The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Come, William, you wouldn't want to be late getting to the mansion, now would you?" Mr. Gregory, or Gregorgy, as Psycho called him, was sitting in the back seat of the police cruiser with Psycho. They were riding to the sister school of the X-Mansion, and Psycho was none-too-thrilled. "Actually, Gregorgy, yes I would. Why don't we take a stop at Starbucks, or something. I'm thirsty. And it's Psycho. P-S-Y-K-O. Learn it." Psycho was looking out the windowsill, wishing he had his Mp3 player so he could drown out the drone of his social worker with some heavy metal. Even Mr. Gregory's mind was boring. I hope this kid can turn around. Otherwise, I don't know what I can do for him. My first kid and I get me a convict, geez... Why does he smell so bad? I told him to take a shower... This officer is driving fast, wonder if he's following the speed limit? Boooring. "It's spelled P-S-Y-C-H-O, William, and I'm going to call you by your given name." Psycho sighed and looked out the window. He would say some disturbing thoughts (mentally) to Mr. Gregory and watch him sweat for a while, just to pass the time, but he had already done it three times, and any more would just be redundant. "Whatever." Mr. Gregory sighed, and said "How about this, William. If I give you your Mp3 player back, will you call yourself by your given name?" Psycho sat up quickly, and nodded. Mr. Gregory pulled it out of his pocket and handed it to Psycho, who promptly plugged in and pounded away...
Soon enough they were approaching the gates of the mansion, and Psycho, having run through his entire library of songs, was getting bored. Not just your average everyday bored either, but that deep-seated bored that comes before a big change, in the time during which you are sitting around doing nothing. Finally, he hit on an idea. It took less than half-a-pound of force to mentally unlock the door Mr. Gregory was leaning on, and less still to open it with a quick mental shove. Luckily for Mr. Gregory, the car was slowing down as they approached the front gates of the mansion, so he didn't get much more than a couple of scrapes and bruises, and maybe a fractured rib. Psycho grabbed his bag and shot out of the door, running flat out and using mental force to press the gas pedal down to the floor, accelerating the car up into the area of a hundred miles an hour. Psycho was still running, going parallel with the wall and coming up on the gates. He was planning to make it to the woods and hide out in there until he could make his way to the city.

Streak had been called earlier that week to be informed of a mutant being brought over by the police. Great since when did we become a school for the corrupt kids. He thought as he hung up the phone. Marking it on his calendar he started to prepare the paperwork. He filled out everything he could about the kid that the social worker would give him over the phone.
The day had finally come for the kid to show up. He was a few years younger than Shawn was and he was ready to meet the new kid. The social worker had given Streak a time that they were supposed to be arriving. Shawn started heading down to the mansion gates roughly ten minutes before William was scheduled to arrive. As he got closer to the mansion's gates he saw a police car speeding past briefely like it was out of control. Streak smiled This guys got a sense of humor at least. he thought. Shawn stood at the entrance to the gate and waited for William to show up.
(OOC: Put the thoughts you want Psycho to be able to read in brackets like this: { BLAHBLAHBLAH } )
As he approached the gates, Psycho was struck with an idea. If he could get inside the walls of the mansion and find a safe place to hide in there, the police would never find him. Not even Mr. Gregory would think to look for him in the place he was trying so hard to avoid, and after a couple of hours he could head back to New York City, meet up with some old friends, and be back on the streets in notime. His mind and body fortified and preoccupied by this plan, the thoughts of the man standing just inside the gate where left unnoticed.
When Psycho was about five feet from the gate, he jumped, using a small bit of force to lift him the last couple inches to land his fingers on the top of the wall. He pulled himself up and dropped over the other side, and crouched to absorb the impact. He stood straight, and resumed his full out sprint towards the concealing cover of the woods. So focused was he that he didn't notice Streak and barreled right into him, managing just to keep his feet but losing all of his momentum.

