The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

“Yeah,” Shin replied with a grin. “And what’s all this about me saying it’s childish in a negative light? I just thought it was funny and unexpected. You know, like this.” He bent over to scoop up a handful of snow, tossing it into the air over Arielle’s head and breaking into a run. “Snow war, snow war, can’t catch me!”
He wheeled his way around Tarin and Lee, tromp trip, tromp trip, and then he tripped about the time he came back to Arielle’s side of the field. For all the energy and effort, he’d come off looking like a fool, faceplanting in the snow.

"You know dirty is my specialty love." Tarin laughed, wiggling his eyebrows as Lee gave as good as she got, just as Tarin had expected. The snow ground into his scalp and man, it was cold. He squealed a little...as much as Tarin ever squealed...as some of the snow fell down the back of his jacket. "That's dirtier than dirty!" he exclaimed as he danced about, trying to shake the snow out of his coat.
The newcomers seemed amused, if anything, at the impromptu snowball fight. Tarin didn't catch any names, he was too busy watching Lee pack that new snowball. A new snowball that she promptly hurtled in his direction. He was ready this time though and sidestepped the ball, just in time to watch the other guy teeter around and fall over. What was it about snow? Lee commented that there wasn't anything wrong with a little snow. Bending down and copying Lee's actions, pressing the snow between his palms until it firmed up into a ball.
Tarin actually thought about it this time, he wound up and chucked it, right at Lee's chest. Her hair had come out of the hat and was damp around her face from the snow he'd smooshed onto her head. Tarin just watched her as she reacted to the snow ball and grinned like a fool. Maybe it wasn't the snow, maybe it was still the newlywed glow. Something told Tarin that wasn't going to go away very quickly, and if it meant Lee felt like this all the time, that was just fine with him.
Standing around cow eyed at his wife, Tarin grinned internally again at the word, was only going to get him hit with another snowball, so he bent again, hurridly forming two more snowballs that he promptly threw in Lee's direction, "What you gonna do about it Lee? Come on!"
The two newcomers seemed to be enjoying watching the fight, but weren't appearing at all interested in joining in. Well, that just meant that Lee's main attention stayed focused on where it needed to be, on her husband who seemed to be set on whipping her in this snowball fight.
"Hey!" Lee said somewhat defensively. "I told you that I knew how to play dirty! I warned you, and you still went there, so it's only fair!" So what if technically Lee's warning, threat, whatever you wanted to call it, had actually come after he had smushed the snow on her head?
And then Lee saw the snowball heading in her direction. She was about to move out of the way, when she remembered about the two people watching them. Lee didn't normally use her speed all that much, even when she was able to, that morning had been more out of excitement than routine.
That hesitation, that worry about showing her powers, was all it took, Lee knew that she wouldn't be able to get out of the way in time. Still, she tried a combination of stepping to the side and back. It sort of worked, the snowball didn't hit her square in the chest, simply in the shoulder.
But the snowball was thrown a little harder than Lee had been expecting. Even as the hit caused her to take another couple more staggering steps back, Lee couldn't help but be a little impressed. Maybe Tarin had been a better ball player than she had thought.
That was as far as that got, though, since halfway through her second step back after being hit, Lee felt the energy she was siphoning peak as if someone was extremely close to her, yet Tarin was feet away, and in front. Then, before she had even finished that same step, Lee felt her boot hit something, and she was falling.
Bang! Lee's eyes were shut when she hit the ground. Opening her eyes again once she got over her initial wincing, Lee pushed herself up into a sitting position and saw that she had tripped over the young man who had been watching hers and Tarin's snowball fight. The young man who was currently laying face down in the snow with her legs draped over his back.
"I'm so sorry!" Lee exclaimed, scooting backward even more. Not as far as she once would have, but definitely far enough that her legs were no longer on him, and that she was out of direct contact with the man.

Arielle growled slightly at Shin. Did he have to dump snow in her hair? Just about when she was going to give him a good thwap, the asian ran away from her reach screaming about a snow war. Luckily Karma made it's appearance and Arielle grinned at Shin laying face first in the snow, and laughing even harder when Lee fell on him.
"He'll be alright," Arielle chuckled pushing more snow over Shin's head to bury it, and then offering Lee a hand to help her up.
"I'm Arielle, by the way. Just to introduce myself so we're not complete strangers." she said, kicking some more snow on Shin to give him a nice winter blanket.

“… Well I guess what’s fair is fair.” Shin muttered, lifting his head through the snowcap he’d suddenly accumulated. He scooted a couple feet forward, turning to look at Lee and Arielle on his hands and knees. Arielle seemed to be helping the girl to her feet. A sudden thought struck Shin, and he smirked.
~*~
“I’m Shin!” He exclaimed, hurling a snowball at Arielle’s back. “And that… well, that’s sorta revenge, I dunno, don’t hit me…” He ducked to gather up another snowball.

