The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Roger hopped a fence into someones yard to get off the main street. He could hear the man behind him calling for backup. He ran as fast as he could go and hopped the second fence into another yard, then ran through and onto another street. He ran down the endless streets of the suburbs passing house after house, trying to take as many random turns as possible. Christ this is bad, I really took a chance back there, he could have shot me at any moment. He thought to himself as he ran, he passed a few people on the sidewalks that only stared as he bolted past. I need to find somewhere to lay low for a while fast!
A few moments later Roger was getting tired. He could not hear any sirens or anything out of the ordinary. He came to a street that led to a large intersection. On the other side of the street was a park, he could see joggers and people walking their dogs around a large sidewalk that circled a lake. He could see rather thick woods behind the lake.
It will probably be obvious that I would hide in the woods, but its the best place so far, and it is better than the open. I don't even know if they are still following me...
He ran across the oddly empty intersection and into the park toward the woods.
What a happy and sunny day it was in the park, so carefree, so relaxing it was truly was what could be any better. Emerald was taking a long needed vacation away from all the stress that she had currently going on at the moment so today she was sitting in the park eating her hot dog she just got from the vendor across the street. She took a blissful bite of her hot dog, smiling as it went so easilly down her throat, today was really a good day, how could it get better than this? Of course what she wasnt expecting was a boy around her age running past her and into the forest behind her. He looked rather paniced and frightened which could only mean something was wrong almost like he was being chassed. Now, Emerald Lupin liked helping people a great deal but unfortunately though this was her day off so with great irritation she sighed and let out a disdained statement.
"It's my day off damn it! Is a little relaxation to much to ask from these people?" The wolf girl exclaimed, sighing in exasperation.
The female preceded to rise up from her comfortable seat on the green grass, brushing herself off. She inhaled deeply, catching the boys scent immediatly, sweat tended to make someone's scent stronger to her sensitive lupine nose. However, she waited upon seeing a van pull up to the park and men in suits pile out of it, which of course wasnt supecious at all. After seeing them start asking the patrons of the park questions the female figured that it would be best if she listened to what they were asking, or wait to see if they asked her anything. If the boy was a dangerous mutant she might as well know what type of powers he had and if he was dangerous to her.
Just as Roger was almost at the woods a van pulled up near the park and four men jumped out. They did not spot him running but were looking around at peoples faces. They all wore black suits and one was talking on his cell. The van's driver stepped out and walked around to the other men. " K, ask around if someone has seen him. Remember hes dangerous, and don't fuck up this time, i'm tired of fixing your mistakes." The men split up. The van's driver started to walk towards the lake. He noticed a girl standing a ways in front of him so he headed over to her.
Meanwhile the other men were asking random people if they have seen Roger.
Emerald was now very interested in these conversations so she took this moment to listen in, tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear. She met the man that was walking towards her halfway, feeling herself inwardly cringe at what she was about to do. However if she was helping someone she might as well do something like this, no matter how much she would want to shoot herself in the face afterwards.
”Oh my gosh sir what’s going on? There is all this commotion and people talking and such! I just don’t know what to do!” Emerald exclaimed in her most innocent voice.
The wolf girl felt like a little bile just rose up in her throat just then but she didn’t care, it was ether this or she would keep trying to listen to five conversations at once, which never exactly went well. It would be a lot easier to get information from this stupid looking agent person here than eavesdropping on everyone’s conversation.
The man approached Emerald to ask her about Roger.
"Oh my gosh sir what’s going on? There is all this commotion and people talking and such! I just don’t know what to do!" She said to him.
The man raised a eyebrow to her before responding, his nose was swollen and a small bit of blood stained his suit's collar. " Uh yeah... well I'm agent ...H from the ... FBI. We have been called in regarding a extremely dangerous mutant that is in the immediate area. Search teams are making a perimeter as we speak," he stared unblinkingly at Emerald, wondering if she was buying this, figuring that was unlikely he broke all pretense and straight up asked, "Anyways all that crap aside have you seen any suspicious characters around? Namely this man?" He held up a bad picture of roger, his face was a blur. " He will be wearing those same clothes and if hes around here he would have passed by here about 4 or 5 minutes ago max. Oh and hes very dangerous and has killed before, were hoping he wont kill again."
The other men were questioning people nearby. One group pointed toward the woods in the direction Roger had ran.
At this time Roger had already ran into the woods and had no intention of stopping anytime soon. He knew they were right there and if he were to stop thinking they wouldn't check the woods, he would most likely meet his end. He ran for as long as he could before he had to finally stop. Panting very hard he sat down by a tree and tried to catch his breath. His eyes and ears were scanning all around trying to hear if they were coming yet or not. He didn't even know how far back the woods went, all he knew was he had to keep going. Before he fully recovered he stood up, shaking slightly, and continued at a jogging pace deeper into the woods in a zig zagging pattern, trying to throw them off. He was sweating hard and was constantly wiping his face with his sleeves.
