The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

They Say that make up artist in the movies take hours to put make up on the actors that look like things, like, oh say, Albino Batmen. The thing is, Neena and Sara only took about twenty, give or take a few, minutes to produce something that would effectively scare James, and scare him for life. And he was the one behind the make up. It was normally the other way around. People behind the makeup scaring everyone else.
"Meh. I'll worry about when the credit card bill comes."
Note to self. Figure out a way to get Neena some cash to help this. Sara was a thief. But an honest thief.
"Good point. As annoying as he was, I have no desire to kill him. D'you? Wonder if he knows how lucky he is. All he'll lose here is his sanity."
“Maybe.” Sara still hadn’t decided if she had a death wish for James. “He did some terrible things but not nearly as bad a some.” It wasn’t like Sara was without sins in the break out. But she wasn’t blood thirsty. That one who fell at her hand wouldn’t just let her go. It was self preservation. “He I lucky someone else didn’t find him, with the way he was.”
Sara put her hand on James’s head and ruffled his hair. Then made it lay the way it had when the camera had stopped. She took up her pose, made sure the remote was hidden in the palm of her hand, and hit the button.
Sleeping Battie’s eyes fluttered open, and for a moment James just stared at Sara and Neena. Forcing his eyes to focus correctly. Fluttering turned to real blinks then just a dead pan stare.
"See James? I told ya you'd feel good during this little trip. And here you were so worried."
James’s eyes shifted over to Neena and his right hand jerked against the restraints, like before.
"I dunno Sara. I think he kinda looks handsome this way. Except for the nose.... Maybe he could cover it with makeup?"
Under the white make up, James’s face was getting red. Wait. Neena’s voice was louder. What was it they did to him, back when he thought he was in a bad dream? A bat? His breath was sucked in sharp, making him choke and his lungs burn, then he pushed it out. Then in then out. Then in then out. Fater and deeper till his longs burned more.
"Where'd we put that mirror.....?"
Sara imitated Neena’s tone. “I thought you had that. It wasn’t small enough to fit in one of the instrument boxes.” Sara looked back and forth, pocketing the remote so that James couldn’t see, as she looked around and made her way to the door. “Oh here it is.” Sara moved the door and there was a 6 foot tall elegant dressing mirror that they had brought in to be sure James could see everything that they did to him. “Could you give me a hand?”
“I thought you had that. It wasn’t small enough to fit in one of the instrument boxes. Oh here it is. Could you give me a hand?”
Neena nodded, and moved to Sara's side to help haul the mirror over. They set it in front of James proudly.
"There ya go, Sweetie. Aww, but you can only see part of it. Hmm...." She frowned and tilted her head. Suddenly she snapped her fingers. James, already horrified from what he could see, let out a sharp squeal at the sudden noise. Neena seemed oblivious as she dragged her chair over, and struggled to turn it on its side.
"There ya go, Sweetie. Now you can see it all!" She grinned happily. "So? What'd'ya think? James? James? Yoo hoo!"
She saw the man hyperventilating, and turned to Sara, seemingly confused.
"I don't think he likes it. I don't understand why?"[/b]
It was amazing how much more white, white could get. The hyperventilating wasn’t something that helped calm you down, and it hurt. No wait. Was that hurt because of the mutation. Did mutants always feel like their longs were on fire. Ha! He wasn’t going to ask these two freaks. Freak. He was a Freak. One of them.
"I don't think he likes it. I don't understand why?"
“You two really are freaking monsters.” James started saying with a horse voice. F*** no he didn’t like this… This… What was this anyways?
Sara smirked at James as she adjusted the chair so that the mirror would balance right. To not break the mirror, and so that James could see himself. “So what should we help you become next?” She clanked at Neena.
"Watch that language Mister." Neena flicked the pale guard on the forehead, sounding more like a teacher in that moment than she ever did at the Mansion. "We're just trying to give you a glimpse into our world is all. You should be grateful. Had anyone else found you, likely you'd be dead now."
She huffed and crossed her arms. "Humans can be so unappreciative sometimes. Not all mutants are monsters."
She turned to Sara. "I think we should see what we can do about that red nose. If its going to be that big, maybe we can increase his sense of smell. Though I don't know if I feel like being nice anymore...."
She glared at James, glad he couldn't see the laughfest going on inside her brain.