Streak watched the events unfold. He continued to look through the gates for the young man to approach them. Shawn saw the kid land on the other side of the walls. That must be him. Streak thought just before he was run into by aforementioned mutant. The silver eyed man was able to plant his feet firmly to prevent him from falling over when he was hit by the kid. "Oof." He said as he was hit.
{Watch where your going kid.} he thought as he got some space between him and the kid. Although his face didn't reveal any of the thoughts they were clearly readable to anyone who could read thoughts. "You must be William. Welcome to Xavier's School for the Gifted. Come. Walk with me. Talk with me." He said waiting for the kid to get the idea that he was welcome in the mansion and that's where they were going right now. "I'm Shawn by the way. Nice to finally meet you William. " Streak held out his hand for a hand shake.
The man that Psycho had run into seemed to have an attitude problem. Fortunately, so did Psycho. "You watch where you're going. The way I see it, I was doing perfectly fine in my escape attempt, and you had to go along and ruin it." Psycho shook his head. Nobody had any appreciation for convicts anymore. Of course he was going to try to escape.
"You must be William. Welcome to Xavier's School for the Gifted. Come. Walk with me. Talk with me. I'm Shawn by the way. Nice to finally meet you William. "
"Don't call me William. That's not my name. It's Psycho, okay. If I've gotta spend time here, you'd do well to learn it right. And I don't like it any more than you do." Psycho hadn't read that Shawn didn't like Psycho being here, he just assumed that having a convict wouldn't exactly make someone's day. Psycho glared at Shawn's extended hand for a few moments, then reached out as if to shake it. However, as his hand neared Shawn's, Psycho used a small push to depress the button holding one of his knives in it's sheathe on his wrist. It fell into his hand, the tip barely visible and sticking out past his fingers. He tapped Shawn's hand with it, and the cold metal was sure to be noticed.
"Don't try to be friends. It won't work. I'm just here until my time's up, then I'm out."

"You watch where you're going. The way I see it, I was doing perfectly fine in my escape attempt, and you had to go along and ruin it." Streak couldn't help but chuckle at his comment. This guy was a bit of a short fuse. Not always good when you had a mansion full of kids. {Well you did run into me not the other way around. And I wasn't even trying to stop you.} he thought as he waited for William to shake his hand.
"Don't call me William. That's not my name. It's Psycho, okay. If I've gotta spend time here, you'd do well to learn it right. And I don't like it any more than you do." Finally the kid reached out to shake Shawn's hand. He felt the tip of a knife on his hand. Streak immediately silvered himself up completely and formed a knife. He then pressed the silver knife up to his psycho's neck and said, "Don't think for one second that you can show up here and intimidate me. I'll let you know right now. I wasn't to thrilled to hear you were coming; but, I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt. And so far you're not starting out with a very good first impression." He lowered the knife and pulled it back into his silvery skin from whence it came. "So why don't you calm down and we can talk like two reasonable men. How about that Psycho?" Streak said sounding much more polite than he was a second ago.
{Well you did run into me not the other way around. And I wasn't even trying to stop you.}
"I'm sure."
As the tip of Psycho's knife touched the man's hand, his body becam covered in a strange silver material, something that looked alot like quicksilver, or mercury. A silvery knife that Psycho guessed was made from the same material seemed to appear out of the man, and he pressed it to Psycho's neck.
"Don't think for one second that you can show up here and intimidate me. I'll let you know right now. I wasn't to thrilled to hear you were coming; but, I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt. And so far you're not starting out with a very good first impression. So why don't you calm down and we can talk like two reasonable men. How about that Psycho?"
Psycho smiled. First impressions nonwithstanding, he felt he could come to like this man. He had the right kind of attitude, in Psycho's opinion. If he would just loosen up a bit, maybe he and Psycho could become friends. "Benefit of the doubt, huh? I guess, whatever. I guess we'll talk." Psycho reached out with his mind, and whispered But it would be insulting to assume that I won't try to escape again, kapeesh? into the man's head.

