He let Tricity do the talking, the general obviously having no interest in him for the moment. As he listened, he kept his mind wide open, probing for any indications of impending gunfire, and took a close look at the nearest weapon, trying to see where the safety switches were and how noticable their movement was.
Rational thought was gone from him, but he stopped anyway. His toeclaws dug into the dirt as he crouched, ready to spring at the slightest hint of aggression.
*one of the soldiers turned around as he noticed davon's presence. he began firing at demon, nearly hitting the helicopter. general whitmore turned around, pulling out a handgun as the rest of the soldiers looked for demon. tricity looked around frantically to find demon, but general whitmore grabbed her arm roughly and pulled her toward him. he put the gun to her stomach and backed away toward the helicopter as the soldiers kept him surrounded.* "STOP! Let me go!!" whitmore: "We were going to be peaceful, until that little sneak attack!" *he said, pressing the gun into her stomach and backing up toward the helicopter.* whitmore: "START THE 'COPTER!!" "Let them go first!" *whitmore cocked the gun.* whitmore: "This isn't a negotiation. START THE HELICOPTER!" "PLEASE, DON'T!!" whitmore: "Open fire!!" *the soldiers began shooting at Cassiel.* "NO!" *tricity screamed out as the bullets flew toward mike.*
Eliza ran her hand through her hair, as she was watching the events unfolding. It would seem that this general wanted some information on a stone, and he was using mild threats of violence against children to try and get the information that he wanted. Eliza cracked her neck, and approached from her hiding place, standing behind the general, a few feet back. She had used similar ruthless tactics, but she really had an issue with threating the life of an unborn baby.
Mike's eyes blazed blue with rage. Rage at the general and his audacity, rage at himself for letting this happen... every bit of rage he could muster.
"I WARNED YOU!"
The bullets bounced harmlessly off his telekinetic shield, and Mike strode forward. He didn't think about what he was doing, he knew what he had to do. The gun in the general's hand first was telekinetically jammed, then thrown from his hand. The four soldiers' guns were likewise thrown aside, followed by the soldiers themselves, though they were thrown much farther than their guns. The general's arms were pulled upright, then he was yanked forcefully away from Tricity, and back towards Mike.
"I WARNED YOU! These children WILL be safe, as will ANYONE within these gates. You said I don't know who I'm dealing with, general, but you have NO IDEA who you deal with. I feel every quiver of fear these children have, every tear that they shed." Mike abandoned himself to the rage, feeling wholely justified this time. "And when someone harms them, I'm here to make them pay," he finished coldly.
With Whitmore strung up like a turkey, Davon missed him and rolled, nearly losing his hat. He turned back with whisps of flame leaking out of his mouth.
*tricity collapsed to her knees and quickly started the helicopter. she grabbed demon's arm to keep him from attacking the general.* "Don't. That's the last thing this school needs." *she quickly touched his shoulder, trying to get his attention and bring his rage down.* "Mike, let him down." *tricity collected all the automatics and tossed them aside.* "Cass, just let them go."
Mike's head snapped toward Tricity, a vicious, hateful look frozen on it, though it obviously wasn't her that these feelings were directed at.
"Give me a reason! This flatscan won't leave us alone if we let him leave!" Mike asked. His voice definitely was different at the moment, more noticeable now that he wasn't shouting. Still, somewhere in the back of Mike's mind, the rational part was aware of Tricity's command, and slowly but surely, the glow in his eyes died down.
"I..." He looked back at Tricity again, and once again remembered what he'd promised her... she said stop, so he had to stop. Still, he let his power strike out one last time at the General before his rational mind completely took over. For the next several weeks, whenever the general saw a drinking fountain, he'd be painfully aroused, and the thought of touching a handgun would make him terribly, heart-wrenchingly sad.
As this used up the last of the rage fueling his power, Mike set the general down carefully, never taking his eyes off of him.
