Personality: One of the first things you will notice about Luciana is that she is obviously shy, especially around people she doesn't know. She is confident in herself, but she doesnt feel the need to be loud in order to get noticed. Her friends, or people who know her, in general see her as being kind, and she genuinely seems to care about other people. She is sensitive and reserved, but people who take the time to get to know who realize that she is fun to be around when she's comfortale with you. She jokes around alot with friends, and enjoys to dance, and have fun, like most girls her age. Her initial reserved demeanor is due mainly to her previous lifestyle, of travelling with her parents all the time, never getting to settle down, and make some solid, reliable friends.
She thinks she is stronger than most people, due to her past, but that is her downfall. She THINKS she is so untouchable, but in reality, she can easily be convinced to do things, especially in her need to be wanted/loved by other people. Smooth words can easily sway her to act out of character, and make certain mistakes, but she doesn't even realize it. Still, she is a loving, sweet person by nature, and tries to look out for people who she cares about.
Notes: Luciana's hobbies include dancing, acting, and gymnastics. she loves to dance especially, and her background in gymnastics makes her seem like a good fighter, though she actually isn't. Luciana has one main fear, completely unrelated to her past or her powers. She has a deathly fear of all types of spiders, particularly tarantulas. This is a misc. note, but Luciana speaks with a heavy accent, since her first language is Italian. She also speaks French. English is her 3rd language.

Everyday clothing: Luciana likes to dress simple, yet leave an impression on people. She wears mainly dark colors, especially black. She can be seen most of the time wearing all black, or black, and another color. She likes to wear a simple pair of jeans and a tank-top. She also wears skirts, and dresses frequently, but nothing ever too showy. Luciana cannot be seen wearing anything but high heels. She always wears stilleto heels, which make her six foot tall frame appear even taller. This however, doesnt make her very combat-ready.

Hair color and style: Her hair is very curly, dark brown, almost black, and reaches a little below her shoulder blades when it is curly. She occassionally straightens it which makes it appear way longer.

