The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Three Chi coins, bouncing in his pocket. The gritty sidewalk underfoot, a gristly paddle from his Chuck Taylor's. The street welcomed him home, if even for a brief visit. Here he stood, six months later, in front of the same building he had first stood near. The two Garretts were at once unrecognizable and inseparable. The golden doors were not there, a temporary entranceway already constructed to protect the inside from the elements.
The night before saw those doors. It saw a night of violence and power. It saw a new race of beings, fighting each other when the real threat surrounded them on all sides, giving no quarter. He had learned much about himself at the Mansion. His world had been expanded with the kiss of the dart. Of course, there was Maya and Neena as well. Many faces. His resolve remained pure.
He stepped in through the doors, only wearing the clothes on his back and a few things in a suitcase. Much of his possessions remained in his room. He had left no tearful goodbyes or notes of regret. He merely packed up and left. It was that easy. The foyer of the Sanctuary befitted its actual depth. A young lady could be seen working behind a desk. She was more than a secretary, that was certain.
"Hello, Garrett Wills to see Aelly Ssyn." The young woman smiled and simply replied," She's expecting you?" Garrett smiled and sat in a large comfortable chair, his suitcase on the floor by its side. " I think she will want to see me. I am Seizure, one of her byproducts."
Lisa looked the man over for a moment. She didn't recognize him at all. Nor did she know his name. None of that compared to her bewilderment at the man knowing Syn's true name. From what she knew only a couple people knew of Syn's real name. "What exactly do you mean by a byproduct?"
The secretary seemed to be caught off guard at the mention of Syn's full name. He would explain whatever they liked in due time. First it was crucial to get his foot in the door. He had never thought of the possibility that it wasn't her name. Crystal had given him the dots and he had connected them. He thought to himself of the many people who had come through these doors. Had they simply knocked and waited patiently? Had they sat in the very chair he was now seated in, filling out banal paperwork as they hoped for the best? This was destiny in motion. There was no time for timid behavior.
" Oh, yes, of course. Well, I do believe you know of the Mansion and its residents? Well, I was one. A dart filled with a solution that I can only assume came from here, which would, by proxy, lead me to believe that she knows of it if she didn't create it herself. Hence, a byproduct. I do believe that she would be interested in speaking with me, as I would like to stay here and work here." That seemed to be more than enough information for a secretary. If she was one at all. Perhaps even the help was powered. It was interesting thought for Seizure as he looked her over.
A voice echoed from the hallway the leads to the cafeteria and recreation areas. "You are most mistaken in your information. No darts filled with a solution come from here. Here we house those who are unwelcome at Xavier's Sister School or anywhere else. Here we are a family and we look out for one another." Syn looked the man over as she approached. "So, Seizure, former mansion resident. You wish to stay with and work with us?"
The voice echoed through the halls behind him, denying any darts or solutions therein. It wasn't a great shock to Garrett, as even if it were the truth, if she verified his story outright, she wouldn't be much of a leader. Standing from the chair once he heard her approach, he stood and saw her. She seemed a bit small. She definitely seemed smaller than the woman he had seen on the grounds the night prior, fighting hard. Looks were always deceibing, something he had learned early around the mutants at the Mansion. She was definitely the alpha here, her words of command and encouragement to her troops at the battle had verified that.
Garrett nodded and wiped his sweaty palms on his pants. " Work? Yes, I definitely need work and want to do so here. Live? Well, I am newly homeless, so I suppose a room would do. What kind of work would I be doing?" He smirked and shook his head as he approached the young woman. " My apologies, my name is Garrett Wills a.k.a. Seizure." His hand stretched out to greet his new employer.
The man stood up and directed himself to Syn. She watched him as he spoke. Watching his gestures and body language. From what she could tell he didn't seem to be on some sort of revenge mission. Though if he was then he was hiding it quite well. She wasn't showing any fear so if he was her to attack her she would show him that she isn't affraid.
"Let me ask you a couple questions first. What are your feelings about your fellow mutants at the mansion as well as those here? What are your feelings towards the humans? Depending on your answers we will see what sort of work we can find for you." Syn didn't recall seeing Seizure when they were at the mansion. Perhaps he just wasn't in her field of view during the time there. "I do have another question for you. Who has told you of me?"
Syn stopped walking toward him. His hand lingered for a moment and then found its place by his side. Her eyes and posture, but to Garrett, her eyes told him that she did not regard him as a threat and seemed to welcome him. However, the inevitable questions had to be asked. He hadn't prepared for this moment, yet it seemed quite familiar. He felt truly at peace with himself, as if his true face was unmasked for once in his life. He smiled slightly, just enough for the corners of his mouth to turn.
"Let me ask you a couple questions first. What are your feelings about your fellow mutants at the mansion as well as those here? What are your feelings towards the humans? Depending on your answers we will see what sort of work we can find for you." She did indeed have some heavy hitters right away. Garrett respected that. " Mutants are classified as Homo superior for a reason. Humans are no more like us than we are to primeval man, poor Homo erectus. Grunting for fire, expressing socialization, ...but barely. To me, the humans are little more than a representation of a necessary step in its evolution. Our evolution."
