The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Geo walked into he Rec Room at the sanctuary, he wore his hair up and a wife beater covered by a denim jack and a dair of dark blue jeans. A large green pair of headphones sat on his head, connected to an MP3 player in his poket and a cigrette in his mouth.
He walked up to one of the empty pool table and cracked his neck. He removed a black poolstick from the wall and the triangle. He threw them both on the table and crouched down and began to place the balls on the table.
He had been really bored today, he had no work in the garage, he was getting barley any action recently, things just seemed to be all on pause nowadays so he decided to pick up on his old hobbie.
With all the balls on the table now he stood up and placed them all in the triangle and arranged them accordingly. He slid the triangle up to the far end of the table and straightened it out and hung the triangle on the wall. Geo grabbed the poolstick and the que ball and walked to the opposite end of the pool. He took a long drag from his cigrette and lined up his stick and shot at the group of balls breaking them apart with a loud 'Crack!'
Aura gathered her hair into a tight braid behind her and emerged from her room, she had been at Sanctuary almost three weeks now. As she walked down a few hallways she soon came to the recreation room door. Still this was an area she had never ended up and she could not imagine why. She wore a black sweater and jeans and other then that was unadorned.
She saw one other in the room an older male, started to set up the pool table, Aura vaguely recalled seeing a pool table once somewhere, but the game itself was a mystery to her, and not for the first time since coming back, did she wonder just how much she had missed those years in the forests. What had passed had passed and aura reminded herself none of that matterd any more.
"Hello" she said as she watched the man break, though she was unsure if he could hear her, regardless she leaned up against the wall and watched with her green eyes, as she leaned, her aura danced first illuminating around one finger then the next, a practice technique to help her learn control, which was now somewhat mute.
Geo stood straight after breaking, he walked around the table twice, examining the set up before seeing the other person standing against the wall. He hadn't heard her earlier. She was attractive, and young, maybe several years younger then Geo. He pulled his headphones off of his head and approached the girl, leaving his game behind but que still in hand.
"Hi, I'm Geo. I don't think I've seen you around here before." Geo pulled on one of his famous charming smile as his natural deep alluring voice escaped through his lips.
She watched as the older order member approached her, he brought the stick over as well, which Aura looked over with her emerald colored eyes, she had an idea of what this was but still her eyes had been drawn to it to make sure it was of no threat. It was a good habit to have she thought because you never knew just what to expect.
"I am Aura, i am new to this place, so that is likely the reason we have not met. Dragon King helped me out about three weeks ago and the rest is as you see" She said calmly, though she did return his smile. "I am meeting new people here all the time, and it is nice to be away from those filthy humans" She said pushing off of the wall and moving closer to Geo. "I returned to New York city just to years ago" she went on explaining further why they had never met.
Geo stared blankly at the girl as he received much more information then he expected. Hesitating, he blinked taking in all the information. "Well it's always good to see a new face in our cause, Aura. D.K.'s a good man, I only met him once though." He ran his hand through his hair, a habit of his, then twirled the que in between his fingers. He held the stick forward towards the girl, offering it up for her to take. "Do you want to play a pick up game?" He asked, returning the charming smile to his face.
"Never played the game" she said as she took the stick in her hand with a firm grip. She kept the grip that it was handed to her in. The basics of the game seemed simple enough, hit the balls with the stick, but their had to be more to this game or two people would not be able to play it. She had been surprised over just how little combat occurred in this city, perhapse however their were other ways to channel such energy,
"I am willing to give it a try however, my guess is a hit the balls with the stick, however i am guessing their is more" she said, their was no question just the statement, still she walked past him looking over the table and balls. "Have you played this game long?" she asked curiously, smiling back to gim, his charming smile was nice, she had to admit.
Geo watched as Aura took the stick from him and held it in her hand, he could tell that it was foreign to her by the way she held it. "Don't worry," He began walking up behind her. "Geo will teach you how it's done." He then walked over to the wall and took another stick off the wall, twirling it in his hand. "You want to try and get all of the stripped balls into the holes, I'll take the solid. You want to hit the white ball into them, angles are very important in this game." He lined his que up with the white ball, showing Aura how to hold the stick in her hand and then pushed the que ball forward, gently knocking the solid orange ball into the corner pocket.
"I've been playing since I was eight, so almost ten years." He walked around the table to lean up against it next to Aura, incase she needed help.