Build: Luciana has a tall, slender build. Since she dances alot, and used to do gymnastics, she stays in shape, but is naturally lean to begin with. She has naturally long limbs, especially her legs, which make about two thirds of her body.
Scars: Luciana has 15 scars, all on her left arm. 9 scars are on her forearm, and 6 are on her upper arm. They are from her early teen-hood, when she used to cut herself, though they look abit faded.
Tattoos: Luciana has no tattoos
Piercings: Luciana has no piercing's either, not even pierced ears.
Description of ability: Luciana has control over one very powerful force, gravity. She can do two different things, both dealing with gravity. She can increase and decrease the weight of an object, so that she can lift it up, or if it's already in the air, cause it to fall quicker than it normally would. She unfortunately has poor control over this ability, due to a lack of good training. In order to lift the object up, she needs to decrease the weight lower than her's. She can help someone to levitate by doing this, but it causes discomfort in the target, discouraging most from asking her to lift them up. She can use this as a form of offense, but it requires great mental focus. Luciana has trouble doing tis while in motion, because it takes the control of her, as well as her target, so she likes to do this while standing still. Increasing the weight of an object has a similar effect, but it basically pulls the object down, or makes it harder for it to rise, if it's already on the ground.
Her second ability, also related to gravity, is that she can create her own gravitational pull. This can draw things toward her, almost like telekinesis, but she doesnt have the control over the object(s) like a telekinetic would. The things she draws have to be less than her natural weight, or else they will take a great deal of energy to draw to her. She also has to be careful about what the object is. If it's something big, or something sharp like a knife, making it go to her could harm her, or possibly even kill her if she's not cautious.
Cons of ability: Weaknesses: Because Luciana deals with gravity, her mutation has one glaring weakness. The ground on earth is what prevents the earths gravitiational pull from drawing all objects and organisms alike, to the earth's core. Her ability works in a similar way. If there are any substances that are related to the earth, meaning soil, dirt, or mud, that are in contact with her skin, her power becomes nullified.
Also, because gravity is a weak force by nature, if she and another mutant who has the power to move objects, (like a telekinetic for example) are both trying to move the same object, Luciana's power will most likely be negated, unless the object is too heavy for the telekinetic to move, in which case, gravity would kick in, and Luciana would be in control of the object.
Limitations: Both of Luciana's abilities have major drawbacks. Her first ability lacks power, as she hasn't had any professional training, so she cant do much with it. Also, this ability can only affect targets within a 25 foot radius of Luciana. Her second ability requires a great deal of caution, for if she is not careful, she could put herself in harm's way. She cannot direct her gravitational pull to anyone, or anything in particular. She causes something withing a 25 foot radius, that is in the direction facing her, to move toward her. If she is pushing something away from her, as soon as it leaves the 25 foot radius, she no longer has control over it. Because of this, she cannot draw certain small objects to her, and she has to be directly facing her target. If he/she/it is hiding behind something, then Luciana will draw that thing toward her, rather than the designated person.
One weakness that both of her abilities share is that she must concentrate while using her abilities. This means that, in most cases, she cannot move while using her powers. Occasionally, her powers activate when she is overtaken by a strong emotion, such as anger, grief, or even love, in a way that doesn't grant her control over her own power.
Fighting style: None. Weak physically, and no fighting training. She is agile due to her gymnastics training, and background in dancing, but that's it.
History of your character: Luciana Ansonia was born an only child, in Rome, Italy to a biracial mother who was a travelling singer, and an Italian father, who showed signs of abusive behavior early on in her childhood. Because her mother was always travelling, Luciana often had to go weeks without seeing her, and had to move frequently. This resulted in her having a hard time making friends, and her father had to raise her. From the time she was 8, until her 15th birthday, her father would to physically abuse her. He often times beat her, and this left her to become withdrawn, and suspicious of people. When she turned 13, the abuse became worse. He began to rape her, and even left her with little to no food for days. No matter how much she wanted to be free of his abuse, he had the intimidation factor, and convinced her that no one would believe her story.
To make matters worse, she realized during this time, that she was indeed, a mutant. It was a rainy night. One of the many nights where Luciana's father decided to rape and abuse his defenseless daughter. The event had already taken place, and Luciana was, yet again, immobilized by fear, and terror. A few minutes after he left her bedroom, she let out a loud scream. To her shock, the table near her bed began to move in her direction. She forced herself to stop crying, as the table drew nearer and nearer. as soon as she focused all of her attention on the table, it was viciously thrown away from her direction, toward the wall. This left her stunned. Though it had been a dark midnight, she could not bring herself to fall asleep. She stood up all night, with thoughts filling her mind. For the first time ever, she was distracted from her brutal rape and molestation.
When Luciana turned 14, she began to cut herself, as a way to deal with the pain and stress of her everyday life, her secret mutant abilities, and the abuse of her father. She became even more withdrawn, and would often times spend entire days locked in her room, with no desire to interract with anyone on the outside world. Life got harder to deal with, and it all came to a head when she turned 15 years old. It was at her birthday party. The few guests her parents invited left relatively early, for she was depressed, and was not enjoying the party. Her mother pressured her, asking, why she wouldn't have fun. Luciana blurted out everything. How she felt about her mother salways being gone, constantly moving, her cutting herself, her mutation, and of course, her father's abusiveness. This event openned the door to even more stress.
By the time Lucana had turned 16, her father had been put in jail for life, since he was charged on rape, abuse, endangering the welfare of a child, and many more charges, even outstanding warrants that neither Luciana, nor her mother had known about prior to the incident. Her mother decided that it was time for a fresh new start. After a long time of brooding, she decided to give up the life of a travelling singer, and move to America. She knew little english, but luckily for Luciana, she knew alot more about the english language than her mother. over in America, Luciana's mother made her go to therapy. Luciana was very much against the idea at first, but she eventually learned to accept that she needed to get over the ghosts of her past. While it was a helpful means of recovery from her past, Luciana wasn't "healed" instantly, and she realistically still has many issues that she struggles to deal with, everyday of her life.
She also began practicing the use of her mutation in private, but she doesn't yet know what she wants to do with her powers. Her mother at first, pretended that Luciana's revelation of her mutant abilities never happened, but she slowly, but surely grew to accept it, and love her regardless of her differences. Her father remains imprisoned, and will remain that way for the rest of his life. Luciana still hasn't visited him, though her mother did. To this day, Luciana does not know what her mother talked about with her father, but she knows that from that day on, they lost contact.
Sample RP: It was a cool, crisp Sunday morning. Luciana decided to take a walk outside, away from the loneliness of the apartment she rented alone. She was wearing a black tank top, with a pair of black jeans. She often took walks while alone, because that is when she could enjoy peace, and tranquility. She walked into a garden, with some flowers beginning to bloom. She sat on a little bench, and took out her journal, which she took great care of. She turned to her next blank page, and began writing.
"February 14, It is Valentine's Day, and I still haven't met anyone. It's been a couple of months since I've moved by myself, and while I do so enjoy being independant, I do feel kind of alone here. While I don't have any enemies here, I do feel a bit out of place here, I even thought about leaving, I realized that this is the best place for me. Living alone. I do think of all the freinds I've known over all these years. I wish I had someone here."
Luciana put her pen down, and looked around. There was still no life outside. The breeze began to pick up, and it blew her hair. She decided that she should head back towards her apartment, she she put her diary, and her pen into her handbag. Luciana began walking back to her apartment, although she was in no hurry.
"Hmm. Another day to get through. I just hope that things will be different," she said to herself aloud. "Maybe I should try to be more outgoing. Then maybe people will notice me. Nah, maybe I should just go out more."
She approached the apartment, walking slower and slower. As she entered the building, she noticed that the place was just as quiet as it was when she left. She walked up to her room, and plopped herself on her bed. She began writing in her diary again.
" I had an idea. Maybe I can invite some people from the neighborhood out to a club or something. If only I could muster up some courage to step out of my comfort zone."
"Nah, that wouldn't work" she said aloud. Without thinking, she buried her head in her pillow out of frustration.
