The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Hi Neena. You certainly can make an entrance can't ya?"
Her grin widened. "I have no idea what you mean, m'friend," she teased.
"Oh, ya this is Gabe. Gabe Neena."
"Hi Gabe!" Neena waved at the finned youth cheerfully, noting the sagginess of his soggy clothing. She wondered why he wore such oversized clothing?
"Gabe's a prospective student and I'm showing him around." Streak He turned to look at Gabe. "Looks like we've found your fellow classmates. The classes here are a little different than other schools."
"They are?" Neena scratched her head. "How?"
One of the girls chose that particular moment to send a spray of water toward the African teacher, water that changed colors from blue to orange the instant it left her hands. Neena ducked beneath the waves quickly, and the majority of the spout overflowed the edge of the pool, toward the landbound boys' feet.
"I can see that," Gabe finally replied, just as Neena resurfaced. "Nice to meet you, Neena. I like your school."
"Thank you, m'friend." She pulled herself up over the edge of the pool, and out of the water. Dripping, she walked over to the youth and held out her hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you. As Streak said, I'm Neena. And these are, Miriam, Lona, Dionne, Carve, Rodan and Xulay." Each person waved or said 'hi' as they were introduced. "We're working on water powers today. Sort of."
Neena held out her hand for the soaked folder Gabe held. Ink had smeared lines down the sides of the paper. She held it up.
"Xulay, we could use a drench reverse, kiddo!"
A young girl with blond hair, but distinctly oriental facial features, swam to the edge of the pool and pulled herself out, then walked over to the trio. She took the folder, and frowned in deep concentration. Very slowly, the inky streaks began backtracking, retracing their water paths across the paper.
While the teen worked, and the others returned to their liquidy fun, Neena turned to Gabe, and held out her hand to shake.
"Are you looking to join classes, m'friend, or just looking for somewhere to crash?"

Gabe paid no mind to the colored water that splashed down by his feet, nor to much of the witty banter that passed between the two Mansion residents. His mind was still a little stuck on the thought of the dripping papers in his hand and the idiocy of his lack of reaction in response to the initial splash. And that Neena was a young woman. A very beautiful young woman, strange eyes and all. Gabe was not so very graceful around the lady-types, verbally or physically. He just seemed to trip more over both his words and his feet. He just hoped that someday it would remedy itself. As she pulled herself out of the water and introduced the students that remained in the pool, Gabe carefully let his gaze seek them all out as they waved or called out, knowing it was hopeless to try and remember all their names at the moment, but trying to match the faces and words anyways. He simply nodded as she explained what the class was doing and obediently handed the soaked folder over when Neena held out a hand for it. Curiously the fish boy watched as a young girl was called and set to work reversing the water damage that had been done to the files. His white pupils shifted only momentarily after Neena had spoken. Focusing back on the teacher, he pulled up one of the large soggy sleeves and took her hand in his as it was offered, his grip not very firm as he simply tried to manage a successful handshake without the webbing between his fingers getting too much in the way. "Uhm, a place to crash would be great at the moment. I've only just arrived in New York, so I don't have an apartment or a hotel room or anything," he replied, letting his hand drop back to his side, the wet sleeve wasting no time in tucking the blue skin out of sight once more. "But some classes might be interesting, too. I don't really know what I want to take yet, though. And Streak said I didn't have to pay, but if that's not the case I can do some work for you to help with the costs or something."

Streak stood there listening to the conversation between Neena and Gabe. There really wasn't anything for him to say. He'd already given him most of the tour and since they'd found Neena, in her very naturally unusual entries into someone's life. She did make an impression on someone. He focused his thoughts on other things. He watched as one of the girls that was in the pool came out and dried the papers that Gabe was holding. He was glad that he wouldn't have to have Gabe fill those things out again.
When Gabe pointed out what Streak had said earlier he was surprised. He hadn't seen many of the kids that were swimming around in the pool. Where'd they all come from? I know I haven't missed that much. He thought to himself. He wondered when they'd come in because he hadn't seen them around. It was a semi-large school but it was small enough that you would know most people that lived there at least by name if not by working with them in a class or something. Streak didn't interrupt their conversation since they were talking about living in the school.
Despite the boy’s light grip and quick shake, Neena caught a quick glimpse of the webbing between his fingers. She made no mention of it, however. He came across as quite nervous, at least to her. Bringing attention to the unusual feature might not be the most thoughtful action at the moment.
"Uhm, a place to crash would be great at the moment. I've only just arrived in New York, so I don't have an apartment or a hotel room or anything."
She nodded. ”Well then, welcome to New York as well. May I ask where you’re from?”
"But some classes might be interesting, too. I don't really know what I want to take yet, though. And Streak said I didn't have to pay, but if that's not the case I can do some work for you to help with the costs or something."
”No worries, m’friend, I’m sure we can work something out. And classes are quite varied, so I’m sure you’ll find something interesting if you choose to.”
She felt a tap on her shoulder, and turned to see Xulay holding up a restored New Resident form. The older woman took several steps to a table to retrieve a towel and dry her hands, then gingerly took the folder. ”Thank you, kiddo. Nice work,” she praised after a careful examination. The girl smiled shyly.
”I can still only do one reverse at a time,” she said quietly. Neena smiled.
”No worries, m’friend. That’s what practice is for.”
Turning back to the Gabe and Streak, she asked, ”So Streak’s given you the tour already? Shall we settle you in a room then?” She looked at the restored folder once more, noting Gabe’s mutation and his age. ”Nineteen, eh? Nice.”

