The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Deja began listening to every world, veryone around her was saying. It seemed like the only one who agreed with her was Katrina. Not saying the guys point of view were wrong, because they weren't. '' Look guys,so were 'different', and you may have rock hard hands." Deja looked at Geo, he did have rock hard hands and arms. Deja then smiled. "Anyways I don't blame humans, I don't blame anyone. Yes,were in a war, where we could die. I'm aware. But we just gotta hope, that we will make it. Don't give up,any of you!" Deja then looked at Katrina and Calley.
"Also, war's aren't about physically fighting. All that does is more chaos. Its about 'brains'! So,from the looks of it, you guys are smart.'' Deja was trying to change the mood. "Now..can I ask you a question?" Deja looked at Katrina and Calley.
" Why'd you get a blt sandwhich, you couldn't have picked a plain ham sandwhich. With Ham, and bread? " Deja then started chuckling, as, she rubbed Geo's back, with her hand. She was talking about how a BLT was messy, and a plain ham sandwhich was alot more less messy.
A million thoughts swirled in Katrina’s head as Calley yelled about mutants being murderous freaks. The X-men train mutants to kill humans. Who were these X-men people? They sounded really bad.
Mutants aren’t human. I’m not human. What does that mean?
Calley’s parents rejected him. Geo’s parents rejected him. Could humans and mutants be in the same family? Apparently not. Now she was a freak and everyone knew it except for her dad.
Tears welled up in her eyes. Her family would never be whole again. Her father would hate her if he found out. That’s probably why her mom kept it a secret for so long.
“Anyways I don't blame humans, I don't blame anyone,” Deja was talking now, but Katrina only half heard her words.
Blame. Whose fault was this? Her own father had helped make the freaking registration law. He hated mutants. He would never accept her.
And her mom. Did she not want her around anymore because she didn’t want Katrina to ruin her secret? If her mom was a mutant, than no one was really trying to kidnap her. That had been a lie. Her mom lied because she wanted her out of the house.
Deja said something about a sandwich, but Katrina didn’t listen. The tears wouldn’t go away. There were too many now and they started their way down toward her chin.
Her parents didn’t want her anymore. That’s why she ended up here. With a bunch of other family-less, reject, stupid, mutant freaks.
She spun on her heel and pushed past Calley with a sob, out the door and into the hallway. She turned around the corner and realized she had absolutely nowhere to go. She leaned against the wall and slumped down to the ground with her face in her hands and just cried.

Calley
It was good to see he had an ally in Geo--at least one other person here agreed that they weren't human, plain and simple. When Deja kept spouting stuff that even Calley would feel stupid saying, he wanted to call her on it. Instead, he took that urge, and balled it up in the back of his brain for the rest of the clutter to toss around. Her stupid subject switch was perfect. He was willing to go with that. Yes--by all means!--randomly change the topic to something inane and more pointless than a porcupine at the bottom of a tequila glass. Calley couldn't have done it better himself. Let the descent into uncaring mindless moment-to-moment existence begin!
I think, perhaps, I am not the only bitter individual in this room.
That's because you aren't an individual at all, Slate.
...Lovely.[/i]
They were startled out of their inner dialogue by the sudden pressing need to not fall on their face. Katrina had pushed them? What the-? Wait, was she crying?
Calley veered off after her, more out of bafflement than anything else. The young lady hadn't gotten far. He sat down cross-legged in front of her, thinly resisting the urge to poke at her. "You okay? What's going on?" He asked, quite curiously.
Her cries were more like sobs now, sobs that caused her to gasp for air in shuddering breaths.
“I…I…”
The words just wouldn’t come out, so instead she threw her arms around Calley’s neck and buried her face in the shoulder of his baggy t-shirt still crying quite uncontrollably.
Tristan watched as the young girl ran into the hallway suddenly and he got a painful feeling in his heart, he hated making people cry. He removed his arms from around Deja and ran of after her into the hallway behing Caleb. As he rounded the corner he saw that she had buried her face into Caleb's shirt. "Are you ok, whats wrong." He kneeled down so that he wasn't towering over her. "I didn't mean to hurt you with what i said about humans."
