The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

As Max walked up to the gates of the grand mansion, he looked again at the address of the flyer he held in his hand. Yup this is the place He thought. Looks like a good place to keep kids out of trouble. But looks can be decieving.
He went up to the intercom at the front of the door and pressed the button so that the people inside would hear him and let himin. "Hello, My name is Max Peterson, I'm with the New York fire department. I'd like to speak with someone incharge." Sure he hadn't come with the Fire department's knowledge but he was part of the team. He just hadn't started yet.

Sam was sitting in his office going over the paper work of one of the newer residents when a light that said intercom lit up. Glad that Streak had set up the phones to match up with the intercom system that ran to the front of the gate. Made things a lot easier for everyone.
"Hello, My name is Max Peterson, I'm with the New York fire department. I'd like to speak with someone incharge."
The voice that sounded through the intercom sounded to be a mans voice maybe late twenties earlier thirties maybe, either way Sam was a little curious to see what he needed after all he did drop the name of NYFD and that alone was enough to bring the ice mutant to the gates, “I’ll buzz you in,” Sam said with an authoritive voice, sure he wasn’t the one in charge that was Tricity and she was busy so the guy would have to settle with Sam, “Meet at the front door….” With that Sam unclicked the intercom and hit the button that unlocked the entrance gates.
Getting up Sam walked from his office and his big comfy chair to the front door. It was only a few turns to get there but he didn’t mind going to greet a firefighter. Opening the great wooden doors Sam smiled and extended a hand to the man who did seem to be a few years older than Sam, “Name’s Sam, what can I do for you Mr. Peterson?”

As the door buzzed open Max smiled. "This is a good start." He walks up to the front door and marveled at all the buildings and the grounds. How much money does this place have?
He walks up to the man standing at the gate, and thought how young the man looked. “Name’s Sam, what can I do for you Mr. Peterson?”
Max smiled and shook the man's hand. "Thank you for your time Sam. I come with some bad news, regarding a young mutant involved with the fire at 5th street, and I was wondering if you could assist me, as this isn't my area of expertise. Is it alright if we have this discussion inside?"

Noticing the man that was shaking his hand Sam smiled slightly ‘defiantly looks to be a fire fighter,’ but then again when did no one not look like a fire fighter around here, the mansion it self had hundreds of kids his age with a frame that was that of a firefighter all the way to a body builder.
"Thank you for your time Sam. I come with some bad news, regarding a young mutant involved with the fire at 5th street, and I was wondering if you could assist me, as this isn't my area of expertise. Is it alright if we have this discussion inside?"
Sam’s jaw slightly dropped when Max mentioned a young mutant involved with a fire, ‘was it one of the students here?’ Sam asked himself as he made the motion for Max to come in, “Let’s take this to my office, do you need anything to drink?”
Once back in Sam’s office Sam walked over to his big comfy chair and sat down, “So please, “ Sam said trying to sound as polite as possible, “Mr. Peterson please sit and tell me about this fire, was one of the mutants from here?” Sam asked curiously hoping the answer was no.

“Let’s take this to my office, do you need anything to drink?” Max shook his head. "No thanks, I'm good." Following Sam into the building, he looked at the architecture and thought to himself, What kind of kid would want to commit crimes when he has all of this? “Mr. Peterson please sit and tell me about this fire, was one of the mutants from here?”
Max sat down and then said carefully, "I am not sure. I believe this fire may have been caused by a mutant, but there was a mutant who claimed to help me in the fire, but then began destroying the walls and floors, furthering the rate of destruction, and leaving me and a man I was protecting to die."
He tried to think back at the boy's appearance. "He was a green eyed African American, in his early twenties. His head was shaved and both ears were pierced. He had an unusual ability. He created these beings from green smoke, 3 tall looking beings. Goblins, or orcs or something, they looked like something from the Lord of the Rings.
"I was wondering if he is a student at your school and if you could assist me in finding him."

Pondering in his seat with his hand on his chin, “Rings a bell and these beings of his looked like goblins?” Sam had a hunch he knew who this mutant was, he never had the pleasure of meeting the mutant but from what the file says he didn’t seem to dangerous, “Can I ask you…” Sam paused, “What exactly do you plan to do to the student if he is here?”
Sam walked over to a file cabinet and searched through it and found Devon’s file he pulled it out and placed it on his side of his desk and kept his hands on it, “Now I couldn’t think of a reason a lone firefighter would come here by himself to secure a mutant,” frowning now Sam looked over the guy he said, “Now I am no fool Mr. Peterson, my job is to protect those that reside in this mansion, even if it means me going up against a small army, now would you please tell me what you could possibly do if your goblin mutant was here?”
Sam wasn’t mad maybe more defensive than anything, this mansion was his home and he would do anything in his power to protect it and those that called it home, however he was obligated to help the law due to his past he wanted to do what he could to help make this world a better place and if need be he would do what he could to help. But in a situation such as this Sam wanted to only diffuse the situation.