His legs screamed in agony as he continued on, and he had to slow to a brisk walk. His eyes were darting in every direction and he was listening with all his might. He almost ran into things he was so paranoid. About three minutes later he had to stop or else risk crumpling to the ground. He heard water running in the distance and headed toward it. He found a waterfall and noticed a opening behind it. It was a small cave. He was so tired and exhausted from his run as soon as he wandered inside he fell against the wall and fell asleep
“Nope haven’t seen him, I must have been concentrated on this beautiful day we were having here today!” Emerald responded, much to the agent’s dismay. He later left to confirm with his collogues about the boys escape but if he by chance turned around by that time, the female he was talking to was already gone, off into the forest.
Well this was a change of events, it would seem that the boy was being chassed by the feds and that wasn’t exactly something Emerald dealt with all the time. She typically dealt with thugs and felons that became employed with mutant haters just to make an extra buck, these guys were supposedly good at what they did, so she would have to be extra careful around them. The Female glanced at the male in front of her, noting that his breath smelt like deli meats, reminding her to stop by the deli on the way home, if she wasn’t to busy with saving this boys ass from these guys.
It took a trek but the female finally got over to the place that the boys scent left off, which was oddly enough at her normal spot after her wolf transformation. The vast green forest with sun only peering slightly through the canopy of the majestic pines had various rivers and streams running through it, all of them eventually going to the ocean. However, this place was like a miniature lake of all of those waters eventually came to at some point, so this lake was almost like a temporary spot for everything until it flowed out into the various clear watered streams out into the ocean.
The female walked over to the cave that she had so many times isolated herself to when she had a sudden attack of wolven urges. She had found it to be a wonderful isolated place to go too when In need of a place where one could rest without any interruptions. Emerald glanced inside to find the boy dead tired on the ground she smiled lightly and leaned up against the wall of the cave, waiting for him to eventually wake. When he did however she would greet him with A
”How was your sleep? Having fun chilling out in my den?” She would ask, wagging her tail back and forth with a grin.
Horrible nightmares raged inside Roger's head. Images of death and confinement flew around taunting him. With a jerk he awoke but kept his eyes closed. He was terrified of what he might find if he opened them. How he was going to get out of this mess he did not know, but at the moment the only thing that mattered was getting away. The waterfall roared and echoed in the cave.
Relief flooded through Roger as he realized he was not captured yet. He opened his eyes and looked around inside the cave. In the very back he could see old crates of some sort, and there was large claw marks on the walls. He shivered slightly, Perhaps a bear or something lives here... he thought to himself. He turned to look at the caves entrance and bolted upright. A girl was sitting against the wall, wagging a..tail?
"How was your sleep? Having fun chilling out in my den?" She asked in a cheerful voice. He just stood there frozen for a while having what felt like a thousand heart attacks at once. She looked nothing like the men chasing him, and she seemed happy and carefree almost. Surely she wasn't one of them. Roger felt completely brain dead. He had no idea what to do or even say. He shook himself and tried to focus. It was stupid to be this jumpy, especially in this situation. He had to be ready for anything.
" Uh.. den?" he asked finally, " Who are you?" He stepped back a few steps and got ready for whatever might happen. He could never lose his head like that again. This whole problem started because he was to hasty, he could not afford any more mistakes. Besides this girl must be a mutant, there's no other explanation for the tail, he had to be extra careful.
The boy seemed a little surprised when he woke up and the panic in his face was apparent. He obviously wasn’t expecting anyone to follow him here, so it wasn’t surprising that he was automatically on the defensive. Hell, Emerald would have done the same thing if anyone found her in the cave right after she transformed. Actually, she did do that when Rupert first decided to crash her little party during the haywire incident.
“Well I’m Emerald Lupin, This place is the cave I usually inhabit when I want to be alone, a nice secluded spot to allow me to clear my head. There is food and such in those crates if you want some, mostly beef jerky and warm coke but its still food.” The wolf girl offered gesturing to the crates on the side of the cave, offering her food to him. “Now what I would like to know is why those guys in the park are chasing you and what I can do to help you out.”
Emerald was sincere about it, she really did want to help him because she knew what it was like to be chased by people. It wasn’t exactly a pleasant experience, she knew that much. She wanted things to shape up for this kid right here and right now, she would do anything to help him.
Roger listened to her talk. He was weighing his chances even as she spoke, should he trust her or not? She could be a highly trained agent of some sort. Perhaps they were tired of him getting away and were pulling out the big guns so to speak. Roger decided to trust her, at least a little bit at first. However the jerky thing was obviously a trap, Roger knew better than to fall for simple things like that. He shook himself, gathered his thoughts, and put on his game face.
