The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

“Quoting Acton, you sure your not a philosophy teacher?”
"Nope, just a realist. Philosophy is Ezekiel White's class."
She blinked as Sam all but inhaled his food. "Hmm. I think you may have just beat Ted's speed eating record...."
“That was amazing Neena, or should I address you as Professor?"
Neena immediately wrinkled her nose. "Please don't. Makes me feel old. Neena works just fine." She decided to save the salad for later; the rest required less chewing and would go down quicker.
"Would my roommate be a student that has been here long or newbie like me? If it isn’t to much trouble I wouldn’t mind rooming by myself, but seeing as how you’re a professor here you have the call.”
"I understand. Sorry, 'scuse me." A hiccup reminded her to cover her mouth and finish swallowing, before replying further. "There's still room enough for you to have your own room. It it gets too crowded, I may ask you to share, but for now you're good. You want seconds, or are you ready to go?" She stuck another forkfull of potatoes into her mouth.

Not wanting to be greedy Sam said “I’ll be set for now worse case scenario I will just come get a midnight snack, so lets go check out my room.” For some reason Sam was super excited, wondering it will have more than a bed that he was so used to. So this is a big school, then a thought came to mind co-ed dorms. A smile cracked on Sam’s face as he asked Neena “so is this some private school where guys aren’t allowed near girls indoors or something.” It was an odd question but a legit one, for some reason he got along with girls better than guys, not that he never had any guy friends, or any friend for that matter, but for some reason he just felt more at home with girls.
“I’ll be set for now worse case scenario I will just come get a midnight snack, so lets go check out my room.”
She nodded, and moved to wrap the salad and put it in the fridge. "That'll work. Anything not initialed is fair game for anyone."
“so is this some private school where guys aren’t allowed near girls indoors or something.”
She set the dishes in the sink. "Well," she started, "yes and no. Gals, guys and adults are all in separate halls. And naturally, since there are quite a few of the younger crowd, security's a bit tighter in the halls upstairs. We don't want to encourage brothel behavior, after all." She turned and smiled at him, and walked out into the hall, motioning for him to follow her up the stairs. "But there's no signs outside the doors that say 'No Girls Allowed' or 'No Guys Allowed'. Just be sure you've got an invitation, or you may be in trouble."
She headed down the center hallway for the adults, and began checking for an empty room. Finding one, she unlocked it, revealing a fairly plain area, with two beds, two nightstands, a desk, a closet and a private bathroom.
"Sorry, its a bit dusty from the remodeling, but you can fix the place up however you'd like, within reason. Any questions, m'friend?" She smiled, and handed him the key.

“Not at the moment Neena thanks for all your help.” Sam really meant it; she was probably the most helpful person Sam has ever met before. Stretch his arms and yawning greatly Sam said, “ I’ll take a look around in the morning, need a good night sleep.” Sam stopped for a second, and asked Neena “so do new residents usually get lost?” While he said cracking a smile.
"All the time, m'friend." She mimicked his grin. "All the time. Can't know where you're going until you get lost a time or two. Otherwise the journey is just following some else's path. And where's the fun in that? G'night."
She bowed slightly, and headed back out into the hallway.