Deja noticed Katrina tear up, and felt so bad. She didn't want the girl crying,it would just make this place seem even more gloomy. Deja, was so concerned for the girl, as she ran out of the room. Deja, then noticed, the guys go after her and she followed. As soon, as she noticed the girl she spoke. "I'm sorry,if I said anything wrong, cheer up. It's gonna be okay." Deja was trying to soothe the girl as much as she possibly could.
...What do I do when there's a thing on our shirt?
Hmm. Try poking it.
...Okay.
Calley reached a tentative hand around the girl's back, and gave her an open-palmed poke. This may have been misinterpreted as a soothing pat on the back, to those not in the know. Calley's bafflement continued, with a sort of bemused look on his face that could easily be taken as concern.
Geo and Deja had both followed them out into the hallway and were expressing their concern while Calley kept patting her back. Once again Katrina had succeeded in making everyone feel sorry for her. It was like a gray cloud kept following her. Every time she thought about home, somehow everyone around her ended up feeling sorry for her. At this rate people would probably start carrying tissues around with them just in case they ran into her sorry sorrowful self.
“I…I’m sorry.” She said between hiccups. At least she had calmed down enough that she could get words out now. “I was just thinking… about my… family. I… I’m okay now.” Katrina let go of Calley and wiped her eyes to prove that she would indeed be fine. She put on a brave face that probably wasn’t very convincing, and added, “You really don’t… have to worry… about me.” She hoped they didn’t press her to explain, because she probably wouldn’t be able to keep from crying even more.
Tristan knelt down beside Katrina and placed his hand on her shoulder, "It's ok kid...Kat, i know how parents can be, just remember that we always are here for you." When he had discovered his powers he had noone to comfort him or help him understand, he wanted to be there for the young child so that she wouldn't have to be alone.
Deja, just looked how the girl quickly got control over her emotion. Was very impressive. Deja then noticed her boyfriend, do whatever he could to make her feel better. I guess that whole, slick lady's man stuff was just an act. Deja, still didn't know about Calley. Deja then could tell the girl wanted some space, so she spoke up. "Hey guys, I think Katrina needs some space to breath?" Deja then gave Katrina a signal that If she needed some girl talk, she was here. For now Deja was just happy that everyone was good.
Before they all go off into sob stories about their families and before it grabs for my shirt again.
...Do you hear me disagreeing? Go.
"Hey guys, I think Katrina needs some space to breath?"
That was their cue. Calley stood up (prayed feverantly that the thing wouldn't latch onto their legs), and put on an easy smile. "You're right, Deja. I'm sorry, Katrina--here, umm," he riffled through his pockets, producing a squeak from a certain hidden lime green squeaky hedgehog, and eventually surfaced with a pen and mini-notepad. The pen clicked. Therefore, it had found its way into his pocket. The mini-notepad had been on an unattended guard's desk. Therefore, being true to its overwhelming urge to share anything interesting that might have been written on it, it had decided to follow Calley. The hedgehog he'd actually bought. He left that in his pocket, and scribbled a quick something-or-another down before tearing out a page and handing it to Katrina. "Those are the directions to the music room, okay? I'll just, ah... let you have some breathing space then." He edged away with a little wave. "If you ever need me, I'll probably be in the library a lot." He skittered.
Graceful.
Pfft. Like you're one to talk. "It's crying--let's poke it!"[/i]
All three of them seemed to sense that she didn’t want to talk about it just then, but through words and gestures they all showed that should she need any of them at a later time, they would be there for her. It was comforting to know that they were willing to listen, but for now some time alone sounded really nice.
“Thanks you guys.” She took the piece of paper from Calley and waved to him as he left. Then she smiled at Deja and Geo with eyes that were still a little red from crying, “I think I’ll see if I can find the music room now. Playing oboe will help me clear my mind.”
Deja then looked at the girl and smiled. "enjoy yourself!" Deja, thought the girl would do fine. She then noticed Calley leave. He was partly right, the X men tryouts were kinda all about destroying human faced robots. But, Deja would never harm a human, she wouldn't. Deja, then started thinking about the kid she really injured with her powers. It was so horrible, it almost made her cry but she didn't. Trying to get it off her mind she looked at Geo. "So.. have any ideas where to go?'' Deja then combined their fingers, as she kissed him, on the lips. Being around him, made her fill normal and special all at the same time. She could be around him forever and wouldn't care. Was this love? She didn't really know but whatever it was,s she enjoyed it.