His hands went into his pockets as he began to speak. His eyes would flash to Syn and to Lisa, assuring them that he was indeed speaking to them, not merely going on some rant. The fire in his voice was slow and simmering, but it was present. " The mutants at the Mansion are too wrapped up in themselves. These times are dangerous! It hasn't even been a full year since the camps. Now we are supposed to embrace and accept those who tortured and manipulated us? No, no that is not for me. It was their way of attempting to cull the herd, so to speak. To keep our numbers manageable, easier to control. Evolution cannot be stopped. All of us are the same species, the same race. Fighting each other is only what the humans want. It keeps us out of their backyards. Their time is coming, Sisters."
He had worked up a noticeable sweat. It was running in his eyes since he had no hair to slow or stop its progress over his smooth domed head. He pulled a handkerchief out and dabbed and wiped it away, replacing the linen to his pocket. " My apologies. I have been holding my feelings in on the subject for some time. As far as how I knew of you, I met a..person, f you wish to call it that, named Crystal. She told me what was public record about King Pharmaceuticals, Dorian King and yourself. I was researching the origin of the solution inside that dart, and it led to you. Perhaps you aren't the source, but you know who is. Anyway, that about sums it up. What else?"
When Seizure spoke about how he viewed mutants to humans Syn smiled on the inside. His views matched right along with hers and just about everyone else's in Sanctuary. It was also good to hear how the mansion people tried to control their own. That was certainly new and interesting. "Your thoughts are the same as our own. We know we are superior to the humans and we will be the ones to put them in their place. As for your knowledge of me it is correct. Dorian King started this wonderful place and has left it in my care."
Syn purposefully left out any comment to the dart or the solution the man mentioned. Instead she focused on his internal drive and how he may be of use. "So is that all you know of me then?" The girl paused for a moment to allow for a response. "I'm curious as to what talents you have and how they may aid us."
"Your thoughts are the same as our own. We know we are superior to the humans and we will be the ones to put them in their place. As for your knowledge of me it is correct. Dorian King started this wonderful place and has left it in my care." Crystal was reliable then. Good to know. Garrett listened with his ears and eyes as the young woman continued to speak."So is that all you know of me then?" Garrett nodded in response." If you mean my knowledge of your gifts, I have no idea. I assume you are quite powerful though, as I know what Tricity does and you went straight for her. If the power levels are similar, I would assume you are in charge of the place for a reason." Short and sweet. Speak like a prodigy to become one.
"I'm curious as to what talents you have and how they may aid us." Getting to know you talk was the same wherever a mutant traveled. " My gift is that of neural manipulation. I must touch someone once to see their nervous system inside their body and then I can cause all sorts of effects. I am most well known for pain and seizures though. I feel this is the raw base of my mutation and with refinement, I can cultivate its true potential. By proxy, I can also desensitize someone and numb their pain, though I am not so practiced with it as of yet." He added." I'm also excellent with Feng Shui design." Part humor, part genuine concern for the energy flow of the foyer.
His comment regarding the fact that Syn had gone straight for Tricity did get a reaction as Syn smiled. "You are correct in your determination. I do hold a certain level of power here other than the fact that I was chosen to run things."
Syn listened to Seizure's description of his abilities. They sounded dreadfully delightful. "Well, the humans deserve all the pain in the world for what they've done to us and still try to do to us. I welcome you and your talent." Now Syn offers her own hand to Seizure.
Syn echoed Garrett's internal dialogue concerning her status as the head of things. She seemed quite pleasant to him and he couldn't imagine why the Mansion kids were so frightened of her. Anyone could be a threat given the right circumstances. The secretary seemed to be at ease, returning to her tasks at her desk. Her clear avoidance of the talk about the dart was as clear a message as anything she could have spoken. Garrett needed more of it.
After speaking of his gifts and their own evolutions, Garrett could see sheer delight in Syn's eyes at the apparent uses of his abilities."Well, the humans deserve all the pain in the world for what they've done to us and still try to do to us. I welcome you and your talent." Garrett smiled, seeing her hand extend out to him as a welcoming gesture. He outstretched his own and made contact. Her grip was firm, yet it seemed to hold a tension as if it could pulverize his bones if that was the intention. It wasn't, however. She was as pleasant as could be. Garrett stepped in a little close, but not too close. " I look forward to a long string of successes between us. " In a hushed tone, he asked," Could we meet sometime in a more private setting to talk about it?" He withdrew his distance and his hand, while her gleaming strands of nervous fibers knitted itself before his eyes. She knew just what he meant.
Syn smiled at the hand shake and at Seizure's response. "Just let me know when you'd like to talk again and I will do my best to be available." Hopefully having the man join would be a great asset to the Order. Time would tell.
