The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

After giving Lisa her instructions to find the other members of The Order Syn made her way to the War Room. Making a quick stop to get herself some water first. Once in the War Room she pulled up the recorded data on the two remaining captives and how they reacted when Jack was near. These two should make things interesting enough she thought. Syn then sat in one of the rolling chairs and leaned back while putting her feet on the edge of the table in the middle of the room. Now she just had to wait for her comrades to arrive.
Opening the large doors leading into the War Room, Isabel poked her head in, looking to see if anyone had arrived yet. Seeing Syn sitting at the head of the large table with her feet propped up, she quietly brought the rest of her body into the room as well. Lisa had intercepted her in one of the hallways after the little tour group Isabel had bumped into had dispersed. The receptionist had informed her that Syn had called a meeting and had requested that the members of the Order all attend. This only served to peak Isabel's curiosity concerning Oppressor. Where had he gotten off to while she'd been away? Ah well, no matter. It seemed as if Syn was the one in charge at the moment and so far Isabel trusted the young woman and considered her to be good choice for the position.
Taking up a leisurely gait, Isabel made her way over to where her fellow mutant had situated herself. Pulling out one of the chairs, she plopped herself down into it, leaning back and crossing her arms as she fell into a more relaxed position. She hadn't the slightest idea as to why the meeting had been called. Perhaps it had something to do with that Jack girl Isabel had assisted in the capture of. Again she began to wonder to herself, this time about Jack. What exactly had become of that girl? Isabel hadn't seen her since they'd left the facility she'd been held at. "Hello, Syn," she greeted with a smile, letting her thoughts fade away into the back of her mind. "You the new head honcho around here now?"
I’m just a well-adjusted gal who likes to leave a serious amount of mayhem in her wake.
I discretely padded into this War Room of theirs on my Isabel’s heels. When she picked a chair, I parked myself under it. That Syn woman didn’t seem like much of a cat lover—best to stay off her radar if I didn’t want to get my furry self tossed into the not-very-interesting hall. I tucked my paws up under myself and curled my tail around ‘til it tickled my chin, and set myself to watching—and listening—from my nice safe under-the-chair forget-I’m-here hiding place.
Every whisker on my face was fanned with interest. Super-secret possibly-nefarious meetings have that effect on me, ‘specially when I’m not invited to them.
It had been a long time since Syn had seen Isabel. She had a flashback to when they fought the cops just outside of Sanctuary. The thought made her smile a bit. Syn watched the other girl make her way to a chair and make herself comfortable. She also saw a cat trailing close behind.
"Nice to see you again Isabel. It's been awhile since you've been around. I see you have a friend there with you as well." She leaned over to the side to get a better look at the cat then sat back up.
Taking a sip of her water she nodded at Isabels question. "Yeah I've been placed in second in command and so I'm in charge until Dorian returns from where ever he took off to. If he returns that is." Reaching upwards Syn stretched for a couple seconds. "Since we're still waiting for my brother and Kaz why don't you tell me what you've been up to."
The conversation between Syn and Isabel was interrupted as Abyss cam storming in. Ranting and raving about something. "What in the world are you talking about brother? What two don't you like and what about girls waiting?" That last part she could only assume was referring to herself and Isabel. Syn narrowed her eyes at her big brother. She had never been affraid of him and she had the attitude to stand up to him.
Syn suddenlt felt rather stupid for her previous mid set. She had so much on her mind that she completely forgot about the guest comment about girls waiting. "Where is Kaz anyways? I haven't seen him lately." Syn looked at both Isabel and her brother. "Have either of you seen him?"
Syn watched and listened to her brother talk to Kaz. In a way it was almost comical watching him try not to crush the tiny phone. "What do you mean dropping Nicki off? Dropping her off where and what is he doing with her?" Syn wasn't liking this already.

Kaz parked the car in the underground garage and made his way to the War Room. Though he took a detour first, to the medical wing to pick up his stuff. Once there, he put his mask and gloves on, though he removed the wrappings fully from his head, throat and hands. He felt the inside of his cheek swell just slightly from where he had been biting it. With his outfit on, and his cane in hand he made his way to the War Room. This time he was not limping in the slightest.