“What exactly do you plan to do to the student if he is here?” Max hadn't really thought that far. He had assumed he wasn't a student, and he would just get help in getting what he thought was a rogue mutant. But now...
"Sir, this mutant was involved in a fire, and thus I would need to question him about his involvement in the fire. From the way he acted, leaving me and an old man in the fire, while destroying part of the building made it seem like he was involved in starting the fire. " “Now I couldn’t think of a reason a lone firefighter would come here by himself to secure a mutant,” frowning now Sam looked over the guy he said, “Now I am no fool Mr. Peterson, my job is to protect those that reside in this mansion, even if it means me going up against a small army, now would you please tell me what you could possibly do if your goblin mutant was here?”
Max nodded. "I understand your concern. I came here without telling my superiors where I was going, or that I was even following the case because I can understand what it's like being a mutant, the fear and hatred. I've endured it for 22 years.
"I was more concerned about the danger the mutant was to others and himself. I wanted to take him to this school, because this school has a reputation of reforming mutants, but if he's already a student I fear what your teaching them." He looked face to face with the instructor.
If this guy tries to kill me, I am next to useless at this point. He probably has something like super strength or making people's bodies explode by looking at them. And what can I do? Blow at him?

Tapping his fingers on his desk Sam didn’t move focus from Max, “So let me get this straight, your came here on your own to look into a mutant that might not even be a resident here? So it’s safe to say they wouldn’t be to pleased to know you were here would they?” Sam asked almost in a mock tone trying to show he was serious about calling Max’s department. But of course Sam was bluffing from he could tell Max was a good person and with things they are now it would be rather difficult for a firefighter who was just fired for threatening a child to find a job regardless if the child was a mutant.
His hands came to his chair as he put his hands on the arm on his chair, “Mr. Peterson do you actually have proof this mutant started the fire? Or is it just your assumption?” quirking his eyebrow Sam said, “Regardless if you are a mutant or not I can not willingly give you confidential information on our residents, now if you must know one thing I will tell you is that he came here only recently, and I will personally question him about the situation.”
Standing and putting the folder of the mutant away Sam walked back to his desk and pulled a pamphlet from one of his drawers, “Now if you seriously have doubts about this place I can show you around, I can assure you we only teach the students and those who need it to have control over their abilities.” Standing up and walking over to the door Sam smiled to Max, “Guarantee that once my tour is over you’ll be wanting to come back more often, regardless if you're a mutant or not, we are all about mutants and humans living together in peace.” Opening the door Sam waited for Max’s response.

“So let me get this straight, your came here on your own to look into a mutant that might not even be a resident here? So it’s safe to say they wouldn’t be to pleased to know you were here would they?” Max raised an eyebrow. "If by they, you mean the fire department, I could easily tell them and get the rest of my department involved as well as the police. However, since this is a school I thought it would be better to talk with someone in charge first.
“Mr. Peterson do you actually have proof this mutant started the fire? Or is it just your assumption?”
"I am not certain whether he did start the fire. Infact I am almost certain he didn't start the fire. What I do know however is that he used his powers to help weaken the foundations of the building, and then left me and a civilian in the burning building. What I want to know is if he was working with the person who did start the fire, or if there was a person who started the fire. The person I rescued claimed someone was responsible, but I wanted to follow any leads on the matter."
“Regardless if you are a mutant or not I can not willingly give you confidential information on our residents, now if you must know one thing I will tell you is that he came here only recently, and I will personally question him about the situation.”
Max nodded. "Very well. He is your student, I trust you in this matter."
“Now if you seriously have doubts about this place I can show you around, I can assure you we only teach the students and those who need it to have control over their abilities.” Standing up and walking over to the door Sam smiled to Max, “Guarantee that once my tour is over you’ll be wanting to come back more often, regardless if you're a mutant or not, we are all about mutants and humans living together in peace.” Opening the door Sam waited for Max’s response.
Max stood up and shook his head. "No thank you, I've seen enough of your school and you look like an honest man. You have been quite helpful in this matter. Please call me if you find anything to help with the investigation." He reached for a pencil he held in his pocket and a note book he had. He wrote a phone number and offered it to Sam.

Taking the number and putting it down on his desk then extending his hand to Max for a hand shake. “Sorry I couldn’t be more help to you, I will personally question him to see if he was truly the fire starter, however I’d have to see what we would have to do with him after, only had this job for a short time now!” Sam said with a smile as he picked up Peterson’s number and put in his desk. From there he pulled a card of his own and handed it to Peterson it was Sam’s private line separate to the school it was basically his Bat Signal but in cell form.
“Call this number if you every need help with anything, those fire hoses of yours can’t put out all the fire…” Sam said with a grin as his free hand shot up in the air and iced over, “I have been known to help out when needed.” Motioning for the door Sam waved his hand and said, “You have a good day Mr. Peterson and I’ll keep this visit between us…”

Max smiled. "Thank you very much Sam." As soon as he left the room, and was sure he was far away from the mutant teacher he breathed out deeply. Thank God. He didn't kill me. Max knew it was just a stereotype he would have to get over, but he didn't have a lot of good times with mutants. This was the first time a mutant hadn't tried to kill him or recruit him into some kind of cult.
"I still don't know what his power is." He whispered softly when he thought no one was there.
He looks at the number he's holding. "This could be useful." He left the school grounds to head back to the streets. At times like this, all he wanted was a nice coffee from Starbucks.