"Sounds simple, enough" Aura said overlooking the table, though angles had never really been her thing. She had been failing math, even before she had left school. The game was basically as simple as she had assumed rule wise, however she guessed it would be some what harder to actually play. "Makes sense" she said as she watched him make his shot. She looked at how he had held the ball and made the shot, walking to the table, she lined up her shot and as with combat she let her instincts take over, and bringing the stick back, she blasted the que ball with much to much power, as it struck her intended brown striped ball, the ball hit the pocket came back out and spun a bit before settling about an inch from the pocket. "Ten Years..." She said realizing that was most of her life and that he was either seventeen or eighteen, his phrasing kept her from getting an exact answer. She tried to consider why the ball had not gone in, maybe she needed to hit it harder she thought.
Geo ducked out of the way as Aura shot, she hit the ball with such intensity that he had assumed it would fly off of the table. "Easy Killer!" He exclaimed after realizing he was in no danger. "You have to ease the ball into the pocket, don't force it." Geo wrapped his index finger around the end of his que as he lined up his shot for the solid blue ball. "And try not to hit the black ball, if you get it in before the rest of your balls then you lose." He gently tapped the que ball which banked off the bumper and tapped the blue ball into the side pocket.
Aura looked over at Geo as he got excited, telling her to take it easier, she was unsure how a softer shot would produce better results though. She had to ease the ball in, she reminded herself as she watched Geo take his shot it was much softer and the ball did go just whare he wanted it to. "I think i see, the easier the shot the more chance you have of it going in" She said almost more to herself then to geo. "So the eight ball is special, i was curious on why the number of ball were uneven" she said looking over the table, she decided to go for what looked to be an easy shot, lining it up, she hit the Que slightly off centor, it knocked the ball in and set the Que directly against the edge of the table. "That does work much better" She comments as she stepped away from the table, this game could prove to be rather interesting.
Geo raised his eyebrow as Aura's face showed that she was deep in shot. "Well you have to judge the shot depending on how close it is." He walked over to where Aura stood and placed his que on the table. He pointed to the orange striped ball sitting just outside the corner pocket. "For this shot you want to use a soft touch." He simulate the shot with his hands. Then he pointed to a ball in the center of the table. "And for this shot you'd want to put some power behind it." He then waved his hand from Aura to the table signifying that she could take another turn.
So the strategy changed depending on the location of the opponent she thought to herself as Geo Described how to make several different shots. It was a bit like combat in a way and making that comparison helped aura to understand it a bit better. Aura nodded to him as she walked to the side of the table and decided to try the shot, geo had said to put power behind. Aura decided to do just that only this time she hit the ball slightly to low, propelling the ball into the air, the ball landed with a loud thud next to her intended pocket, the ball did not move after it's landing content to stay bound to the table. The game was easily more variable then she had thought it could be. "This game seems like it could be rather dangerous, that Que ball sounds hard enough to break a jaw if used right" she commented her attention shifting a bit as she consider the possible use as a weapon.
"So if, don't mind me asking, why did you choose to come here, Im sure we all have our stories" She said more curious then anything. She liked stories and seeing how the connections made them end up whare they were in life. She also knew from talking to some of the mutants here, that most had their stories and some just did not wish to talk about them, which was fine, she was just trying to make conversation anyway.
Geo watched and restrained a chuckle as he could tell Aura was struggling so much with the game. He leaned up against the table, deciding to disregard the game for a bit while he spoke to Aura. "Well I originally lived at the X-mansion for a few weeks before I decided to go independent. Then when the humans passed the registration act I joined the resistance, I met an order member there and they recruited me. I've been here ever since." He sighed and ruffled his hair. "Whats your story?"
"When my powers emerged i was in a fight with another girl at school, my aura manifested into a blade when i punched, so my parents let the police take me to a cell, i broke out but had nowhere to go. Until a mysterious woman in white found me, offering me a job as a bodyguard with other Mutants my age. Upon the promise of food and lodging i accepted. We spent over two years in the Forests Of Canada fighting off Humans who were after Miracle. About 6 months ago however my team was completely wiped out and so i came to the city and Encountered an Ice man names Sam who wanted me to talk to the police and the rest after that i mentioned" She said calmly. "These things happen though and all i can do is to ensure the human race falls" She said as an after thought maintaining the calmness in her voice.
"I have heard of that registration act, it sounds as though it was pretty bad. I heard camps mentioned as well, maybe that was why they were after her" she said thinking about it but then would they not have been after the kids as well. Their target had always been miracle, she was pretty sure they would have just let her go if they got her.
Geo listened in awe as Aura told him her story. It sounded like something out of a comic book, until the mention of an Ice mutant named Sam. Damn it, this guy shows up everywhere! His rival over at the mansion and he seems to have a relationship with every girl he meets. Boyfriend to Leila, friend to Arie and god knows what to Aura. he couldn't help but curl his lip a brief moment at the mention of his name. He shook his head to clear the thought then smiled at Aura. "Yeah my powers manifested in a school fight too. Wow that feels like a hundred years ago."