"Thanks. I'm originally from down in the Tampa area of Florida. Been there all my life. I only just recently decided to get out and find somewhere more suited for me. I heard about the Mansion somewhere so I thought I'd come have a look," Gabe explained, figuring that'd probably wind up in his file as well, not that he minded or anything. He expected there's be school files or residential forms kept for everyone. It would be next to impossible to keep track of everyone otherwise. "I haven't even been in the city all that long yet, so I don't really know where anything else is. My plane landed not too long ago, though looking the way I do and with everything that's been going on recently it took a bit longer for me to get out of that place and find this one." He stopped there, realizing that he was beginning to ramble on about issues that were more off topic, instead letting his attention drift over to the girl that had dried the papers for him, patiently waiting as the brief exchange took place. Heck, Gabe couldn't dry anything like that at all, so even one page at a time was impressive enough for him. "Oh, uh, yeah, Streak's already shown me pretty much everything inside by now," he replied to Neena's next question, easily letting his focus slip away from the girl that had captured the older woman's attention for a moment. "He was just showing me around out here when we ran into you, but I think I've seen just about everything." He may not remember where it all was, but he'd at least seen it by now. He'd get the knack of it eventually, but for now he was just thankful he still had a guide with him. "Sure, finding a room sounds good." he replied, giving a smile at the thought. A room was good. Files were good, too. It meant he was in, even if it was just to use the Mansion as a crash pad. "Hm? Oh, yeah. Nineteen," he commented, his cheeks turning the faintest hint of a darker shade at the casual compliment tossed out. "Will be Twenty by next April." Huh. April. Even nature seemed to have it out for him with the jokes. April was the season known for it's showers, after all. He never could catch much of a break.

Streak listened to the exchange between Neena and Gabe. It was nothing new by any means. But he was intrigued by the young girl that dried Gabe's papers. Tampa's a nice place. Lots of hot chicks. Streak thought to himself. Or at least, that's what he'd heard. Personally Streak had never been to Tampa or any other part of Florida outside of Disney World and that was when he was much younger.
He wasn't sure if he was needed anymore here. Neena seemed to have everything in hand; however, he stayed around to see if she needed anything or if she wanted to help him with Gabe. Gabe had agreed to get a room so Streak would probably help him get settled and introduce him to anyone else they may have seen on the way. Streak thought for a minute and then remembered that the mansion seemed pretty empty inside today. He stood there looking like a silver statue. Finally he spoke up, "I can find him a room, if your to busy with this class. Unless you have to let him in." he offered helpfully. He was pretty sure he could find an empty room for Gabe to stay in.
"Thanks. I'm originally from down in the Tampa area of Florida. Been there all my life. I only just recently decided to get out and find somewhere more suited for me. I heard about the Mansion somewhere so I thought I'd come have a look. I haven't even been in the city all that long yet, so I don't really know where anything else is. My plane landed not too long ago, though looking the way I do and with everything that's been going on recently it took a bit longer for me to get out of that place and find this one."
When he paused, Neena wrinkled her nose in distaste. "I'm sorry you had to deal with that. You must have a lot of patience," she commended.
"Oh, uh, yeah, Streak's already shown me pretty much everything inside by now." She noticed he seemed a bit uneasy, but she put it off to being new in town, not the proximity to a number of girl. "He was just showing me around out here when we ran into you, but I think I've seen just about everything."
"Pefect!" Neena grinned and gave Streak a thumb's up. "Well, m'friend, I may have to reassign you to Meet and Greet duty, at this rate."
"Sure, finding a room sounds good." The idea seemed to bring a bit of the perk back to Gabe's face. "Hm? Oh, yeah. Nineteen. Will be Twenty by next April."
"I can find him a room," Streak spoke up. "if your to busy with this class. Unless you have to let him in."
She grinned, and nodded. "I'm not too busy, but if you're volunteering, then sure. I do have to go grab my keys from the office though." She turned to the still-splashing group in the pool. "Be right back, Miriam."
The yellow-haired woman waved acknowledgment, and Neena motioned for the young men to follow her back inside. She led them to the Headmistress's office. After a bit of rummaging in the desk, she came out with a ring of keys, which fit the empty rooms in the halls above, and handed them to Streak.
"Center hall, if you'd be so kind," she told him with a smile. She turned to Gabe. "Any other luggage you need help with, m'friend?"