Tarin was laughing so hard that tears of mirth were in danger of falling from his eyes. Lee obviously wasn't hurt when she hit the ground, so he laughed even harder. It didn't look like anyone else was hurt either and so, if possible, the situation got funnier.
Lee seemed hesitant to allow the woman to help her up and it took Tarin a second to register why. She might have gotten to the point where she was completely unreserved with him, but the fact of the matter was she was still a little hesitant with others. Jogging forward slowly, to make sure he kept his feet, Tarin reached out and grabbed Lee's hand as the two others introduced themselves.
"No dirty this time Lee..." Tarin said, holding out his other hand to show it was empty. "Though, it might be worth it to see you flail like that again. I haven't laughed that hard in ages."
Tarin turned to the others, hand still outstretched for Lee if she wanted it, "I'm Tarin. This is Lee. Pleased to meet you."
Laughter. That's just about all that Lee heard after she had fallen. A bit of laughing from the young woman, which seemed to be directed at the man that Lee had tripped over, and more laughing, much more laughing, coming from Tarin. Lee didn't even have to look, she recognized the sound of his laughter.
The newcomers, seemed to be in good moods, even after that little accident. Arielle was kicking snow over Shin's head, and once he got up, Shin had thrown a snowball at her back. While Arielle had a hand extended to her to help her up.
The snowball was distraction enough, though, so it didn't really look like Lee was hesitating or debating about taking Arielle's hand, when in reality, that's exactly what she was doing. Thankfully, the snowball bought enough time that Tarin had come over, though still laughing slightly, and grabbed her hand despite the fact that Arielle's was still hanging there.
Closing her gloved fingers around Tarin's hand, Lee let him pull her back to her feet even as she shot him a glare. She was grateful that he'd come to help her up rather than having to actually touch Arielle, but all that laughing...it just wasn't cool.
"You better not be planning to play dirty again," Lee said, still directing a slight glare at Tarin. "You'll pay for it if you do." Yet, despite the slight anger in her words, despite the glare she directed at the man beside her, Lee kept holding on to his hand even after she was safely back on her feet, took a step toward him so she was standing even closer to him. There was definitely something to be said for letting oneself be happy.
"And see, Tarin," Lee asked, turning then to look at Shin as he started packing another snowball. "Isn't that snow perfect for packing? He didn't believe me, I had to practically drag him out here."

"Alright..." Arielle turned back to Shin with a devious grin after being hit with a snow ball. "You asked for it. You wanna go? Then lets dance!" Arielle grunted while Shin ducked expecting her to hurl another snow ball his way. She opted to get revenge by another means. Mainly that she lunged towards Shin and tackled him to the ground. Something she had learned from watching American football.
"I'm not through yet," she said sitting on top of Shin. Taking snow into her hands, the Brazilian girl shoved the snow it into Shin's face, rubbing it in good like salting raw meat. "Eat that," she giggled and turned back to the newlywed couple.

With an oof, he fell back from the tackle, then received a face full of snow. Through the grinding he muttered ‘that’s hardly fair…’, then tried to shove her off him. “Haven’t you ever had a snowball fight before, Ari? This isn’t like football.” He gave a weak laugh. Honestly, was she supposed to be this heavy? It was a good thing he was a gentleman.

He'd pay for it, would he? Tarin reached out as Lee continued to hold his hand and pulled her even closer than she already had moved. "You're going to make me pay?" he said, close against her ear, murmuring really. "How are you going to make me pay? Is it something I'm going to be able to make up for later? "
Then Lee was commenting on the snow again, how perfect it was for packing and Tarin nodded, his arms still wrapped around her. "It really is perfect for packing, and not quite as cold as I'd thought it was when we came out."
The other two were chasing each other around, each one upping the ante on the other, but the woman seeming to have the upper hand. Definitely, Tarin thought as she smashed a handful of snow into the man's face.
Somewhat reluctantly, Tarin dropped his arms away from Lee and bent to gather his own snowball. "You may have had to drag me out here Lee." Tarin said sagely and grinning, "But now that I'm here, I can't let a member of the male species suffer as he is."
That said, Tarin wound up and chucked his perfectly formed snowball at the woman, right as she tackled the other guy. Turning to Lee, Tarin grabbed her for a quick kiss then ran lightly away to the other man's side as he struggled to get out from under the woman, "I think this just became battle of the sexes. Better stock up..." he added, casting a look at the other man and bending to make more snowballs.
The other woman didn't seem overly upset about the fact that Lee hadn't taken her hand up. It didn't even seem to phase her at all, in fact. Or maybe it was because of the fact that Tarin had come over to help his new wife up. Whatever the reason, Lee was glad for it, and despite the fact that they were supposed to be out there having Tarin's first real snowball fight, Lee was happy to just stand there with him. More so when he pulled her even closer.
By this point, Arielle and Shin were running around starting a snow fight of their own, and Lee couldn't stop the smile as she watched. That fun, that joy, is that what she and Tarin had looked like just minutes earlier as they had been playing around? If it had been anything close to it, Lee was extremely glad, they hadn't had nearly enough happy time over the last year.
"Oh, you can't let a member of the male species suffer?" Lee asked, an eyebrow raised as she watched Tarin run off packing a snowball. Shaking her head slightly, Lee leaned down and gathered some snow. This could be fun, she decided, packing first one snowball, then quickly another.
Holding one in either hand, Lee then straightened up and looked over at the other three. A grin on her face, Lee fired the first snowball at Tarin, then shot the second one toward Shin. If this was going to be a war of the sexes, Lee was going to make sure she got her shots in.

