The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Ghost giggled at the ice people as they greeted her courteously. She poked the man in the tummy. They moved in such a way that her mind interpreted that the ice should feel soft, but it was the same as always - cold and hard and slightly wet. She offered her hand to the woman so that she could climb on like Thumbalina might. Slight temperature differences didn't effect her as they did normal people, she would be able to handle the ice for longer than most would.
“So can you fly? I always wanted to but mine only lets me make high altitude slides.”
This was always a little hard for her to explain. "Not while fleshy." She answered. "and it's not flying... it's more... floating." She thought about trying to explain about how her molecules would disassociate. The looser she was, the lighter she became. She also looked less and less human and more like a fog. It was hard to explain.
“Hey Garrett, so can you cut off the pain receptors, or reduce motor function."
He turned to Sam and said, " Not yet, but I haven't had alot of practice, since anyone I practiced on would not enjoy it." He shrugged. Unfortunately, the only way he could train was to possibly hurt others. To have to hurt others to learn how to stop people from hurting others was quite a task. But with meals like this and plenty of exercise, he felt he would be able to. He also needed to stop in the infirmary and see what the DocProf might be able to do for him.
He was drifting off in thought again. Tomorrow he would need to start training, somehow. After he made sure to go into the city to find some items for his room and some clothes. Perhaps he could find Neena, she seemed more than capable of giving him things to do. But all of this would be after a good night's sleep, which he felt coming on sooner than later. Good food and a day of work demanded a good rest.

“Ghost your not making any sense to me” he said this with a smile, trying hard not to offend her. “So how do you guys like this place so far?”
Sam was a little hesitant at first but then with a calm voice he simply said to Garret, “I can help you if you want I am pretty good at control” he then pointed at the two dolls that were entertaining Ghost.
“Ghost your not making any sense to me” he said this with a smile, trying hard not to offend her.
Ghost cradled the figurine in her hands for a moment, studying it's detail. "It's a bit hard to explain..." She she figured she would show him. It was only fair to explain her namesake - she didn't think Garrett had seen either.
While Sam was offering his help to Garrett, Ghost breathed in sharply and became a 50 percent transparent version of herself. She had enough control to bring her clothes with her, but she opted not to bring the chair and not the figurine. She'd forgotten the figure and it slid through her hand to smash into the table. She 'eep'ed unable to save the small ice woman.
She stayed in the same position so that it would still appear that she was sitting in her chair. In reality, she was just occupying a place in space. She held herself together in the semblance of her usual appearance, it was what made the most sense in her mind. That meant she could drift about, her feet never touching the ground. She was too dense to "fly." If she became fog-like she could really gust about, though.
She couldn't feel much in this state, but that had proved useful at times. "See what I mean? Hard to explain." She stifled a yawn. It felt very natural to be in this state. It was strangely relaxing and that meant the tiredness was creeping up on her.
The comment snapped him from his thoughts. "Oh, no problem, Ghost. Habit, I guess." It was common courtesy and it left him to his thoughts for a while. It had been a good day. He found a home, made some friends and even happened on some money. His Tao was flowing freely and pure. But his eyes were drooping. Best to go on and hit the hay before another long and filled day.
He walked over to the table, looking at Ghost in her semi-corporeal form. " I want to move my hand through you, but I won't,"he said to Ghost. He didn't know why he had the irresistable urge. "It was nice to meet you, Sam, but I have had a long day and I am going to go on to bed." He smiled. He looked at Ghost again and said," and of course, I look forward to seeing you again soon, solid or not," He said with a wink. With that, he turned to make his way to his room and sleep.

“Ghost that is pretty awesome” Sam was looking at her now looking what Sam thought was a cloud. Sam looked at his watch as Garret said he was leaving. “is that what time it is?” said Sam super surprised. “nice meeting you all.” He got up and ran to the danger room, he wanted to get a work out before he went to bed.
She stuck her tongue out after Garrett and waved goodnight to Sam. There was nothing left but to drift off to sleep now. She followed their lead and wandered off her separate way to go to bed.