Gabe gave a small shrug at Neena's apology for his airline ordeal, noting the distasteful look she gave. "I don't worry about it too awfully much. If they feel they have to treat me differently then so be it. I'd rather not start any trouble with anyone. At least I was able to get on the plane. That's good enough for me," he replied, a bit of his more laid back side showing through his words before he fell back into silence as Neena turned her attention over to Streak and the two exchanged words for a short while. Carefully he took a few steps back as Neena went to pass them in order to lead the pair to the Headmistress's Office to get some keys, presumably to unlock a vacant room somewhere for Gabe to claim as his own. He didn't want to get in her way. Somehow Gabe always seemed to get in the way of someone. And he wasn't always so very good at getting back out of the way, especially with his fairly common coordination problems. And with his rather silly outfit, which only hindered his movement, he was trying to be more careful than usual. With just as much care he fell into step behind her and Streak, taking in his surroundings once more as they passed from the outer property of the Mansion to the building's interior, seeing if he could remember what at least some of the areas were used for. Patiently he waited in the hall as Neena disappeared into the office only to reappear with the aforementioned keys. Center hall. That was the adult rooms, right? Well, it seemed to make sense, he was legally an adult, after all. It just meant he'd have to be more careful of which rooms he might accidentally stumble into. There was no segregation in the center hall. "No, I didn't bring anything else with me. It's hard enough getting places when you're blue. It only would have been harder with something like a suitcase," he replied to the older woman's question, his goofy grin appearing again for the moment.

Streak followed Neena away from the pools edge and back towards the inside of the mansion. It did seem like he did this a lot. "I don't mind it's not like I do much around here anyways." He said joking with Neena a little. Once they got back inside and went to Neena's office she returned moments later with keys. It looked more like a janitors set of keys; however, instead of the keys leading to various closets with cleaning supplies, it lead to all the empty rooms in the mansion.
"Sure no problem." He took the keys from Neena's hand and twirled them around his silver fingers. He listened to Gabe's answer. He thought about trying to go through security covered in his silver. "Glad I don't have to go through security. I'd probably never get through. Mainly 'cause I don't have enough patience to deal with those idiots." He said smiling. "This way Gabe. We'll see what room is close. I imagine they all look about the same so I don't think you'll have to worry about getting one that looks bad." He said as he began walking towards the adults hallway.
"I don't mind it's not like I do much around here anyways."
Neena nudged her friend's shoulder. "Says you."
"No, I didn't bring anything else with me. It's hard enough getting places when you're blue. It only would have been harder with something like a suitcase."
She chuckled, glad to see the boy smile finally. So perhaps he was just shy. That would be understandable.
"Glad I don't have to go through security. I'd probably never get through. Mainly 'cause I don't have enough patience to deal with those idiots."
"A shame we can't all fly," she replied with a sigh.
"This way Gabe. We'll see what room is close. I imagine they all look about the same so I don't think you'll have to worry about getting one that looks bad."
"Thanks, m'friend." Neena squeezed the silvery youth's shoulder, then bowed toward the aquatic-appearing newcomer. "Welcome to Xavier's, Gabe. I'll let you know what classes are when they come available. In the meantime, enjoy yourself!" She handed over the map in the back of the file.
While the two headed out to find a room, she turned to set the file in the 'IN' box, for Garrett to file later. Between Streak, Garrett, Sam and Ghost, she had very little to do anymore. She smiled to herself. It was good to have the Team active again, in numerous ways.

