The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Luke's eyes remained foggy and expressionless even as his lips quirked up into a slight smile. Naveed actually had to ask whether he was blind or not?
"Yes, I'm afraid that it's true I'm blind." He replied with the slightest chuckle in his voice, "My mutation gives me a sonar that allows me to see although not the way that everyone else sees. And actually, until I started to get to know your sister I didn't realize just how much I wanted to be able to see like everyone else."
The blind man could hear the conversation going on with the two ladies and he knew that Raina was hurting over what had happened on her special day. Knowing that she was suffering made his heart ache deep inside and he did his best to try and keep the mood light by throwing in a little bit of joking and teasing.
"I have to miss out on her beautiful red hair, and that's really a bummer."

“We watched the group for a little while and the Order thinks we stole their doors. That’s why they are fighting, believe me it was hard enough not to deck that Syn woman considering the fact that last time we met she nearly killed me with that haywire crap.”
Raina looked up at Emerald from all of the information she'd just recieved in shock. "Over doors?" she asked with an irritated tone in her voice. "They trashed the place and beat my friends to a pulp over doors?" she stared in disbelief. "well clearly I picked the right side to be on." she balled her hands into fists and chanted in her mind telling herself to not let the tears spill over.
she was in so much shock and anger that she'd almost missed the second part of what Emerald said. Not to mention the fact that she'd just caught the activity on Emeralds hands. At first she was going to comment on the hands but then the first comment creeped up on her. "wait. What?" she asked loudly. "Haywire?" she stared at Em. "was that before I knew you? Were you infected with the haywire virus?"
Raina's only experience with the Haywire virus was that of Iris. She had no idea Emerald had been through anything.
"Yes, I'm afraid that it's true I'm blind." [/i]Answered the blind man to Naveed who sat brudingly looking down on the guy. "My mutation gives me a sonar that allows me to see although not the way that everyone else sees. And actually, until I started to get to know your sister I didn't realize just how much I wanted to be able to see like everyone else."[/i]
He wasn't sure he liked that and the twisted look on his face gave it away. It was weird thinking of a man other than Flloyd talking about Raina that way. Of course, Flloyd was his best friend and he wouldn't mind seeing Raina married off to him... but things there didn't exactly go to plan.
Now, he liked Luke above the cop, and any human for that matter... but his words started to sink in to Naveed. His skull was thick it was true- so it took a considerable amount of time and mental energy for him to process and forumulate his next question.
"So you can see through people's clothing if you want with this sonar?" Naveed wasn't letting Luke away too easily... but he also had no idea what a sonar was.
Ruby was surprised that Raina looked so angry, primarily due to the fact that besides today she had never seen the older female angry. It made the fox girl kind of sad though because it was Raina’s birthday and they were messing everything up for her. The Foxling morphed into her fox pup form scrambling up to Raina’s hand. She nuzzled it gently, trying to get Raina to pet her so that she would feel better. Ruby didn’t know what it was but people tended to feel better after they pet a happy, fluffy fox. Or at least the people she was around did.
Emerald in the meantime noticed Raina’s tensening and probably would have done something similar to the comforting but Ruby beat her to the punch. So she figured she might as well answer Raina’s question about the whole haywire thing. She hadn’t met Raina back then, she was on Tricity’s main strike team for the sanctuary when it happened, unfortunately she remembered a lot of things she did when she was shot up with the crap. Not by her choice but by one of those stupid darts, something she really hated thinking about.
”Before I met you, before Iris went nutzoid in the mansion we attacked the sanctuary when we helped get her out. That’s when she came back here and had that violent reaction im assuming.” Emerald paused and growled a bit, “Freaking Syn shot the haywire Virus at Tricity but Tricity dodged and it hit me instead. It changed me into my third form which is basically an 9 foot tall werewolf that can hurl a bus at someone. Problem is I have never had to much control of this form and with the virus I had even less. Bassically imagine your entire body reforming in less that two minutes and that’s the lovely pain I went through during that Incident.”
Emerald sighed and tried moving her hand again a hiss of pain escaping her lips before she could stop it. “Stupid cold, Stupid frostbite.” She muttered , pain streaking through her.

Luke raised an eyebrow in slight surprise at Naveed's statement but at the same time the corner's of his mouth started to tug in the slightest of smiles.
"I've never had the opportunity to test that, but I suppose it's something I could try. Are you volunteering as the first subject?"
The blind man had momentarily toyed with the idea of asking whether Naveed was offering Raina as a test subject but somehow he didn't think the big man would like the joke. Besides, he had already seen Raina without clothes and even though it might be fun to peak again, he did have the option of simply pulling up those wonderful memories.
"Just kidding Naveed. Honestly when I've been pumped up with adrenaline I've been able to get my sonar to penetrate drywall but I can't see through concrete or metal. I suppose I might be able to see through clothes but without extra adrenaline I doubt I would have the power or control to do that."

