The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Alright then. I'll hang out with you as long as there's no funny business. I don't know about tonight however since I was planning on visiting the BF , but I'm open tomorrow. I mean, I'm open as in, I'm free to hang out with you. Not open like....I'm just gonna finish my breakfast," the water elemental sighed stuffing her mouth with a piece of toast and nibbling on it like a bunny.
Geo chuckled as Arielle frustrated herself with accidental word play. "Well I'm pretty busy for the next couple of nights but I'll be sure we exchange numbers before we part ways." Geo didn't want to mention that he already had a previous date planned for tonight, he figured that she would pick that up on her own anyways.
"Busy? Hmm...couldn't imagine what you'd be doing to be busy for the next few nights, or do I cross out the what and ask who?" Arielle replied after finishing her toast. "And yes, exchanging numbers would be a good idea. Don't attempt to make any booty calls. I'm warning you now." she shook her finger in Geo's face.
Arielle laughed. Geo really was good company. They stood on opposite sides of this whole "war" and yet they managed to find middle ground to form a friendship. Part her believed that there was still some good left in Geo and maybe she could help turn him around. Then again, men are too damn stubborn. She could try but there was definitely a low success rate.
"I wouldn't dream of such a thing." Geo said in response to Arielle warning him against attempting a booty call. He popped the last piece of his burrito into his mouth, chewed and swallowed. "As to my plans for the next couple of nights, well, lets just say your not the only beauty I run into, it's purely sexual though I promise you." He teased with a wink before downing the rest of his pepsi.
Arielle sure was easy to be around, he liked how he could be around a beautiful woman and not have their faces magnetically attached the entire time, however tempted he was to break they're verbal contract.
"Hmmm..." the corners of Arielle's mouth drooped a bit to form a slight frown. He was using some girl just as a sex outlet? It kinda made her feel a bit turned off. Then again, why did she care? What he did was his own business.
"Have you ever thought about settling down? I'm not necessarily talking about marriage, but in a relationship in general. Would you ever be willing to put aside your playboy ways and be completely devoted to one girl who'd satisfy your emotional and sexual needs?" she asked him.
The playful look on Geo's face vanished and was replaced with a stern, serious one on the subject change. "There was only one girl to ever make me feel that way, she was like you in the sense that she thought my views were wrong. She always told me how I was human despite my abilities, that even though humans treated us the way they did we should treat them with tolerances and patience. She was with the X-men and met me shortly after I went independent. She made me want to stop being the player and start being a boyfriend. Her name was Deja, she disappeared during the registration." Geo shifted his eyes from Arielle to out the window. He had never talked about Deja with someone before, even Abyss who had helped him deal with the lose.
He scanned the outside, looking up at the overpass and into the slightly cloudy blue sky. He tried to fight back the sadness but was losing miserably. He wondered how messed up his emotions must be to go from playful to emo in less then 60 seconds.
"Deja? I haven't heard of her...she disappeared? Like poof, vanished? Never mind. There no need to push it further..." Arielle sighed. She was no empath but she could tell she struck a cord in Geo and brought his mood down.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bring back hurtful memories..." she apologized and kind of blushed a bit when he mentioned Deja was like her. "I'm sure you'll find someone. You never know. You could meet your soul mate at any time, any where. Cheer up," she smiled, reaching over and gently put her index finger under his chin, turning his face back towards hers.
"No need to turn away from me when you're down. Just know that you don't have to act all tough and hard around me. I'm here if you ever need someone to talk to. I can't guarantee I can fix your problems, but I'll offer the best advice I can on them. You have my shoulder to cry on and I won't tell anyone if you do." she reassured him.
A faint smile appeared on Geo's face as Arielle turned his face back to her's and reassured him. "Thanks..." He muttered under his breath and ran his hand back through his hair. "...and I don't want you to think I'm a sleaze for having a little booty call now and again. I always try for the real deal first, and if it doesn't work out then I use them as a band-aid solution."
