The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Skadi had travelled so much around the world, exploring new places, re-visiting old favourites. Although there was two places that she would not go to. One of them was New York, and the second one was England. Her heart panged as floods of memories came over her, quickly shaking them off she began to button up her short white jacket and continued to walk down the street. Her hair was neatly tied up at the back of her head that was held in a silver clip, making some of her hair at the back spike out, then a few loose strands that fell nicely infront of her pale soft face.
Continuing to walk down the road, she was following some laid out directions on a well worn out piece of paper, automatically taking a left turn down the road she finally came to a halt and looked at the building infront of her. Examining both the building and the piece of paper, she quietley said to herself "Well.. I guess this is it.." Taking a deep breath she began to walk towards the entrance. Opening the door she then walked to the elevator and pressed the button. While waiting for the elevator to make it's way down to Skadi, she pulled out a envelope out of her pocket and began reading a little note inside of it. Reading his handwriting made her feel more nervous, looking at his signature "Zeke" she sighed deeply and began to think to herself. " "Why did i come here? Can Zeke really help me understand things?..oh i dont know anymore.. i dont even understand myself. I hope we can talk without biting each other head's off.. our last encounter or should i say.. "seperation" wasn't so sweet. Then again, we are more mature now, and in his letter he does keep saying about his sweet Evie..
Suddenly woken up from the daydream she heard the bell of the elevator and stepped in, then pressed level 3. Beginning to fiddle with her hair while waiting, the elevator came to a sudden jolt, then with a "bing" the doors opened. Walking out skadi scanned the floor, zeke did say he disabeled all the security devices.. i sure hope he was telling the truth and i dont get blown up.. Continuing to walk down the hallway, her senses were electric, she could hear everylittle noise that was going on it that building, the little tip tap of feet walking. it seems safe.. she reached his door. Quickly putting the letter and directions in her jacket pocket, she nervously tapped quite lightly and quick on his door. Feeling on edge she began tapping on the floor with her dark blue boots while she waited for him...

OOC: Assuming this takes places after the camp breakout. I invented the nickname Ki (said like sky) for Zeke to use for Skadi. I figured if they were close at one oint he would probably have such a name for her. Hope you don't mind.
As Zeke always did this time of the day (if he wasn't practicing with his weapons), he was sitting at his security desk and probing some web site for mutant news. The breakout had been a sucess and Evie was safe, amazing. But it hadn't been easy since then. That was for sure. He still kept his security up to defend himself, and he wasn't takingany chances.
At the moment, Evie was out, doing some shopping or such. Coming out of the camps had been rough on her, and she needed constant alone time these days. And Zeke had done a little prodding to get her to leave today anyways, because an old friend was coming to town.
Zeke glanced at the monitor to the right of his computer and saw nothing, the hallway was clear so far. He had disengaged the security system, but left his cameras on. He always kept the cameras on. Without the system up, Ezekiel felt very vunerable, so he had his Desert Eagle magnum sitting on his desk beside his mouse, saftey on. He wasn't expecting any trouble, but he was a very cautious guy. Years of watching his back because of the Shma's death had taught him that.
"Ki." He let the name roll off his tongue slowly and thoughtfully. He hadn't seen her in over two years, and had only kept in touch with few and far between letters. He had learned she was in a funk as to how to deal with her powers, so his last letter had included an invitation to New York, where Zeke promised to help her develop her abilities.
The pain was decidedly there. Ki... why did this happen to us? Zeke had been involved in three romances in his life, and Ki had been his first. Two years ago they had met in England, and after a year of romance they had to call if off, Zeke had went back to Israel and she had returned to Iceland. The breakup conversation had not went well, especially seeing how Zeke was the one who had decided to call it off. She probably still resents me for that... He let his mind worry. Seeing an old flame was not the most fun of meetings. Still he cared for her like a sister, and didn't want her to go undeveloped, thus the offer for her to come to New York. He had even paid for her flight.
Evie didn't know anything about it, and maybe that was wrong. Zeke didn't know if he should tell her or not, but he decided that he shouldn't, not yet. No point. She did know about his past relationship with Skadi, she just didn't know that Ki was coming to town.
An image appeared on the camera, and Zeke recognized a woman's form approaching his door. Ki. He heard a knock and stood and walked to the door, bracing himself for the flood of memories and pain that accompanied his seeing her. With a steady hand, he drew the door open.
There she stood. Medium height, nice build, the typical boots. As far he could see, very little had changed about her. He did notice the white jacket, that he hadn't seen before.
But it was her face that brought out the emotions. The white blonde hair that spiked in the back, always. The deep green eyes and the beautiful curve of her facial features. It took him back two years, when he really didn't want to go there.
For a second he stood there, staring at her. Awkward... Then, he stepped forward and said, "Ki, so good to see you!" and gave her a brotherly hug. "I'm so glad you came, please, come in. Evie's out right now... I'll fix you a cup of coffee if you like." He stepped back, ushering her into the room. He prayed that she hadn't caught the quiver of emotion in his voice.
OOC: We really should go back and do some history threads! They are always so much fun!
