The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Hades summoned a techie over. “James, please guide Mr Taz here to the canteen.” He turned to Taz, “Sorry but I need to deal with the boss first.”
Turning to Kaz, Hades beckoned him over as a medical table rose out of the floor, it was essentially a block, with clamps. “If you would not mind lying on the table Kaz we can begin.”
Kaz followed Hades to the table and laid down. Not sure of how Hades did procedures like this, if he would be asked to change into some hospital shirt or not, he decided to wear a fairly crappy shirt that he didn't care for at all. "How long do you think this and recovery will take Hades?"

"How long do you think this and recovery will take Hades?"
Hades raised an eyebrow, “with your body? You be feeling a wee bit weak for a day or two and have a sore throat as your throat gets used to the implant, but max give it like 3 days, best of all it will not impair your movement in any way, and essentially if anyone tries to shoot you or elbow you in the throat, you will not gag, as you essentially now have a mini armour plate in front of it.”
The needle went in, soon Kaz’s eyes closed. Hades fingers danced over the keyboard as robotic arms soon moved into place.
In an hour’s time, it was done, and the last injection was to bring Kaz round. “welcome back to the world of the living Kaz, it is done, please enjoy.”

((OOC: The funny thing about this right now...I actually have a really sore throat XD ))
Kaz nodded slightly as Hades explained the recovery time. <Would have thought it would be longer.> He chuckled to himself inwardly, <But what do I know, I'm no doctor.> Kaz barely registered the slight prick against his skin as the needle slid in, within moments his eyes shut and his world went black.
While his body was out light a light, his mind was still going. Whether it was an actual dream or just a 'day dream', Kaz wouldn't know. Ahead of him on a lonely strip of New York, cars and people were absent. The only thing he saw was a Stalker at the end of the block, not surprisingly it looked exactly like the one Hunter had shown everyone during the meeting. His adrenalin pumped through his system as he assumed a defensive-offensive stance. The anticipation of the fight quickly faded away as Kaz saw his arms covered in a large metal 'casing' of sort from his elbows down, semi-robotic hands sticking out and something cold against his face. Reaching up he felt what he could only guess was a metal plate covering half of his face and eye. While this was interesting and alarming at the same time, something else surprised and confused him. He felt the metal with his fingers, cold and smooth. Realizing his hands weren't just covered, they were his hands. He felt no resistance of any kind where his wrist met his forearm. Not only were his hands and half of his face, but so too were his forearms, and who knows what else.
The Stalker down the street faded into nothingness as Kaz placed his opposite hand on a groove in his forearm armor. He wanted to pull it off, to get rid of it. He didn't, couldn't do it. He felt scared? Of course. He didn't want to realize his fear was reality. Fear....not something Kaz was use to but oh yes he felt it. Somewhere in him he also felt he needed these...things, that they were important, that he depended on them.
Sighing he dropped his arms to his side and looked down the street again, only to see a mirror in front of him. He began to slowly look himself over from the bottom of the mirror to the top. As he reached his waist, the world began to blur and become foggy, when he go to his neck, he could barely see himself. As he faded back into consciousness, all he could remember seeing was a bright, blood red, mechanical eye looking back at him.
“Welcome back to the world of the living Kaz, it is done, please enjoy.”
It took a moment for Kaz to recognize the man's voice. It took another moment for him to make a sound with his voice that didn't sound like something was clawing at his throat. Lower in tone and a bit more raw, "Thanks Hades." Kaz turn himself slowly on the table as he sat up, swinging his legs over the side. <So far, so good.> Kaz put one foot on the floor, then the other with no ill effects. Steadying himself he took a step forward and felt himself wobble a great deal. "Woah." Clearing his throat to talk, "That stuff has quite the effect." After a few more steps Kaz felt confident he would be fine, besides looking like he was drunk off his ass. Swallowing, "Gotta get me some water." He raised his hand as if to say 'Later' to Hades as he made his way out.
