Gender: male Age: 28 Nationality/Ethnicity: American/Caucasian Birthplace: Portland, Oregon Personality: outgoing, inspirational – or at least he thinks of himself that way Notes (Hobbies, Phobias, Worries, etc.): He’s a hard worker and he tends to think in terms of how his actions are going to affect his chances at his job – low-level manager at King Pharmaceuticals. He always calculates the risks before using his powers. His biggest fear is being publicly humiliated – it’s the only time he feels the strong urge to use his powers in public. He tries to keep a level head for that reason. Other than that he doesn’t have any significant fears, but he often has worries centered around his wife. His hobbies tend to revolve around reading things, often from the Internet or other people’s servers. He most prized possession is his Blackberry, but he’s also inordinately fond of his laptop, cell phone, camera, iPod, and Solara. Allegiance (Good, Bad, or Neutral): Good in general, but his company’s enemies are his enemies…

Description of abilities: Electronic Transmission, Data Vision, and Machine Control – he can break down his body into a stream of data, submit himself along data channels, and enter any sort of machinery with a computer chip – computers, cars, cell phones, automatic can openers… This tends to be a very quick way to get around. He is also able to see data being transmitted, making it easy for him to locate data streams to tap into. Last, his can control any machine that he can enter, once he has entered and possessed it. Thus he can cause it to do anything that is within its normal functionality – in some cases, like the can opener, that will be on or off. But in the case of a computer he can run programs, edit files, etc.
Cons (weaknesses) of abilities: Electronic Trans - He is completely vulnerable for 2-4 seconds as his body breaks up and begins to cohere into the chosen data stream – he is visible but unable to take any action to protect himself. If he can’t enter the data stream for some reason he’ll be vulnerable for even longer, 8-10 seconds, before reforming. If something forces him to cut out of a data stream in the middle he’ll not only be vulnerable as he reforms but it will also likely be in public, and maybe even high above the ground. Also he has to be able to get to the chip to enter a machine - no go if it’s protected or cut off from a power source.
Data vision - he can’t read it or even see what kind of data it is without breaking himself down into data, and even then if it’s encrypted he’s out of luck. Also, in places where there is a lot of data (like New York City), it gets in the way of his normal vision, making it impossible for him to drive, for example, without a lot of concentration and care.
Machine Control - as mentioned he is limited to the machines’ normal functionality. Also he doesn’t have his normal senses while possessing a machine and must use the machine’s, if any. Thus in some cases, like the can opener, he’ll have nothing, not even a way to tell if there’s a can to open. If the machine has peripherals they are his senses, though – he can hear through mikes and see through cameras, and more exotic senses like global positioning sense if the machine has GPS, etc.
Fighting style (if any): what he can remember of his brief self-defense class in high school – arm lock breaking, eye gouging, etc.
History of your character: He managed to have a completely normal childhood in Oregon as part of a family of four, without even realizing he was a mutant until he was almost out of high school. Even then he avoided causing a stir and graduated from high school and college normally. He got his job at King Pharmaceuticals and has dedicated himself to it, moving slowly up the ranks in management. He’s willing to use his power to get ahead of the competition by infiltrating rival companies’ servers, but he always thinks hard about it before going through with it. He got engaged and then married to a wonderful (in his eyes) woman named Christine, who seems to know what he’s doing and where he is at all times…very peculiar. But convenient. They haven’t had any significant points of contention and they’ve even been considering having kids soon, which will be a whole different adventure. In the meantime he’s still dedicated to his job as his top priority. He has not been caught and forced to register as a mutant.
Sample RP: Freddie closed the door and sat back down at his desk. He glanced vaguely at his watch even though he knew perfectly well it 4:30ish and that was enough – most of his coworkers were huddled down in meetings or getting ready to go home. If he was going to take a little excursion it wasn’t going to get any easier than now.
He shifted his briefcase nervously. Just thinking about popping out of the office shot his productivity to hell and he knew he would have to make the decision one way or the other, and soon. He glanced up at the narrow window next to his door, but there was only the blank fuzzy gray wall of the hall, as usual.
In a way it was worse since he had been moved into the office. Before, when he was in his cubicle, there was never any question of being able to pop out briefly. It didn’t come up. But now he was just out of the way enough, just protected enough that it was a temptation. Larry could still walk in at any minute to talk to him about tomorrow’s plans. Katherine or anyone from down the hall could choose just that moment to use the restroom and see him through his little strip of window. But…when could he do it if not now?
It helped, somehow, to think that he was only doing it to help his company. If they caught him he would just explain the situation, show that he was merely following up on the rumor that Pfizer had landed a huge contract with the San Diego hospitals on the basis of their new cervical cancer vaccine. That would make it all right…right?
He glanced up at the fuzzy gray strip of wall one more time and then closed his eyes to concentrate on breaking up his body. He could feel the tingle that indicated that it was working and his eyes immediately went back to the strip of fuzzy gray wall. It always felt like an eternity before the tingling stopped and his senses shifted to his new form. Tick tock tick tock. Fuzzy gray wall. All it would take would be for one head to show up and swivel to face him…
No head came. The room disappeared and he found himself in the old familiar expanse of numbers. Well, he was safe again for the moment. Now to get over to Pfizer…

Fantastic character! very itneresting power, especially in this day and age I'm n00b the mod for new memebrs as you know Im happy you placed limitations on your character but would you mind PMing me about weaknesses? We're trying to have members really think about a right out weakness for their character be it an ellement, a power (like physic powers) or even a fear, just PM and we'll chat Love the character!
