The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

A long line stood outside of a dark Grey building, filled with people of all shapes and sizes. Men and women alike were in this line, holding all sorts of papers and applications. However it didn't look as if they were applying for any kind of job they looked far to...distant? Awkward?
Terrified?
They had good reason, today was the day of reckoning, the Mutant Registration Bill had been passed and this first group of Mutants had come voulentary...well most of them. The rest had been dragged here by the Stalker Bots, forced to register under gunpoint.
The process was very long and dragged out, First they had to state their name as well as thier ability in front of the Registration woman who pointed you ether left or right, one side for males and the other for Females.
From there the date of birth was asked as well as very personal questions such as questions about spouses. Then a blood samples was ether taken, but if the mutant hesitated their arm was pinned to the table and the blood extracted by force. A picture was taken, finger prints as wells as retinal scans. This is all while various workers gestured at the mutants rudely, telling them seemingly lies about what would happen to them or their friends they came in with?
But where they lies.
Finally they had to get the Bracelets shackled onto their wrists. They get read their rights such as if they used their powers outside the designated areas or their homes that the bracelet would dig its prods into their wrists and cause mass Electricity to course through them. Then the local authorities or the stalker bots would be alerted and the mutant would be 'relocated.'
Suddenly, a new shipment of mutants where forcibly dragged into the registration line, now it was their turn to be registered and branded for the same persecution that the mutants before them got.

The Resistance is in full swing despite its inner turmoils, with training and missions ( Unexpected harmonies of strife, Operation Skeletons of the Closet, Catching a Stalker) currently underway to smooth the path towards a full camp breakout. Unfortunately, the camps are in full swing too: people are dying every day of starvation and mistreatment at the hands of the guards. The survivors are clinging to hope of help from the outside, but beginning to take matters into their own hands on the inside, as well.
Amidst rising concerns from even the non-mutant public about the current state of things, the government has the audacity to put try and paint a rosy picture on its actions by starting up such charming activities as Develop-Genetically Challenged community service. Further concerns about Congressional wisdom are being raised in the wake of a bloodbath committed by the original Stalker unit.

Since the founding of the Camps, they have been divided into distinct sides for men and women. Now, the climbing death toll has caused the sides to be combined. Will this raise the inmate's spirits and help them organize from the inside, or will they merely share their misery?
Meanwhile, the Church of Humanity was dealt a heavy blow in a night of carnage as one of their own members revealed his true nature and tore through their leading council's ranks. His whole-sale slaughter was interrupted, though, as another creature from myth made its entrance to the MRO scene. The immortal evil is nothing but a young whipper-snapper compared to the immortal good: End Game.
With the main supporters for the Registrations Law licking their wounds and the catching a Stalker mission in progress, there may just be an end to all of this in sight. Potentially.

The breakout has begun!
Stage 0: Spreading the Good News (done mostly OOC) -- Key inmates and collaborators have been informed of the plans. They stand ready to act, from both outside and in the Camps.
Stage 0 Threads:
Camps Training -- The inmates gather in Group Confinement to get prepared for the coming breakout; Sonya (wearing a Doug skin) confirms that the date has been set. Fancy Meeting You Here -- Day of the raid; Rupert and Lee meet in Rup's office.
Stage 1: The Air Drop -- Planes from Mondragon Labs have airdropped in the first wave of Resistance fighters. Their aim: create enough chaos to lure the Stalkers away from the inmates. A lone sniper has set up position with his crosshairs on the guards, as well...
Stage 2: Ground Assault -- As most of the Stalkers were being distracted by the air-dropped chaos-causers of Stage 1, a line of Resistance tanks was moving in to take advantage of their absence. The gates to the Camps have been blown open, and the Resistance is pouring in to get the inmates out...
Stage 3: Retreat -- As the were-vamp bellows, so do Inmates and Resistance members alike listen: the retreat has been called! Armored personal carriers are waiting to take everyone back to the Labs for some much needed R 'n' R.
Meanwhile, at the Labs... The Last Stand: Katrina, Iris, and Calley get a little more excitement then they'd bargained for when not participating in the Breakout leads to an encounter with a young immortal out for blood... That, and the Mansion gets destroyed. Again.

Since the opening of the New York State Detention Center for Dangerous Mutants, shortly after the passing of the Mutant Registration Act, there had been little media coverage of the “camps” that were springing up around the country. Under pressure from the government, the media spent months portraying mutant crimes and trying to paint a picture of mutants as villains, law breakers, thieves, terrorists, and murders in the minds of the masses. People knew about the camps, but most of the everyday people thought that the mutants who had been placed there deserved what they got.
The mass outbreak at the New York facility changed things. It was exciting, it was a change from the monotony of Mutants Vandalism: Liberty Attacked! and Mona Lisa Stolen: Authorities Suspect Mutant Activity. Some of the media continued on in the same vein, by portraying the extreme violence of the attacks by the mutants. Others noticed that not all of the mutants fleeing from the scene of the camps were even adults, and began asking why. Then, someone leaked security footage from cameras in the camps showing some of the horrors mutants endured in the camps.
The gears had begun to move.
Approval ratings dropped for politicians who originally supported the bill. Capital hill was abuzz yet again about mutant rights issues. Congress members were hounded by mutant haters and mutant supporters alike, but this time around there were far fewer lobbyists from the Church of Humanity. Some senators received influential visitors, who were able to convince them to avidly support mutant rights. In some cases, Senators and members of the House of Representatives changed their minds one hundred and eighty degrees from their original views, losing the trust of some of their constituents.
The most important gears, however, were moving in the judicial branch of the government. A case, known as Erickson vs. the State of California had been moving up through the courts, and had finally reached the Supreme Court. The case involved a nineteen year old girl who hadn't realized she was a mutant and had lost control of her rather explosive powers. No one had been hurt, but the girl had been captured by a Stalker robot and imprisoned in the Northern California State Detention Center for Dangerous Mutants. The girl's parents sued the state for violating the 1st section of the 14th amendment and the 4th amendment, by depriving the girl of her liberty without due process of the law and without probable cause. She also had not received a speedy public trial, nor had she even been confronted with the charges against her, in violation of the 6th amendment. The 8th amendment was also involved in the case, as the camp in California, like most of the mutant camps, had used cruel and unusual punishment.
A few months ago, the Supreme Court would not have even considered hearing the Erickson case [Erickson v. California, 553 U.S. 580 (2008)], but one of the nine justices had mysteriously died of a supposed heart failure on Easter Sunday, and had a closed casket funeral. His replacement was considerably more progressive. Another justice had completely changed his mind about his views on mutants around the same time and had added his voice to the support of mutant rights. The balance of justice had tipped in mutant's favor.
Three weeks after the outbreak from the New York facility, all eyes were watching the Erickson case, listening for the final decision of the Court. The court had decided, by a vote of 6 to 3, that the Mutant Registration Act was unconstitutional, thereby revoking the law. Every screen in Mondragon Labs was tuned in on the evening of the live announcement of the Supreme Court's decision. As soon as the verdict had been read, the Labs erupted into spontaneous cheers.
The next day, a fleet of coach buses pulled up in front of Mondragon Labs, ready to take all the mutant refugees back to their homes at Xavier's Sister School, the Sanctuary, or other various locations around New York City. After months of living in the Labs or struggling to survive in the camps, everyone was glad to finally be going home.
