Raina reached around in the dark for the light switch. The door had been creaky and she knew now that even the walls were dusty. This room hadn't been used in a long time. It smelled of mold and other foul smells. Finally her hand passed through a cobweb to find the light switch. It took the lights a moment of flickering to decide if they were going to come on or not and when they finally made up their minds it was only about half. Raina giggled to herself as she stopped to look around the room.
It was still rather dark as all the curtains were drawn and closed. There was a large grand piano in the front of the class completley coated in dust. Raina didn't look at much else in the room until she sat herself on the dusty bench and tapped away at a few keys to be plesantly surprised that they were in tune. She looked up to see three white boards in the room graffittied with old music and long lost lyrics. There was a feeble drumset that would no doubt need some work in the back corner. Chairs were set up in rows with music stands. A few amplifiers and microphones laid dormant against a wall. On the right was a high shelf filled to overflowing with ratty sheet music and music books of all colours. She made her way over and thumbed through a few to find them fairly outdated.
Standing in the middle of the room she took everything in. It was rather derelit but Raina was sure with a bit of cleaning and a bit of light- she thought while walking toward the curtains and dramaticly opening them- that this would make for a lovely classroom.
Now that the room was filled with light she spyed a long counter with a sink. Perched on the counter like elegant birds were shiny wind instruments- a trumpet, a flute, a clairinet. Raina smiled again. It wasn't much, but it was a start.