Geo thought about his past behavior, or more recent behavior rather. "Deja started off like any other girl, i was flirtatious like you saw me today, but as things went along I really began to like her. We were both taken to a resistance hold at the same time and then i started to realize that she was different, I barely noticed other women and she was all I could think about. I was devastated by her disappearance, that was when I met the people at the Sanctuary and they took me in. They're really not bad people you know." A bit of light returned to Geo's eyes as a massive weight began to lift off of his chest.
"That's kind of unhealthy...isn't it? You have sex to help ease the disappointment of having bad dates? Then again, what do I know. The only person I've been truly intimate with is the guy I'm with now. I had lots of boyfriends before him, but..I lost my virginity to the one I have now. That's probably another reason why I'm so attached..." she sighed.
"Sorry to get personal. You were spilling something personal so I did too. I'm not the type to leave someone off hanging by themselves."
Geo was relieved that he wasn't the only one telling person information. He waited as the waitress came back and refilled they're drinks, Geo gave her a nod of thanks as she walked away. "That could very well be part of the reason why you are so attached to this lucky fellow, I remember how attached I got to my first, but that was when I was younger and it died out fast, not that I'm saying you too will lose your spark, I envy you I truly do." He quickly added the last two statements to reasure Arielle.
"It's actually quite refreshing that your willing to give up as much information as you take. It makes a person more comfortable sharing personal things with you. I've never talked to anyone about Deja before so you really just helped me alot." He took a drink before continuing. "Like I said though, I don't want you to think of me as a sleaze for what I've done to women, I have morality issues." He joked in the last part of his statement.
"I'm glad I could help..." Arielle smiled back. "And it's ok. I don't think you're that sleazy considering that you admitted to your problem. That's always the first step to getting better," she laughed a bit.
"And to be completely honest, if I wasn't taken right now, I really would go out with you. You may be a little rough and angry on the outside, but I know there's something deeper to you and it's sad that your parents didn't see that. Or that humans can't see that in us. I know some people believe they don't need anyone, but I disagree. Everybody needs companionship, friendship, and love. The more people I can have in my life, the better. That's why I didn't completely blow you off. I may not be your lover, but I can definitely be your friend. I have plenty of love to spread."
"Thanks Arie," Geo said, a warm smile forming across his face. "It's to bad you couldn't have been taking a walk by the sanctuary four weeks ago. There's more to you too you know, you come off as the flirtatious and easy but now that I'm getting to know you I know that your much more emotional and insightful, not nearly what I had in mind when i first saw you walking across the street."
He was touched that someone saw him as more then the angst filled teen who was a ladies man, he took a note to improve his emotional armor so as it would not happen again, but touched. "Well I would love to have you as a friend and it's nice to have someone know the me behind the facade. But still, don't spread it around, i have a reputation to keep." Geo joked, letting out a deep chuckle.
"I am a flirt. Easy, no." Arielle laughed. "I guess I can see why you'd think I'm that way. I admit I have my flaws. Even when I'm with Aiden, I have to fight the urge to flirt with other men. Mostly for their safety cause I'm afraid he'd go berserk and maul them to death..." she said nervously while scratching her nose.
"And of course. I may be a flirt and get rowdy and ghetto at times, but I try to be as open minded and friendly as possible..." she said. "And don't worry. I won't tell anyone that you have a soft chewy center," she winked.
Geo couldn't help but laugh out loud as Arielle spoke of restraining herself from flirting. "Well I'm glad you decided to make the exception for me, I've grown tired of breathing anyways." He joked, smiling as she scratched her nose, probably a nervous tick.
"Well I'll certainly vouge for the flirtatiousness rowdiness friendliness and being open minded. I'm a bit afraid to find out about the ghetto part of you though." He said chuckling.
"Hopefully you never will, Geo. Can't say the same for those girls I put in ICU though. One of my nicknames, Miss Bottle Action..." she winked. "Or I just stomp them down. I hate people who talk so much trash but can't back it up with their fists. So High school, and I'm glad I'm done with it." she chuckled a bit.
"I really do enjoy your company. I can't tell you how badly I needed this. I was feeling really crappy this morning, but you helped me a lot. Thank you."