" You certainly know quite a bit about my situation." He said to her, trying to inject as much confidence into his voice as possible, " No matter what you plan to say, it wont affect anything." He was taking shots in the dark at this point, he had no clue who she really was after all. " Only actions will prove to me that you are who you say you are, and that you really mean to help." He knew he sounded harsh but it was necessary, it was a matter of survival.
"Anyway if you know this much about me already I guess it wont hurt to tell you this," He lowered his voice, " Those people are most likely still after me. They will not stop unless they catch me or I die. Now that you have come in contact with me you may be in danger to." He never took his eyes away from her. He was trying to read her facial expressions the best he could. " They won't kill me, but i have no idea about you. I dont know if that matters to you or not." He deliberately left any details of why they were after him or who they were, hoping to find out if she knew more. "If you found me so easily I can assume they cant be to far behind." He stopped at this point and waited for her reaction. At any moment he was ready to defend himself if he had to.
Roger seemed to a very paranoid young man from what Emerald was gathering and she could see why. This kid was being chassed by those government thugs and they wanted him back for some reason. If the wolf girl had to put her money on anything it would most likely be that they were experimenting on the poor boy or at least that’s what they usually did to mutants besides kill them on site. She was flattered though that he was worried for her safety, telling her that they may kill her if she helped him.
”Look kid, you have to realize something, as mutants we are all in the same boat, all of us are being hunted by the government and all of us are very much disliked. So basically we have to stick together,” Emerald told him with a slight sigh, leaning against the wall with slight exasperation in her voice. “If they are gonna come after you let them, come because you see it takes a hell of a lot more than guns to stop me, and if necessary I will distract them and you get the hell out of here.”
From her body language and tone it would be pretty apparent that Emerald was telling the truth. However whether or not he believed her was all up to him, he could and he couldn’t, it just depended on him.
”You can leave if you want im just trying to be helpful to a fellow freak.”
She cant be serious...she would risk her life for a mutant she has never met before? Roger thought to himself. But it honestly looks like she is telling the truth,
He heard voices over the waterfall. He couldn't tell how many or what they were saying but either way it was not good. They were here if he liked it or not. Roger switched battle plans, he could not run away and leave her here for what was certainly death. He felt anger flowing up in him. They chase me my whole life and never leave me alone. It's never going to stop unless I make them stop!
"Fine, if that's how you feel, how do you feel about some ass kicking?"
This isnt like me, why do i feel like fighting? Roger shook his head Who cares lets do this. Its time for a little bloodshed.
Roger grimaced and flexed his arms. He flung his jacket to the ground as crystal flowed out of his skin and formed a sharp point on his left arm and a large chunk like shape on his right. His pants bulged as crystal formed around them and his feet. He kicked off his shoes as fast as he could as the crystal grew. The bottoms of his jeans ripped as the crystal reached 5 inches in thickness, and Roger stood ready to go down fighting.
"I hope your ready, cause plans aside it sounds like their here." He raised his arms and stood ready to fight. "I hope you have some good moves."
Emerald had already noted inwardly that the boy probably didn’t trust her. Hell she wouldn’t after what he had been through. The kid had a lot to be afraid of especially with these guys chasing after him. Though, she did wish that he would believe her though it would make things a lot easier on the both of them. This was always a welcome change from situations she currently had herself settled in ones that usually invoved varying amount of distrust. When Roger mentioned people coming Emerald had already caught there scent long before they got there. The female smiled lightly at him, getting up from her spot against the walk, clenching her fists.
”Ohh I will do fine, just watch out for yourself.” The she wolf responded.
Roger grinned, " Don't worry about me." He said, sounding braver than he felt.
He walked past her, the crystal around his feet making loud CLACK sounds as he walked. He reached the waterfall and could only hear the falling water.
Heh, its kind of funny, I see her tail and freak out, but she sees crystal flow out of my arms and she doesn't even mention it. Maybe she already knew, maybe she really is one of them. Roger shook his head, trying to clear his thoughts. If she is I would have been killed in my sleep already. Ah...but they want me alive... Roger stared into the falling water for a few seconds, fighting to clear his mind of these negative thoughts.
He finally turned and looked at the wolf girl Emerald, " Ready?" Without waiting for a response he leaped into the waterfall and landed on the rocks outside. He raised his arms to his face, trying to shield it, as his eyes started darting around furiously looking for the followers.
There they were, about 30 feet away from the waterfall, still slightly hidden in the woods, walking toward him. They were all looking at him with serious faces. One was the man from that morning, he still had blood on his shirt, and had cotton stuffed into his nose. Roger cracked a evil grin but quickly shook himself and stared them down. Don't get cocky, Its a good way to die. He thought to himself.
Who knew how this would end, but he was sure it would end in bloodshed and his life would never be the same.
" Here we go...I guess." He muttered under his breath.