He entered the room and saw Abyss, Syn, Isabel and a cat. <Isabel? When'd she get back?> Kaz was clad in all black as he entered the room. He set his cane on the table and pulled his mask off, setting it next to his cane. His hood was still up and blocked the light from his face, except for his mouth. Kaz sat opposite Syn. Leaning back slightly in the comfortable chair, Kaz spoke. "Sorry I'm late. I miss anything?"
Syn watched Kaz enter the room. She didn't look at anyone else even though her brother was speaking at the moment. She waited for Kaz to sit down and finish his comment. "No, you haven't missed much Kaz. We've only been waiting for you before starting." Even though Syn is you she sure knew how to have a forked tongue.
Straightening up she again looked at everyone. "I've called this meeting to discuss ideas of what our plan should be for the captive mutants and Jack. I'd like to hear your ideas."

Looking at each member in turn, "Before I put out any suggestions or ideas. Do any of us know what Dorian's original plan was?" Kaz shrugged with his next words. "I don't know where he went, and I'm sure none of you know either. With him gone, are we gonna TRY to figure out what the original plan was, or are we going in a new direction?" Reaching to the table he grabbed his cane, "Instead of trying to figure out what plans we should make, I think first, we should figure out what we've learned from the test at KP." Kaz motioned to Syn with his right hand, which was the hand holding the cane, it's silver cobra head facing towards her.
Kaz gestured to the red and black haired girl since she had all the answers about KP at the moment. "Well, I don't think any of us know Dorian's full plan but I do know that he has a great dislike for humans and those who oppose him." Syn looked around at the others. She watched their expressions for a moment before going on.
"What we learned is that Jack's power has a huge impact on other mutants." Syn gestured to the large screen on the wall as she hit the play button. Footage of the mutants reactions started to play. The most profound ones being Sentinel and Iris even though she cocooned herself for the most part. "These two had an impressive reaction. The male was shooting shards of crystal everywhere while Iris reacted violently when the human tried to converse with her and move her." Just then they watched as Iris sent the human flying against the wall and leaving a blood spot.
"Now, I do know that Dorian seemed to have an idea of mutant supremacy over the lesser homosapiens. I also know that we'd have to go against the X-Men at some point or another. Personally, I wouldn't mind that at all."
(((ooc: switching to third person from here on out. Also, apologies: this got a tad long.)))
The little cat’s tail twitched approvingly as Santa Claus entered the room. He’d only been in the Sanctuary for about a half and hour, but the big red man was already one of his favorite people in the world, second only to Isabel. A good petting was a quick way to buy a place in Calley’s heart.
Another fellow arrived soon after. A weird fellow. A fellow who was dressed like a mummy, carried a cane, and took off his mask to reveal that nothing seemed to be wrong with him. It wasn’t the sort of fellow who inspired instant trust and warm fuzzy feelings in everyone who met him.
And then the fun began. The meeting was everything he’d been hoping for and quite a bit more than he’d actually been counting on. He started listed questions in his furry little noggin:
Who was Jack, and why were these fine upstanding citizens holding mutants captive? (And why didn’t he like the sound of that much?)
What tests? What was ‘KP’? (And why was he starting to think that he shouldn’t be hearing any of this?)
Who was Dorian? (Some leader-type fellow, Calley was willing to wager. But obviously not a very good one, if he’d just wander off while his lackeys were abducting people and conducting tests at KP with some guy named Jack.)
He sat quiet and outwardly unconcerned through all of their talk, the perfect picture of utter feline boredom. And then the Syn woman started up her video with these notably understated words: "What we learned is that Jack's power has a huge impact on other mutants." Yeah. No kidding.
Calley’s favorite part was when the man’s head hit the wall and slid down with a little red-smearing action. His little kitty stomach was happy it hadn’t eaten for a few hours. The poor bastard.
Correction: his favorite part was that the one causing all that chaos was a small girl. A small girl who was just standing there, not actually doing anything. Educated guess: she was a mutant. Further guess: her power sucked even worse than his. Waking up as all sorts of interesting animals and occasionally forgetting how to be human suddenly didn’t seem so bad.
"Now, I do know that Dorian seemed to have an idea of mutant supremacy over the lesser homosapiens. I also know that we'd have to go against the X-Men at some point or another. Personally, I wouldn't mind that at all."
Who were the X-Men, and why did he have a sinking feeling that it wouldn’t be healthy for him if they suspected he wasn’t just a cute little cat? He did the only logical thing: he yawned, and started grooming himself under Isabel’s chair. He kept his ears perked.
