The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Arching an eyebrow at Kitra’s self proclaimed knowledge of range combat Zephyr waited patiently for the girl to finish even as he mentally dismissed each suggestion as it came along and the moment the red head paused voiced his own thoughts in a bored monotone.
“My assumption of your fighting style was based upon your performance in the dual training session with Ms. Evans, throughout the entire exercise you resorted to removing all obstacles with physical force and never once demonstrated any inclination towards ranged combat.”
Shifting his weight the elemental removed his firearm from the crook of his neck as he extended his arm outwards until it was parallel to the floor and aiming at the computer console five meters to his right. Keeping his azure eyes fixed on Kitra features for just a moment Zephyr turned his head and shattered the silence as he fired several shots towards the electronic terminal, raising minute clouds of dust as debris from the wall was sent flying through the air. Once the dust cleared though one could clearly see that each round had embedded itself in outer corners of the computers LCD screen, shredding the protective plastic casing but leaving the display unharmed and apparently fully functional.
Lowering his arm back to his side the merc slowly returned his gaze to the diminutive redhead in front of him, a jaded smile decorating his features. “Custom Beretta 92F” he stated simply as he gestured to the gun at his side, “constructed from a lightweight carbon polymer designed to reduce recoil to a minimum. I’ve been using it for a few months now, my aim isn’t really in question, I am simply trying to improve my speed.”[/b]
When Kitra once again repeated her desire to regain her sketchbooks and even went so far as to issue a challenge Simon could not prevent the condescending expression which swiftly shrouded his countenance. He had already seen what the girl was capable of courtesy of the afore mentioned training session and while her mutation was rather interesting she had a long way to go before she could effectively incorporate it any type of fighting style.
‘Who said the challenge had to be combat based?’ The thought leapt unexpectedly from the back of his mind and gave the elemental a moments pause, Kitra had stated the nature of the game, it was an exchange pure and simple, but there was no reason he had to play by her rules, or even play at all. The merc mused over the situation for a short while as he tried to determine whether girl had anything he needed, this in itself was not a difficult question, for truly there were only two things he currently valued; money and information. It could be argued that the two were one and same but and in truth the elemental merely thought of them as different type of currency although the latter was more difficult to value then the former.
Easing his features back to into a more polite expression Zephyr tilted his head to the side so as to try and impart an image of image of honest curiosity rather than the calculating visage he tended to employ when probing for information, for some reason people tended to distrusted him whenever he failed to mask his features as such.
“Very well,” he said slowly, “I challenge you to tell me about all of the mutants you have met so far, inside the labs or otherwise.”
Cafas: "Zephyr is the king of bad decisions, but if Sebby being weak to ghost is anything to go by, not so amazing at follow through."
Kitra grinned as Zephyr showed off his markmanship, very good very good indeed. Her grin faded into a thoughtful expression as he stated his challenge though. All the mutants she had met, there had to be quite a few didn't there? Let's see, Calley, Geo, Sapphire, Tris, Shogun, Zelek, Nika, Mandain, Abyss, Syn, and Amp and Vibe.
"Since you are the second in command of the Kabal, I know its okay to give you this information. Tris manupilates molucules. She can blow things up or freeze them. Her powers can be stronger or weaker depending on her temper. And she definetly has one. Sapphire's ability is shadows, or darkness. She uses dark tendrils and can teleport through the darkness. She's also part dingo. Wouldn't want to get on her bad side. Shogun is a blind samari. His ability is to read aruas, which also allows him to see a few seconds into the future. I believe Calley is also a mutant but I'm not yet sure of his abilities. I do know that he is valuable to Hunter."
She sighed slightly and continued, "Abyss, Syn and the twins are part of the Order, from Sanctuary. Abyss can create copies of himself and also seems to be inhumanly strong. He also happens to be red and have a prehinsle tail. Syn can manupulate people into talking. She did this on another mutant named Mandain. He was spilling his every secret for her. As for the twins, their abilities are centered around sound. I'm not positive on how they work. My guess is some sort of vibration, like echoes. Mandain has two personalities. Himself and Horus, Horus thinks he's a god. He uses a sword that is tattooed on his arm. He can also cast the plague on living things. Also he's frickin crazy, either that or dilousinal."
Kitra shifted her stance slightly, "The people I know of from the Mansion are Geo, Nika and Zelek. Geo is an earth manupilater, rather dangerous as he doesn't have full control of his powers. He's a big flirt with the ladies as well. Nika is part cat. Claws, ears and tail. She moves with catlike ability and her claws are very deadly. Cute too." Zelek can create matter and dissapate matter." She shrugged slightly, "A lot like my ability except his stay in reality and he cannot control it with his mind."
She looked at Zephyr, "As for Hunter, that's up to him to tell you." She smirked slightly, "As for you, you are either a telekenitic or you can manupilate wind." She blinked, "Either way a powerful mutation."
Listening passively to Kitra informal debriefing Simon silently catalouged the various aspects of each mutant as she named them. In truth this wasn’t something he should have needed to ask her, especially about his own “teammates”. Things being what they were though the elemental did not like to spend one minute more than what was required of him at the labs and thus his knowledge was restricted only to those people he happened to encounter by chance.
This behavior resulted in a mixture of good and bad for it meant that he was almost an unknown among even the Kabal and meant that very few knew what he was capable of, on the other hand it also meant that he often had to rely upon others to inform about the various goings on in the labs. This was no major concession however, his vocation was after all that of a mercenary and it was not as though Hunter was his only employer…
Simon frowned as he was struck by a sudden thought; he had another assignment later today. One of the higher echelons of the city’s criminal society had contacted him to oversee an exchange of resources with a Columbian cartel and ensure that there were no unpleasant surprises. Normally the merc’s price tag for such a job would have accumulated to more than most people made five years, yet this time he had accepted the task for a meager $30,000 a decision that still did not sit well with him but there was little he could about it now.
Pushing back the sleeve on his left arm the elemental glanced briefly at the rather gaudy watch which decorated his wrist and sighed. The labs training areas, while undoubtedly high tech, were equipped with neither windows nor conventional clocks making it almost impossible to track the passage of time. He had been here for too long. It was time he take his leave.
Opening the inside of his jacket Zephyr momentarily revealed a common firearm holster slung across his chest, the type used by more covert organizations such as the FBI and CIA. Without any act of flare or unnecessary bravado the merc slipped his gun into place and let his jacket fall closed as he turned his attention back to Kitra and gazed impassively at a spot over her shoulder as he tried to determine when he could next return to his apartment to pick up the sketchbooks… he hadn’t been planning on visit the labs again so soon though...
“I’ll see that you work is returned in the next two days or so” he said at length, “they’ll be mailed to the labs so you’ll need to check in with the front desk to retrieve them, now if you’ll excuse me.”
With a barely perceptible nod in the girls direction the elemental pivoted on his heel and casually made his way out of the room.

Had she really just got dismissed like that?! It looked like it. Shaking her head, she trotted after Zephyr. "Hey Zephyr, good luck and thank you. Perhaps at some point we should actually spar." Kitra grinned slyly, "I think it would be entertaining to say the least." Kitra inclined her head towards him in respect, she turned on her heel and headed down the hallway to get back to her room.