"Watch that language Mister."
Sara smiled like a little sister smiles, when big brother gets told off by mom. Oh the flicking of fingers. Fun fun fun.
"We're just trying to give you a glimpse into our world is all. You should be grateful. Had anyone else found you, likely you'd be dead now."
Sara crossed her arms as James tried to take in this information. His one arm was still tugging at the restraints. “You really should relax, James.” Sara crooned as she made her voice sound like a fake soothing tone. Trying to hide the laugh at the back of her throat.
"I think we should see what we can do about that red nose. If its going to be that big, maybe we can increase his sense of smell. Though I don't know if I feel like being nice anymore...."
Sara grinned showing all of her pointed long teeth. “Worst comes to worst, He’ll have a constant sneeze. You know how sensitive noses can be.” She poked her own as she remembered how bad that curry powder had been to deal with. Bad, but well worth her hastle.
“Worst comes to worst, He’ll have a constant sneeze. You know how sensitive noses can be.”
Neena grimaced slightly, remembering the discomfort her little stunts had caused her friend in the camps.
"Sorry Sara. I promise I'll warn you next time. Speaking of which, I'll get the next shot." That way she didn't need to watch if she didn't want to.
James's tugging action increased, and he tried to put his whole body into the effort this time. Neena shook her head, and held up another needle, the liquid in this one a faint bluish-purple.
"You realize this would go faster if you would just stop struggling, and help us out. Just pretend this is all a bad dream. And then...."
She located the vein in his arm again, and slid the thin syringe in.
"..... when you wake up in the morning, this will all be just a bad dream."
She discarded the needle, and once more sat down to wait for the sedative to kick in. She smiled at him lazily.
"Pretend you've been abducted by aliens, Sweetie." She glanced over his head at Sara. "Aliens that just happen to resemble a pair of innocent little mutants."

Ok warning for the next shot. Sara busied herself with a tray of pointy, things, and stabby objects. Stab her with anything but a syringe and the feline would be able to fool someone into thinking it was nothing. someone pulls a syringe on her, and you would think it was a 6 foot sword they were putting in her arm, by the way her pulse would increase.
"You realize this would go faster if you would just stop struggling, and help us out. Just pretend this is all a bad dream. And then...."
Huhh. That's funny. His BPM suddenly dropped. Sara looked over just as Neena was pulling the needle out. Oh bad timing bad timing bad timing... and James was just staring a head. Sara forced her own heart rate down and looked back at James.
"..... when you wake up in the morning, this will all be just a bad dream."
James's eyes were open, staring blankly a head, but there didn't look like anyone was home anymore. She waved her hand in front of his blank eyes. "Are the sedatives supposed to work that fast or did he faint?"
"There's no place like home... There's not place like home." His heals moved against the restraints trying to click together but not quite reaching each other. "Oh look a cowardly liolien...."
"ok...then..." Sara hit the button on the remote hidden in her hand, and the video recorder cut off.
"Are the sedatives supposed to work that fast or did he faint?"
"I don't think so."
Neena leaned over the bed to take a closer look as well. She snapped her fingers a couple of times.
"Ya know? I think he did faint."
"There's no place like home... There's not place like home. Oh look a cowardly liolien...."
"Oooor.... not. Hmm."
"ok...then..."
The African woman shook her head. "I knew this cat was crazy from the day I met him. But I didn't think he was this messed up." she grinned at Sara. "Well, at least we won't have to feel bad about driving him crazy anymore. He was there loooong before we started."
She began rooting through the make-up supplies. "So, should we implant the onion or vinegar smell in that schnoze?" She held up two separate clown noses and grinned at Sara.

Neena lost track of the time pretty quickly once they got going; she was enjoying herself immensely. The Camps had left her in some serious need of stress relief. Every time James looked in the mirror, she felt weeks of tension simply lift from her shoulders and float away on the breeze. She hoped Sara was enjoying herself as much, and was very careful to keep the various needles out of her sight.
Finally she leaned back in her chair, and stretched. James had actually managed to work his wrist almost loose, with all of the twitching and yanking he kept up during his 'treatments'. Another pull and he might actually break free. Neena took that as a cue to stop. She yawned, and stretched.
"Wow, I think I'm tapped. What'd'ya think, Sara? Has he had enough fun yet? He's drooling again." She leaned closer, and poked at the comatose former guard's, currently green, face. "Ya know? I think that smile is stuck."