Isabel flashed a little grin in Syn's direction as she returned the greeting. "Yes, it has been quite some time, hasn't it? Sorry about taking off like that. That's just one of the things I'm rather good at. Disappearing, I mean. I can't really help it sometimes," she replied, her gaze only flickering down at the cat for a moment at the mention of the little tag-along. "Heh, the silly thing follows me everywhere, though I can't really say that it bothers me. It's nice to have the company, even if he doesn't talk back." So Dorien had taken off after all. Just as she'd suspected. It wasn't really unlike th man to do so, he was always popping up in odd places or taking off when no one was looking. Neither was it a surprise when Syn clarified that she was now the second in command. Syn would be a good leader. Hm, well let's see now, what had she done since her presence had become nonexistent at the Sanctuary. "Nothing really of interest to report. Just wandering about from here to there, keeping myself amused out in Central Park or in the city streets. Nothing special."
Isabel turned her head as Abyss banged his way into the room, quirking an eyebrow slightly at his angered manner, though she didn't say anything. It wasn't that she was afraid of Abyss, there were very few things that Isabel was really afraid of, it was more that she was a little apprehensive about getting on the Big Guy's bad side. Knowing her, she'd probably end up saying something stupid and only making things worse, so for the moment she stayed silent.
And now it was spies, was it? Well, that was only to be expected with such a large establishment such as the Sanctuary housing such a large number of mutants. That was enough to make anyone suspicious, though so far Mr. King had done a very good job of keeping that suspicion to a minimum. Isabel only shook her head at the inquiry about Kaz's whereabouts. She hadn't seen him since she'd walked through the main doors.
Again her head turned as the person whom centered in their current discussion entered the room, clad in black and wearing a mask. Apparently he'd returned from dropping off his little friend, who Abyss had claimed was a spy for the Sanctuary. Well, they might as well try to level the playing ground if that's how the X-Men were going to play it, eh?
And finally they were down to business. So it was about Jack, as Isabel had suspected. Thoughtfully she turned her attention to the screen that lit up with images of two particular mutants that were being kept at a place called KP. King Pharmaceuticals, no doubt. Isabel had known that Jack would be held in one of Mr. King's facilities, considering that she'd assisted in the capture of the young girl, but she hadn't known that they'd be kidnapping others as well. Now, you wouldn't think that would cause any sort of stir in her brain, now would you? But for some odd reason it did. Maybe it was that they were being held in locked rooms. In the past Isabel had encountered plenty of anti-mutant humans that would be all too glad to throw them all into cages and be done with them. She hated that mentality among people, and so maybe that's why she disliked the fact that this group of mutants was doing something very similar to what those humans wanted done. The fighting part she didn't so much mind. Isabel wasn't one to back down from a fight.
"And what exactly is to be done with these mutants, knowing what effect Jack's mutation has on them?" Isabel inquired. She didn't want to sound stupid or anything, but really had no clue as to what was planned or what had been going on since the kidnapping. Now she didn't so much need an explanation as to what had happened, but instead about what was going to happen.
I’m just a well-adjusted gal who likes to leave a serious amount of mayhem in her wake.
It was a warming sight to finally see the golden doors of the Sanctuary after so long. He had missed the place. Pressing heavily on the large doors, Dorian entered the foyer making his way to the hidden entrance to the lower level. The receptionist was staring after him in disbelief as he walked passed, mouth wide, not even noticing that she had dropped the phone she was using just a moment ago. Regaining focus, she managed to stammer out to him that Syn had called a meeting in the War Room. Dorian paused, turned and gave a nod of thanks, and continued on his way.
"Welcome back, sir" she shouted out before the leader disappeared from view.
Dorian was wearing a long, flowing black robe, with a hood that hid the top half of his face, the only visable part of Mr King was a cold leer on a paler complexion that he had when he first left. His heavy boots created loud resonating footsteps as he strode with conviction towards the war room doors. Again he pressed heavily on the doors, this time overestimating their weight, and causing them to fly open with a loud crash.
The members of the order who were inside looked up in surprise at Dorian, not recognising who he was at first.
Syn's eyes widened as the doors flung open and slammed against the walls. There in the doorway stood a figure she hand't expected to see. "Dorian!" She stood up from her chair and stared at him. There was a brief pause before she regained her compossure. "We were just discussing what we should do next." She wasn't sure if she should ask her next question but she did it anyway. "Where have you been?"
