The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Luke waved after Raina as the young woman left the restaurant. "See you again sometime!"
Turning back to his plate the blind man knew he had one more piece of sushi left but he wasn't sure if he raelly wanted to eat it or not. I mean, this much raw fish might get to him and he wasn't the biggest sushi eater in the world.
"Allow me to get the bill." Sara spoke up from across the table.
"You don't have to but... thanks." Luke replied before pulling out his wallet, "I'll get the tip... from the service I don't expect it to be very large."
The final statement had been made with an obvious smile that meant Luke was taking it all as a joke. "You want my last piece of sushi? It's tuna, but I think I'm full." He continued, pushing his plate part way across the table as an offering before he grabbed his glass of water and took yet another sip.
"So, if you don't mind my asking, where do you live Sara? I figured out you're not at the mansion so do you have an apartment or something?"
Yeah she did. this was the most fun she had while not completely trying to hide, since before the camps. Plus she might be causing some damage to his security devices in the future. Not that she expected him to know that.
"I'll get the tip... from the service I don't expect it to be very large."
Sara shook her head smiling, before the end of her nose darkened with a little blush. She forgot he couldn't see her, and she didn't know how far that radar of his was working. "I'm use to it."
"You want my last piece of sushi? It's tuna, but I think I'm full."
"Thanks." high metabolism, = large apatite = Sara eating more than the usual mutant, or human. There were times that it actually felt like her body was screaming for her to feed it. She took the piece of tuna, daintily, with the tips of her for finger, and thumb claw, and plucked it from the plate. Choosing to saver this piece more, since she knew it was the very last, of the last.
"So, if you don't mind my asking, where do you live Sara? I figured out you're not at the mansion so do you have an apartment or something?"
"I don't exactly have an apartment." She admitted. Ok, so how to answer the rest of the question. she chewed the sushi to give herself time to think. "I moved to new York City, Lat year, when I was planning on staying at a place called sanctuary. The day I decided to move in, the building was raided, and I was among those to be taken to the registration camps. Since the camps were taken down, I haven't found a place where i feel comfortable, So I've developed a habbit of moving every week or so."

"She lives on the streets... she has to." Luke realized immediately from the cat's statement. With the prices in New York he didn't think there was any way she could afford to pay for a different hotel each week and he didn't know of any apartments that rented by the week... unless they were in the slums of course.
"I lived in Europe for a long time... back packed all around bunking in whatever room the local farmers would let me have." Luke offered, a slight smile on his face as he remembered. "It was kind of a nie time. I grew up around so many trust fund babies that I had to get out and see how the real world lived. It helped me grow up that's for sure."
Even back then of course Luke had been able to access as much money as he might need but he had purposely stayed away from his own funds unless an emergency came up. Uncle Oliver would never understand that kind of mindset but then he didn't understand a lot of real life circumstances.
"So you have a place to right now or are you still wandering between locations?"
Sara leaned back in her seat as she listened. She had given up on trying to wave the waitress over, and decided that she would just walk up to her, instead, when she decided to pay. She may be a crook, but she didn’t steal where she got fed. Maybe she would come back. Maybe she wouldn’t. She wanted them to remember she paid, and paid well.
The choice to travel made sense to Sara. She’d near gotten extremely close, to those with lots of money, but she didn’t see herself getting close to them either. What he said next, made Sara shift in her seat. She should lie. She should tell the truth. But lying was easier. There wasn’t ever an easy yes or no answer.
“I’ll have a place.” She assured him. Where she was choosing to stay tonight was another warehouse. It was a matter of picking a lock, and walking in.

Luke nodded, accepting that Sara could take care of herself. He had never been one to force help on anyone and this would be no different. He might have been interested in carrying on a longer conversation but the pain in his head was approaching the unbearable point and he really had to get home where he could let his sonar out safely.
"Well thank you very much for lunch and I hope I see you again sometime. If you ever need anything feel free to give me a call at the numer on that card." Luke said with the best smile he could muster as he slid over towards the end of the booth, preparing to leave. "Take care of yourself Sara."
Having had her wishes instantly accepted, with the nod, Sara's shoulders relaxed again. She poured the rest of her tea, from the tea pot, and finished it off. No doubt the waitress wouldn't bring her a refill. "It's not a problem." Sara reached into her pocket to be sure she had the card. "Will do. Maybe I should invest in a cell phone, since everyone keeps giving me their numbers." So far pay phones worked well enough, but they weren't everywhere Sara decided to go.
"You take care as well." Sara stacked the plates on the table, as she scooted sideways, and pulled her coat over her shoulders. pausing as she watched Luke. Most blind, didn't want help, so she wasn't sure if she should offer it. "do you want me to guide you to the door?"

From the sound of it Sara was also moving to the aisle so Luke felt that it wouldn't be rude to go ahead and stand up, making ready to leave. As soon as he was on his feet Luke pulled out about ten bucks from his pocket and tossed it down on the table as a tip for their rather negligent waiter.
"Do you want me to guide you to the door?"
"Thanks for the offer, but I should be fine." He replied with as cheerful a smile as he could muster, "It'll give me a chance to practice my directional control."
Turning towards the door Luke's brows knitted together in concenration as he allowed the flood of sonar that had been building up within him to only be released in front of him... as had happened before the control wasn't perfect and he found himself still able to sense a few feet in all other direction, but it was good enough to keep Sara from getting hit by the sound.
"It was nice to meet you Sara." Luke said with one last quick smile over his shoulder before he began walking towards the door. His steps were even, though perhapse a bit quick as he hurried to join the crowd out on the sidewalks. He was releasing some of the sonar but that didn't help the headache to much... things were still building and he needed to get someplace where it was safe to release the full strength for at least a moment or two.
"Interesting people... maybe I'll see them again sometime." He thought to himself before dissapearing off into the crowd.
Sara kept Luke if her peripheral vision, while she walked to the counter. The lady operating the cash register started heading to the back until Sara opened a wallet, and flashed the money. She stopped, and stood 8 feet back from the register, staring at Sara like she was nuts.
“I’ll be back.” Sara said to the lady, who’s face paled, though she staid silent. “this aught to cover things.” Sara left a wad of bills on the counter. Then left.
