The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Ethan stuck his head out of his room door and looked up and down the hallway, nobody in sight. He stepped out of his room in a red muscle shirt and a pair of cargo khaki shorts, his surf board tucked under his hand. He walked quickly down the hallway his skin illuminating the wall as he goes. He turned a corner and stepped down the stairs quickly, he wanted to get outside without people seeing him. Even his fellow mutants found him odd, always with shocked reactions on their faces whenever Ethan turned a corner and the room lit up. A few kids had made jokes, 'Hey bro have a light?' 'Excuse me i'm trying to read could you stand right there?' So Ethan had locked himself in his room living entirly on the sunlight coming through the window.
But he was going crazy without the wind going through his hair, the fresh air, and the wide open space. And there were no beachs within reason near the mansion so Ethan thought that he'd try something new. When he reached the bottom of the stairs he hooked a left and walked out an exit door. The wind hit his face as a wave of refreshing cool air. Ethan soaked in the sunlight and he felt a burst of energy. Without even looking around Ethan launched himself into the air like a golden bullet, his yellow surf board in tow. He rose through the air bursting through clouds his hair waving crazily. He finally stopped and hovered in the air holding his board under his arm. The mansion looked like a small spec on the ground and Ethan could see in the distance a plane at his level. A wicked grin formed on his face as he placed his boards on the bottom of his feet and stopped flying.
Ethan began to drop like a rock, his board sticking to his feet from the air pushing against it. He carved through the air the same way he had waves back in California. He closed his eyes and enjoyed the sensation of dropping through the air. Like going on a roller coaster and feeling like at any moment you can fly out of your harness, but only there was no harness. The mansion grew bigger as the ground rushed up towards him. He whipped around the front of his board, aiming for the lake.

Ethan flew faster and faster towards the ground. Leaning forward so that he was practically lying down on his board. When he got a hundred yards from the ground he kicked down the back of the boards and flew towards the lake at an agnle. He saw a blue and white blur start spinning around from the lake and lost his consintration. The front of the board dug into the water and flipped him into the water.
Ethan sunk into the water, the board tugging on his left ankle where he had a safty strap attached. It wasn't the first time he had whipped out but the first time he had from that height. He surfaced in the water and gasped for air, he then looked to see what the blurr that had broke his concintration and saw a blue and white man hovering over the water. Ethan shook out his hair and floated out of the water himself, his board still skimming the surface he glided to the man. "What was that man?"

Nathan wanted to fly on this warm afternoon. He hadn't flew in a couple of weeks and was starting to become anxious. Even other people had started to pick up on it. So one afternoon he decided to walk out onto the grounds and just take off. As he reached his launch point he pulled his shirt over his head and set on the ground. You can't grow wings with a shirt on.
Nathan then started to think about Ali. He had figured out that his transformation was triggered by strong emotions. What could be stronger than love? he thought. He used this emotion most often because it was always in supply. Not that he had transformed at will often but it was nice to know what the trigger was so he could do it consciously.
When the pain receeded, it was finished. He stretched his wings momentarily and then launched himself into the air. Nathan had been right. He had needed this flight. He flew lazily, just trying to get used to the sensations again.
Nathan noticed two dots then. One of them was falling at an incredible speed and the other seemed to be racing to meet the first before it crashed into the lake. Nathan knew that he wasn't going to arrive in time to catch them. But nonetheless, he flew faster to investigate these two dots.
The first turned out to be a young man Nathan's age that was giving off a glowing light. The second appeared to be some sort of superhero. The latter was also giving off an aura.
"That was a pretty nasty fall. Are you all right?"

Ethan rubbed the back of his head which was a little sore form the bad landing as the other mutant who looked a bit like he jumped off the page of a comic book spoke. "Well it's not so much as the lake surfing as it is the fall. It's my version of wind surfing." Ethan figured if you were given abilities like his you might as well make the best of them.
"Yeah I glow, kinda hard to miss because of it." Ethan held out his hand to the mutant who plopped into the water. "Names Ethan, but people around here have been calling me sunshine." As he was speaking another mutant flew over, this one had wings. Damn how many flying mutants where at this place. "Nah i've had worse whipe outs then that."

Nathan listened to the other two mutants introduce themselves. Redemption raised himself out of the water and greeted Nathan. Nathan clasped Redemption's offered hand firmly. "I'm called Seraph."
Nathan's ears perked up in interest when Redemption asked Sunshine about whether he would try again. He was wondering what this Sunshine kid would say.

Ethan nodded as the two other flying mutants introduced themselves. He sunk down and sat on top of his board his feet in the water. They asked if he would do it again, Ethan just looked up into the sky and shook his head. "Maybe a few that wipeout hurt." He said rubbing the back of his head.
He looked at the other mutants, "So i guess i'm not the only flyer around here." He looked towards the one that called himself Redemtion. "And i wish i glowed only some of the time, I can't shut it off."
