The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Sara caught the bottle and with the edge of her thumb claw, popped the cap. “No offence but with mutants, that’s hard to tell.” Sara sat cross legged and took a sip of her pop. Age wasn’t a bad thing in Sara’s book but if he had a problem with that, Sara made a mental note. “I’ll admit part of the reason I let myself in was curiosity. But there was a practical reason too. I drift from one place to another here in the city, and constantly look for the next dwelling. You’d be surprised what some people leave empty for a week or two.” That and the moving around made Sara hard to track. “As far as having my ass kicked by a house, I normally fare better. You don’t know if you don’t ask or inspect.”
She found herself staring at the silver board. Her head tilted and she leaned to the side to check under it and try to figure out how the thing worked. “Once the exit was sealed, I only defended myself.”
She saw the movement out of the corner of her eye and pulled her head back before the cloths could land there. Like Demi. Her arm not holding the pop caught them as they passed in front of her. “Kaz. Definitely a name I’m more willing to admit defeat to than saying I lost to a outcast member of the blue man group.”

Kaz regarded Sara for a few moments silently. "Actually, no, I wouldn't be surprised. But you of all people should understand an old saying, 'Curiosity killed the cat'. Why don't you just find a place to live permanently, I can't imagine you want to live as a wanderer and/or squatter forever." Kaz paused. "You could have just given up and surrendered, probably would have been less painful for you. This place might lack security in some ways but...Yeah, most places won't be able to riddle you with holes automatically." Kaz didn't think he needed to say the he was the one controlling the security at the time.
"Outcast member of the blue man group huh...Weren't those the guys in that old Pentium commercial with the pipes?" He asked offhandedly. "Some advice, if you're going to do something, do it well. You got in here nicely, but you had no idea what you were getting yourself into. If you're looking for a new place to stay, keep an eye open all the time, and once you've found a place, stalk it for a while, get as much info as you can."
Kaz turned and headed back to the board, sat and put the glove on. "If you'd like, you can wash up and change upstairs. I'm sure you'd like to get off the floor." He put the guns in their holsters as his voice became softer and much colder. "I'm only giving you another chance because you're a fellow mutant. If you screw up, you won't live to do it again." With those words, Kaz directed the board to the lift and headed towards the living room.
Sara’s legs crossed as she set the shirt and the sweatpants in her lap, folding them with one hand. There seemed to be a lot of pauses in this short conversation. Sara’s golden amber eyes flicked up from her work, in her lap, and looked right into Kaz’s red eyes. Then he started speaking and he dropped the curiosity killed the cat comment. Like Sara had never heard that one before. “It’s the same reason you have your security system.” It was one of the few things Sara was scared of. Not that she would just admit this out loud. “Having my own place would be wonderful, but as of right now, I don’t like other people knowing where I am at.” Maybe part of this was the wild cat side of Sara. She saw a nature show once where Cougars were constantly moving to a different home for the night. However the thought in being unpredictable and hard to find was logical, as well.
“As far as holes go, I heal.” Sara returned her attention to her pop and her folding. Technically they both knew that Sara getting caught in the security system she wouldn’t really get that far. Not yet, anyways. Maybe if She had a 6th sense for location. Still she thought she would push him just a little bit to see how far he’d let her go. “In my experience giving in has brought on worst fates than resisting.” Plus again, Sara normally did a lot better in a fight.
"If you'd like, you can wash up and change upstairs. I'm sure you'd like to get off the floor."
Hello Kaz had put her on the floor more than once. Of course she would like up. She sipped the root bear and used her legs to push herself so her back slid up the I beam that she had been chained to.
"I'm only giving you another chance because you're a fellow mutant. If you screw up, you won't live to do it again."
Ok button pushing time again. Or at least testing to see what buttons are ones that can be pushed. Sara had a lot of kitten left in her, when it came to people telling her rules. Weather she should be respecting them or not. Yeah, yeah, bad habit, but still. “for being someone who does not like to feel old, you have these fatherly figure tendencies.”

Kaz made his way to the kitchen while he waited for Sara to come up the stairs. As he began to grab bread, cheese and butter, he let himself shift back to normal while Demi found a place higher up to lay and relax. While the pan he set on the stove was warming up, he went to his room and got a new black silk shirt. He wasn't surprised it was taking Sara a few minutes to get up the stairs. He could imagine her looking around or inspecting the gymnasium area, with all it's equipment, which included quite a variety of blades on a section of wall.
Kaz had just put two slices of lightly buttered bread on the pan when he noticed Sara coming up the stairs, followed by her comment, "for being someone who does not like to feel old, you have these fatherly figure tendencies."
Kaz raised an eyebrow at Sara. "Perhaps I do, I've never noticed them. Though is it really a bad thing, at any age? To give advice, or to try and help or improve the life of another?" He said to her in an even tone as he placed two slices of cheese and a second buttered slice of bread on each browning bread slice on the pan.
Sara had made it up one flight of stairs. The gym area of Kaz’s Warehouse was fascinating if not a little on the scary side. She had taken a moment to admire the different blade on the wall, and to check the equipment. Back in her child hood, she had enjoyed the movement tests she had been given on the mat and the high beam. They’d been a break from everything else, but they were also still memories from back then.
Sara’s tail flicked at her heals as she pushed that thought to the back of her mind. Instead of dillydallying more, in the Gym, Sara headed to the stairs. At the foot she gave herself a quick inspection. The hole at her stomach made the corners of her lips twitch down. At least her pants hadn’t been ruined as well. Tank tops were less expensive and easier to come by. She changed tops, to the grey shirt Kaz had given her. It was a little too big, so it rubbed her fur the wrong way, making her itch, but it was better than having a hole in her front. After that it was only a few seconds for her to get up the stairs to pop that really odd statement, and then get the not so odd answer.
"Perhaps I do, I've never noticed them. Though is it really a bad thing, at any age? To give advice, or to try and help or improve the life of another?"
“Mostly no, but sometimes Yes.” The smell of cooking butter entered Sara’s nose and she eyed the pan as she entered the room then found a stool to sit on at the counter. The extra pants and her torn tank top were dropped next to her feet, in a neat folded pile, and she made herself comfortable on the stool. “Each circumstance has it’s own needs and requires it’s own judgment, however this world needs more people willing to help another.”

