The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

HISTORY - Second oldest in a family of four, Lee was raised in Barrie Ontario. Though her mutation began developing earlier, she didn't realize it until just before turning 14, and even then, her family thought perhaps it simply stemmed from some kind of medical condition. Once that solution proved untrue, things changed pretty rapidly. Finally, by age 16, Lee found herself on the streets.
Over the next few years things were difficult, but eventually she made her way to New York, and things began to change for the better. One of the best things came in the form of a man named Tarin, also a mutant. Life went so well, that in five months, the two became engaged.
Then came the Mutant Registration Law, and things began to change, yet again, this time for the worse.
POWERS - Lee's body cannot produce it's own energy. For this reason she must siphon energy from those around her. For the most part, no one knows, nor will feel the drain, unless she actually touches a person. If she pulls in enough energy, Lee's speed and strength increase greatly, up to about twice as fast and strong as a normal human. Who needs energy drinks with a mutation like that? If she touches a person who is asleep, she can even enter their dreams. For more info, check out her character profile.
POSTS TO SEE:
It wasn't supposed to be like this - Lee finds herself up against part of her fiance's mutation, called a merge. Sound's mild enough, right? Right. So mild that it nearly ended their engagement and his life, and brought Detective Rupert Kelly into the mix on top of everything else. Misunderstandings are a beautiful thing.
Fancy meeting you here - After Lee is captured and confined in the camps, Rupert tells her about the impending breakout, and she realizes that he actually is a decent human being. Even if Rupert does deny that
Senses, a must - During the breakout, Lee submits to a merge with Tarin. Amid the chaos, she realizes that she misjudged him. But some things must come first; in this case, getting out alive.
Just can't figure out how she slipped away - The camps are gone, life is back to normal (sort of), and the engagement is still off. It's time for Lee to move out of the apartment she and Tarin shared. Be sure to have your tissue box nearby when you read this one.
Lee's story is far from over, so keep reading. Remember, for every chance there is for things to get worse, there's always the same chance for them to get better.
Thanks guys, this is awesome! I mean, not only Mutant of the Month, but I'd been nominated every month since I joined. And that was awesome too, getting nominated like 2 weeks after joining!
*grins at Rupert* Keep telling yourself that if it makes you feel better.
Thanks again, guys! And Raina, I'm glad my posts make you cry. Well, not glad that you cry, but glad that I've been able to write Lee well enough that the posts have effected you that much. It's really great to hear that.

Congrats to you! You know you totally deserve it! You're a great poster and a great RP partner and I can't wait for us to get through this "bumpy" place in Tarin and Lee's relationship so they can be happy again!
I'm so glad we found this place and it's awesome that if anyone has deserved to be nominated every month it's you!