"Ack!" Arielle squealed being pelted by one of Tarin's snowballs. She laughed while taking a minute to dust the cold substance from her jacket. Apparently all that was needed was a minute for Shin to shimmy from under her and join Tarin's side of the field. That was just fine. If it was a gender war that they wanted, Arielle had absolutely no problem delivering.
"It is so on..." the brazilian grinned and took a position not too far from Lee and grinned deviously watching the slightly older woman hurl snowballs at the guys. "It's time you remember who the superior sex is. There's a reason why the saying girl's rule and boys drool came into existence. Let me show you why!" she laughed forming two snowballs of her own and hurling them towards Tarin and Shin.

“Hiyaaaah~” Shin ducked under Lee’s snowball, then shifted the weight of his body to punch the incoming shot from Arielle. That sphere of white erupted into a fine powder on his glove, then he took a step back, scooping up some more. “Thanks for the save back there,” Shin said as he moved to another clump of snow by Tarin’s side. “I won’t disappoint!” He lobbed his handful in Arielle’s direction, but the clumped ball sailed magnificently off course, towards Lee.

Lee was game, and Tarin grinned as the sides formed up and the opponents began to fill their armories. The other woman, Tarin was going to have to pick up her name. Made a comment about men and women and Tarin laughed, rolling his eyes. "I thought that phrase came around because women can't keep their mouths shut." There was no malice in the jibe and Tarin was grinning like a teenager.
Lee lobbed snowballs at the two of them and for his part, Tarin sidestepped. Shin, on the other hand punched the snowball sent in his direction and Tarin laughed, "Nice!" he commented, but was too busy congratulating his teammate to see the snowballs thrown by the other woman. *Thrwack* the snowball made a wet sound as it smacked into the side of Tarin's head, showering him in snow as it fell to pieces, "Yeah it's on..." he said, winding up and chucking another snowball in the woman's direction as his partner in crime threw one at Lee.
Tarin still had a snowball. Hoping to catch Lee off guard as she tried to doge the first, he threw it, hard. That was the thing about snow. Even as well as this snow packed, it still shattered on impact and there was no change of harm. "There's also a reason they call women the weaker sex!" he called after the hurling ball of crystalline ice.
Lee laughed as she saw, and heard, the snowball hit Tarin in the side of the face. She had seen him in pain before, knew what that looked like, and since this clearly wasn't it, just found the whole thing entertaining.
Snowballs were flying everywhere by this point, hitting people, a couple missing their targets. And it was because of that that Lee missed seeing the snowball coming toward her until the last moment. Not enough time to get fully out of the way, unless she was very obvious about it, but Lee was still able to move enough to deflect it a bit. Just a glancing blow to the shoulder.
Followed a mere moment later by a snowball, a very hard snowball, to the centre of her jacket, along with a comment from Tarin.
"Oh, the weaker sex?" Lee questioned, a wicked grin coming to her face as she dropped to her knees in the snow, that much closer to grabbing snowballs. She might not be able to use her speed, and might not be able to use her strength for actually throwing the snowballs, but did that mean she couldn't use it at all? Tarin was the reason she had all this energy, after all.
Grabbing a handful of snow, Lee brought her hands together once, forming it into a ball, her strength doing all the packing at once. "Since when," she said, throwing the ball toward Tarin, the slightly wicked, teasing grin still on her face as she reached for more snow. "Have I ever-" Throw. Grab more snow. "Been weaker than you?" Throw.
She might not be using as nearly as much speed as she could have been, but packing the snowballs like this was definitely speeding up her throwing.