Kaz finished with the first two grilled cheese, picked them up and set them on a plate he put in front of Sara. "Eat." He said firmly as he turned to make two more. "If someone wants to or tries to help another, I don't think circumstances have anything to do with it, just when to do it and the way you do it. Some people don't deserve to be helped." Kaz sneered slightly as he spoke. " A lot of people are just scum, who don't give two shits about anyone else. Not to mention most people are so against being helped or advice given, that they rebel against it and get worse. There are those you don't even bother helping, except to stick a knife in their back."
The two grilled cheese on the pan finished, he put the on a plate of his own and turned toward Sara. After a bite, "You said earlier giving in sometimes makes things worse right. Have you ever thought that "giving in"," Kaz did the quote gesture with one hand, "might be a good way to get your opponent in close or to drop their guard a bit, and leave enough room for a 'surprise' attack?" He looked at her as he took another bite.
One eye brow raised and Sara’s ears flicked back. His firm voice had entirely too much demand to it. At least for her taste. Sure eating was something she intended to do because of her loss mass after healing, but really. She poked at the first sandwich and gave it a couple of suspicious sniffs. Uhg. Bad idea. Butter and cheese just smelled so good. She settled back instead and finished off her bottle of root beer that she had been taking her time with as he continued.
"If someone wants to or tries to help another, I don't think circumstances have anything to do with it, just when to do it and the way you do it. Some people don't deserve to be helped."
The bottle hovered in front of Sara’s lips. “Doesn’t that have to do with individual Circumstance?” Kaz went on and Sara lazily sipped at the rest of her root beer as she watched his work carefully with the other two sandwiches. If he put something in hers the residue would still be in the pan, so she didn’t start in on her own meal till he took the first bite.
"You said earlier giving in sometimes makes things worse right. Have you ever thought that "giving in",".. .. .. "might be a good way to get your opponent in close or to drop their guard a bit, and leave enough room for a 'surprise' attack?"
Sara started pulling the her first sandwich appart, in mouth sized pieces, watching the cheese stretch, before popping it in her mouth. Mean while it seemed Kaz was going into lesson mode again. Ok. She’d not only eat but bite the bait. “Today, by the time that goal crossed my mind, it was too late. A year ago that tactic is probably the only reason I survived. So Yeah. I’ve thought of that.” Her amber lamp like eyes flicked up from her food to study him. Sara had broken off the second piece of sandwich and had rolled it into a little grilled Cheese ball before popping it in her mouth as well. Now there was something stores should sell. Grilled Cheese balls. “I got flustered when you appeared right in front of me and I hadn’t realized your speed.”

Kaz raised an eyebrow as he watched Sara roll a pice of the grilled cheese into a ball, he didn't try to hide his confusion from her or that he thought it was odd. He nodded a bit, "Once you're surprised you've lost half the fight already, heh." He finished off his grilled cheese with a slight smile on his face, glad to know he really had taken her by surprise. When he first had rushed and attacked her, he hadn't be using his full speed or strength, but after the initial exchange, he had to increase his tempo. By the end he had nearly been utilizing his strength and speed at the max. No need to let her know that, "Oh? Huh, I suppose it's a good thing that I didn't pull out all the stops then. Otherwise we might not be here enjoying a conversation while eating."
"I'm curious if you hadn't been caught, what would you have gone after? I'm sure you didn't have much time to look around before, but you seem experienced enough to know what is profitable and what isn't fairly quickly."
"Oh? Huh, I suppose it's a good thing that I didn't pull out all the stops then. Otherwise we might not be here enjoying a conversation while eating."
Sara’s nose darkened into a blush. Typical male stroking their own ego. At least she had gotten faster in the last year. Not that she would tell him that. “Technically I could take that statement two ways. Either you saying you’d rearrange my face so I can’t eat, or I’d be dead. At least I heal.” Or she just might have been killed anyways.
She wasn’t going to admit to any pain she still felt that she shouldn’t be feeling, but she notices a slight pain and discomfort in her gut when she leaned against the counter.
She finished her first grilled cheese, then started in on her second. Rolling the first bite of that one into a ball only for the fact that he looked confused when she first started doing it. She was part cat. It was in her nature to play with her food. The very fact that Kaz looked confused when she rolled her sandwich into balls, made her feel like she gained a small piece of her dignity back.
“What I see if most valuable, and what I would take are two different things. I found cameras outside,” Not to mention motion detectors. No doubt he knew she found them. “I could hear them running in here. At least the ones I saw.” There was electricity running to other things in the walls. Sara thought back to suddenly seeing all those lasers pointed to her top. “If I did take anything it would have been something you didn’t even know you were missing but still pawnable. I’d rather be able to revisit a place I’ve made a profit from before, and stealing something of high value right away, makes that much harder.” Sara wasn’t proud of the fact she was a thief as well, but on those pick pocketing, thieving occasions, she was good at what she didn’t.
