The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"You, get annoyed with me?" Lee scoffed slightly. "I doubt that, Sam. I mean, how could you get annoyed with me?"
But then he went on to comment about her siphoning again, claiming that he had more than enough energy to not feel it. The teasing and joking mostly disappeared from Lee's face at that comment as she looked at Sam. "You haven't even really felt it, yet," Lee whispered. "It can be so much stronger than you've felt, it used to be stronger all the time..."
Sam continued, though it seemed it was now his turn to drop his eyes to the table. If he really wasn't, that was good; Lee didn't want to know what he'd have been saying about their kiss if he had been the kind to kiss and tell. "I'm the one with her mind in the gutter?" Lee questioned, her eyebrows shooting up in slight surprise. "If it is, it must be because of you, cause it's not normally."
Sam wished he had a brother. Well, back when things had been good with her family, it had been awesome having an older brother. And a younger brother and sister, but mostly the older brother since she and Bobby had been pretty much best friends.
"Brother's intuition is always right?" Lee questioned. "If that were true, then I'd be a helpless child who needs someone to take care of her 24-7. Clearly that's not the case, but he can't seem to get it through his mind that I'm not 16 any more."

“Well Lee on a different day after I have rested I am more than willing to feel the effects of your siphoning, to it’s max setting.” He was curious to see why it had been so hard to for Lee to get close to people and if she could pull as much energy as she made it sound she could potentially kill some one and run off their energy for a few days. The thought intrigued Sam.
Grinning he said, “And yes I do have that effect of putting peoples minds in the gutter, call it a curse but it doesn't mean I don’t get a kick out of telling people to get there head out of there.” He let out a snicker and then gave Lee a look, “Sides they say girls have a dirtier mind than guys, so maybe your head is always in there and your starting to feel guilty about it so your going to blame the innocent me.”
Shrugging Sam gave Lee a look like he thought she was lucky, “Still he cares for his sister who is a mutant… something to be said these days, and there are a lot of kids at the mansion who wished they had a sibling like that.” Not to long ago Sam helped a little girl move into the mansion that was abused not only by her parents but, by her two older brothers, it was a sad story. It was something Sam didn’t feel like bringing up at this cheery conversation.
"Then you're an idiot," Lee whispered. Her voice wasn't mean or harsh, though. It was more sad than anything. "Only reason I couldn't stop Tarin's merge before you got there was because I couldn't touch him...
"And even if I were going to try it," Lee continued, her voice still a whisper. "There's no way I'd try to do it as strong and as long as possible. I'm not sure if it would, but I'm not going to risk killing you..."
Wow, that killed the mood, didn't it? The same could be said about talking about Robert, and Lee shook her head. "I think he's more guilty than anything," Lee informed Sam. "He didn't used to care. He shunned me just like our parents when we found out, and he had been my best friend before that."
Yeah, Lee felt like the happy, teasing mood she had been in was gone after that little talk about her powers and her brother. And other than being knocked to the floor and her coffee being spilt, the day had been going so well.
"Ok, I think we need to find something happier to talk about, Sam," Lee informed the man across from her. "Otherwise, I'm going to have to go and work with people who want to talk to the dead in order to cheer myself up."

Laughing at Lee’s last comment Sam felt a bit uncomfortable, “Now that is a downer topic!” said Sam with a smile, “Dead are dead for a reason… think it’s just creepy to talk to them.” Said Sam with a shiver.
Sam was a little surprised by the sudden negative energy he was getting from the direction of the conversation. He had to think of something fast other wise it would be a bad note to end things on. Thing of possible conversation topics Sam thought of one, one he was proud on. “You still thinking bout coming to the mansion?” asked Sam curiously.
He waited for her answer then blurted out, “Just got two jobs there and I have been promoted to a full fledged X-men.” Sam sounded like a kid showing off his new toys. Which he figured he had every right to show off after all he worked hard for those jobs.
"Yeah, it can be rather freaky," Lee said. "Most people don't understand that, though, since they don't see the real thing."
But again, that really wasn't the greatest topic of conversation. Lee thinking about talking to spirits would lead her to thinking about merges, such as those with spirits, and how many times that she had almost been killed during those...
Sam finally went on to change the subject, to ask if she was still thinking about coming by the mansion again. After taking a moment to think, Lee nodded, but didn't get anything else out before Sam continued, saying that he'd gotten a couple jobs there very recently.
"Really?" Lee asked. "That's awesome, Sam! Though, if that's why you're not sleeping, maybe you should cut down a bit. I know that especially someone like you needs to keep busy to stay out of trouble, but that might be taking things a bit far."
Giving Sam a smile to show that she was teasing, Lee thought for another moment before continuing again. "But yeah, it'd be cool if you could show me around the mansion sometime."

A laugh turned into a yawn and then Sam asked, “What’s that supposed to mean? I don’t go looking for trouble, trouble finds me!” Sam then smiled for he knew what she was talking about, even if she was joking Sam did have a knack for getting in trouble may it be with women or bad guys Sam was like a magnet for the robbers he however searched out the women.
Sam nodded “yeah stop by anytime and ask for me, getting an office there too so I can show you that as well!” Sam said with a grin, “But,” letting out a large yawn Sam got up and said, “think I should get going after I grab the cup of coffee,”
Sam stood still for a second debating if he should just wave to Lee or hug her or give her a hand shake good bye, ‘she had never been a fan of touching’ thought Sam as he awkwardly stood feet from Lee.
"It means what it means," Lee said with a smile. It wasn't her fault that Sam could get into trouble on a regular basis.
Sam was now telling her to stop by any time, to just ask for him. And that he was getting an office to go with the jobs he had at the mansion. At least now she knew how to get to the mansion, now. "I'll see what I can do and stop by soon," Lee said with a smile as Sam stood up. He really was appearing more and more tired as each minute passed. "We are getting rather busy at the shop, but I'm sure I can figure something out."
Standing up as well, her coffee cup in one hand, Lee stepped halfway around the table. "It was great seeing you again, Sam. Go get some sleep. Looks like you really need it."
