The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The chair that Syn was sitting in moved slightly as Kazs' blade stuck into it. She could feel something touching her neck. Grabbing the handle and pulling the weapon out of the chair she listened to the man speak.
Anger was swelling up inside of her like molten lava in a volcano. First it was the knife, but that didn't impress her. Then he raised his finger like he was counting to a 2 year old. Finally he blasted the girl with his comment about not thinking of the bigger picture.
There was a moment when her brother gave Kaz a warning of his own. That had made Syn smile. It was good to know she could still count on her big brother if she needed to. However, when she looked back at Kaz the smile vanished and her eyes narrowed.
Syn rammed the blade into the table nearly to the hilt. She then bent the handle back and forth until it broke off. "Oops, I think your cheap toy broke," she said with a false smile. "You don't impress me with your tricks Kaz. I do think about the big picture more than you know." Looking to her brother for a moment she continued. "Yes, you're right about one thing. Yourself and my brother are much more suited for smashing things and such. I also know it doesn't take much brain power to think about how to crush someone's skull."
Syn gestured toward Dorian. "Don't you think Dorian has already thought of how to increase the mutant population? Don't you know he has scientists of his own working on such ideas? Maybe you should stick to babysitting your so called spy that you have at Xavier's Mansion." Syn waited for a reaction from either Kaz or Dorian.
Thorn sauntered into the room, late, as usual. Actually, she hadn't drank anything, in the last 6 hours, so she was doing good. Then again, it wasn't her 'prime time'. Right as she walked in, her red friend walked out. With a quick and curious look after him, she turned to the others. "My apologies for my lateness. What did I miss?" With that, she moved over and sat down, keeping her back straight...well, her corset wouldn't have it any other way.
Subtly, she reached down for her cigarettes, but refrained and looked back up without touching her sins to her lips. "Where have we gotten with this plan, anyways? I do apologize again, I ran into a little...tussle with those appointed law-protectors of our land. However, I am here and they are gone, that is all that matters, I am back for any assignment you wish to pass to me.'
"That is ENOUGH!!" Boomed Dorian, "Your petty attempts at establishing dominance are not impressing anyone, Kaz, least of all ME."
Dorian sighed. Things weren't progressing, though they had made some good progress in their planning.
"We are all tired. I feel that we have taken some excellent steps towards achieving our goals, but our passions seem to be getting in the way of our judgement. Kaz and Syn, you are both crucial members of the team, as are you all," he said, motioning to the group, "but attacking each other won't help anyone, if anything it will merely hinder and distract us from our obective. This is the time we all need to pull together and focus our energies instead of colliding with each other. We shall end the meeting here and come back at a later time."
Dorian noticed Thorn walk into the room.
"Could someone be so kind as to fill Thorn in on what has taken place here today."
Dorian remained standing at the table, waiting for the group to file out.

Kaz eyed Dorian with a raised eyebrow. "I really don't care if I'm not impressing you. But you misunderstand, I'm not attempting to establish dominance in any way. In my eyes, we're all equal." He looked at the group, but dropped his gaze on Syn. "I merely gave a warning. If anyone is trying to establish 'dominance' it would be our dear pheromone queen there."
Kaz stood up, grabbing his cane, putting it under one arm. Thorn came into the room late and with some excuse. It didn't matter to Kaz. Making a small chuckle, "Since she's 'Second in Command' I vote Syn do it." Referring to filling Thorn in about the meeting. "I have other things to do." With that, Kaz pushed the door open and walked out.