Raina grinned at the fox Ruby and couldn't help but scoop her up in her arms and nuzzle the little one. Raina liked animals and missed the sled dogs from back home. Maybe some day she'd adopt one. She'd like that.
"I didn't know that about you." she confessed to Emerald. "I didnt take a lot of time to figure things out about anyone else when I first got here. I only had one mutation and that was more than enough for me. I guess I was going through that self-absorbed side. I wasn't even sure after the Iris thing that I would stay here any longer..." she admitted. "Everything scared me. I didn't like what all the fighting did to people" hearing Em talk about her haywire form made her miss Ted. "I didnt even know Haywire existed back then. No idea what it could do to people. It must have been awful for you."
she eyed Em's hands. "I dont spose Naveed told you the old underarm in legs trick for that?" she laughed. It hurt to laugh. She'd need rest soon if she was to spend the day with Luke tomorrow. She felt a tingle of anticipation in her stomach. She'd almost forgotten about tomorrow.
"I've never had the opportunity to test that, but I suppose it's something I could try. Are you volunteering as the first subject?"
Naveed's face twisted into a desgusted swirl of unease at that comment. Naveed was pretty thick and considering where he came from pretty narrow-minded. In his mind, Luke had just hit on him. "I thought you liked my sister?" he spat feeling absolutley repulsed and pushed his chair back a bit away from him. What an absolutley awful siggestion.
"Just kidding Naveed. Honestly when I've been pumped up with adrenaline I've been able to get my sonar to penetrate drywall but I can't see through concrete or metal. I suppose I might be able to see through clothes but without extra adrenaline I doubt I would have the power or control to do that."
He still wasn't sure he was buying it. Feeling completley grossed out he tried to regain some of his pride. Was he going to let a blind guy in a hospital bed push him around like this? "Plenty of ways to get the adrenaline pumping around here." he commented. Maybe if he was lucky Luke would take his previous comment as a joke and not realize Naveed had honestly thought Luke was serious. However his comment about adrenaline could be taken a few ways. He eyed Luke. "You feeling any better?" his big attempt to be/sound sincere.
Ruby smiled a little in her fox form nuzzling Raina back snuggling against the older girl. The Fox girl let out a happy bark and then licked the older girls face slightly, nuzzling her again contently as she wrapping her tail around her body. She looked up at Raina as se spoke, listening with great interest. Ruby didn’t think miss Raina was selfish at all, she thought she was nice, though Ruby had learned that in many cases she wasn’t exactly the best judge of character.
”Im sure you weren’t selfish, you were just scared, you didn’t know what was going on and you had ever right to be freaked out.” Emerald explained to Raina, her voice surprisingly not growling but changed to a reassuring one. She looked down at her frost bite for a moment before looking back up at Raina, “You alright? You got pretty badly hurt out there and you have no idea how much I wanna kick some major ass because of that. Im only in here because im worried about you and because Ruby doesn’t want me to fight, “a small glance to the fox girl was given, watching as she continued to aimlessly be a puppy “That’s usually the only reason I don’t fight.”
Ruby in the mean time had proceeded to wiggle her way close to Raina and aimlessly tried to catch her tail. It was actually quite adorable she seemed so happy and care free when she was in that form. Which was always good, considering the fact the person she was trying to cheer up was usually the person she wanted to be care free.
”Oh, and your brother did tell me about the under arm trick. But I prefer to use the water, primarily because that is my element anyways.” The wolf girl smiled lightly, wiggling her fingers in the bowl, causing the water to move about as is if it was in a miniature ocean, with waves moving back and forth. But Em wasn’t moving her hands, which were now recovering from the frost bit, all that much. “Oh and the haywire virus was bad, but I usually cant control my third form anyways so really it was almost Routine for me. I have my big sister to thank for that form anyways.” Emerald grumbled a little before she noticeable lightened up when Ruby caught her tail and fell ontop the stretcher with a small thud. “God she is like a puppy always trying to cheer people up and its working for me.”

Naveed's reaction to Luke's statement was quite obviously and mentally the blind man slapped himself for even attempting humor with someone he didn't know at all. "Great move Luke... wonderful. That is not the image I wanted to put in his head."
"Since I'm no longer losing blood I'm feeling a lot better." Luke replied as he leaned back against the pillows and basically just stared off into space, "Still tired though so apparently the Doc Prof doesn't refill your energy bar when he's healing you."
Thinking back Luke could remember only one time when he had felt more tired then this... the day that Raina had saved him from drowning because of a faulty scuba tank. That day he had felt so weak while laying there on the beach that he had wondered if he would ever get his strength back. He wasn't feeling as weak at this moment but he deffinately wasn't ready to get back into the fight outside.
"What's so special about those doors anyway? Forgive me for not understanding the situation but I don't get why someone would fight over a pair of doors."