With the kid seeming to have gotten Streak's point he removed the knife, pulled it bak into his silvery skin and smiled smugly. Shawn then returned the silver to it's typical resting place on his body.
"Benefit of the doubt, huh? I guess, whatever. I guess we'll talk."
the next thing he heard was in his head; however, Shawn didn't find it weird because he thought that psycho had said it out loud. "Hey If you want to run that's your prerogative. We ain't a prison we're a school. With your attitude where on earth would you go? Anyway let's try this again. Welcome to Xavier's Sister School for the Gifted Youngsters aka Mutant High II. There's plenty of people here that can help you understand your powers more." He began to tell William.
"I'll get you a room if you want one. Unless you plan on running away within the remainder of the day." Shawn said starting to head off across the mansion grounds. "Follow me and I'll give you a quick tour."

Welcome to Xavier's Sister School for the Gifted Youngsters aka Mutant High II. There's plenty of people here that can help you understand your powers more."
Psycho almost yawned through the token introductions. He ignored the whole 'turn your life around' thing and instead concentrated on the important stuff hidden within the waffle that was the introduction. The most interesting thing was actually the last sentence. There are people here who can help me increase my powers? Usefull. Maybe I'll stay a bit.
"I'll get you a room if you want one. Unless you plan on running away within the remainder of the day. Follow me and I'll give you a quick tour." Shawn said as he started to head off across the grounds.
Psycho waited the appropriate pause that signified his reluctance to even be there, then followed slowly, picking up dirt clods with his telekinesis and pelting them at birds and squirrels. I wonder if they have a phone here. Psycho thought. If there was a phone he could contact one of his buddies and give him general instructions while Psycho was in the school. At this point Psycho planned to stay, if only to improve his powers, though he would put up a bit of token resistance.

" Yeah, a room would be cool."
"Good." It would be an easy fix. There seemed to be plenty of room at the mansion and considering how little so many people slept, himself included, there were always beds available. as a matter of safety for the rest of the students he didn't want Psycho to be sharing a room with any youngsters because of the way he talked to people.
Once they reached the do he opened it and led him inside. "You're how old? 17 right?" he said picking up the file he'd laid down earlier. "What's your power, Psycho? Just for information so that we can make sure you're powers aren't dangerous to people." He explained the reason for his question.
Once they reached the doors Shawn opened it and led Psycho inside. "You're how old? 17 right?" he said, picking up the a file off of a table. "What's your power, Psycho? Just for information so that we can make sure you're powers aren't dangerous to people."
Psycho eyed the file warily. In his experience people that had files with his name on it generally wanted to lock him up or kill him. "Yeah, 17. Why?" In response to the second question, Psycho smiled and telekinetically lifted the folder out of Shawn's hands, twirling it in the air before setting it on the table. He then reached out with his mind and said Oh, my powers are very, very dangerous...

Shawn started to walk with the file in his hand when Psycho answered him. "Well it's just so that I know to put you with the kids or in the adults area of the dorms." Just then the folder was lifted out of his hands telekinetically. "So...I guess that answers my second question now doesn't it?" he said rhetorically.
Streak let out a sigh. This kid was not making things easy on him. The silvered eyed young man watched the folder land back on the table. It was definitely an interesting power but the kid needed to stop thinking he was so intimidating. Shawn walked over to the table again and picked up the folder again. He quickly wrote, 'telepathy/telekinesis' under the powers section before Psycho was able to remove the file from his hand again. Streak heard the kids comment in his head but couldn't help but scoff at it. {He needs to stop trying to intimidate people. Especially me. Because it wont work.} "Look kid. I've faced things that would have you cowering under your covers for so stop with the macho act. Alright?" He said looking the guy straight in the eyes.
The silver eyed man then started the tour. "Here we have the adults dorms. At the end of the hall is the Infirmary." Shawn started walking. He'd rehearsed this tour thousands of times so it was very easy for him to get back in the rhythm, even if someone was being difficult. "The kitchen is straight over there and the class rooms are two hallways down and on your right." He had other things to do and really didn't want to be around the kid much. Therefore Streak was trying to get through this as quickly as possible.
