The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Kitra sat on a bed and looked up at Hunter. "I still would like to get my sketchbooks back from Zephyr if possible." She smiled, "They have my sketches of some of the order member's."
Hunter set Tris down on a bed where the doctors began to take care of her. Turning to Kitra he took a seat next to her on the bed. “Don’t worry,” he assured her, “you’ll get them back. And that was some good work today, from both of you. There’s room for improvement, but I’m very impressed.”
“You both worked well together and looked out for one another, though you got a little too attached for your own good. You thought about each obstacle and worked out how to overcome it with your powers and never once gave up, even when things looked hopeless. I’m proud of both of you, and would gladly have you fight by my side.”
She blinked and opened her mouth to speak and shut it again. 'Hunter just praised us both. That's awesome.' She opened up her mouth again and words actually came out this time, "Thank you Hunter." Kitra looked at the ground and twiddled her fingers a bit. "Hunter" She paused, Kitra wasn't sure how to really put this but she needed the help and she couldn't have it hold her back either. She sighed, looked up and began again, "Hunter I need some way of training so when I have copies of people out and fighting in my place, that I don't feel all of the pain that they're feeling." She paused and sighed again, "How would I go about doing that?"
Hunter smiled. Kitra had spotted a weakness in herself and was now seeking to rectify it. He couldn’t ask for more. “There is one possibility I can think of, though it will require me letting you in on a big secret of mine.”
He paused, waiting to see if she was willing to push the matter. His psychic talents were largely unknown to people, and he liked to keep it that way. However, if this was something she wanted to pursue he could always instil the desire to keep his secrets, just like he did with Calley.
She looked up in full determination, "I need to fix this Hunter. I can't be a liabilty to the team." She looked down and whispered, her voice full of determination still, "I refuse to be."
“In that case,” said Hunter with a smile, “I suppose I can tell you. I have psychic abilities, as well as my physical ones. With some time and effort I believe I can alter your thoughts and thereby sufficiently detach you form your copies without losing control of them.”
Hunter wasn’t sure it was possible, but seeing as when her inanimate creations were damaged she didn’t feel pain this should be little different. It would just take some work, and probably no small amount of pain on her part.
Kitra looked up her eyes full of surprise, "That's pretty neat. And I will happily allow it." She paused as a slow grin made its way on her face. "But, on one condition." She held up her pointer finger, "We continue physical training as well. But without using my powers." She took on a serious tone, "I need not to rely on my powers." She sighed, "If that training session was for real then I would have gotten us killed." Kitra shook her head, "It cannot happen again."
“Good,” said Hunter with a hint of pride in his voice, “You’re taking this seriously. This isn’t all fun and games, when it’s real and Tris’s life is really on the line you want to be ready, and I’ll make sure you are.”
“I’m going to have the trainer’s step up your physical training a notch. Whenever I can find the time we’ll work on blocking out the pain from your creations. But for now you need to rest and recover. No point working yourself to death.”
"Excellent." Kitra yawned, "I think I need some sleep." One of the medical staff came over and treated her cuts and put ointment on them and her bruises. After a bit they walked off leaving her and Hunter once more. She looked at Hunter, "Thank you Hunter. It will help a great deal." Her eyes narrowed, "Hunter how are we going to fight this registration bill?"
*OOC: Hunter TT was right after we retrevied Shogun from Japan I just took a look at the beginning of TT lol whoopsies ^_^*
“Don’t worry about that for now,” Hunter said as he rose from the bed, “Currently I have everything in hand. You just get some rest. We’ve got a tough road ahead of us.” Hunter was very impressed by Kitra’s determination, and began to mentally involve her more in his plans than he had originally intended.
Kitra nodded and yawned again. She was tired and did need the rest. And to let her battered body heal. As she and Tris had just retrieved Shogun from Japan the day prior, then had proceded to the obstacle course. Yea, it had taken a toll on her and Tris. And she really needed to find an off switch for her brain, it just didn't want to shut up. Er, at all. Kitra looked up slightly out of it as one of the docters came over to her bed.
"You need some sleep." She held out a cup of steaming liquid, "Drink this tea, it might help."
Kitra took hold of the cup and blew on the steaming liquid. And proceded to drink it down and felt the cup slip from her grasp as her vision faded and her muscles went lax. Her hearing went last and she thought she heard the docter say, "Well, she did need the rest. I just helped her along is all." Kitra's last thought, 'That was rather nice of her. Really really ni....' And all went dark.
Hunter watched as one of the doctors brought over some tea for Kitra. His enhanced sense of smell could pick up the sedative in it, but it was undetectable to a normal person. Soon enough Kitra was out like a light.
Hunter caught her before she fell and lay her down on the bed next to Tris’s. With the session done he now had many things to do, and so left the two girls sleeping peacefully while he went to plan the next stage.
Hunter returned to the infirmary to see if Tris was awake. He wanted to review the session with her like he had with Kitra. Kitra had taken the criticism well, and it had shown in her decision to go through with the painful process of partially severing the link with her copies.
Tris didn't know what time it was, what day it was, where she was, but at least she had the who part right, right? She'd been swimming in and out of consciousness for days? hours? weeks? seeing random blurs wander around against a sparling white backdrop- were they people or shadow dancer? Thinking was confusing right now.
She felt sluggish and tired- like can't be bothered breathing tired, and her whole body felt heavy, and kinda numb. God, she hoped it was all still there and in working order. Risking herself and more energy than she should have just to get a stupid gold disk, even if she'd gotten carried away, was stupid, and she was now paying the price. Tris felt like she had the worst hangover in the history of ever, combined with a delicious jet lag/flu type combo making the bleary blink and reopen of her eyes a momentous achievement. She had been mutely starring in fuzzy fascination at the blankets cross hatch weaving pattern draped around her lap, when she heard the sound of shoes crossing the floor... When her brain actually worked this information out and provided her with the options, she looked up...
Into silver eyes she no longer trusted. "You." she whispered horsely; "You tied me up and threw me down a hole......you tried to kill me!" the accusation loud even with her soft and husky voice.
Tris dully glared at those silver eyes, she was so mad right now, but it was impotent rage- she couldn't run, couldn't move even, too tired to get three steps, to tired to even halfheartedly try blow him up, to tired even to think of a good plan.
The atmosphere was emotionally highly charged for Tris, the air seemed to crackle with life around her almost, something had to give, and suddenly it did.
With a sharp sound, the light globes all throughout the infirmary started to shatter, raining tiny glass pieces down on the room- sharp tiny razor pointed blades of pain some might think....Tris thought it looked pretty.
((OOC: Just a friendly warning Hunter- Tris used up alot of energy pulling the stupid stunts she pulled and with using a level of control over stuff she normally doesn't have, so um- she's not exactly feeling her best right now, needs alittle more sleep, and she'd not exactly thinking with the full deck ....more reacting.....just so ya know))
Hunter could clearly see that Tris was in a bad mood. This became more evident as she shattered all the light bulbs in the room. Dismissing the doctors and nurses with a wave Hunter’s keen eyes focused on the prone form of Tris as he brushed glass from his shoulders.
“I see that the bed rest has done nothing to dampen your temper,” he commented, “And just so you know, you were perfectly safe through out the entire exercise. In fact the biggest risk to yourself was overexerting yourself.” He didn’t bother to add that she had quite clearly done just that.
