The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

ic: Coraline let her feet dangle in the car as she looked out the window. She'd really only met men since she came to this time and seeing the woman in the car made her momentarily think of her mother. A twinge of pain went through her chest but she hid it well. Her big doe eyes looked sad for a moment.
"I can't remember much about my time," she told Zelek. "It comes to me when it wants to. Sometimes people asking questions help. Sometimes I just can't remember no matter how hard I try." she played with a bit of her hair as the car went around some winding turns.
When they pulled into the main road for the mansion she looked up at Zelek expectantly. "Is this where the guitar goes?" she wondered if she'd be getting her Macdonalds soon. Her tummy was still grumbling. She wondered where she'd be sleeping too. It was late and she was feeling tired.

oos: sorry I'm so slow with posting for poor Coraline >.< I'll get a better pace going! ic:
Coraline munched away on french fries again as soon as he showed her the food and gazed out the window. She listened to him talk about losing his memory. "So you're sort of like me. Except I really don't belong here. If I stay too long it might have negative effects on the future so it's pretty important that I remember as much as I can and get back." she runidged through the bags and gussled some apple juice.
"So this is the place." she wondered how they were supposed to contact anyone or if people just came when a car pulled up. "This car is nice but it be cooler if it could float." she winked.
When he began to speak about being a vampire and how it was likely he'd kill her if she stayed around Coraline didn't seem phased at all. In fact she almost looked uninterested. "Actually..." she began "When I get scared or am in extreme danger I port without even knowing it." she admitted. "That's how I ended up here... there was an explosion or something." she strained to remember. "I'd port somewhere before you could even blink- the question is where? Somewhere else in the room? Outside? a few years in the future or maybe a hundread in the past? When I'm scared like that I never know... but sometimes I accidently take... things... with me." she hesistated on the word things. "I'm not supposed to port other people. I don't know what it would be like for a vampire." she thought a moment. "but I guess if you were latched on hard enough part of you if not all would end up porting with me. Now- only part of you if any would end up where I end up. You could end up in little pieces scattered through the fabric of time- or just all over the floor. I move pretty fast."
Now, if this was a big burly guy saying all this it would be easy to take it as a threat- but the way Coraline rattled it off- like she'd said the speech a million times before- just made her all the more interesting.
"Course, if you did try and bite me I might end up back in the future in my home. So I might not be that against it." she gave him a goofy smile. "I have fun with you. You're the only one I know..." she was serious now and her big eyes looked up at him. "Please don't leave me with strangers"

ooc: sorry for the delay! let's reutrn the guitar, i'll bring Raina out since neither of us have really met her and I'd like her too. Then we can leave somewhere!
ic: "Okay." said Coraline kicking her feet down with a smile and opening the door. "Lets go return that guitar and get outta here!" she stood outside the door looking at the huge case. "so big."
She took a step back. "Do you have to sleep? Kendra needs to sleep. She's not bad in the sun either." She looked up at him with interest. "Are you like the vampires in books?" she headed toward the gate checking behind her to make sure he was following. "Hey what is this place again?"
ooc: again, sorry about the suckage with the lack of posting. Hopefully you saw my announcement ... I'm trying to get back in now, Try not to leave you hanging forever.
ic: Coraline made a cross with her fingers but didn't hold them up. She waited til he wasn't looking to do it and nothing happened. She quickly dropped her hands so she wouldn't embaress herself. "I guess I'll do it." she said with a grin hopping out of the limo to the speaker box. She pressed the big red button.
"Helllooooo!!!" she yelled. "Anyone in this joint? We've got a guitar here for some chick!"
she grinned at Zelek and gave him a thumbs up. "So who's your dad?" she asked.

Raina was patrolling the grounds when she heard the intercom go off. She looked at the recieving end with a funny expression. "er,,, one minute." she replied. No sense it pushing the button to open the gates when she was just a short stride away.
She hopped down the steps and headed down the path that led to the main gates. She saw a limo stretched out in front and wondered what type of mutant this one was. When she got close she realized it was two. A young girl, maybe 9 or 10 stood by the speakerbox and a man off to the side. She didn't open the gates yet but peered through as something seemed a little off.

Raina stood stupified for a moment. "Oh!" she exclaimed. "My guitar?" she went to unlatch the gate and get a better look at the two. "I apologize, late at night, strangers showing up at the gate... need to be weary you know." she picked the heavy guitar up and adjusted it in her hands. "Thank God I labelled it. I'm so embaressed..." she thought back to that night and Flloyd. "That I forgot it!" she blushed a little red. "Thank you both so much for returning it to me."
she took a look at the young girl then and felt a small pain of fear. She was really young. Had she been in the bar? They must have both been to het her guitar. Was she a mutant then? Him too?
taking another look she exclaimed, "I do remember you from the bar! You played after me!" she pointed at him. "I liked your stuff! " she hestitated and added "I guess you're both mutants?"
she looked at the young one again "I'm Raina, what's your name?"
Coraline quivered a little when the woman came down the walk and went to Zelek's side. She clung to his pant leg and watched with wide eyes. This woman looked tall and weird. What was with that hair? She watched her take the guitar and decided that was best. When the woman asked her if she was a mutant and what her name was instead of being her usual obvious self Coraline made a face and his behind Zelek yelling "none of your business old guitar lady!"

Raina straightened up at the child's attitude but tried to brush it off. "Cora-line is it? Funny, I've always loved that name." she winked. "Didn't know anyone else had even heard of it before. I read it in a book." she patted Coraline on the head none-the-less and turned her attention back to Zelek.
"Oh, you've been here before? Perhaps before my time then. I've been here about a year and a half. Music teacher actually." she smiled. " 'spose im the all-around guidence councelor too." she admitted. "Though you and I can't be too far in age... I guess that makes me look pretty young for a teacher." she laughed. The man had a very strange youthful ambigious appearance to him. She couldn't decide if he was young or old. When she thought about it more... so did the girl.
"So you're a mutant too Coraline? You're awfully young to have your mutation show though... one of the youngest I've seen!" she exclaimed thoughtfully.
Coraline glared at the woman. There was something about her that didn't quite click and she wished her vampire friend would hurry up and bite the ladies head off or something. She shrugged when the woman addressed her again. "Coraline's not that uncommon, and neither is that book." she bit "I have it at home!" she waved her hand.
She looked up to Zelek when Raina asked if he'd been here before... she was curious too.
"Where I come from everyone's a mutant." spat coraline. "Even the babies." and with that she ported to the other side of Zelek with a BAMF noise and made a face at the woman.

Raina was put off by the youngsters attitude. She considered herself a pretty mild mannered person and didn't expect to be treated-even by a 10 year old- so rudely. She looked back to Zelek and raised her eyebrows at the mention of the Haywire incident. "hmmm." she thought out loud. "That sure was a rough week." she admitted. She pretended to look at a watch that wasn't there. "Well it's pretty late, if you guys don't feel like coming in I think I better head in and you should go home. Little kids shouldn't be up so late mutant or not."

Coraline did notice how dark it was getting. She didn't mind the dark but she was getting sleepy. She wasn't about to follow this red head lady into that big house- she hoped her vampire friend had a place to stay. She turned to him and pulled on him seeming a bit younger. "I can stay out as late as I want but I am kind of tired. We should go.'