Raina smiled. "I'm feeling much better. I didn't really get hurt... Naveed took the blunt of it for me with his head. Good thick head like his is a great thing to have around... once in a while." she winked and scratched Ruby behind the ears. "I just used too much energy. Tapped into it in a way I haven't done much before. So I'm just depeleted for a while." she admitted.
"I'm glad you survived the Haywire fiasco. I'm glad your hand is good in the water too." She smiled at Em. She thought back to when they first met and how intimidated by Em she was. Em was totally more a friend now. Raina felt like she could really trust her.
"Still tired though so apparently the Doc Prof doesn't refill your energy bar when he's healing you."
Her ears drifted in on Luke's conversation with her brother.
"he most certainly doesnt!" she called. "That's what days off are for!" she said reminding him of their plans for the next day. "You can't bail on me just because you had a near death experieince." she teased knowing she'd never really hold anything like that against him.
“Oh Jesus, the doors are made from solid gold and it makes the order feel how much better they are than everyone else.” Emerald rolled her eyes, letting out a sigh. A small smile crept across her face, tail wagging back and forth. “Maybe I should go throw those far away from us.”
Ruby looked up at Raina gleefully, her tail swishing back and forth. She nuzzled the older girls hands, batting at them with her paws playfully as she looked up at her.
Emerald glanced over at Raina, “Maybe we should go get you a puppy or something.” Emerald told her with a dead serious look on her face. "I dunno you seem to be good at takeing care of Ruby maybe you need a pup of your own to take your mind offf of the more complicated things in your life."
Emerald had to say she had really grown rather attached to Raina as a older sister/friend figure in her life and she was really glad she had mether. It was a really good thing in her opinion and she kinda hoped that the older girl felt the same way. THere was a pause before she glanced over at Luke. "Oh Luke by the way if you hurt Raina in any way while you are dating her I will rip a piece of coral from a reef and beat you with it."
Naveed raised an eyebrow. "Again I marvel at the damage done over doors?" he shook his head and stood up to survey the room and Raina's condition. "You're both looking much better." he commented. "...going to sleep like logs but hopefully you wont be anymore than stiff in the morning." he turned a glance to Emerald and Ruby. "I'll trust you'll both see Raina off to her room when she's able?" he requested turning back to Luke. "I can give you a ride home if you like." he wasn't saying it intimidatingly... or at least he was trying not to. He just felt bad for the guy and prospective boyfriend for Raina or not he wouldn't let him try to make his own way home after being through so much.

It was amazing that all of this carnage and mayhem could be caused by a thing like two doors. Luke couldn't think of any things... any objects that were worth dieing for. There were people that were worth dieing for, but not things. And it was obvious that Miss Emerald believed the same as she felt Raina was important enough to make threats over. Now the question was how to best answer that... there was no way he was going to hurt Raina, but how could he convey that feeling to someone else?
"I can give you a ride home if you like." Naveed's voice broke through his reverie.
"If the fightings all done then this probably would be a good time to slip away." Luke admitted sat up and slowly swiveled so that his legs would hang off of the edge of the bed. Ignoring the headache that was already beginning to pound Luke got to his feet and walked over to Raina. Offering her a quick smile, Luke reached out and gave her hand a light squeeze. "We'll see about making tomorrow a better day... sweet dreams Raina."
Releasing her hand Luke turned his attention to the two canine female, "Thank you very much for the help out there ladies. Hopefully I'll see you both again sometime." And now was the moment... Em deserved an answer and Luke wasn't one to back down either. Focusing his attention completely on the older sister, Luke let his face take on a serious expression so that she would know he wasn't joking or playing around.
"If I ever hurt Raina, I'll stand still and let you beat me with that coral. I might even help you pick it out." Luke's voice was quiet but completely serious, "I'm not some player that out to... get in as many skirts as I can. I care about her and I'm not going to hurt her."
After remaining still for several moments, just to make sure that Em got what he was saying, Luke pivoted and walked over to Naveed, doing his best to keep his form strong so that Raina wouldn't know just how tired he really was. "I'm ready when you are Naveed."

Raina raised an eyebrow when Emerald commented about getting a puppy. "That's not such a bad idea... I'm busy this weekend." she said thinking of Luke. "but maybe afterwards." she chimed in. "If the mansion will allow it..."
It was then that there was a brief exchange between Emerald and Luke about being beat in the head with Coral. There was a comedic tone to it but also a slight underbelly of real threat and truth. Raina stayed quiet and resisted laughing, or frowning and getting worried. She'd let that one be just that.
As Naveed approached to make an observation of her she yanked on his arm pulling him down to her size. "Thanks for getting hit in the face for me bro." she carefully kissed his sore spot. Then Luke gave her hand a squeeze. "Get him home safely." she lectured. "If I hear any shenanegans I'm coming after you." she threatened to Naveed. "Bye Luke." she bushed a little. "Em and Ruby will take care of me." she promised them both. "They always have and they always will. I'll be fine."
Naveed was relieved that Luke agreed to let him give him a ride home. He remembered though that he'd swiped Flloyd's bike to get here and made a mental note that he'd just get a cab instead and make sure Luke got home safely. "As you can see..." he began as Raina gave him a tug and a kiss. "Raina rubs off on me. But don't tell anyone." he smerked. "Next time I see you I'm going out of my way to be a jerk to make up for all this 'niceness'." once Luke was to his feet Naveed bobbed his head to each lady in the room and gave a wave. "Stay well. Be safe. You'll hear from me eventually. I'll visit you at work maybe." he said to Raina.
With that he turned and led Luke to the main hall of the mansion where they'd wait for the cab and ride to his place in silence in which Naveed would completley forget the next day where the place was.