Gabe's smile faltered just a bit as Neena bowed in his direction, the fish boy blinking slowly at the woman in slight confusion, his fin ears falling back a little. He'd never had anyone bow to him before, and as such was unaware of what might be an appropriate response to such an action. He just settled for an embarrassed kind of smile. "Thanks, Neena. I already like it here after just visiting, so I'm sure I'll enjoy living here as well," he replied, taking the offered map gratefully. A map was something that would certainly come in useful around this place, at least for the first few weeks. Folding the map into a smaller size, he then carefully tucked it up under his overly large sweatshirt and down into one of the back pockets of his more appropriately-fitting pair of jeans. Turning his attention over to Streak as he was addressed, the fish boy gave a small nod, hurrying to keep in step with his escort, though not quite hurried enough that he'd risk accidentally tripping over something on their way to find a room. "Oh, I wouldn't worry too much about getting a room that looks less than pretty," Gabe replied, giving another easy smile. "I'm just happy that I get a room at all. And we're allowed to decorate a little right? Nothing a few posters or something couldn't fix, I'm sure." It might have seemed a little overly optimistic of him, but Gabe was the kind of creature that tried to please people he interacted with. He didn't like fights, especially if he got dragged into them, and as such had adapted into being rather laid back and conditioned into not starting any trouble when he could help it. At least, he did when he first met people. After he became a little more relaxed around them, his mouth tended to get him into trouble at times, intentionally or otherwise.

The silver man smirked at Neena. They both knew he did a lot around the mansion, but often times it felt like he didn't do as much as he could, or should. He waved to Neena as he walked away, keys jingling in his hand. After about a minute of walking they reached one of the rooms that was available. "Right now its just got the basics. Ya know? Like the bed, dressers, lamps stuff like that. But you can spice it up with whatever you want." He explained to Gabe.
Gabe seemed to be really happy with his decision to at least get a room. Shawn thought that the young man was perhaps sold on the idea of staying here in the mansion and even taking classes. Since Streak had gotten here there weren't many classes available for him to take. His powers were so unique that there was no one who could match him with the same abilities. Although he did have to admit, Sam was getting very good and was just as creative with his powers as Streak. He opened the door for Gabe with the key and said, "Here ya go. Hope this room suites you." He took the key off the key ring and handed it to Gabe. After a slight pause he said to Gabe. "Make yourself comfortable. If you need anything just let me know." He wasn't sure if the fish boy was going to need him for anything else or even need him for more directions or anything.

Gabe paused a short distance from Streak as the young man somehow located the correct key on the ring from the mess of other keys that covered it, all of them different shapes and sizes. The ones that were more similar in appearance were what he assumed to be keys to the remaining empty rooms. Bringing one hand out from the large pocket of his sweatshirt, the sleeve falling back almost to his elbow, he gratefully took the offered key, carefully tucking it in one of his jeans pockets, his sleeve sliding right back down to hide his blue arm and webbed hand. He would need to find a chain to put the key on at some point. With his love of and need for water, just placing it in his pocket would be careless, as it could very easily fall out and be lost. He also didn't particularly care to leave it someplace in his room where the was the possibility of accidentally locking himself out and being unable to reach it. With a chain, he could wear it either around his neck or twisted around one of his wrists. He could even attach it to one of his belt loops if he wanted. There was perhaps a chain lying around the Mansion somewhere, though he'd more likely than not be a bit too unsure about taking it, lest it should belong to someone. When he scraped up some money he'd probably go out and buy one. Nothing fancy, just something simple that would do the job and properly secure the key.
Almost shyly he slid past Streak and into the now open and accessible room, pausing again in the middle of the floor and taking a look around. As his escort had mentioned, there was a bed, neatly draped in impersonal white sheets and a heavier blanket folded at its foot. A dresser stood off against one wall with at least four drawers in it and decent space on its top to throw little bits and pieces of everyday items. A standing lamp took up space in one of the corners, though two or three more outlets allowed for the light source to be places elsewhere in the room if he so chose. A smaller lamp occupied the space of a small bedside table, and another door lay in the wall opposite the dresser, presumably leading to a small bathroom. Showers were of course needed, if not for common personal hygiene, then for his unique skin condition. It also meant that he'd have somewhere to hang his soggy sweatshirt so it could drip-dry, though he didn't suspect he'd be needing it too soon around this place. He didn't have any posters, but he would probably end up hanging the school map on one of his walls, at least until he found something better or until he got more acquainted with the layout of the Mansion and no longer needed to reference it. Perhaps he'd pin it up by the door where he could quickly snatch it from the wall on his way out, if need be. "Okay," he replied, turning to look back at Streak with that goofy smile on his face again. "If I need something you'll be the first person I look for. Or Neena. I know Neena now to, and she seems to know the Mansion just as well. So if I need something, either you or Neena are the people I'll look for."

Their meeting seemed to be wrapping up fairly quickly. Streak thought that it might be more of a tradition to leave them to get settled once you show them their rooms. "Alright. Well then I'll see ya round man." Streak said to him. He left the key with Gabe and went to return the other keys to Neena's office. Streak walked down the hall and retracted his powers into his body. After exiting the hallway he turned and headed towards the kitchen.
